  Roleplaying Life Questions

Do I need a move to own a communicator? Or a data pad that can access the Dataverse? What about money? Can I have a bank account and a safety deposit box?

Also. If my roleplay were to contain mature elements do you want me to tag it with an [M]?

  Help with Darkseid Boss Event?
Posted by: Chloe Price - 05-10-2015, 09:33 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (3)

I was gonna make an event for battling Darkseid in the Ashen Steppes. You know...Increase the activity...But I need moderator help.
Let's start with the reward, besides that ol' "defeat the villain" and the bonus for group events.
After that, we can move on to a balanced way to do this that will still make the thing compelling and extremely challenging to battle, even in a group.
And finally, the big one...Can I or can I not create an account for Darkseid for the event?

  Tartaros
Posted by: Guest - 05-10-2015, 04:29 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (5)

Character name: Tartaros

Character source: Warhammer 40k/Original

Character history: From a universe that centres around a war-torn galaxy by countless factions, Tartaros was born on a desert-like world that is but a long-gone memory to himself. He was one of the many show-fighters of the pits as a young man. Eventually however, he was conscripted into the militia of one of the many lords who ruled over the cities in order to quell a civilian uprising. Displaying great feats of cunning of strength, he was brought to the notice of the minute garrison of Luna Wolves stationed on the world. In the passing and struggle of trial after trial, Tartaros was finally granted the honour of being inducted into the posthuman Adeptus Astartes.

Leaving the world, he fought throughout the earliest parts of the Great Crusade, participating in the conquering of Cthonia, where the legion's primarch, Horus Lupercal, awaited them. The victory at Cthonia was great indeed, raising the spirits of the legion immensely and driving them to great deeds, conquering great swathes of the galaxy in the name of the new Imperium of Man, ruled by the Emperor of Mankind.

Eventually, after almost three-hundred years of conquering world after world, system after system, Horus was almost struck down by a blow from a traitorous friend. The primarch was, under the advice of Erebus, sent to be "healed" by a group of natives known as a Serpent Lodge.

When Horus came back, he was... changed, he acted strangely, communicating with several other primarchs, many a regimental general, and even the Fabricator-General of the Mechanicus himself, Kelbor Hal. His next military course of action was to move with several legions: his own Luna Wolves, by now redubbed the Sons of Horus, the Death Guard, Emperor's Children and World Eaters, to the world of Isstvan III, seemingly to quell an uprising. Though Horus had a different plan, one he came up with after his "healing" by the Serpent Lodge, to destroy the most loyal elements of the legions and eventually destroy the Imperium itself, reshaping it in a way he envisioned.

Horus, now corrupted by the dark gods that the Serpent Lodge and Erebus himself worshiped, ordered the events that would later become known as the Virus-Bombing of Isstvan III and Battle of Isstvan III, a complete massacre of any loyalist elements of the legions he turned to his side. There were less than a hundred survivors of that fateful attack, stowed away on the frigate known as the Einstein, at the closing end of the battle. Amongst these fateful, or perhaps cursed few, was the now-veteran Tartaros.

After providing testimonial of Horus' betrayal on Terra, Tartaros was assigned to a position in the newly-formed Inquisition along with a majority of the survivors of the Isstvan III massacre, though this position has been long since forgotten by himself and the Imperium at large.

Through the years after, Tartaros fought tooth-and-nail, though after the result of the Horus Heresy, the Imperium... changed, at least in his eyes... the loyalist primarchs started dying one-by-one, and an odd air of fanaticism started to take hold of the Imperium, cults dedicated to the former glory of the now near-death Emperor began to spring up, some even taking hold of parts of the Imperium. The final straw came with the creation of the "Ecclesiarchy", an organisation that seemingly went against all the old Imperium stood for, seemingly... Tartaros finally snapped, and in a fit of anger, almost killed several members of the new Inquisition and Ecclesiarchy, fleeing the Imperium out into the reaches of the galaxy.

For many millennium afterward, he has wandered through the material realm, and on occasion even the dreaded Immaterium, fought with and against forces of the Imperium, xenos and traitors alike, almost ten thousand years after his leave from the Imperium, he was yet against set upon by the dangers that plague that galaxy, a massive traitor warband. In the thick of combat, he disappeared, with a flashing and violent light...

(apologies if this was somewhat... wordy, I have a tendency to over-elaborate on some things)

Physical Description: Tartaros is rather large and as bulky as any other Astartes, standing a few inches shy of eight feet tall when armoured. His body is covered throughout with scars and other marks, as well as specks of dirt and muck. His hair and unkempt facial hair are rather thick, if very short, and obviously graying.

His powered armour is rather obviously scavenged, though it still bears the traditional Luna Wolves scheme of dark grey and red, the materials bear the mark of various slapdash replacements and high levels of damage along all parts of it, some areas of the arms, pauldrons and torso are even torn open or missing altogether. The helmet in particular is a mark 4 "Maximus" pattern, though the normally recognizable respirator is almost impossible to notice under the plethora of bullet holes and slashes, even the left eyepiece seems to be utterly broken.

Stats:
ATK: 4
DEF: 3
SPD: 1
TEC: 2

Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Proficiency (1000 OM)
Ranged Proficiency (1000 OM)

Starting Powers:
Survival (2000 OM)

Starting Moves:
Chainsword /w Exterminator Cartridge (600 OM, requires Physical Proficiency and Ranged Proficiency)
A somewhat poorly maintained weapon, its scavenged nature is apparent. Along one of its two sides is an affixed set of intimidating, sharp and bone-like teeth, ready to begin tearing foes at the push of a trigger. Attached to the blades basket guard is a small Exterminator Cartridge, a flamer-like device ready to spit forth a torrent of flame with a single motion by the wielder. The cartridge is heavily limited, with a very short range and inability to store more than a shots worth of promethium at a time.

Tigrus-Pattern Bolter (300 OM, requires Ranged Proficiency)
An old semi-automatic rifle design of Tartaros' universe, firing roughly 2 rounds each second, utilized to effectively penetrate armour and blow through tough targets, in the right hands it can be very intimidating indeed. Somewhat heavy and very sturdy indeed, its recoil is considerable, though ultimately manageable by most strong humans. Tartaros, accustomed to assaults, tends to fire ranged weapons while moving, at least in close-quarters, ultimately sacrificing a level of accuracy while keeping mobility. There is one near-fatal flaw for the bolter however, and that is that the production of ammunition for it is rather difficult, with even the most elite of warriors only having a few magazines worth of rounds.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

Note - I was introduced to this forum by the player of Sivo Sigma-3177 and Okor.

That Has Such People In It
Posted by: Mickey Mouse - 05-10-2015, 02:04 PM - Forum: Camelot - Replies (13)

Mickey was back home.

Or so he thought, upon entering Camelot. Birds greeted his large ears with their songs, the sky glistened blue above him, and picturesque green hills rolled out in front of him, just the way they did when he looked out on his own kingdom. Way off in the distance, a white castle sat triumphantly on a hill, not unlike his own castle back home. He had half a mind to start humming ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah.’

It seemed too good to be true, and Mickey could not help but gape at the gorgeous, familiar countryside. “This… this is amazing,” he squeaked, his awe and nostalgia overwhelming him. He tried his best to not sound too much like a tourist. He completely failed, of course.

“Yeah, isn’t she fine?” Conan smiled, swelling with pride about his homeland. “This, little lad, is Came—HOLY FUCKING SHIT, LOOK OUT!”

Conan dove and tackled the King to the ground, barely dodging the fiery blast meant to take him out. Mickey looked up to see a gigantic, green-skinned man standing atop a nearby plateau. He wielded a long, oaken staff with spikes jutting out the end of it; undoubtedly, this had been the source of his magic.

Looked like it was too good to be true, after all. Ah, well—a mouse could dream.

“Oh boy, the nerve,” Mickey pushed Conan off of him and stood up, placing a hand on his keyblade and eyeing the shaman above him. He scowled deeply—this was no way to greet a guest—and waited for the green man to make his next move.

The shaman flashed Mickey his best attempt at a toothy smile—to say he needed some dental work would be a gross understatement—and lowered his staff. Mickey had no time to feel triumphant, however, before two more of the hulking green men emerged from the shadows of the forest where they lurked. Even larger than the shaman, they appeared to be warriors rather than magic-users; one held an oversized, two-handed axe, and the other held a large war-hammer at his side. They flanked their leader, and Mickey’s grip on his keyblade tightened.

“I really, really don’t wanna fight you,” the mouse frowned, “and I bet you don’t wanna fight me either.”

The shaman laughed—well, it sounded more like a grunt, but still—and his ugly grin just widened. He motioned ever-so-slightly with his head, and the two other fighters charged, leaping off the plateau and sprinting toward Mickey, waving their big, scary weapons wildly.

Alright, Mickey shrugged, unsheathing his keyblade and bending at the knees, you asked for it.

The first grunt swung his battle-axe, but Mickey’s feet had already left the ground. The mouse flipped over him, landing on the ground just in time to duck underneath the second guy’s hammer. The pair of grunts stumbled past him as their blows missed, and Mickey turned around, aiming his keyblade at the hammer guy’s back and shooting a blast of Light energy from its tip.

The spell hit the monster; with his balance already shaken, it easily sent him sliding in the dirt. He slid across the ground and into the portal, disappearing from sight as he left Camelot and entered the Nexus. One down, one to go.

While Mickey had been dealing with Hammer Time, the axe-man had regained his composure, and stared the mouse down. The King squatted into his battle stance, ready to do combat with the giant, but as soon as the monster looked poised to strike, a sword blade emerged from his abdomen, and his eyes went cold. Mickey stiffened at the sight of the green man’s blood emerging from the wound, and stepped back slightly, his mouth dropping open. Conan removed his sword from the creature’s body, and it fell to the ground with a loud thump. Mickey swallowed nervously.

He had landed in a violent world.

“Watch yer back, lad!” Conan shouted, pointing to the shaman above, and Mickey spun around just in time to see another blast of flame hurtling his way. He rolled to the side and quickly fired off another Pearl at the shaman, but the magician turned and slipped back into the shadows of the forest before he could get a good shot. Instead, the white blast collided with the cliff face, and Mickey slumped onto the ground.

If the mouse’s face could look pale, it surely would right now. He tried and tried, but he could not shake the feeling of shock that had crept over him when Conan had killed that man. The Camelot scout must have seen something wrong in him, too, because he moved toward the King much more cautiously than before.

“Tha’—” he stammered nervously, “—uh, tha’ was very impressive, little lad. Ye handled that orc like a pro.” Mickey scoffed a little bit. Conan stepped away, but he did not take his eyes off the mouse. Mickey surmised that the soldier had not expected him to be such an adept swordsman.

“Why’d ya have to kill him?” Mickey asked, looking up at the human man.

“Because… ‘cause he was tryin’ to kill us, Mick!” Conan shouted, incredulous. Mickey had never been comfortable with death. He believed—or he liked to believe, anyhow—that there was always another way. He only ever killed the Heartless, or irredeemable creatures like that. These… ‘orcs’ seemed different. They seemed more civilized. They seemed worth saving.

Gosh, he needed a hug right now.

He would not get one, though—instead, he picked himself up off the ground, and brushed the dirt off of his shorts. “Alrighty then,” he smiled as warmly as he could, trying his best to put on a positive demeanor. “Let’s keep goin’, then.”

  There and Back Again
Posted by: Darth Vader - 05-10-2015, 01:47 PM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

As they crossed back into the next verse, Jon soon grew re-accustomed to the sights and surrounding of the Nexus.

A plain white canvas. Everywhere you walked, there was just white... there was little to see other than just that, though if you peered far enough off into the distance, the tips and arches of other gates which led to different verses became quite visible. Outposts and smaller encampments were still masked away, clouded by the white mists and fogs that hung around everywhere.

As they paced away from the gate, the Stormtroopers leading him were quite affirmative on where they were going. One of the Empire's many outposts that dotted the plains of the Nexus. This one was much closer to the Corucsant gate, though, and a mandatory pass for those wishing to pass the gate. It served as a border control of sorts, allowing desirables in and keeping the more reviled and troublesome of the Omniworld's citizens out.

The outpost was an extremely brief walk away from the gate. When they arrived, the Troopers patrolling the place allowed them in with no questioning glance or second doubt. They were able to navigate the minuscule encampment with ease, moving into an area that resemble something of a depot; vehicles both in fine states and disarray were placed and littered around the small yard. In the centre of things sat a golden speeder which could accommodate two people. A mechanic was knelt down by the car, apparently making smoke final touches and adjustments to the hovercars form.

"Gus" one of the Stormtroopers spoke up, the mechanic now revealed as Gus turning his head to look up at him. "Sergeant Josef..." the mechanic stood from his kneeling, dropping his tools for just a moment to greet the soldier. "It's nice to see you in good form, Sergeant" the mechanic spoke with a slight smile, extending his hand for a shake. Sergeant Josef stared down at his palm for a few moments, before lifting his own gaunleted hand to shake hands with the engineer.

"Likewise" the Sergeant smirked faintly through his helm. "I'm sure we can catch up on things later, Gus. But for now, I'm going to need that speeder" he continued as Gus opened his mouth to speak, silencing the mechanic almost immediately. "Ohh, urrhh, yes..." Gus spun back around, moving back over to the golden speeder, brushing his flat hand against the car's steel.

"She's all gassed up and ready to go, no problem" the mechanic nodded, reaching into his pockets to pull free a set of keys, tossing them over to the Trooper in a swift motion. "Just make sure I get the keys back, right? This isn't my car, after all... it's... the Empires."
Gus's lips formed into a tight, nervous line. He moved a hand to scratch the back of his head and re-adjust his cap.

"Right, of course" Josef nodded, dangling the key between his fingertips. As the mechanic hurried back over to the makeshift table and to his work, Josef stepped over to the speeder, with Jon following suit. "Any orders for me, Sergeant?" the silent and still-nameless Trooper piped up. Josef glanced to the Private as he and Jon climbed into the speeder. "I'm posting you here, for now. Never hurts to have an extra man at the outposts. We're on such a shortage already due to indecent primes" Josef grumbled. The Private did a small salute of understanding. "Roger that, sir" the Private responded before moving off, looking to make himself useful elsewhere.

Josef buckled up and slotted the key into vehicle's keyhole, to boot it up. Jon did the same, having been made more the wiser about cars and seat belts following his last recent dealing with a hover car in Corucsant. The engine stared up with a whir as the speeder slowly levitated up from the ground, Josef's hands carefully gripping around the steering wheel.

The speeder went into a forward starting motion as his foot pressed against the pedal. The Sergeant was careful to drive at a slow pace, now wishing to run any of his comrades posted around the outpost down. As they reared away from the encampment, the car picked up it's pace a little bit, with Josef pressing his foot down harder against the pedal (though still cautious and slow enough to make sure he didn't accidentally run someone down from not seeing them through the fog).

Jon inhaled sharply as they drove deeper and deeper into the white mist, the cloudy vapours submerging them completely from the eye's view. He sat back uncomfortably in his chair, quietly trying to enjoy the ride.

Darkness. It was completely black.

She liked it that way.

Claire Ferguson blinked her eyes a couple times, just to make sure they were in fact open. They were. She turned her head to the side as if she was going to magically see another color. She turned her body all the way around, investigating her surroundings, but there was nothing but blackness all around her. Her first instinct was to look for a light source, like a torch, but she realized quickly that wasn't an option. She wasn't in a room. She was floating in a space. Her feet weren't touching the ground. Her next step was to use her own light - so her small hands came up in front of her. When she brought the shadow energy to her fingertips, it did in fact light up it's surroundings - she could see her hands glowing pink to match the shade of her light. But there was nothing else around her. Nothing else to illuminate.

She was used to darkness. Living her life as a bright pink girl made her wanting those dark colors in her life. But she couldn't even call this color black. It wasn't a shade or a tone. It was nothing. She was literally surrounded by nothing.

The girl known to her friends as Blink tried to remember where she was last. Did she die? She could remember different things about herself - but not everything. Only key elements. She was born in Jamaica. Then there was...Apocalypse. Him. She was a prisoner. Then she wasn't. Then she was...an X-Men. That word stirred something in her. Pride. Annoyance. Loyalty. Then there was another team. A smaller team, but with a much more important mission. It was...The Exiles. Her chest puffed up a bit as memories flooded her. The X-Men were team, but the Exiles were her team. She led them across the dimension vortex, righting wrongs in countless universes. But the memories came to an end. No conclusion, just an end. Claire tried to think of her latest memory, but she couldn't pin-point it. She didn't know what happened that led her to this...void.

Something moved in front of her. She brought her hands up defensively, summoning a glowing pink dagger in front of her face, holding it like it was a machete in a knife fight. There was a figure in front of her now. Glowing. Grinning.

“My name is Omni." The figure said. She squinted her eyes, mainly out of confusion. "This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

What made the speech annoying was that he - or at least she assumed it was a he - didn't make any reaction to what she was doing. She could move her hand. She could grip her dagger. But he just kept on talking, like it was a pre-recorded speech, not made especially for her. It made her kind of frustrated, so her lips opened to talk. But she couldn't. No noise came out. She squinted again, this time out of anger. She couldn't even express her irritation, which only served to make her that much more frustrated.

Her dagger suddenly disappeared, causing her to gasp. In it's place was a bright, glowing orb, shining with all of the colors of the standard rainbow. It light up this darkness around her. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."

Blink gripped the orb. It sounded silly. It sounded important.

Omni continued: “You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

Claire didn't really listen to the last part. She heard it, but she wasn't really processing it. She was focused more on what was going to happen next. This figure - Omni - disappeared and the Omnilium (or whatever it was called) in her hand went with him. She suddenly felt herself land on something - or rather, it felt like the ground came up underneath her. Then everything changed around her.

Brightness. White. Every single thing around her was glowing white.

She hated it.

"What the hell?" she cursed, her magenta arm coming up to shield her face from all of the light. This new place she was in was the opposite was that black void. She was standing on a floor at least, but it was completely white. She realized that she had just talked, and looked at herself as it to clarify that she was in fact real. "Okay, well...I guess this is a start." She looked up in front of her to see where she was.

There was a tall tree in front of her. It looked familiar - and with good reason. It was thick, aged and covered in vines all around it, with a waterfall spraying right through the trunk towards the top, into a fountain below. This was the Tree of Pietra. The beautiful piece of wilderness she had found with her love in the Overgrown Earth universe. This was the tree where she truly found her place in the universe. It was where she realized that every universe - every planet - every person - was worth fighting for, no matter how grim or dark.

She took a step forward just to put her slender fingers against the base of the tree. To feel it. It felt like it was a live. Like it had a heartbeat inside it. Her heart fluttered. She couldn't help but feel like this three had been put there just for her. Specifically for her to see.

All of the anger and annoyance washed away from her. She felt like she was Home.

  Dante's Abyss Power Rankings
Posted by: Karl Jak - 05-10-2015, 11:25 AM - Forum: Dataverse Messageboards - Replies (7)

'Power Rankings' are a concept used in sports and other stuff to rank teams in a way other than things like Win-Loses and other factors. In the interest of not only fostering a little more (friendly) competitiveness, I made power rankings for prospective entrants in Dante's Abyss. I took everyone who posted in the unofficial intent thread, and for those who I wasn't sure about, I put an asterisk next to their name.

Since the event has only just started, the list was made from the following factors -- Activity (overall and recently), potential pairings, experience with the Omniverse, and how established a character is.

Sometime between the 21st and the 25th, I'll post 'End of Pre-Show' Power Rankings that will incorporate activity during the pre-show (as a major, major factor). I will then post lists every IC day so that people can have a sense of their performance.

I wrote it as I imagine Karl Jak would have, if he had been watching these prospects for the last few weeks. From an OOC standpoint, I just want to say that a shit-ton of you are extremely close in terms of writing quality, so there were times when it was really really hard to put some people where they are.

DA Power Rankings – Pre-Preshow

Unranked – Samus – Too little to go off of and too too many variables. As with G-Man, activity during the pre-show could thrust both of you in the upper-half/upper-quarter of the contestant field.

35. (NPC) Pepsiman – Product placement will make you some extra money, but it won’t help you win Dante’s Abyss. This man will have a lot to prove.

34. Ganondorf – Will the Tyrant King of the Desert rise from the sands and slaughter everyone? Will his Silver Dragon propel him into the late game? It’s possible, but it’s also possible that he isn’t able to muster the activity. The question marks hamper his spot in the rankings. Any preshow performance at all could greatly upset these rankings.

33. Mickey Mouse - Activity is why you're here, and nothing else. You have the previous experience to know how to handle yourself in a situation like this, but I need to see some proof in the pre-show that you're ready to roll with the big dogs.

32. Victor – Unknown, which isn’t a bad thing whatsoever. If you show up willing and wanting to prove something, you could build some momentum and go places.

32. Ze Flash – Another unknown, but it’s clear from just the short time you’ve been on the website that you won’t wither away under duress. That’s a good thing, for certain. You just need to get some good insulation (another level 1?) and you can go places.

32. Link – The same questions that I’d ask Ganondorf but with less rust on the package.

30. (NPC) Jason Voorhees - Dis gai. He's got supernatural strength, supernatural durability, and the uncanny ability to be everywhere at once. Plus he's mute and wears a cool hockey mask (personal note - Redwings suckkkk)

29. Jack Frost – There’s a growing talent beneath an icy shell. With a lot of expectations piled on, we expect to either see Jack flourish or wither on the island.

28. (NPC) Aero – This guy has the talent and drive to go places. He’s also cunning enough to survive in an environment familiar to him.

*27. Blackfire – Rusty and untested but a potential sleeper with enough miles to take one more long stab at glory.

26. Vincent – See Ganondorf, Link, and Blackfire – Vincent, if active, could easily worm his way into the top quarter of contestants.

25. Violet – Hampered by being Level 1 and being too fresh (a good partner could make or break). If you throw yourself into this as you’ve done in the past, you’ll have people sweating bullets down the road. I’ll keep an eye on you during the pre-show and we’ll see where you wind up on the eve of Day 1.

24. Neal – One of those really unique characters that will could boom or bust. I expect a really interesting strategy to form from this fourth-waller’s brain and look forward to what he does with the pre-show.

23. Carn_Val –Untested but with an absurd amount of potential to surprise some people who aren’t familiar with his body of work or what an interesting fella he is. I'll have my eyes on you during the pre-show, for sure.

22. Aang/Ezra - Showed his ability to hang with the big boys in the Pale Moors and managed to shine even under a giant personality (Aang). Less familiar with Ezra (apologies), but if the character and writing quality are the same, you shouldn't have a problem with either prospect. Go with whoever you'll be more comfortable with adapting and experiment with, and you could easily claw your way up.

21. Gin – BAW GAWDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Bring a steel chair. In all seriousness, Gin'll be an interesting fella to watch.

20. Mami/Agnes – Girl went toe-to-toe with Harry Dresden and only got KO’d because of SP. If the Mami that took Harry to the edge is the one that enters DA, y’all better recognize. Less familiar with Agnes, but the same statement said to Aang applies -- if the momentum is the same for both of them, you can rock either and do well.

19. Blink - I need to see how the rust plays a role, but as it stands, I can't deny that you probably have the best chance out of all the recent 'un-retirees.' You might even have been a little higher, but I can't overlook the fact that, as a Level 1 character, you'll be at a disadvantage if you run into a mismatched situation. I'll be curious to see what you write before the 'fun' starts.

18. (NPC) Cindy – She has an Artefact, which will make up for any lack of a starting Weapon, but at the moment, she lacks the gusto to really topple anyone

17. Neku – Somewhat untested, but look for this guy to spin things in a fascinating way and jam his way up the rankings. - Signed up as Harry Dresden instead

*16. Desco – The Final Boss could make a lot of lives miserable. I’ve heard rumblings of a DescoxGuu OTP, which would probably be ‘best for business’ for both of these ladies. I'll be curious to see how Desco adapts.

*T – 14. Edward – A guy with a lot to lose or a lot to gain! I expect that Ed will be willing to do what it takes to prove himself in such a setting.

T - 14. Alain – This guy is cunning enough to weasel his way through many of his peers. When pressed (like he was during his partnership in the Pale Moors), Alain can be a monster.

13. Gildarts – A potential sleeper who could easily get on a roll and start to crush people. The output this guy can generate is staggering, and if he can turn that into diamonds, he will stun.

12. Luffy – Can stretch survive on his own or will the island’s fast pace be his undoing? That will be the biggest factor when it comes to his success, because he already has the ability to doll out pain.

11. Sivo/Okor – Both similar characters and both really awesome characters. They’ll both be limited in DA, but I think that’ll actually bring out more in either of them.

T - 9. (NPC) Android 18 – She has a high handicap, Transformations, and Super Moves. With a good weapon, she will be a headache for the entire island.

T – 9. Strazio – It’ll be interesting to see what this guy’s strategy will be – Like many of the options near the second half of the list, he’ll be someone to keep an eye on before the festivities start and in the opening hours.

8. Sasuke – A potential boom or bust due to activity. Sasuke will either flourish or wilt, and what type of Day 1, Part 1 experience he has will set the tone for the rest of his time on the island. The ‘activity’ question is why the emo ninja isn’t higher on the list.

7. Guu – Probably the highest-ranking ‘boom or bust’ option, but I wouldn’t discount the prep work she’s done with Ambrosia. The variable here will be activity, and if Guu gets the ball rolling, I think the bruhs higher up should start to make contingency plans.

6. Jon Snow – Jon Snow is what I’d consider a ‘silent and deadly’ individual. He’s lower profile than some of the other people in the top 10 of this list, but he packs just as lethal a punch as many of them. Don’t discount the Bastard, or you could wind up being his bitch.

5. Doomguy – So many variables at play with this guy, but it’s clear that he is made for this environment, regardless of what sort of experience he might have on Day 1. He has a unique flair and the grit to go places. Of the higher-ranking players, he’s probably the one who could survive the best without peers.

4. Retane – He will talk trash, he will get in your head, and the worst thing is – He’ll jack up Retane enough people to make you start doubting whether or not he’s all bark and no bite. If this guy winds up with half-decent weapons, he will be a menace, and even if he doesn’t wind up with a half-decent weapon, he will be a menace. The Jack Frost question also provides its own level of intrigue. Retane knows how to play the game. His own worst enemy? Retane.

T-2. Whirda – Skill? Check. Tactical savvy? Check. Unfortunately for many individuals on this list, there aren’t many faults to be found here. Pending some sort of disaster or unfortunate turn-of-events, Whirda will not be a house of cards in this competition. And while her new artefact won't give her too much of an advantage, it provides her (or at least it should provide her) with a lot of momentum and confidence rolling into Dante's Abyss.

T-2. Gilgamesh – The King of Heroes has the ego, the skill, and the guile to manipulate and bulldoze his way into the Finale. But with great ego comes great paranoia… Will Gil thrive or will he be driven mad? That itself might make for one hell of a dramatic story arc.

1. Deadpool – Don’t let his charming nature fool you, this guy wants to kill all of you. He has the charm and skills needed to do so, and expect him take the path of least resistance and thrive pending some disaster. Worse than anything else, he has the experience of how to play the game to win, and while Retane talks a lot of bluster and machismo, its Deadpool’s past life who came within a few gunshots of the Grand Championship.
