  Mini event- Riot in Coruscant
Posted by: Jak Mar - 06-27-2015, 05:05 AM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (9)

Ok so here's my plan: Coruscant is a city with constant problems of racism around the city. Since Jak and Daxter's differences bring out the worst people to chastise them etc...

This causes a means for starting a big riot among the non-human population against the normal humans and a riot starts, thanks to Jak and Daxter. With Torn's previous experience as a rebel leader, he's able to map out plans accordingly etc..

Anybody interested in this mini-event of sorts?

As people join, i'll add them here.

  Demetri Malius
Posted by: Demetri Malius - 06-27-2015, 02:19 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (2)

Character name: Demetri Malius

Character source: Original

Character history:
Information. That's my trade. Ever since I was a young child from a small city I have been listening in on conversations, checking guard post times, getting into mischief while knowing all the right information so that I wouldn't get caught. It was a valuable skill, still is in fact. Then there were the times when information changed or some unknown variable screwed everything up. Depending on who I was messing with I learned how to defend myself, disarm foes and disable the to make a quick getaway, then use the landscape to my advantage and leave my pursuers in the dust as I retreated to strike again. I made quite the living, especially when I discovered that others wished to have the same information I had obtained, and were willing to pay for it. The most common were for bounties, hunters that wanted to make sure they weren't in over their heads. I would stalk my target, keeping an eye on them from the shadows and learning their strengths, their moves, their weaknesses. That was the one thing all of them had. A weakness. No matter how strong they think they are or how many people they have killed, there was one thing that would bring them to their knees. Everyone has a weakness, even I do. And knowing that weakness can turn a fight in a matter of seconds. As I am now brought to this new world, I wonder how I will fit in and what role I will play in learning its secrets...

Physical Description:
Demetri is a average height male in his early twenties with a thin build. He has black hair that reaches over his ears and down to his eyebrows and has piercing grey eyes. He is light skinned and wears skin tight black clothing for easy maneuverability and agility. For concealing his weapons and for stealth, he wears a loose black cloak with a hood over his clothing.

Stats:
ATK: 1
DEF: 0
SPD: 4
TEC: 5

Starting Proficiency:
Ranged Proficiency(1000 OM)

Starting Powers:
Enhanced Senses, Basic(1400OM)
Insight(1600 OM)

Starting Moves:
Kunai(600, ranged proficiency, Enhanced Senses)
Demetri equips a set of up to ten kunai which can be thrown at almost any range, up to 50 meters. It takes a second to summon each kunai while immobile, but can take up to six if Demetri is moving, depending on his speed. Each one's effectiveness is determined by the distance it was thrown, at very close range it can impale the target, but at further ranges, can only scrape an opponent. Demetri must be conservative with his kunai, however, as they must be retrieved. (For example, if he used all ten in a fight, he cannot summon more and must either pick up the ones that missed his target or pull out the from his target.) They must be retrieved after each fight in order to be summoned later as well. Demetri can sense the locations of his kunai and can track them in opponents using his Advanced Senses, although they must be within range.

Chain Kunai(300, ranged proficiency)
Demetri can summon two chain kunai, one in each hand, which are used for closer ranged combat. They have a reach of five meters and take 5 seconds each to summon but become less effective when his target is closer than a meter of Demetri. Demetri can also used his chain kunai to deflect light physical projectiles(less than a pound in weight). The chain kunai can be broken with heavy weapons, rendering them unusable by Demetri.

Referred by Dean Winchester

Character name: Johnny Rico

Character source: Starship Troopers

Character history:
Johnny was a student in a high school in Buenos Aires, where he lived, along with his friend Carl Jenkins, and girlfriend Carmen Ibanez. Johnny did not really know what he planned to do after school. Carl and Carmen, unlike Johnny had their eyes set on . Federal Service

Johnny decided to join Federal service to chase his girlfriend Carmen Ibanez, however unlike Carmen, Johnny did poorly in his math tests and joined the Mobile Infantry while Carmen joined the Fleet. Johnny Rico soon found the boot camp more difficult than he anticipated, with terrible injuries being inflicted by the officers and NCOs — particularly his drill Sergeant, Zim — in an effort to train the recruits quickly and efficiently. Johnny excelled at the training and eventually was promoted to Squad Leader.

After Johnny made an error as Squad Leader during a training exercise, which results in the death of a squad mate, he was punished by public flogging and stated his intention to quit. However, just as he was leaving the camp, a Bug Meteor destroyed Buenos Aires, killing his parents and millions of people. He rejoined his unit and the newly-declared war against the perpetrators of the attack being the Arachnidsfrom deep in the Arachnid Quarantine Zone.

The Federation launched a full scale invasion of what they believed to be the Arachnid home world Klendathu; However, this invasion turned out to be a complete disaster with over 300,000 casualties; including several of Johnny's fellow boot-mates. He was one of the few wounded to survive.

Johnny was then reassigned to another Mobile Infantry unit, the "Roughnecks". Its soldiers were extremely loyal, most of whose lives had been saved by their commander, who turns out to be Johnny's old high school history teacher, now Lieutenant Jean Rasczak.

During the mission to Whiskey outpost, and not too long after being field promoted to Sargent, Johnny was taken to the omniverse just before the retrieval boat arrived to rescue them from a bug ambush.

  How to make a mini-event?
Posted by: Jak Mar - 06-26-2015, 07:11 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (1)

Ok here's my idea: I wanted to start a mini riot featuring Jak and Daxter and his friends in Couresant. Due to their differences, Jak and Daxter has decided to change the grand plans of things in the city and decides to create some mayhem in the name of good. I'm probably going to put my npcs in the action but if somebody else was to join, how would they join up?

Home of New Beginnings and New Challenges

The Emerald Warrior reached the main to Jade Reckoning. It was a rather large, healthy looking green tree, as tall as any around it, with crimson red leaves. It had a knot on it that jutted out slightly. It was big enough for a palm to be placed on and the namekian did just that. Almost instantly the tree opened up revealing a passageway that lead beneath ground. The namek took a long heavy breath as looked down into the darkness. It had taken him so long to reach the place, with the constant distractions, but now it was time for him to take his first steps into his home.

He took his first step, followed by a second and third, slowly descending the stairway as he went. As he passed through the opening, the door had slid closed behind him and fluorescent jade and white lights turned on. at his sides, lighting the path all the way down. The Horsemen continued all the way down till it opened up into the main foyer. Nearby, Jack slept comfortably on what seemed to be a couch. He seemed exhausted and was actually snoring.

Up to that point, the namekian had ignored his wounds knowing he was badly injured. He too needed rest and heal his body up. Arith and Inirtias had appeared in the midst of his fight, unsummoned by him. It was something he wanted to do alone. It was why he had sent Jack Frost ahead. The Emerald Warrior had heard word that the Empire mightbe coming for his allies and thought that the foe he had fought was sent from the Empire in search of his two human comrades that had joined the namek when he had first visited Corsucant.

The rogue namek wasn't sure who his rival was, other then his name and what he had seen, but he did know he was demonic. The warrior couldn't put his finger on it, and it would take some time to figure it all out.

For now though thinking to much was getting him dizzy. Alaina, Airyonna, and two other ninja had found him soon after and Alaina had healed him as much as she could. The konouchi wanted to take him back to their village for proper treatment. Retane turned it down and started on his way, dismissing both Lythians back to the shadow mist, not wanting to be pestered by anyone else for a while. He was getting tired of detours and had wanted to see his new home for far to long.

And here he was.

After a few heavy breaths and steadying himself from a dizzy spell, he looked forward. Across the way were two big double doors. That would be Retane's next destination. He walked on, his footsteps much heavier then they usually were. The namek even realized this an but there was nothing he could do. His body was beyond fatigue, but he still kept going. He had business to take of and would not rest until everything was done. The Leader of the Horsemen was set on what he had to do.

"Wake up Jack", The warrior called to the Guardian in his usual dark voice as he passed by.

The sawing of logs stopped as the ice wielder nearly jumped off the couch with Savior in hand. "What? Huh? How long was I sleeping? You're back? How did it go?"

The namekian warrior paused for a moment to look back at his close comrade. The Guardian of the Horsemen wiped away the sleep from his eyes and looked to Retane, almost intrigued with thecoming details. The Emerald Warrior looked away, concentrating on the large sliding doors, "I didn't win..." The namekian paused and took a breath, " And Arith and Inirtias intervened."

"You should have let me stay and help. You don't have to be a lone wolf like you think you do," Frost spoke as he stepped towards the green warrior.

Retane started walking towards his destination but answered Jack Frost's declaration, "You'll learn soon enough, that sometimes a person must test their mettle and strength. Sometimes you have to do that by yourself. It seems I have not gotten as strong as I thought I have."

The Reaper and the Guardian stepped through the doors as they slid open and closed as they both passed through. The Emerald Warrior looked at the screen ahead of him. It was black with the image of a namekian in a more feminine form then his knowledge could remember. Sverit and Gulish snapped their attention towards the doors opening and closing turning in their hovering swivel chairs. "Retane", both exclaimed as they hopped to their feet.

The Emerald Warrior nodded for a moment and looked to the main monitor, "What is this?"

As he spoke he finally summoned Arith and Inirtias, who began as a the shadow mist but quickly came to form. Everyone looked at the screen and the female namek looked back at them. "That is Jade." It was Sverit spoke. "She is yours. It took me a while, but I found some of the coding, and after translating the name, I gave her a face and a voice. She can do with some upgrades, but the contract is signed by you so you are the only prime that can upgrade her. I hope you don't mind."

The namekian looked at Sverit for a moment and was going to speak before Gulish spoke up, "Jade is lined up from you by genetics some how something to do with the laws of omnilium. You have master controls of everything. The only way we got in , as we understand it, is because you are the one that let us in. This intelligence can even communicate to you telepathically, if you desired. You are it's first priority."

"Jade, is all this true?" The namekian wasn't sure that a computer could speak to him through mental thoughts, but as skeptical as he was, he decided to give it a try.

It is true. I was birthed from your agreement and contracted to assist you. I serve you and will serve you as best I can. I will allow anyone you give permission inside me. I have defensive measures as well, to help keep intruders out."

The Emerald Warrior wasn't sure if it was all possible still, but here it was, unfolding in front of him. He looked from Jade to the others around him trying to take it all in. He still had an agenda to do and his body was still on the verge of collapsing. Without another thought, he summoned Arith and Inirtias. The two quickly stepped from the mist, first glancing at the renegade namek, then looking around, taking their first look of Jade Reckoning. It wa Arith that paused on the feminine profile of a namekian and leaned towards Retane and whispered, "Man, you should have told me your mother was hot as hell for a gremlin."

The namekian glanced at the Dragon Warrior and paused thinking to say something as a retort, but changed his mind, not diverting himself from what was on his mind, "Welcome to, Jade Reckoning, the home of the Horsemen."

Retane took the time to look at each person standing there, even the computerized Jade for a moment, "Welcome to the Horsemen. Just in case anyone is confused as to who we are or how we work. It is our job to grow. It is our job to defend what we believe in and back our brethren up if need be. Respect one another, and grow stronger. We'll be entering the mercenary business, shaping the world into our own image, grabbing a dominate stronghold on the omniverse and letting them know that we have come and we are here. " Retane paused to let it sink in

"We may have personal goals, but combined we shall be a formidable force. Good, bad, they will not exist here. We are THe Horsemen. With out Good, there can be no Evil. Without Evil there can be no Good. Call us the balance in the midst of the Chaos, if you will. You all will play an intricate part in making this happen. Our immortals may wind up being the front runners of displaying our dominance, but it will be the mortals that will assist and help us make our goals true. Trust in me and I will see you safe."

The namekian looked to Sverit and Gulish, "From now on you are no longer who you were, from this moment forward, you are Sasha and Grix. I'll expect you two to be heading up with everything around here."

The two nodded their agreement and the namekian offered a grin as he looked at everyone, nearly ready to succumb to fatigue, "It's good to be home."

Retane fell forward into darkness.

  Face first into the trees
Posted by: Roger Smith - 06-26-2015, 01:51 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (7)

The disgruntled young Heir of Time plowed through the gate from the Nexus, immediately losing his orientation as he went. If it was this bad without having to worry about standing, he had a pretty good idea he would be hating life if he had to make a trip through on his feet.

......well, hating life more.

As things stood, he made his way through the gate and promptly lost all sense of direction. The momentum which had been carrying him straight forward kept him going, but his attempt to remain going forward sent him straight down, where he earned a face full of dirt and all manner of fallen plant matter.

He just layed there, face down in the dirt, while one hand patted the ground aimlessly about him, as if trying to find something by touch alone. He was unsuccessful, and when he finally realized he wasn't going to find whatever he was groping around for, he merely slowly clenched his hand into a fist, gathering up a handful of loose leaves, dirt and probably something else he would have rather not noticed, he pounced the earth with his closed fist.

It was somewhere between a pathetic outlet of rage and a pitiful admission of defeat.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Adam lifted his head to rest his chin, rather than his face, on the ground. "I have gone beyond simply hating everything this place has to offer, and come completely around to emerge on the other side. This place is shitty. But it's still not as shitty as the shithole I came from before I was here. I don't hate it here. I don't even mildly dislike it here. Naaaaaah, this place is alright."

It was almost entirely a lie, but past experience had taught Adam that the best way to calm himself down when he was on the verge of flipping the fuck out was to let his building rage out through prodigious application of bullshit. And claiming this place was better than where he'd come from...it wasn't a complete lie, but it was still pretty high on the BS-o-meter.

"Okay.....okay....I'm good...." With a heave, Adam got his hands under himself and pushed himself up to his hands and knees. "I'm fine....I'm cool...." He got his crutch, and hauled himself up to his feet, rising slowly but surely back to his feet to stand up. He brushed himself off as best he could with his free hand, before finally fishing about for his lost glasses. It took him a moment, but he finally found them, covered in dirt and leaves, but otherwise whole and still in the same relative condition as they always had been.

A quick spin about one hand, and in short order Adam had rewound his glasses to their undirtied condition from before they had been flung through the portal to this extremely humid tree-filled place that was not the Nexus. He put them back in their proper place on his face, fidgeted with them for almost a full thirty seconds, before he shook his head in irritation. The damn things never did fit quite right.

He turned around to set off anywhere that wasn't the gate, and promptly plowed face-first into a rather large tree.

The Greatest Crime in Omniverse History
Posted by: Proto Man - 06-26-2015, 10:42 AM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (2)

Many of you may not know this... It's okay, as you are from 'the before time.' A time before Karl Jak, before Guu and Gilgasnow, before Retane, back when Inlumia was a person but before Sarah Kerrigan was person.

Back in this turbulant period, a few months after the death of the Rathalos, a hero came to the Omniverse. Some might say he was a savior. A gritty, unforgiving man dedicated to the pursuit of justice.

His name was James Doakes. He had no fears. He had no silly morality. He was the hero the Omniverse needs, and the hero the Omniverse needs.

Even so, his story goes untold... why? Where has the Legend gone?

Screw finding Omni... we all need to pool our resources and #FindDoakes.

Never forget.

So, Nealaphh intends on conducting several experiments in order to gain an insight into the machinations of the Omniverse. For this, I will need to know some stuff that isn't specifically explained.

1. Does any given substance cost the same amount of Omnilium wherever it is summoned? Is water more valuable in the Endless Dunes than in the Vasty Deep?

2. Are there certain items in the Omniverse that are more valuable than they might normally seem?
