Hey, this is Guu. I've surpassed 8,000 OM with my first character, so I can have a second now.
Character name: Lopunny
Character source: Pokemon
Character history: This particular lopunny was a product of breeding. Her Medicham/Lopunny lineage allowed her to know Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, and Ice Punch from birth. While she succeeded inheriting the moves, her stats were not considered perfect enough, so the breeders passed her up when considering her for a life battling.
As a Buneary, she was given to a young boy. The two were the closest of companions, so close that his love was what got her to evolve.
But as time passed and he grew to be of age to qualify as a real trainer, he eventually only desired Pokemon who could fight. He brought her along, and she'd try to follow his orders to the best of her ability but she was so unconditioned for the battlefield, she would always hold back and get her butt kicked. By the time he had 8 badges, he was almost never using her.
Then, one day, after over a month of being in the Pokeball, he tosses her out in battle again… against a Gengar. Knowing she could do nothing against a ghost type, all she could do is cower as her master gives the first command.
And that is when she was snatched up into the Omniverse.
Physical Description:
Quote:Lopunny is a bipedal, rabbit-like Pokémon with a dark brown fur and a short, round tail. It has pink eyes with black markings on the inner edge, long tufts of cream-colored fur above its eyes, and a small, pink nose. Its long ears, which bend shortly above its head, end in fluffy, cream-colored fur. -Bulbapedia

Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 1
SPD: 5
TEC: 2
Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength (1000 OM), Debuff Proficiency (1000 OM)
Starting Powers: Super Jumping; Advanced (500 OM), Master Acrobat (400 OM)
Starting Moves:
Fire Punch (300 OM): Fist encases in 1 inch layer of fire which travels with the punch. Upon impact, the flame collides with the target before dispersing, causing burn damage.
Ice Punch (600 OM): Fist encases in a 1 inch thick layer of ice, shattering on impact and causing frost damage. This move moderately lowers target's defensiveness for 2 rounds.
Caveat: Can only be used once per battle.
Thunder Punch (600 OM) A lightning fast punch that causes electricity to pulse through the target, causing shock damage and slowing them moderately for two rounds.
Caveat: Can only be used once per battle.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

| Basic Jump used horizontally(?) |

This isn't something I was planning to use for my character, (I am planning to start out with Ranged proficiency) but I had a question.
Can basic jump be used horizontally? I assume yes (?) but to some extent, but I wanted to know if speed plays a significant factor in this move.
(Side note I recognize the move is quite different from burst.)
Secondly, can a horizontal jump be used in association to a charge at an enemy? (Ie. Perhaps easier than running at an enemy, because there is less traction, aka "gliding" through the air) this tactical side of the move interests me. But maybe I am overthinking it.
Also I recognize that a "jump-charge" as it may be called, is somewhat of disadvantage because there isn't much time to dodge.
Thirdly, would a horizontal jump* be beneficial in a stealth prioritized situation because footsteps wouldn't be heard approaching to alert an enemy (from behind)?
*again basic jump
Edit: also as to whether something like this can be used in battle
I hope someone can clear this up for me. Thank you in advance.

Character name:
"Doomguy", "The Space Marine". Whatever real name the soldier of Phobos has, he prefers to hide it behind nicknames and monikers for whatever paranoid reason.
Flynn Taggart
Character source:
Doom, after the climatic battle against the Icon of Sin in Doom II and a short walk through the ruins of the Hell
Character history:
A veteran and skilled space marine of the United States Space Marine Corp (USSMC), the marine spent years fighting against insurrectionist in Earth's planetary colonies and pirates hiding in the asteroid belt when on one faithful day his commanding officer orders him to fire upon civilians. Doomguy beat him to a pulp, and after a court marshal was sent to Mars, 50 millions from from any action, as punishment. For three years he sat protecting the nuclear waste processing plants of the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC), a multi-planetary conglomerate with vast power and loose morals. Unbeknownst to most, the UAC had been working on teleport technology which had the current stumbling block of subjects becoming blood-thirsting bezerkers and exploding into gore. No one would expect what would follow.
A distress beacon sounded out from Phobos base, Doomguy and his squad quickly shuttled out from Mars to investigate what happened What they found shocked them: Diemos itself had disappeared from reality, and Phobos was overrun with demons spewing from hellgates. The scientist and security was massacred, and so was Doomguy's squad when he was left to secure the hanger. With fleeing not an option, the marine fought his way through his former comrades now undead soldiers, hordes of demons, the twisted environment of Phobos, the disappeared Deimos, and Hell itself, and his own slipping sanity until he destroyed the generals of Hell's armies. But he was too late, for they had already started their invasion of Earth.
After fighting his way out, Doomguy would continue his way to fight through the demonic enemies until humanity manages to evacuate the ravaged planet, and alone he strikes into the heart of Hell and faces the leader itself: the Icon of Sin. After destroying it utterly and leaving Hell in ruins, Doomguy heads back to the gateway to return home, when he was whisked away and finds himself in the Omniverse...
Physical Description:
A muscle bound, heavily scared, and fatheaded soldier. Basically, your generic action hero.
Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength (1000 OM)
Ranged Proficiency (1000 OM)
Area Attack Proficiency (600 OM)
Starting Powers:
None (He's only human!)
Starting Moves:
Pistol (300 OM) "This is my pistol. There are many like it, but this one is mine."
Doomguy's reliable pistol and standard sidearm. Not a particularly strong weapon, but it can fire as fast as Doomguy can pull the trigger and being a light one handed weapon allows him to quick draw, keep on the move, and fire shots with not too much need for accuracy. General used to save ammo, but in this universe it's useful as a well-rounded ranged weapon.
Shotgun (300 OM) "At this particular moment in time I don't believe I have a healthier or more deeply felt respect for any object in the universe than this here shotgun"
A powerful shotgun is the favorite weapon of Doomguy (that isn't one of the heavier damage dealers), a single shotgun blast can take down most humanoids with a single shot. While the spread is much narrower than most "video game shotguns", this is actually to the benefit of Doomguy: the small spread allows him to snap fire at long range for enemies and still deal major damage. But because of the time it takes to pump a new shell in, the better tactic is to strife around an enemy, fire at close range for max damage, then run off until he's loaded again and keep firing as the enemy reels from the first shot.
Chaingun (900 OM) "Dance, bonedaddy, dance! Haha, Phobos reloaded"
The most versatile of the weapons in a space marine's arsenal, firing in burst to allow accurate fire or unleashing sustained fire, but the bulk and wind up of the weapon requires Doomguy to thinking smart before using it. Despite it's reputation for inaccuracy, a chaingun can fire quick shots that will keep a good accurate fire that deal damage (although not to the same amount as a shotgun) with only a little wind up. When raw firepower is needed, Doomguy holds down the trigger and unleashed bullets into the enemy, with enough force and quanitiy that it can knock the target around in a way that marines refer to as "the chaingun cha-cha". Doomguy's strength can keep it from bucking up too much, but he cannot account for all the bullets. But when the chips are down and Doomguy need to fill his attackers with bullets, he plants his feet down, loads the gun with a belt of ammo and speeds the barrel to max before unleashing a devastating storm. By keeping still, he can spread out the fire without too much lost of accuracy.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

Step 1: Make a post. This post should be at least 300 words. You may also post multiple times adding up to 300 words or more.
Step 2: Click on the name of your post. See it? It's probably something like 'Re: The Story of John Doe', a large line of text above your post. This should have a hashtag and your post link at the end of it (see the bolded part on the end here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1114&p=7298#p7298). Copy the entire URL from your address bar.
Step 3: Post it in the active weekly gains topic. The date of your post should be within the date range, GMT. If you are submitting multiple posts that add up to 300, post all the links.
Step 4 (optional): If you have posted in the current week's book club, please include a link to that post along with the text 'book club'.
Step 5 (optional): If you have a Recognition bonus, please include in your post 'Recognition bonus: +25'. If you have an Ascendancy bonus, please post with 'Ascendancy bonus: +50'.
That's all you need to do! When the topic is updated, you will be given 150 OM. Obviously if you have a recognition or ascendancy bonus, this will be increased by 25 or 50. With book club bonuses you may earn up to 250 per week (sometimes the bonus may be bigger on special occasions).
New weekly gains topics go up every Sunday at midnight (at the end of Saturday and the dawn of Sunday) GMT. The valid time begins on Sunday at 0000 hours GMT and ends on Saturday at 2359 GMT.

Every now and again, I used to post up lists of characters by their OM, in order to promote competition and highlight growth.
I'mma bring it back and use a new thread, to highlight the fact that most of the people on the list have only been writing for... less than six months? Ten months? I included people who have posted and/or visited in the last three weeks or so, with one or two exceptions.
Shang - 8,935.58 OM
Luffy - 8,620.84 OM
Kuzan - 8,522.20 OM
Yoshi - 8,190.18 OM

Guu – 7,881.99
Dark Link - 7,817.67 OM
Sarah K - 7,692.59 OM
Desco - 7571.5 OM

Quill - 5,211.66 OM

Underseij - 5,075.38 OM
Hyphen - 5,052.60 OM
Alain the Carnedge – 5000 OM
Inlumia and I both have five digit OM totals, but I'm not including us because we'd be absurd outliers. I also excluded Ganondorf, Link, Harry, and Samus because, while they still lurk, none of them have had a chance to post and also have five-digit totals.

| Count Dracula |
|

[float=right] [/float]Location/Role: Dracula is located inside the castle that bears his name, and he is in charge of an army that is likewise named for him. Erected following the banishment of Diablo from the Omniverse, Dracula’s Castle is located deep in the hinterlands of the Pale Moors.
It is from this castle that the mysterious Count Dracula rules a loose network of monsters, demons, and undead creatures that constitute ‘Dracula’s Army.’ While by no means an intricately organized force, it is not uncommon to find groups of disparate creatures bearing the Count’s coat of arms. These groups tend to raid travelers and the small villages in the area around Darkshire.
History: It is now mostly common knowledge that Count Dracula was once a mortal man. Born a Wallachian aristocrat in the fifteenth century, Dracula had a degree of privilege in life that many of his countrymen lacked. Due to his heritage, he eventually became a warlord in a part of Europe under constant threat of Muslim invasion. After this point, the details become somewhat blurry, as Dracula himself is quite silent on the topic. All that is known is that the Count carried out a guerilla war against the Ottomans that spanned decades, and while he had success for many years, the tides eventually turned on him.
No one knows when Count Dracula the man perished and Count Dracula the vampire was born, although most would assume this occurred by the end of the fifteenth century. The history of Dracula thereafter is a mixture of speculation, rumors, and the tales of Abraham van Helsing. It is uncertain when Dracula came to the Omniverse.
In the days when the Black Gate was still open, Dracula was the equivalent of a commanding officer in the army that marched for the Lord of Terror. A handsome, smart, and charismatic individual, the vampire led many crippling raids against the forces of the Kingdom. When the fighting turned to large-scale battles, Dracula was often spotted near the front lines amidst the infantry. A master of the psychological aspects of war, the count would often impale the corpses of slain enemy commanders on pikes outside the walls of Darkshire.
For reasons unknown, Dracula was absent from the Battle at the Black Gate. The reasons for this are varied. Some claim he had been preoccupied in other parts of the Moors. Others state he foresaw the end of his master’s reign of terror and used this time to consolidate control over his forces. Whatever the cause, Count Dracula escaped the end of the war with a large nucleus of followers intact.
Several months followed in which the Pale Moors experienced a short period of peace and a potential shot at gradually returning to their pre-war prosperity. What is now accepted as fact is that Dracula used this time to forge his castle and army and gradually rise to power in the deep reaches of the Moors. By the end of the year—around the same time that the fog swallowed Silent Hill—Dracula could claim dominion over much of his former master’s zone of influence. The citizens of Darkshire, who had almost had enough time to be happy, slipped back into despair as attacks resumed on their already beleaguered city.
While he yet lacks the power of Diablo, it is clear that Dracula seeks to follow in the footsteps of his former master. And given the situation in the Pale Moors and the Omniverse at large, it is doubtful that any will be able to stand in his way.

I have a strange question.
I plan on making my character a cyborg (involving use of the dataverse uplink item after I can purchase it).
Would I be able to be in the dataverse and elsewhere at the same time? I plan to be 'online' in the dataverse via his cybernetics and be in other places at the same time if that's possible, like Sergeant Major from Ghost in the Shell theoretically could if she could split her focus and do both at the same time (or at least connect without that damn cord).
Edit: Basically, it'd be like having an Uplink station or VR Helmet on the inside of your body and having to spit concentration to maintain efficient in either location. What would I need to purchase to make my idea work? Would I have to take a power to be able to be in both locations at once? Mutiple item purchases?
Second question not entirely related to the first. Would you be able to talk outside of the Spirit Realm while within the Spirit Realm? I mean carry on a conversation, not fight and such. Probably requires the eyes to be closed though.

Assuming I can eventually pay for the abilities and all, will this character sheet be able to be transfered in any way? I spent days on this thing and yet, it's still not done:
Undersiej
This is also assuming that there's a Healing power somewhere, as I didn't see it when I was checking the rules. Also, what would Empathy fall under? Buff? For those that didn't read the whole thing it's a power that allows one to feel th emotions of other people and feel what powers they have at range.
