Character name: Claire Ferguson / Blink
Character source: Marvel Comics (X-Men and The Exiles)
Character history: I'm trying to keep as much of a clean slate as possible, but this is the Blink from the Age of Apocalypse universe. Her family was killed in the uprising of Apocalypse and she was rescued by Sabretooth. She joined the X-men and eventually was brought into the Exiles, a team that crossed through the different universes to stop problems.
Physical Description:

Stats:
ATK: 1
DEF: 2
SPD: 5
TEC: 2
Starting Proficiencies:
Ranged Proficiency (1000)
Starting Powers:
Master Teleportation (2500)

Energy Javelins - Blink can use the energy she uses for her portals as offensive weapons, such as javelins or daggers. She typically uses as ranged weapons.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
Writing example:
From Anyria, on Chubbs. Account: Alura/Rayne
"I got it! I got it!"
The other teenagers scattered around the field came to a stop as the mayor's daughter suddenly lept forward at the leather ball in the air, running full speed towards where she anticipated it would land. The only other person near her was the defender, another slender female, who was doing a decent job of keeping up with her opponent. But the purple-haired Rayne used tunnel-vision to block her out, focusing entirely on catching the game-winning ball for her class' team. It wouldn't have been such a dramatic moment if not for the fact that the Bluebirds were down by two, and this five-point impossible catch would be a huge comeback win for the usual second-placers.
It felt like it was so far away, so the defender held back a bit; there was no way Rayne was going to make it to the ball. But still she ran across the field towards the goal zone, as if she actually stood a chance. That was when the crowd along the sidelines noticed the spark at the violet-topped girl's wrist, and the speed of her legs starting to increase. Rayne's eyes squinted as she located the ball in the air, her speed increasing as she left the defender in the dust. It seemed like she still might not make it, but the expert Jumpball player lept into the air, her height increased by the momentum from her speed, and allowed the ball to touch her fingers. She brought the ball down to her bosom, holding it against her chest as she fell backwards against the grass. By the time she had hit the ground and rolls backwards onto her knees, the defender appeared with a frown across her face, panting out her protest. "You cheated!" she accused between breaths. "You should be disqualified!"
Rayne was hardly listening to her. The slender teenager just stood up, her once-ponytailed mane falling out of the confines of her hair-tie after a hard fought match. She held the Jumpball between her arm and her hip, grinning at the sight of her celebrating team behind the sore loser, running at her. Before the losing player could protest further, both of them were swamped by the victorious Bluebirds. Rayne let out a squeal of cheer as two of her friends lifted her upwards onto their shoulders, both of her hands pumping into the air. One hand held the winning catch: a beaten up leather globe that turned the typical runner-ups into winners. The Babylon Bluebirds had beaten the Elmont Capitols from New Vesaria to avenge their previous losses, going from second place to the reigning champions. And it was all because of one catch.
"Congratulations Bluebirds, you are the Elmont Jumpball Champions!" Came the deep voice of the league's commisioner. "For the first time ever, the Ivory Tower Trophy is going to the town of Babylon!"
The crowd, large for a small sporting event, had begun to rush the field. Rayne was too lost in the moment to think about what she had done to secure the win: a whole seasons of blood, sweat and tears and the Bluebirds had finally become champions. She took the trophy as it was passed up to her and lifted it up above her head with the game ball. She screamed again cheerfully, just to get the excitement out of her body. It didn't work.
Nothing could upset her now.. There was nothing that could ruin her mood now.
Twenty-four hours later, Rayne was standing in the office her father, the mayor of the large town of Babylon. The trip home from the capital had been one of the funnest experienced of the season; getting to prank on the coach and enjoy her last little get-together with her team. They stayed up through-out the carriage ride to joke around and do what normal teenager do (something they had been unable to do with the seriousness of the game-planning). For the first time in a long time, Rayne felt less like the mayor's daughter and more like a simple make-up-loving, boy-gossipping young lady, giggling late into the night with her friend.
But now she stood in her house uniform, in front of the disappointed look that she could have sworn her father practiced on a regular basis. Her black and red outfit was smoothed and ironed, as if the maids had anticipated she would require it when summoned to her father's office. Even her hair, wrapped up in a neat purple bun, was created specifically to make her look less like a tomboy, and more like a politician's daughter.
"You used your crystal," said Mayor Babylon. He held up the round orb that his daughter usually kept in her bracelet. Her face flushed red and she looked down, deliberately avoiding contact like a pet who had been caught doing something they shouldn't. "In the middle of the capital, in front of a hundred spectators, you used magic to win a stupid game." She opened her mouth to protest, but he put a hand up, silencing her before she began. "Do you understand how embarassing that would be for this family if the only daughter to the Lordship of this town was caught cheating?"
"I didn't mean to!" She lied, but was doing her best to cover her tracks. "I just reacted! You don't understand, Dad, we had to win! They were being so mean! And this was my last year with the Bluebirds! I wanted to look good for the scouts!"
Her father 'clicked' his gums, making an annoyed sound at the idea of scouting. "I didn't even want you to join this silly trend, Rayne. You should be getting ready for higher education, getting you ready for marriage. Instead you're out there looking like a boy, and on top of that, you're cheating"
Once again, Rayne's eyes downcasted to the wood floor. She didn't really have a retaliation that wouldn't get her further into trouble, so it was best not to say anything. She knew he wouldn't listen when she spoke about not wanting to marry young, nor go to any instution to learn a trade. She wanted to compete...and the eighteen year old was looking at her first potential professional year in Jumpball if the scouts liked what they saw.
"Rayne," said the single father, "I want you to be happy. I do. But...there comes a point when father simply knows best. You're applying for college. Here in Elmont, close to home."
The girl's face drained for a moment. It was like all of the excitement that she had experienced over the last day was getting sucked out of her body. She had just won an amatuer championship match and led her team to their biggest victory ever...and he was punishing her? There was only one thing she could think of asking.
"Are you ever proud of me?!" She half-screamed, causing her father to make an expecting face, as if he knew her 'quiet' act was just that. Suddenly, she was became the rebellious daughter that he knew, and in a moment she would storm out. "I just brought home the biggest trophy this stupid family has ever gotten and you're making me go to some dumb school to I can make you look good! Well I'm not going! You can't make me!"
She spun around on her heels and did exactly as he expected. Her father just remained at his desk, thinking about her reaction, but not looking particularly bothered. The door slammed behind her, and all he could hear behind it was some very un-ladylike words coming from the other side.

Step 1: Make a post. This post should be at least 600 words. You may also post multiple times adding up to 600 words or more.
Step 2: Click on the name of your post. See it? It's probably something like 'Re: The Story of John Doe', a large line of text above your post. This should have a hashtag and your post link at the end of it (see the bolded part on the end here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1114&p=7298#p7298). Copy the entire URL from your address bar.
Step 3: Post it in the active fortnightly gains topic. The date of your post should be within the date range, GMT. If you are submitting multiple posts that add up to 600, post all the links.
Step 4 (optional): If you have posted in the current book club, please include a link to that post along with the text 'book club'.
Step 5 (optional): If you have a Recognition bonus, please include in your post 'Recognition bonus: +50'. If you have an Ascendancy bonus, please post with 'Ascendancy bonus: +100'.
That's all you need to do! When the topic is updated, you will be given 300 OM. Obviously if you have a recognition or ascendancy bonus, this will be increased by 50 or 100. A book club bonus will increase this by a further 100.
New fortnightly gains topics go up every second Sunday at midnight (at the end of Saturday and the dawn of Sunday) GMT. The valid time begins on Sunday at 0000 hours GMT and ends on Saturday at 2359 GMT.

Figured it would be fun to do personal lists of members we think could be "Dark Horses" in Dante's Abyss.
This is only for people that you don't consider favorites, but still think they have a legit chance of winning DA.
You can give reasons as to why you give the person a chance, or you can simply just jot down the list.
My List
Sasuke
Jon
Blackfire
Doomguy
Vincent Valentine
Ganondorf
Extra Note - Majority of my list is based off of the people that are entering, or I think might enter. This list can change over time.
IF you're not on a list, that does not mean the list maker doesn't think you can win. It just means that you're either one of their personal favorites, or they probably haven't read enough of your work to consider you.

Vincent sat quietly on the floor of the small dinghy, wringing seawater from his jet-black locks. He felt a deep chill against his flesh, his soggy clothing now failing to insulate against the chilly night air. His companions chatted idly, shoulder to shoulder at the controls. The tub moved slowly, the engine having been reduced a great deal to keep the group from being detected. Though the gunslinger knew that many of the empire's ships likely had RADAR and GPS technology, he hoped that he had crippled the Vulture's ship enough to prevent them from scrambling the troops. He no contingency plan whatsoever if the group were cornered; he could only put his faith in the brothers Sola and keep his eyes on the horizon.
“So, Costa del Sol.” Ral muttered from somewhere near the front of the ship. The trio had agreed to keep any lighting to a minimum to prevent detection. Aside from a dim light at the head of the ship to prevent colliding with drifting debris, they followed the path set by the ship's compass. “You think you'll find some information there?”
The ex-Turk thought for a moment. “I'm not entirely convinced, but it's the only idea I have.”
“Fair enough,” the boy responded.
The group had been drifting for around an hour, their snail-like pace keeping them from reaching shore as fast as they would have liked. Though none of them could tell if they were even headed in the right direction, Tal assured them that their destination was simply due North. Without any better alternative to offer, Vincent resigned himself to sitting and waiting. Although the trip back to shore was much longer than the trip to the Imperial frigate, he was not complaining. The silence of the night soothed the warrior's mind, his pulse falling to a rhythmic, lazy pace. He closed his eyes, reveling in the long calm.
A sudden, almost ghostly tune sneaked through the silence, at first barely audible. For a moment, the ex-Turk could barely differentiate it from the low hum of the engine. Curious, he opened his eyes and waited, listening intently for the sound to return. Minutes later the sound returned, drifting past the trio from somewhere in the distance.
“You guys hearing this too?” Tal inquired, flipping the throttle on the ship's dash. The engine slowed to a crawl before dying completely.
His companions did not reply, each awaiting the return of the call. A long moment passed before their ears were again met with the ghostly wail, this time slightly louder. Vincent furrowed his brow, pondering what could create such a sound. It was somehow familiar to him, as if he had heard this same tone somewhere before.
“Yeah, I can hear it.” Ral replied, taking a seat beside Vincent. He leaned over the side of the ship, glancing around as if he expected to see the source of the noise floating beside the ship.
Again, the call came. This time it seemed to be getting closer, though it still seemed to be quite far away. Vincent recognized the tone as more of a howl than a moan, sounding somewhat lupine if he had to guess. “Can you steer us in that direction?” The gunslinger inquired, squinting through the darkness in the general direction of the noise.
“Uh, I guess,” Tal responded. “But didn't you want to head to Costa del Sol?”
Vincent nodded toward the direction of Tal's voice. “Yes. But that howl seems...familiar, somehow.”
“You're the boss.” Tal replied, flipping the throttle once more. The engine awoke, the elder Sola directing its path toward the mysterious noise.

Death. It was the first thing Illidan smelled as he passed into the Pale Moors. It reeked of it. A thin grey fog hung in the air, a gossamer veil over moonlit grass and swaying trees. A cold wind rose goosebumps over his violet skin and tossed his fine black hair. Somewhere in the distance he heard the howl of a wolf, long and high, penetrating the stillness.
Illidan strode away from the portal and breathed deep. The stench of the undead assaulted his nose. He could never forget that terrible omen. That decay and rot that clung to risen skeleton bones, strips of skin hanging from skulls like a pallid cloth, eyes aglow with the unholy energies of the Burning Legion. Had they brought their unending curse to this universe as well? Illidan cracked his knuckles. Perhaps he would get his chance at redemption sooner than he thought.
The mist parted as Illidan walked through it, following a gritty trail being swallowed by encroaching grass. The faint buzz of insects played on his ears, but it was the crunch of vegetation that got his attention. Illidan spun, bucklers snatched off his belt, and expanded the blades of his warglaives.
"Who goes there?" Illidan said immediately.
You're a little jumpy tonight, aren't you?
Four undead abominations stared back at him, jaws agape, eyes glowing. They were once men, judging by their tabards and what remained of their armour; some retained their scratched helmets, another stomped about in a single boot, while another wore a leather jerkin torn in two. Their skin was faded and leathery where it wasn't missing, and the yellow bulbs in their sockets shone sickly light. Their bones clacked together as they moved, a grotesque percussion heralding their movements. His cursed eyes saw the undulating energies of necromancy holding their tattered corpses together, a pale imitation of blood coursing around them.
Illidan brandished his twin blades, the moonlight racing down its slick edge. "I am not some hapless prey, fools. I will return you to where you belong - the grave!"
The skeletons shrieked and lunged at him.
The power once at the night elf's disposal was much less than before. Still, strength and speed remained and his skills had not abandoned him. One undead reared a sword into the air and flung it down, but with the ponderousness and jerky movement of a marionette. Illidan rolled to the side and took the opening to slash the creature's arm clean off. It jerked its head at him, unresponsive to the pain, eyes burning with passionless wrath. Illidan grimaced and cleaved the monster's skull from its neck.
Another two skeletons swung simultaneously. Illidan rose a warglaive and caught the blades against his own, a gush of sparks erupting at the impact. They pressed down with greater strength than should have been possible for emaciated corpses. Illidan's bicep bulged against the strain, arm shaking against the pressure, when he noticed the last remaining enemy dragging his feet towards him.
Illidan fell to one knee, unable to remove the weight of the swords. The last skeleton approached, hobbling over with blade raised. There was no time to lose. Illidan ducked to the right, guiding the extended sword arms down into the ground. The undead were powerful but not fast, and that's where Illidan had the advantage. The sword of the last skeleton came down, embedding deep into both spines of the fallen monsters. Illidan sliced the head off all three skeletons while they struggled to free themselves, and their bodies clattered into silence.
Necromancers tainted these lands. How Illidan hated them. It was one thing to command demons, creatures malformed and strengthened by the energies of the Twisting Nether, but to raise slain or dead bodies to battle boiled his blood. Not to mention that most undead lacked basic combat skills and were little more than fodder. He looked at their corpses, yellowed vapour wafting from their bones, necromantic spells unwoven. He scooped up one of the skulls, the last vestiges of skin and hair slipping free of bone. The sockets still lit with fast dwindling yellow. The connection to the necromancer responsible for these abominations was still active. Illidan knew that as he stared into the dimming flames, the necromancer saw him too.
The night elf snarled. "I will find you, necromancer, and I will end you." He tightened his hold of the skull until it cracked and broke into shards of bone. The last of the yellow light jetted into the air.
Illidan let the bone fragments fall to the ground and continued on his way. He had no idea where the necromancer was, but if he found a settlement somewhere nearby he would likely find the answers he sought.
What's the difference between you and the necromancer? Nothing. You're both evil and twisted. You both use dark magic for your own ends. You're not so special.
Soon enough, Illidan's path took him to an outpost. A wall was erected around it, with patrolmen walking its length, keeping a keen eye on the horizon. They were human. Illidan hoped there was a warmer welcome here than with other humans he had dealt with in the past.
Steeling himself, Illidan walked up to the gates.
