Senator Armstrong
Posted by: Senator Armstrong - 03-15-2015, 08:34 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (8)

Swapping off Goku, just can't get into the character.

Character name: Senator Steven Armstrong

Character source: Metal Gear Rising

Character history:
Armstrong was born and raised in Texas. Prior to pursuing politics at the national stage, Armstrong played college football for the University of Texas, but joined the United States Navy due to a desire to serve his country, which also sacrificed his chances of going pro. However, although a member of the Navy, he never saw actual combat during his time in the service. By the time of 2018, he maintained his physique and even managed to enhance it further via nanomachines in order to put his strength on par with a cyborg soldier. At some point, he moved to Colorado.

Political career
Armstrong eventually ran for election to the Colorado state senate. One of the initiatives he spearheaded while acting as a Colorado state senator was slashing the state budget, leading to privatization of the police force, and allowing World Marshal to gain control of the Denver Police Department. Armstrong was eventually elected to one of Colorado's seats in the United States Senate.

In 2016, Armstrong delivered a speech to increase his approval ratings, later expressing to his speech writer the belief that people only cared about the spin you put on it, and no longer cared about information control, or even right or wrong. The speech writer warned him that he would appear before a grand jury if his connection to Desperado PMSC was revealed, which Armstrong refuted, given his belief that ordinary citizens could not care less due to believing that money was the only thing that truly mattered. Armstrong also expressed a desire to actually remake America's position as the most powerful nation in the world and reclaim the American Dream, also blithely stating that the Tea Party Movement was not going to succeed due to its unwillingness to make sacrifices, implying that he wanted to bring about another American Revolution, and compared himself to the true Sons of Liberty. Armstrong then dismissed him as he had other matters to attend to, although not before promising to talk to him soon. The conversation was later leaked onto the Internet. That same year, just as was feared by his speechwriter, he was investigated for his ties to World Marshal Inc., the world's largest PMC as well as the largest distributor of cybernetic parts. Despite this, he was still considered a presidential nominee for the 2020 elections, and was even considered to be a "shoo-in."

World Marshal

At some point after his investigation, Armstrong and World Marshal/Desperado took an interest in Samuel Rodrigues' abilities, and arranged for him to arrive at Denver. After Sam managed to defeat a Metal Gear RAY , he then proceeded to invite Sam to the roof via the PA for a "final interview." When Sam boarded an elevator to the roof, he contacted Sam and informed him that he was like him in several respects, despite Sam's insistence that he kill Armstrong for "sacrificing soldiers from his cozy office." He then met with Sam and powered up to his maximum form. While fighting him, he eventually retreated to the top of one of the structures and utilized his abilities to hurl five Hammerhead choppers at Sam, before jumping down and beckoning for him to continue the fight. He later implemented a crimson aura. In the closing of the battle, Armstrong proceeded to block Sam's swordstrike with his right forearm, with Sam overpowering Armstrong. He then tried to use a horizontal slice on the senator, but Armstrong managed to block the blow with both forearms. Chuckling, Armstrong then proceeded to ask Sam if that was the best he has to offer, though Sam knocks him back. Armstrong then got up and then proceeded to grapple Sam, swing him around, and then hurled him at a passing Hammerhead. Sam, however, managed to narrowly avoid passing the rotors, and instead jumped back at Armstrong. Armstrong, seeing Sam coming in fast, proceeded to harden himself for the blow, but Sam managed to use his quick-draw to overpower Armstrong's defenses with two slices. After an intense battle, Sam seemingly was victorious over Armstrong. Armstrong then requested him to join forces so they could end war as a business. Sam considered the idea, but decided to just "take his hand." Sam managed to slice off Armstrong's right hand, the same way he would eventually slice off Raiden's arm, but Armstrong used his nanomachines to turn his wound into a blade and then used it to significantly injure Sam's right arm. After quickly attaching his severed hand back onto his arm, Armstrong proceeded to successfully recruit Sam.

Direct involvement in Desperado activities
Inspection of the Mexican research lab
Two years after the attempted investigation, he also personally inspected a Desperado research lab in Mexico alongside Sundowner, regarding the transportation of children's brains in cyborg head casings before delivering them to World Marshal for the Sears Program, replicating former President George Sears' training of child soldiers in Liberia. He also plotted for Operation Tecumseh, which involved starting a war with Pakistan under false pretenses while President Hamilton is visiting the country with Pakistani President Farooq Salam for peace talks.

Operation Tecumseh
Armstrong secretly headed for Pakistan in order to assassinate President Hamilton and frame Desperado. But the plan changed when Raiden defeated both Sundowner and Sam in Colorado. Instead Armstrong confronted Raiden at the air base with Metal Gear EXCELSUS. He also revealed that, since the fall of SOP and the Patriots, America was hit with a recession, hence he needed to orchestrate a false flag operation to support the war economy to put America back to work again. In addition, although his initial plan was to assassinate the president, he decided instead to have the American base personnel appear to be killed by Pakistani extremists, feeling that would have accomplished things all the same. However, he fought Raiden because he is the only one who would expose the truth of what happened. After it was destroyed, he proceeded to fight Raiden and even bring him to his mercy. During the battle, he explained his motives of wanting to remake America, feeling it had become rotten to the core, and re-establish America as a world where people fight for their own reasons, rather than that of the government. Raiden then deduced that he was not merely a "greedy politician" as he initially thought, but completely insane due to his reference to culling the weak and having the strong be free. Although Raiden attempted to defeat Armstrong, he ultimately proved to be too powerful, with Armstrong revealing his nanomachines to be the cause of his nigh-invulnerability.

Armstrong then proceeded to savagely beat Raiden to a pulp with his enhanced strength, with his blows being powerful enough to heavily damage and even destroy EXCELSUS's ruined frame. However, Blade Wolf saved him by bringing to him Samuel Rodrigues' sword. Armstrong, angrily calling Blade Wolf a "little fuck" and a "damn mutt" for its defiance, kicked it away, although not before Blade Wolf threw the sword to Raiden. Raiden then proceeded to fight a grueling battle against Armstrong, which eventually culminated in Armstrong slamming Raiden down onto the ground hard enough to knock Raiden's sword away, and then grab Raiden by the neck and lift him up. Raiden then broke free via a roundhouse kick and retrieved the Muramasa. Armstrong then tried to land a right punch on Raiden, only for Raiden to successfully parry the blow away, also injuring his right hand in the process. Undeterred, Armstrong then tries to use a left jab on Raiden, only for Raiden to do the same to his left hand. Left with injured arms, Armstrong then attempted to charge Raiden, only for Raiden to slice his chest and then stab him in the gut. The stabbing temporarily stunned him, but Armstrong then let out a feral roar and grappled with Raiden. Raiden eventually overpowered the grapple and headbutted him in the head, stunning Armstrong and causing Raiden to remove the sword from the gut, and then proceeded to cut up his nanite core before impaling his chest with his arm. Upon being defeated, Raiden then finishes the former senator off by ripping out his nanomachine-laced pale heart and crushing it with his hand. As he died, Armstrong nonetheless accepted his defeat and declared Raiden his successor, stating that they are kindred spirits in the sense that Raiden fights for what he believes in no matter what.

As he died a strange white being appeared beside him, mocking him for his arrogance. In this moment Armstrong had believed that this small creature was god, and thus, when the creature told him that it was interested in him he took it as a matter of course. After all, it was he who had been born to make America great, and then. Whiteness took him. To Armstrong it just seemed like all those years of attending church functions had paid off, but oh how wrong he was.
Starting Moves:

Nano Machines Son (900 OM requires physical strength, area shield prof): Nano Machines fill armstrongs body, and they harden in response to trauma. Whether this comes from his fist colliding with someone's face or with some unfortunate soul trying to hit him is ultimately irrelevant. The nano machines respond without him needing to react however this also means he can't control them and overuse tires him quickly if someone is able to overwhelm his defenses. He can take this a step further though and supercharge his nanomachines causing a burst of energy around him that pushes away any near by targets and deflects weak projectiles at further cost of Armstrong's limited energy reserves. The maximum radius the energy can go out to is 10ft and it pushes people to the edge of the boundary. Can also be supercharged to temporarily allow for great feats of strength like cracking armor plating, if used this way he charge energy for as much as 5 seconds to unleash these powerful blows. The Nano Machines can't be active all the time, and Armstrong has to physically touch them to activate them, after a 3 second period they'll spread fully throughout his body allowing him to use the offensive and defensive capabilities.

E-mail; to "Langweilig Citizens" - Evacuation Order
Posted by: Guu - 03-13-2015, 11:47 PM - Forum: Dataverse Messageboards - No Replies

Quote:Sent out both by letter and by e-mail before the Guu’d vs. Evil battle
As you all may or may not have known, our town will soon be overcome by a battle of psychopaths. It is unknown how many will injured or killed in the crossfire. These are dangerous individuals who care not for the well being of secondaries. It is our time to take action before it’s too late.
Langweilig Town has always been an experiment. It was to prove if the people of Camelot could colonize the unruly Tangled. While we have been successful thus far, recent events has shown us exactly what we are up against. Even if we survive the oncoming onslaught, whose going to protect us from the next dangerous foe for whom has decided to darken our roads with their presence.
Our jails are weak, our security has holes, the forest still remains untamed, and our populace is as divided as ever. I don’t think we could have lasted much longer before things went as horribly as they did.
So, effective immediately, I am issuing an official evacuation and relocation of the whole town. We will go back to Camelot and write this whole thing off as a failure. I’m sorry it has to end this way, but it has been proven we can’t handle it.

The Mayor of Langweilig[/float]

  Daemon and the Devout
Posted by: Vulre Oakenlimb - 03-13-2015, 10:20 AM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (10)

'Crona' and Jon stood before Sivo. The Daemon drew a blade, waving it around in what it interpreted as a display of skill. The creature had evidently not been in the reality long, if it thought such moves would intimidate him. Nonetheless, its ability to move such a weapon was a testament to its unholy vitality. The foul being seemed energized by the prospect of violence. Jon, however, was the more dangerous combatant. He had refrained from drawing his blade, and remained in a state of tension. Such discipline and skill would be admirable, had it not been displayed in his foe. His brother remained to the side, evidently unarmed. Once this purge was completed, they would have to talk. The newcomer babbled nonsense, but that was inconsequential. Of immediate concern were the opposing combatants. Let the purgation of Coruscant commence.

Sivo's few remaining muscles tensed, along with the cables and wiring running through his augmentics. The tines extended from his body alighted with an emerald glow, as he expelled a blast of energy from his bionic hand, aiming to separate the two combatants, leaving them vulnerable. The psychological impact it may have on Jon Curious paternal instincts. Possibly a compensation? "By the pulse of the world, does yours end." Arcs of green energy ravaged the ground, and the two combatants were illuminated by the power flooding from Sivo as it wracked their bodies. Jon twisted in the electric maelstrom, bolts of electricity shooting up and down his flesh, leaving scorch marks across his skin, and contact burns where he grasped his blade. Frustratingly, he had managed to evade the worst of it.. Sivo hissed a burst of scrapcode in annoyance as he looked upon 'Crona'. The Daemon had been in the tempest of energy Sivo had unleashed, but stood largely intact, seeming more annoyed than anything else The Daemon knows only how to destroy and corrupt. Expect it to be adept at doing so.. Sivo hauled himself from the turret hatch of the Chimera, grabbing his lascarbine, and taking up a position of its roof. Sivo let off a round, scorching the rockcrete near 'Crona', as the crowds of panicked civilians began to scream and flee from the unfolding battle. "You shall be cast back into hell, Daemon." Sivo issued from his Vox-Grille. "The Thirty Four Thousand, Two Hundred, and Eighty Seven souls your ilk consumed aboard The Aquilline will be avenged." His crimson robes swept around him in the breeze, as he pushed his hood back, in order to optimize his vision. His steel-plated visage gazed out at the Daemon and its companion, as they began to plot their next attack. Lumien reserves depleted. Chance of victory: 32.915%. Sivo dismissed the warning. The Omnissiah was with him, and the others had nothing more than metal blades. His faith was strong, as was the steel coating his body. Litanies to the Machine God ran through his head, fortifying his resolve. The Daemon would die here. Its abused mortal shell would be burnt to ashes, and Jon would be dealt with by the local arbites. After all, how could they not side with the holy messenger of the Omnissiah? Was this not the sole bastion of the Imperium of Man in this demented Daemon's playground?
Luminien reserves depleted. 20 Seconds until Ferric Repulsion expires.
On the Run [Mami]
Posted by: Harry Dresden - 03-13-2015, 12:48 AM - Forum: The Vasty Deep - Replies (15)

Harry ran from the Coruscant gate, ignoring the confused looks from the people there and the angry shouts from the soldiers behind him. He didn't know where Samus had run to and he didn't have time to contact her. He tried to get his bearings as best he could, but mostly he just went towards the sea. It wasn't hard to find that, since it seemed the gate had deposited him on an island. He had to change direction often to shake his pursuers, and he ran into a few dead ends along the way, but he didn't have to fire off any more spells or take any more laser shots.

The wizard's mad dash eventually got him to a dock, where he spotted a sailboat tied to the dock. Without any time to lose, the wizard threw his staff into the boat and untied the rope before jumping in himself. Retrieving his implement from the floor of the tiny little craft, he used a wind spell to fill the boat's sails, carrying him away from the island to a chorus of angry shouts.

He felt bad, and not just because he was tired. He'd caused a huge commotion, had to skirt the edge of hurting a lot of people, barely made it out of Coruscant alive, and now the freaking Empire was after him. Safely out to sea, Harry released the spell and laid down in the little sailboat, carefully distributing his weight so as not to tip it. The shots he'd taken hurt like hell now that adrenaline wasn't helping him. He supposed the mantle would have problems muting the pain of pure, concentrated light. Winter was a force of cold and dark more than light and warmth, after all.

It might not have been the best decision, but Harry decided to put off calling Samus for the moment.

He needed a nap.

  Medusa Gorgon
Posted by: Medusa - 03-12-2015, 12:32 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (5)

Character Change: Homura->Medusa Gorgon

Character name: Medusa Gorgon

Character source: Soul Eater

Character history:
Medusa was one of the Gorgon Sisters, being the second born. Eight hundred years ago, she assisted Arachne in her fight with Death. However, she later betrayed her and left her for dead. Since then, she began creating “Black Blood”. Centuries later, she had a child she named Crona. She then melted a demon weapon known as Ragnarok with the black blood and replaced Crona’s own blood with Black Blood. Since then, she gained an interest in harnessing Madness. She decided to pose as a nurse at Shibusen to learn where the Kishin was sealed.

Medusa located the Kishin and teamed up with Eruka, a fellow witch she managed to get into her control, Free, a person who she freed to help her and Crona, her own child. She had sent Eruka and Free down to revive the kishin while she dealt with Stein the greatest Meister the DWMA had to offer.

The battle had started and Medusa appeared like she had the upper hand with her various attacks. However Stein had managed to put his death scythe in a way that it was threatening to slice Medusa in half, luckily Medusa herself had Stein in a position to where her tail snake was threatening to stab through his neck. Stein had Medusa frozen in place thanks to his soul, they were at a standstill.

Soon a roar had erupted throughout the place, letting Medusa know that the Kishin was awakening. During this exact moment Stein took the chance and sliced through Medusa, that would have been the case if she hadn’t disappeared from the spot as the scythe touched her skin. Stein had looked around but he couldn’t see any traces of Medusa. He was nervous, he didn’t know where the powerful witch had gone.

Physical Description: Medusa is a woman with a fairly average physical build. She has large, black, dotted snake tattoos wining down both her arms. Her facial features consist of eyes containing yellow irises with black pupils, and blonde hair arranged in a spiked style, with two long strands extending downwards framing the sides of her face, that entwine each other like a caduceus’ snake to rest upon her chest. She usually wears a black body-length suit with a hood, which extends downwards to her knees. The hood itself is adorned with an eye-like marking upon both sides which, when worn in addition to the shape of her hair, gives it the appearance of a snake’s mouth, with teeth and fangs. Medusa also has a tail which is shaped like an arrow(Tail Snake). It is notable that she is always barefoot, when not in disguise, with unique toenail and fingernail polish that is black featuring yellow arrows pointing upwards. When Medusa gets serious or just wants to be scary her face takes on the likeness of a snake.

Vector Arrow(Requires Ranged Proficiency-300): Vector arrows come from Medusa's back and go towards her enemy. The vector arrow looks like a black arrow with a purplish hue. The vector arrows come that come from Medusa's back are pre-programed to go a certain way. Unlike her previous vector arrows Medusa cannot manipulate them to go another way, once they have a set course they cannot be redirected by Medusa. Medusa may only have five arrows out at one time.

Vector Blade(Requires Physical Strength-300): Vector arrows compress into a large and sturdy sword. The sword is black just like her vectors and has a glowing purple hue outlining the edges. The sword is five feet long and it's blade has a width of five inches.

Tail Snake(Requires Physical Strength, Master Acrobats-300 Om): Tail snake is a specific Vector arrow that is located protruding near Medusa’s tailbone. The tail snake is like an extra limb, allowing Medusa to freely control it. However it is limited to a distance of three feet, it is a lower range than what it was. The tail snake helps her keep her own balance. The tail snake can support Medusa’s entire weight, allowing her to use it to stand if she wanted, giving her free access to use her feet for whatever she wanted. Tail snake can also be used to strike enemies that is three feet away from her. The tail snake can extend from it’s spot a total of three feet.

  That Which Nightmares Wrought
Posted by: Sarah_Kerrigan - 03-12-2015, 05:47 AM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (1)

Quote:A creature summoned by Sarah's dream finds a home in Tier 7.

The streets were rife with trash; abandoned remnants of civilization that had tried and failed to establish itself this low beneath its poverty line. Criminals ran amuck and the pungent aroma brought many that had not grown accustomed to it, to their knees with persistent nausea. Although what else is to be expected - from landfills the leftovers and the scrapped wreckage - from the forgotten troubles of the Empire, their ‘lost’ memories of new beginnings, and the cost of order in what otherwise would in fact be considered an unstable society? It is among all the ruined tolls and pains of akin world-builders that care naught for those beneath them, that the possibility of insanity takes root. Those that are left to rot, become corrupted to the core. Although, life always finds away even in the insane, the enfeebled and forsaken parts of all realities. It exists.

A beast crawled about on all-fours, sniffing at the ground. Dog-like in form at a quick glance, but a studied gaze would see the horrible truth: a monster with fangs, spikes, tendrils and teeth. The purple flesh seemed hardened round a grey carapace, as though grown, then birthed with exact proficiency - an exact copy of what had came before it. Whence it came, it either could not recall, or simply did not care. And although its arrival left it disorientated, a quick survey as a trained spotter, gave it new-found purpose, a reason to exist.

It made light grunts upon finding out new scents and scouting their ultimate burial mounds, and uttered high pitched squeals at those shadows that challenged its presence. It may have been fast, scuttling and darting about, but it knew well enough that it was the only of its kind in the immediate vicinity. Its strength came through number and stealth. Any time any of the vagrants would draw close - perhaps wondering what it was that lurked about in the dark - it found a new hiding place. The creature would loiter, find a new scent and thereafter move on into other decrepit places. Caring little for why it was here, and even less about where it was.

It kept out of the way of the gangs of streeters; the loosely bound formations of humanoids it barred its sharp and many teeth at, and glared at through piercing-yellow eyes. Occasionally as it passed, rushing by, it would latch onto a wall or a broken bit of structure, lunging forward with a clawed appendage and swinging itself quickly around a corner, so as not to be seen by the chem-addict injecting his or herself (as the case may be) with a newfangled drug or mixed formula. Sometimes though afterward, it would linger studying the human’s reaction to the injection with an analytical mind, but never long enough to be discovered. Throughout most of its first night, it studied Tier 7 of Coruscant that was now its home, and its internal clock ticked on.

The morning after it had been summoned passed slowly. Many of those probed the night before now slept wherever they had fallen and passed out. Others though were fresh in the eyes, and actually treading along new territory, thieving what little of value they could find in the pockets of those still alive, and those that were dead. A few times, the menace had been seen and the onlookers had threatened to surround it entirely. However, a few quick springs forward and it bounded away from those whom were not so light-footed. Although bred to fight, this creature could understand when its prey was so feeble as to not be a threat. As the smell of death crept through every crevice of the locale, it determined that these were the castoffs of whatever lived here, and not worth any time or risk that came with pursuit and subsequent extermination. Information was needed, not blood and death.

Yet the thought solved nothing of its predicament. It’s not as though it lacked purpose: it knew it needed to procreate, to continue on adapt to any change as best it could, but the haze that enveloped its mind clouded most of its perceptions. It left only vague possibilities of where its kin may lie, and then no guarantee that any existed at all on this world. There was only that pang - the empty feeling - and the reverberation of a linked existence other than its own herein. Drawn across an incredibly distance, it would be foolish to seek it out, despite that fact that it could be tracked high above the current elevation. The attempt would most likely lead to an untimely demise. Still on its own, it could not permit its own destruction to serve that, which on this planet, did not exist. The information in its mind would at some time, prove useful, and until then it would remain alive.

The musing inside the now ever so quiet mind, left it vulnerable. A simple miscalculation, a lone misstep, and a single footfall too close, let its presence be known. Several figures stood tall. They appeared for all extents and purposes human, and seemed certain that the grotesque hound-like thing that peered at them, was not a product of their imagination, or a drugged-up hallucination, but instead real. They reacted as most do upon that which they do not know or understand, violently. Sprinting forward they donned what weapons they had, knives, shivs a hold-out blaster a few had - that probably did not work in the first place - and sought to intimidate through sheer number. They yelled a lot of what it assumed to be profanities, and made clumsy attempts to stab and strike it. A few laser-bolts missed their mark as well.

Nimbly the horror leapt, ran and outmaneuvered the sluggish humanoids. This they did not like, so they shouted more and others came. But by the time they arrived, they only saw their own brethren. In the meantime, it had slipped between a hole in their defense. Then, continued to trot further and further away. Finally, it latched onto the wall of one of the many smog-ridden factories that once brought rapid progress, and climbed as high as it could. There for a time it knew it needed to rest. With the thudding of its heart slowing, it shut its eyes and fell into a brief respite. When it would stir again, it would scout and learn more of the species that shared its home. After all they would need to be dealt with. Around where it laid a small tumor of gray grew and it breathed lightly, dreaming of a Terran with fiery red hair and striking green eyes: a telepath like itself. The creep crept from no apparent source whatsoever.

Neku went to the clinic that the Stormtrooper had marked on the map for him, realizing that he'd never given the man his name. When he walked in the door, the staff picked him out immediately, and it wasn't hard to see why. Someone with orange hair and purple clothes might not stand out in Shibuya, but Coruscant seemed to operate on a much more subdued color scheme. The doctor's visit was uneventful; a nurse cleaned his cuts and bandaged them properly, and sent him on his way with a brief "That's really all that needs doing, they weren't that deep and you should heal without any complications now. You are a Prime, after all."

Neku didn't quite understand what Prime meant, except that he was one and a lot of residents weren't. He pulled out his phone out of habit, and he almost dropped it when it did something that hadn't happened in weeks.

It rang.

Not the short notification tone of an incoming text message, or the abrupt beep that missions caused. It was ringing. Tentatively, Neku answered the call. "Hello?"
