Character name: Shang Tsung
Character source: Mortal Kombat series
Character history: I'm honestly not 100% sure, I'll have it figured out at the time of my first post. I'll probably pluck him from either between MK1 and MK2 or during MK2. After the second game, it all just became an increasingly incoherent cluster.
Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength (1000 OM) and Ranged (1000 OM)
Starting Powers: Elasticity and Physically Shapeshifting (1400 OM), Master Acrobat (400 OM)
Starting Moves: I'll do this in the Move Approval Thread, if that's okay.
Writing example: I originally toyed with being Kerrigan or something, and then I decided to skip the semantics and just go full-villain rather than risk flirting with anti-heroes or anti-villains or anti-anythings.
War had raged across the Korpulu Sector for years, and with the arrival of the Protoss and the Zerg, an end to the unyielding conflicts seemed nothing more than a forlorn hope strengthened by the vain and naïve. Unfortunately for the majority of citizens, they didn’t have to face the atrocities of war until it marched right up their front doors. In their stead, the pawns and grunts of the Terran Confederacy were thrown onto the front lines to die like sacrificial lambs.
They deserved their fates—the self-serving ignoramuses. They were too pompous and moronic to realize they fulfilled nothing with their martyrdom save the immortalization of their bureaucratic overlords. Even if it was the last thing that Sarah Kerrigan bore witness to, she was going to see the end of the Terran Confederacy. The sector had been ruled by their autocratic policies for far too long, and with the Zerg and Protoss slowly ebbing away at the Confederacy’s dominion, the time for rebellion was nigh.
“Bull’s-eye” Kerrigan whispered, smiling as she looked through the scope and depressed the trigger of the high-powered canister rifle. The round emitted an almost inaudible click as it rocketed out of the firearm’s barrel. A split-second later, the skull of a Confederate officer exploded into a vibrant array of gore and biological shrapnel. While the horrors of war were something Kerrigan bore witness to every day, she still twitched with each life she ended. With a faint sigh, the Ghost fished her communication’s device from her pocket and brought it up to her face.
“The job is done,” she muttered, letting her arm relax and fall back to her side. Through the sea of static, Kerrigan could hear a bunch of loud noises and erratic voices.
“We’ll be there soon, Sarah,” a stern voice said through the feedback. Nodding her head, the lieutenant holstered the canister rifle behind her back and closed her eyes as a cadre of footsteps drew closer to her location. A smile spread across her pale features as her body slowly began to phase out of the visible plane. In a matter of seconds, there was nothing left in the vacant meeting hall except a solitary corpse.
“Holy shit!” The marine in charge of the small group shouted, brandishing his Gauss Rifle as he darted toward his assassinated superior. His four comrades followed suit and began to search the room for any signs of the invader. Before they managed to take more than six steps, Kerrigan murdered all of them with a single bullet a piece. Rematerializing in the same location she had been for the last few minutes, the lieutenant turned away from the bloodshed and glanced out a nearby window.
Opening the window as she had done prior to her assassination of the Confederate officer, Kerrigan slipped out of the window and onto the slim metal ledge. With catlike grace, she shimmied along the wall of the Commander Center until she reached the grappling hook she had used to ascend the tall structure at the start of her mission. On the ground below, the Sons of Korhal were sweeping across the colony in lighting fashion.
“Antiga Prime is ours, Lieutenant Kerrigan,” a voice decreed through the static of the communication device strapped to Sarah’s waist.
“You’re welcome, Arcturus,” she replied nonchalantly—sliding down the galvanized chord a heartbeat later. Once she rendezvoused with Jim Raynor, they would amass the legions of the Sons of Korhal and raze the Confederate installation across the river.
The revolution had begun.

I was wondering if anyone read it or any parts of it.
The point of the thread was to introduce a supporting cast and establish a 'home' for Proto Man in the Omniverse. As such, I'm well aware that it's mostly lore and introductions and there isn't an actual plot in a sense. But I had fun writing it, and I'll be returning to many of the foundations I laid here.
But yea, anyone who read any of it enjoy it? I hope you do.

| Planning for a base. |

Is there an upper limit on the size of a base? Harry was a founder of something called the Paranet back home, a group of practitioners of magic that couldn't make full wizard. The principle behind it was strength in numbers, and in the Omniverse, I was thinking he'd be able to take it a step further, providing a place of refuge for a large number of people once he got enough Omnilium to have a base.
My first idea is to use the White Council base at Edinburgh. The base wouldn't be Edinburgh Castle itself, but rather the network of tunnels underneath it, perhaps carved out of a preexisting cave system, or underneath an empty castle in Camelot.
This leads to my second question; could bases have "public" areas? Places where access is assumed to be granted unless banned, divided from places that need access approval or force of arms to enter?

Is the IC/game use of a Communicator so you can call player character allies to you in the event that you get ganked by someone in the same verse as them?
Will I need a Communicator to communicate with a non-player character? Or does the Mobile Dataverse Device cover this function?
I guess I only ask because, seeing as how most phones and handheld computers nowadays are like, internet-capable, I'm having trouble with these two items.

"Well that was strange. I'll have to look up more about that Omni character later. If only Bob were here." Harry didn't know why he was talking to himself, but he was. It wasn't like there was anyone else at the strange fountain to talk to. As if to mock him, it had taken on the shape of the Stone Table and its surrounding grassy plateau, at least before the scenery gave way to featureless white a few feet away. Harry, ever curious, took a step towards the white, testing it with his foot and finding the void to be solid and smooth. He remembered that substance, that Omnilium. Maybe he could make something useful with it, like the Blue Beetle. After all, Omni had said to think of what he wanted most.
Harry concentrated on the Blue Beetle, his old, beaten-up VW Bug, but felt some sort of jolt, as if the Omnilium was telling him "no". "Alright, I'll start smaller." He thought of Karrin's motorbike, the nice, modern Harley. Motorcycles lasted longer in his wizardly presence than most small motorized vehicles, so Harry would give that a shot next. This time, Harry felt something working right, and he concentrated harder, holding the image of the bike with all its moving parts in his head like he would a spell construct. The Omnilium dripped forward like a liquid, thinning out into an oval the size of the bike over the next few minutes. When it felt like it was time, Harry finished the foreign spell with a clear incantation of Appare!
The Omnilium resolved into the shape of Murphy's bike with a surprising lack of energy expenditure on Harry's part. He got on the vehicle with a little bit of timidity, then realized that he lacked a helmet. Distrustful of this bike even more so than the real one in Chicago, Harry spent a good three minutes summoning a racing helmet. Somewhere along the way a memory had jarred loose and he'd wound up with the brilliant pink one Murphy had gotten for him as a joke. "Aw, who cares? I just want to go somewhere that isn't so blank." Harry slid his staff into the saddlebag, revved the bike's engine, and did a couple doughnuts to pick the direction he'd go in semi-randomly, taking off at a grand speed of... 15 miles per hour. The bike pretty much refused to exceed e.g.g that speed. "This is going to be boring, isn't it?"
He wasn't wrong. Thirty minutes later he arrived at a portal that stood in the middle of the air, leading out past an array of massive stones to a vast forest. The bike chose this moment to stutter and die. "Ya did good, little motorcycle. Ya did good." Smoke belched from the tailpipe in response. Still, it had lasted about as long in his presence as he'd wanted it to. He retrieved his staff and left the vehicle there, walking through the portal. Anywhere would be better than here, even if the heat was set to make his life a living hell in his heavy leather duster.

What are the restrictions on vehicle summoning in the Nexus? Harry's first instinct for summoning would be to make the Blue Beetle, his beat-up VW Bug from back home. I know he couldn't take it through any gates, or even summon it in Camelot, but I want to know if he'd fail at making it in the Nexus as well.
