Fooled you.
Registrations start today and will run all the way through to the 21st.
Sign up early and have more time to enjoy the pre-show facility! Your story begins whenever you step up to the registration booth.
While it is preferred that you register and only write in the Dante Verse forum, I will make exceptions for Level 1 characters (who may still have fleshing out to do if they joined recently). They may register, post in the Omniverse, and then head to Dante Verse. Once they post in the pre-show area, there's no going back.
If you'd like an exception and have a good enough excuse, please PM me, not Proto Man.
Weapon Reveals will continue throughout the preshow (up to 28, unless we break that number, in which case more will be added prior to Day 1.
NPC Contract signings will resume once a few non-NPCs have joined. NPC ideas may be submitted to me as well -- I won't make any promises that they'll appear in the contest.

All across the Omniverse, gates leading into the Dante Verse have appeared. From the gates, employees from Syntex have exited to set up little ‘registration camps’ and process prospective entrants for Dante’s Abyss. Although they are in every verse, the camps all look essentially the same. A large tent surrounds the gate and houses a wide space with a plain-looking employee, some cameras, and the gate to Dante Verse. The employee is there to take everyone’s information and record a segment about them for the audience watching the event.
Outside the main tent, there are other little booths where people can socialize with anyone else waiting their turn inside the registration area. In the more populated verses, there will be long lines, but in places like the Ashen Steppes or the Frozen Fields, you may be one of a few people these workers will meet during the entire registration period. You are not obligated to socialize or schmooze, but the option is there for you to do so.
Once the attendant takes your information and films you, you are considered a ‘prospective’ entrant into Dante’s Abyss. You will step through the gate (a large, jagged crack in reality) and find yourself in the lobby of the Preshow Facility. You may then start to post in whichever of those threads you want to.
When you post your roleplay, you (the writer) must fill out the following form and place it in [*quote] tags.
Quote:Appearance – Your character’s appearance (a picture will suffice for canonical characters).
Personality – Your character’s personality in a few sentences.
Possible Reactions – How would your character respond to certain situations? How might they respond to other types of people?
-Example - Proto Man has entered the competition to seek glory and money to give back to his community. He would go out of his way not to hurt anyone, except in self-defense, and he would try his hardest not to betray people. On the other hand, Shang Tsung is out for his own glory and interests. He wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone he could, and he wouldn't think twice about using anything to his advantage.
Relationships – State any important friendships/rivalries you have with other contestants. Example - Guu and Gilgamesh fought each other in the past, so those two crossing paths would be something the audience would be keen on watching for.
‘Combat’ Style – Now by this I don’t mean a fighting style. I’m looking more at how your character will react if thrown into violent situations. Do they go fists flying? Will they retreat to find a better advantage? Will they be cowardly? Will they defend their allies above all?
Eligible Powers – List these, I will reference this over your Roster.
Moves – List your eligible moves (if you have any) AND put in a roster link to where I can find their descriptions. Also, BOLD moves that your character frequently uses (their ‘bread n’ butter’). Please label Super Moves accordingly and include transformations.
Extra – Anything you think I must know to properly write your character.
Quotes – List a quote or two your character has said or may say.

At the top of the elevator at the far end of the Lobby is 'the Barracks.' This is part where everyone accepted into the competition is taken. You may only post in this thread once you've been accepted and escorted by a Syntex employee to the elevator.
The barracks contains a common area for accepted participants to hang out and 'talk shop.' As with elsewhere in the pre-show facility, violence is not allowed whatsoever.
Each contestant has a small room to sleep/rest in (all the rooms have numbers at correspond to a contestant). These rooms contain their duffel bag with all of their supplies, except their Weapon/Support Item, which will not be revealed to them until they are transported to the island.

Across from the Recreation Dome, the Park is a massive outdoor area contained within a dome. Modeled after South City's Central Park (which is modeled after New York City's Central Park), the folks at Syntex even splurged to add some mountains to the far extremity of the dome so people can hike or ski. There's also a quaint lodge near the mountain to buy hot cocoa or rent equipment, and there's a few other lodges near the entrance to rent athletic gear and get snacks.

North of the Library is the Recreation Dome. The first two floors of the Recreation Dome contains a plethora of restaurants and bars that cover your most basic foods up to the ritziest cuisine (all for free, of course). The next two levels contain all kinds of ways to amuse yourself, whether you want to revisit your childhood or just hang out and shoot billiards.
The top floor contains about a dozen state-of-the-art movie theaters screening blockbusters old, new, foreign, and even straight-up alien (depending on who the heck you are).

The Dojo Dome is straight across the hall from the Library Dome. The dome's five levels contain a multitude of various things related to physical fitness. The first floor is a large public gym, with enough equipment so anyone from a tiny pixie to a giant could get in a decent workout. The second and third floors contain various physical fitness courses designed to test one's skills in a more realistic environment. They even have courses that mimic environments similar to the island.
The fourth and fifth floors contain various private dojos and workout spaces that allow people the chance to get some last minute experience with not only various combat styles but also with basic and advanced survival skills. Don't know how to fire a gun or light a fire? This is the place for you.

The Library is an enormous, multi-layer dome that houses a ridiculous amount of history within its glass walls. The bottom few floors are mostly books, magazines, and periodicals, but if one takes the stairs up to the top three floors, they'll find various places to watch recordings, movies, and simulations stored on the Library's mainframes.
The history, both digital and print, contained within the Library revolves mostly around confrontations and violence. There is a segment dedicated to the history of Dante's Abyss, but it also contains information about battles and wars from various realities parallel universes, and different times. On should peruse at their own warning in case they don't want to find themselves in one of the books or recordings.

Although there are gates to the Dante Verse throughout the Omniverse, this is the place where each and every prospective participant will arrive. Once they step through the fissure-like gate into the Dante Verse, they'll be on a wide platform at the southern end of an enormous hallway.
The Lobby hall is connected to four large domes, which are detailed in their respective threads. At the northern end of the Lobby, a grand elevator stands, guarded by some soldiers. Anyone who asks will be informed that the elevator is only for accepted combatants in the competition and politely asked to go pursue the public areas of the facility until they receive a summons.
The Lobby itself doesn't house many landmarks, although the large arches and giant windows make it look very pleasant. Near the center of the hallway is a large screen that lists everyone who has registered for a chance to compete in the tournament.
The Lobby is also where the media is present, in various spots. The reporters are always eager to talk to any potential combatants. ONN has the largest presence, with Lead Anchorman Ron Burgundy present. You might also find VIP fans wandering the grounds.

(Jon Snow here. I just reached 8k, so I'm dropping my alt here.)
Character name: Knox
Character source: Original.
Character history:
Regarding the world of Athera
Athera's your basic run-of-the mill fantasy world. Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Humans, Halflings and Kharajyr (Khajit) inhabit the continent, as well as other scarcer and less-common species and races. To understand Knox and what he is, however, you'll first need to know a bit more about his creator; the Dark God, Korvad.
Korvad is an entity that goes by many names; the betrayer, malevolent one, unhinged spirit. What many can agree on, though, is that Korvad is a force of evil and wroth, a violent god that should never be named nor spoke of directly. His evil is one that had tinted the lands of Athera millenniums and eons ago, and all-out war was waged to defeat him and restore peace and harmony to the lands. Every man of every race and heritage banded together to stop Korvad from taking over with his army of the undead and the fallen. The war was a long and terrible one, but in the end, Korvad was sealed away in a pocket realm, his darkness never to taint the pure and cleansed lands of Athera again..
But he came back.
Cultists and Necromancers found a way to free the Dark Lord after years of religious worship, research and progress. His current form, however, is much weaker and fragile than his last, years of isolation and imprisonment having left him nullified and frail. But with each passing minute, his dark energy returns to him. His power grows, and in due time, the invasion shall begin again. The Dark Lord shall take his due, and all of Athera shall be at his heel.
About Knox
Knox is a golem construct. A creation of Korvad. He was once a mortal being; a Wood Elf, to be more specific. But that has little significance to him now. Now he is only Knox, a golem construct.
The process of becoming a Golem is one of excruciating pain and unimaginable suffering. It begins with your decapitation; something that would kill you normally, but in this state your life-force and conscious has been preserved. In hindsight, you can still feel and see what is around you and happening to you, but you've lost movement and control of your body, as well as the ability to speak. In essence, you become a shell; a vegetable.
What comes next is known as the burning process. The constructs body is burned and scolded right down to the flesh. This stage of conversion usually happens over the length of a fortnight. During this time, the Golem's body begins to lose touch with itself. It's memories, goals, dreams, ambitions, willpower. All fades away into nothingness and obscurity.
When the burning process is complete, the body is brought in for the final stage of conversion; the resurrection. An empty pumpkin is put in place of the constructs lost head, and a murmuring of a dark prayer will bring the golem back to life; and under your control.
Knox himself is a rarity, a mysterious enigma to many. He was infused with a fragment of Korvard's own godly power, intended to be his "ultimate creation". Knox is different, however, in the sense that through some supernatural, unearthly means and outside interference, he retained his will and sense of self-identity. Or it returned to him, rather.
As soon as this snapped in him, Knox broke out from where he was being kept, escaping and leaving no survivors in his wake. He treaded his own path, sticking to the shadows to keep at bay from necromancers and cultists who would pursue his trail.
Knox would soon learn that such a freedom came with a price, however; his energy, power and life-force itself was being fuelled by Korvad, and without his master to supplement his functioning, Knox would eventually melt and wither away on his own. To fend for himself and survive, he needed to consume and feed on the souls of others. He's done so sparingly so far, still needing to keep a low-profile to avoid recapture and subsequent punishment for his disobedience.
As of recent, Knox had set his eyes on the Halfling village of Gimblewood. Settiling into a small mountain cave not far from the town, he made plans to reign terror upon it's inhabitants in his own style, and devour the souls he needed to temporarily sustain his life-span...
But... that never came to pass, however. When he fell into a strange state of sleep whilst sitting upon his makeshift stone throne, and was greeted by the pale figure known as Omni, surrounded by a white void of nothingness...
Physical Description:
![[Image: aba37e0a384773ce432a6cabb1875280.png]](http://gyazo.com/aba37e0a384773ce432a6cabb1875280.png)
He's exactly this, except he'd be wearing gloves. If you ever saw his bare skin, well... there would be no skin, just flesh and all the red stuff. All his skins been burned off completely. He also stands at an imposing height of six-foot something. It's also noteworthy that he can't actually speak aside from grunts and snarls, he just communicates via telepathy 'n' stuff.
Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 3
SPD: 3
TEC: 2
Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength proficiency - 1000 OM
Ranged proficiency - 1000 OM
Starting Powers:
Telepathy - 1500 OM
Elasticity - 400 OM
Master Acrobat - 400 OM
Starting Moves:
Wrist Blades (300 OM)
Murderous tool's of Knox's own tinkering. With a flick of his wrists, these daggers will pop out from his bracers with a nasty chink. They have the size and width of two very long daggers (not that far off shortsword-length), thick and pointy. These weapons are quite efficient for stabbing, cutting and slashing.
Ball of Flame (300 OM)
Knox takes a moment to charge up (usually takes about a second), a palm-sized hall of fire appearing in his hand. Once ready, Knox can hurl the fireball at his opponent from any angle, whether it's an overhead toss or an underarm slug.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yup.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
Omni hands you a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.
“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.
“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
As the voice of Omni echoed off into the distant reaches of her memory Beatrix felt her body slam into the shallow water of some unknown fountain. There was no pain; not even a splash. Whatever just happened left the sword master face down on her stomach. Slowly as if her brain were a computer completing a power on self-test each of her senses came back and the mistress regained control of her body. Finally, with a sudden jerk of her entire body, the fallen Jedi’s heart started back up. With a sharp inhale and a quick flex of her biceps Trixie pushed herself into a seated position.
Almost immediately the red haired vixen heaved and emptied the contents of her lungs all over her naked legs. The fluid, coalescing with every color of the rainbow, moved to form an orb in front of her face. Out dropped a sealed plastic envelope. The mistress’ eyes moved to the parcel that had dropped from the mysterious orb and before she could take her eyes of it the orb of fluid shot into her bosom and disappeared. Getting to her feet Trixie sputtered and coughed as her lungs adjusted to breathing on their own for the first time.
“The fuck…” She muttered under her breath.
Beatrix wasn’t a fool. In fact she was highly educated so what had just happened to her body could be rationally explained in some way. She tucked the envelope under her arm and stepped out of the fountain. An orb of omnilium emerged from her torso again and displayed that she was headed to Coruscant. Without bothering to notice it was Empire controlled she swatted the orb away and grabbed the envelope and ripped it open. Inserting two fingers she pulled out the first document.
”A wanted poster…for…me? Eighty million credits for my death? This doesn’t make any sense. For war crimes against The Republic?”
Letting it go for now she pulled out the second piece of paper. It was a wallet sized photo taken from a mobile camera. A woman who looked like herself was sitting next to a man clad in heavy steel armor? They were laughing. Flipping over the photograph the name “Vad” was written on the back and circled by a heart.
“Who the fuck…?”
