Hey all !

After meeting allot of your wonderful folks i was thinking at work today ( yes i tend to do that every now and then ), that i have a Teamspeak server that i am not using. I would like to offer it to the people of the Omniverse to use if they want. Whether it be for gaming or just having a chat.

Obviously i won't set anything up without permission of the mods and the Omster himself but I just wanted to put it out there and see what you think ?

Greetings,

Yu :ninja:

  A Lighthouse
Posted by: Mickey Mouse - 07-14-2015, 06:35 PM - Forum: The Creative Corner - No Replies

(*by me*)

A lighthouse
To a ship lost at sea

Shelter from a storm

The terrifying and wondrous realization that
We are not alone in the universe.

It happens in the blink of an eye.
First sight, one moment
You see a glimpse of it and it hides
Until you’re ready
Ready
“Ready”

It is fluid, it is whole
A smile in the morning
A touch
Of the hand
Terrifying and wonderful
All at once

You accept it, in time
It becomes a part of you
You cannot help but find it
Because it finds you

A lighthouse
To a ship lost at sea

A beacon of hope
Hope
“Hope”

A lighthouse
To a ship found at sea

  Character Change: Colonel
Posted by: Albert Wesker - 07-14-2015, 10:45 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (1)

Character name: Colonel.EXE

Character source: Megaman Battle Network

Character history: Created by Dr. Wily to be the perfect NetNavi, and he was given to Baryl. After Baryl's father died in war, Dr. Wily removed Colonel's kindness programming and weapons control ability, turning him into a powerful military soldier navi. The programs removed from Colonel were used to create Iris, and a program was devised to cause them to explode if they ever tried to reunite as one.

Along with his operator, Baryl, Colonel put Lan and Megaman.EXE to a test to see if they were strong enough to join Colone's Anti-Nebula Corps, and went on to fight against Nebula, recruiting several other Navis onto the team and eventually defeating Nebula.

He was later seen working for the WWW and Dr. Wily to capture the Cybeasts. After numerous run-ins and encounters with Megaman, he finally engaged in battle and was defeated, and thanks to the words of Lan and Megaman, he and Baryl were able to eventually help them defeat the Cybeasts. Together with Iris, Colonel defeated one of the legendary beasts after a fierce battle while Megaman dealt with the other, but the stress of the battle caused Megaman to be taken over by the Cybeast again.

Telling Lan and Megaman to tell Baryl he had been deleted along with the Cybeast of his own will, Colonel and Iris merged once again, and ripped the Cybeast's spirit from Megaman and self-destructed, destroying the Cybeast at the cost of his and his sister's lives.

It was after this point that Colonel arrived in the Omniverse.

ATK: 3
DEF: 3
SPD: 1
TEC: 3

Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength (1000 OM), Ranged Proficiency (1000 OM)

Starting Powers: Basic Super Jumping (300 OM), Survival (2000 OM)

Starting Moves:
Colonel Saber -- 300 OM (Requires: Physical Strength)
Taking the place of Colonel's right arm from just above the wrise down is an energy emitter that houses his primary weapon, a brightly-glowing blade of green energy. Approximately three feet in length, just over two inches in diameter, and tapering to a needle-like point at its end. It is a useful weapon, equally suited for offense as well as defense, but bears no special qualities and is quite 'solid' despite its energy-based nature.

Colonel Buster -- 300 OM (Requires: Ranged Proficiency)
Colonel temporarily deactivates his saber and funnels the momentary lapse of activity into a charge, firing a 'shot' of energy from the blade emitter. Not terribly powerful, but still servicable as a weapon. Can be fired at a rate of about one shot per second, and retains its full power, such as it is, at distances of up to 15 meters before beginning to dissipate, and by approximately 18 meters if virtually harmless.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

  Flame
Posted by: Samus Aran - 07-14-2015, 12:21 AM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (2)

The world seemed to tip on its side and suddenly, Samus was back at the Fountain of Infinity. She fell to her knees at the sudden jolt. The surprise, the shock and the pain compounded her failure. And that anger made itself known through the azure aura that grew more violent around her frame. She felt the phazon rip out through her skin and the suit, wracking the flawless ground with spiderwebs. In that moment she could have reached out and crushed Karl Jak’s throat. Not for justice. But just to see his hateful eyes pop and get a small measure of the pain he’d inflicted on her.

But she calmed herself. Felt the aura fade down and then die out with the flame of her anger. She was done now.

Silence. It had been a long time. The fountain still stood, not-quite never changing. It was black now, the blue waters reminding her of a foe would long since defeated. She knew the obvious connection. Somewhere in her mind, she was thinking about Dark Samus, and the fountain reflected that. Perhaps Omni was up there now watching her and wondering how best he could tug at her memories. It wasn’t going to work. She was not some immature twenty-year-old any more. The hunter had seen far worse than whatever the god could throw at her. She raised her palms to the sky in open invitation.

If you can read my mind, you know I’m not bothered.

She smiled despite herself and scanned the horizon for the gates. What now?

They had been reunited for all of an hour when she started to nag.

“Give me your Dataverse Device,” she held out a hand, the toe of her high heel clicking impatiently against the white floor of the Nexus. The male mouse obliged, fishing the tiny little thing out of his pocket. He had to admit that his experience with the thing was rather limited—he’d been window shopping one of his days in Coruscant, and one of the shopkeepers had convinced him that he needed the thing. To “keep up with modern times,” or whatever. Either way, Minnie snatched it from his gloved hand and began typing away like she’d been doing it for years. Mickey supposed the Camelot ladies she’d been hanging around probably kept themselves glued to the things.

The King plopped down on the featureless ground, glancing back over his shoulder at the huge, metallic gates to Coruscant that now lay pretty far off. He rubbed the back of his neck, nursing the bruise one of the stormtroopers guarding the gate gave him when they had first passed through. The idea that the Empire would have a few guards posted there totally slipped the minds of the mice, and so the troopers surprised them; luckily, the pair made a pretty good team, and easily overwhelmed the ambush, escaping further into the Nexus.

Undoubtedly, the Empire would send more people after them. Heck, Mickey knew that they might be on the run for the rest of their time in the Omniverse—however long that ended up being. At this point, he could only hope that they could escape this place soon. He liked his new friends here well enough, but now that he had Minnie, nothing could stop him from wanting to go back home and reunite with the rest of his subjects. Between Pluto, and Goofy, and Daisy, and Donald, of course, and… well, he never thought he would ever say this, but he even missed good ol’ Pete.

“What are you doing?” Mickey asked the lady mouse, who paced throughout the empty space of the Nexus, typing away at the Dataverse Device.

“Sending out a distress call,” she responded curtly, not looking up from the thing. Why the heck is it taking so long? the male mouse thought, and Minnie’s head snapped to look at her husband, a scowl growing. “I heard that,” she narrowed her eyes, “and I’m encrypting it, duh.”

Mickey did not know what the world “encrypting” meant, but he decided it would be best to just shut the heck up and let Minnie do her work. He had always been less of a strategist and more of a doer—she would make the plans, and he would execute them. They had always worked that way, and now it seemed like a good plan to just keep up the routine.

It bothered him, though, to see her so worked up when he overflowed with happiness. They had been apart for so long—now, he thought, would be a time for celebration. Of course, she was just looking to get them to safety. That was all her mind focused on, he knew: making sure that they would survive this ordeal that they had gotten themselves into. The King figured that he might have benefited from having her around during Dante’s Abyss—she could have saved them a whole bunch of time wandering around the woods, he knew, and the mouse couldn’t help but feel like Erza, Samus, and Harry would have absolutely loved her.

And they still will, he smiled, whenever they get the chance to meet you.

There we go. That thought pleased him. Despite his overwhelming desire to go home, a part of him wanted to find out where Erza Scarlet had run off to, or what Samus Aran was up to, or who the heck Harry Dresden had started hanging around with, and pull them all back into one place, so they could meet Minnie and just… have a nice time.

Have a nice time. Mickey’s brain perked up with an idea. He got up, and looked over at his wife, turned away from him in frustration at her “encrypting” activity. He pursed his lips, and held out his hands, trying his best to focus all of his omnilium into this next activity. He had never used omnilium to summon anything quite so big, so hopefully he would be able to carry this out effectively. As the energy flowed forth from his hands, he began to feel the task getting easier and easier, and it made the mouse think back to his first attempts to escape—maybe now, stronger than he used to be, he might actually be able to summon a working gummi ship.

Of course, that thought had no place here—this set up, however extravagant, was nowhere near as complex as a ship that could travel between worlds. Omnilium danced up into the shapes of the things he wanted for several minutes before some colors shifted and finally, his goal lay before his eyes. Sitting in the midst of the great white void of the Nexus, a little circular, wooden table had been erected, surrounded by two chairs. On top of the table, a small glass cylinder held a floating, glowing red rose, and a single bowl of spaghetti with two forks completed the set up.

“Alright, I think I’m done,” Minnie nodded, spinning around and reaching out to hand Mickey his Dataverse Device back. Her eyes grew wide when they landed on the little date the mouse had set up, and she couldn’t hold back a smile.

“…Mickey.”

The male mouse gingerly took the contraption from his wife’s gloved hand and shoved it in his pocket before wrapping her in an embrace. “Good to have you back, honey.”

She grinned uncontrollably, and Mickey held out a hand, gesturing for her to sit in one of the wooden chairs. She slid into the seat, picking up her fork and wrapping a few noodles around the end of it. Her eyes flitted up to meet Mickey’s as he sat down across from her. “I know what this is,” she winked at her husband, lifting up the noodle. He smiled, caught. It was a reference that she had become all too used to. Their dates often consisted of a spaghetti dinner under the moonlight—they didn’t have moonlight here, but Mickey hoped this would be close enough.

As they chewed on their spaghetti, her eyes lit up with an idea, and she looked over at the empty void of the Nexus next to them, holding out one of her hands. Omnilium twirled up through the air, eventually taking the shape of an Italian chef, holding an accordion in his hands.

His beautiful tenor voice pierced the air. Mickey and Minnie’s smiles met as they chewed on the same noodle. For once in this cold, unwelcoming Omniverse, Mickey felt at home.

“This is the night,
It’s a beautiful night,
And they called it bella notte…”

  Magneto enters the Omniverse
Posted by: Todd Ingram - 07-13-2015, 03:38 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (7)

Character name: Magneto ( Eric Lehnsherr )

Character source: Ultimate X-men universe

Character history:
Within the ultimate universe Magneto is an arrogant fantasist who throughout his story sinks deeper into his self-proclaimed role as a messiah for mutants. He is the leader of Brotherhood of mutants and a ruthless killer, some might even say terrorist, who isn't afraid to kill in the name of mutant supremacy. Allies of Magneto consist out of members of the brotherhood : Mystique, Blob, Sabretooth, Lorelei and Madrox.

In this ultimate universe Magneto is a very dark and cynical individual who looks at humanity with disgust. He is revolted by them to such an extend he attempted to implement genocidal plans for humanity more than once.

His actions and attacks throughout the world like attacking Xavier's mansion, attempting to blow up the shield base and even using Thor's hammer mjolnir to cause worldwide devastation caused the surviving ultimates to seek out Magneto at his own home. After a vicious battle many people got badly wounded and even killed (Wolverine). But this ended after Jean grey connected his mind with Nick Fury who arrived at the fighscene. He then learns the truth about the origin from mutants.Pleading for his life from Cyclops after learning this shocking truth he still gets his head blown off by his captor and is presumably killed.

Magneto is taken by Omni directly when his head gets disintegrated by Cyclops after learning the truth about the mutants origin.
Physical Description:
Stats:
ATK:3
DEF:4
SPD:2
TEC:1

Starting Proficiencies: Ranged Proficiency – 1000 OM Remote Control Proficiency – 600 OM Area Shield Proficiency – 400 OM

Starting Powers: Flight – 1800 OM

Starting Moves:
Flying metal ( 600 ): Magneto uses omnilium to summon metalic weapon(s) to attack his enemy. The metalic weapon(s) he summons can be controlled by Magneto aslong as he uses his hands to guide them through the air using his Electromagnetic fields. These weapons can consist out of several bullet sized orbs or a single metalic spear. Once the metal has been summoned it cannot change shape until Magneto re-uses his attack to create new weapons, losing the ones he had already summoned.

Electromagnetic shield.( 600 OM ) Magneto uses his power as a projection of force-fields which selectively block out matter and energy. These fields are strong enough to withstand the detonation of multiple thermonuclear weapons, hence Magneto is invulnerable to most harm when surrounded by his shield and can survive in deep space thanks to it. Yet in the Omniverse it works different, even though it still blocks out selective matter and energy it has drawbacks. Projectiles with enough force may still penetrate it, the shield cannot be as large as he wants to. Its limited to either a bubble large enough for two people or a shield shaped as a screen with a width of 5 meters.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

  Official Move Approval IV
Posted by: Omni - 07-13-2015, 02:17 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (1633)

Given that the previous topic is now at +70 pages and a bit cumbersome, we believe it is prudent to start a new topic.

Another helpful thread for moves is the Move Creation Workshop. Consider going there before trying to get your moves approved.

Please use the following guide from the Writing Moves section of the Moves Page when describing your move:

Quote:Don't just say "it's an energy ball". Say "it's a weak energy ball which can be used while moving". Let the reader know what it looks like, so they can write it out accurately. So "it's a weak, purple-hued energy ball which can be fired from the palm of the hand while moving". This is still pretty basic, but hopefully you get the idea. The more detail the better (though we don't necessarily need to know the story of how your character trained under robotic monks for twelve years to learn it; that's for your character history).

Here's an example list of things you should consider when writing a move. If you think one of these things is relevant to the move, and not obvious (we know swords can be used to swing and stab, and we know most guns can be shot while moving) then include the answer as part of your move description. It saves the staff a lot of time unnecessarily asking these same questions, and saves you from having to answer them.

• How powerful is it? Does it have a wide area of effect, or multiple projectiles? How big is the weapon? What size are the projectiles?
• *Is it instantaneous, or quick to use? Or is it slow?* (Almost instantaneous? A moment? Several seconds? Longer? Be specific.)
• Once activated, how fast does it travel? (Fast as a thrown ball or slower? Arrow? Bullet?)
• Is it difficult to aim? Must it be aimed at all?
• Can the user move around or do other things while using the move, or must they be stationary?
• Does the user have to keep their focus on the move, or is it 'fire and forget'?
• Does it have effects that linger after the user is no longer performing the move? If so, how long do they last?
• What does it look like? How is it performed? How does it feel to get hit with it?
• Is the move variable, or does it have a fixed method of use?

Additional Notes:

When describing how long effects linger we prefer to use literal timescales rather than "lasts x posts" or "lasts x rounds" because depending on writing style and word count, a single post might last thirty seconds in IC time, or several minutes.

When describing how powerful a move is, try not to use wording like "cuts through skin" or "breaks bones". This is because the damage of an attack may vary depending on your current transformed state, and your opponent's DEF stat in relation to your ATK. It's best to leave this somewhat vague.

Include which powers/proficiencies you think it needs and what price you think it merits (either 300 for a simple move or 600/900/1200 etc for variable moves).

To figure out what proficiencies you'll need to purchase a move, use this quick checklist:

Quote:Is it melee-based? If so, you'll need the Physical Strength proficiency.
Does it attack at range? If yes, you'll need the Ranged Proficiency.
Is the target area big enough to hit more than one target? Can it miss and still do damage from 'splash' damage? If yes, you'll need the Area Attack Proficiency.
Is it a shield which covers an entire person, or larger still? If so, you'll need the Area Shield Proficiency.
Can it be manually controlled by the user at range, like an appendage made out of an element? If yes, you'll need the Remote Control Proficiency.
Can it be manifested at range, like a wall of sand or a pillar of flame? If yes, you'll need the Ranged Materialize Proficiency.
Can it home in on an opponent without needing to be aimed? If yes, you'll need the Homing Proficiency.
Can it boost an ally's fighting abilities in some way? If yes, you'll need the Buff Proficiency.
Does it inflict lingering negative 'debuffs' on opponents, for example by slowing speed or interfering with their senses? If yes, you'll need the Debuff Proficiency.

The most moves you can get approved in advance is 5. This is so people don't just dump huge piles of moves to get priced and fixed up, creating lots of work for staff. If you want to get more moves approved, purchase some of the ones you already got approved. Staff may approve extra stuff for you, but have the right to refuse until you purchase moves.

DON'T BUMP YOUR MOVES UNLESS IT HAS BEEN 3 OOC DAYS WITHOUT STAFF INPUT. Especially if you're submitting some enormous wall of text or several moves at once.
