Character name: The Grey Man
Character source: Original Creation, Do Not Steal UwU
Character history: Milky Way, 2486AD. The Cyberwars of the Interstellar Planetary Alliance and NEO TECHNO NEW JERUSALEM are coming to their dark conclusion. All information is tightly controlled by the two great galactic empires' datacops, and the enigmatic figure called The Grey Man is rumored to be a genetic experiment conducted by one of these two shadowy governments. Born into chaos, sold into combat as a child, the Grey Man is a legendary fighter by the standards of his time. In the early days of the Cyberwar, he seemed to be allied with the NTNJ, but during the second half seemed more interested in the interests of the IPA. It was only three weeks ago, when he played his trump card, that everything fell into place for both sides.
A fleet of zip-fighters bombarded Io, the moon over Jupiter. The NTNJ-controlled facility there housed their secret weapon--a magnificent array of antimatter cluster-nukes. The zip-fighters were merely a distraction--The Grey Man is a master of subterfuge, and had already infiltrated the moonbase 30 minutes prior. The ensuing chaos made accessing the normally heavily-guarded control computers seem almost easy. The NTNJ sent in its own fleets to deal with the zip-fighters, but by then it was too late--Grey Corps had seized control of Io's nukes, and wasn't afraid to use them in the defense of his newly-acquired base. A single well-placed missile was even more powerful than JERUSALEM's scientists could have ever imagined. The entire 4447th Fleet was reduced to nothing in a quiet instant.
From Io's moonbase, The Grey Man hailed the rulers of both nations. He revealed that he planned to bombard Jupiter--the seat of the NTNJ--and Earth, where the IPA had made their influence well-known unless a ceasefire was indefinitely called, and both empires submitted to his will and sovereignty.
And it almost worked, by gum.
The Grey Man could almost taste his victory, when suddenly he was spirited away. He was talking with his generals in his newly claimed officers' quarters, and a sudden wave of unknown feeling came over him. It was as if his entire body was collapsing in on itself.
He awoke sometime later, in a far off land, in a distant realm. He has no idea what happened, or what this new world holds... His stoic demeanor and survivors' instincts quickly guided him away from the panic of the early days, however, and now he prepares to make his mark upon this world.
Physical Description: He appears to be in his late 20's or so, perhaps early 30's. Caucasian male. Around 5'10". When not in proper attire for his current mission, he likes to dress in a relaxed, casual style. True to his name, he sports naturally grey hair (shoulder length, and usually slicked back in the front) with grey eyes to match.
Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength, Ranged, Debuff (3000)
Starting Powers: None
Starting Moves:
The Operator: Standard .45 semi-automatic pistol equipped with silencer. Fires at a rate of once per second. Mag capacity 17+1. (300)
Combat Knife: This knife has a compass in the bottom, in addition to its typical knifely functions. The fixed, straight blade is about 8.5 inches long. (300)
Tranquilizer Carbine: Scoped. 3x9. Minimum effective range of at least 20yds. Maximum effective range of around 200yds. Subdues opponents through a nonlethal means. Resembles a paratrooper style SKS with black furniture. Deals damage as a regular weapon; however, "killing" somebody with this merely results in the character being knocked unconscious for up to 1 hour instead of dying normally. Mag capacity 5+1 darts. (300)
Super Moves:
Martian Martial Takedown: Grey Man closes in on target--preferably from behind, but this move can be done from any orientation--and delivers a brutal martial arts combo/takedown, followed through by a particularly debilitating physical blow which, if the move succeeds, hobbles the opponent, reducing their SPD by 1 for three minutes. (600)
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

A tide of empty space washed over him as he plunged deeper into the foreboding chaos he could not outrun. Swirls of shadows resurrected around him and his direction only grew more tangled in the forest of darkness.
Fleeting time splashed upon him with an imperceivable rain that fell floating like feathered ash, as it washed over the contours of his face and dribbled down the lines of his cheek. The swish and flicker of his cape behind him pulled at his shoulders as he felt the immense brush of a great wind weigh against him. He blinked so that he could see the challenge that faced him, yet his eyes could only see black and his body could only feel the disembodied sensations that threatened to pull him limb from limb. The messy maze of motion chomped into his lost arm, and an icy chill froze like an icecube where his other leg used to be. Piercing prickles were felt in place of the vacancy that was his missing appendage. The needles, darting into his absent skin like daggers that soon became eviscerating flames.
Gildarts, the man who had yet to scream despite the viciously attacking horrors of his mind, clutched at his scalding arm and grit his teeth together. Wild and carnivorous, his eyes blazed and his ivory teeth flashed from the darkness in the part of his curling lips. Air escaped but the snarled grating of his maw reassured him that his teeth were there, he was there, despite all the nothingness that echoed back to him and the drowning howls of monsters that he could not explain.
It called upon him as it growled without shape, without the caution of time, and without fear of what it would become. A frenzied beast that Gildarts had known so well throughout his life.
The man, weaver of this pain, knew exactly what it was that he now faced. It was his weapon. His curse. The magic that he wielded to cause so much death. Others knew it as Destruction. Uncontrollable, just as chaos or time. Unyielding power, ultimate death, or simply ‘the reaper.’
Gildarts knew it as a fire whose flame could never be completely extinguished. It tore into his body, and he once again became consumed by its power. His feigning muscles, his own bones, everything he was, soon began to break. The silence was filled with his swallowed screams of despair. On his knees, he clutched at his bandage-covered abdomen and his eyes darted around the room flickering on the many points he could not see. An empty space, filling with shadows and fleeting light.
“Grrraaaahh.” He exhaled and fought the power within once more, a corner of his lip turned upward to reveal a jagged smile. The shape had been warped by torture, but the light in his eyes grew as the dimmed glow of life steadily brought color back into the dismal space.
One last gulp as he extinguished the smoldering torment of devastation before the pain-tolerant Prime rose from his humbled kneel on the dusty ground. His hand pushed against the shifting sand and his unbalanced body staggered into a stand. “Won’t get the best of me yet.” The Prime seemed to be thinking, as the images of smiling faces were called to his mind and always encouraged him to live on.
It was a hollow feeling of triumph.
For they were not there. The Fairy Tail wizard had defeated this nightmarish wave of tormenting magic, but it always seemed to come back a hundred times stronger than before.
There was no telling how many times he had endured the threat of oblivion. Yet every time, his mind grew more distant from the place his feet stood. The man was always aware he was asleep during these dreams, for his absent hand sometimes took shape and glowed when the destructive magic threatened to devour his soul. It was growing stronger than even he could control, Gildarts could only fight back when the consuming hunger became too much to bear. Soon, it would overpower him and he would not be able to face the aftermath.
Already, it had taken so much.
The gray twilight allowed him to look at his hands, one silver, the other covered in golden skin, etched with lines of time, wear, and battle scars. The corners of his mouth tugged with the weight of gravity as his brow furrowed. This was the triumph and it was always seemed like such shallow victory. He would fight for:
Another day.
...
His hands, he crunched his palms together. One left movement swept with the sensation touch, the other, he could only see. He blinked and exhaled a tired sigh as a fleck of black rain stained his organic hand. The color contrasted against his skin and the drop did not feel cold and refreshing as it should have. Instead at the touch it was warm, sticky, and his fingers smeared against the crimson paint. His weary brown eyes turned to look up, only to see that the same blood drooling from the starless sky.
Clumps of it poured from above, drenching his coat and covering most of the slippery ground. Warm ichor gelled in his hair, and the warrior refused the urge to flinch as he tasted hot scent of iron on his tongue. Blood pooled around him now, and though his hands flung with command, and waved with the will of his magic, the plasma did not disperse. Instead, it grew larger it intention to drown him. He was striding against the thick liquid that hardened as concrete. Brown eyes searched for an escape to the ‘room’ that he was soon realizing he didn’t remember ever entering. White walls, now painted black, and in the corners the levels of the blood began to grow, smothering his immovable arms and legs as the muscles of his neck bulged and his chin strained to reach above the line of warm liquid that only grew up to his ears.
An ocean of death, and he too would die in this daunting trap. Powerless, alone, and unable to pull his distant memories close to him. He was unable to gather the strength. Heavy breaths reached for air as his mouth became covered in thick scarlet that colored the stubble on his jawline.
Heaving the air into his lungs he caught one final breath before the last of the room filled and the liquid had risen above the top of his head. Swimming in blood. His muscles fought to even make a simple movement, and already his lungs burned for air.
Death had come to reap him, and whatever this place was, he immediately recognized the hopelessness that was his odds of survival. If he couldn’t move, how could he fight? He would soon suffocate on his own breath, rather than taste the blood of this thing’s victims.
“And just who are you?” A voice suddenly thundered.
Again his eyes had pressed shut as his skin fought against the liquid’s slowly warming touch. With his head spinning, his weightless feet had lost their place on the ground and replacing his thirst for air was the flood of nausea that caused his insides to collapse. And now this thing wanted to him to introduce himself.
“Oh, Gildarts huh? And why do you want to join Fairy Tail?” A gasp caught in his throat as he choked on blood, it was Makarov’s voice. And these were his memories. The same blood that surrounded him with eternal screams. Were these the people he had killed? But then... Makarov too... Gildarts shook his head, unable to bear the leaking truth.
“Ah, is that so Gildarts? I’ve heard of you before, names of courage travel far, further than the ends of the earth. We’re honored to have you as a member of Fairy Tail. But, in order to stay you must make me a promise....”
“Oh, what is that master?” Gildarts felt his heart leap as his own voice responded to this, youthful, vibrant, and untainted by the blood he would spill in the years to come. A free-spirited laugh came belting out of the youthful mage before the seriousness of their exchange consumed the silence. “Master, you have my word.”
With the rushing of wind, the sound of their exchanged farewell faded as Gildarts realized his lungs had wrinkled into prunes. Eyelids too heavy, his chin nodded toward the darkness that had left him in an empty daze. Death was supposed to be peaceful, a silent music to a weary soul such as his, yet nagging against his thoughts were the blades that began to stab into him from all around.
Lacerations formed by the same blood that had suffocated him, ribbons of his blood flowed with that of the scarlet tide as the remainder of his life was literally drained from him. Limp fatigue caused his crumpled body to fall at an inflexible angle, yet at the same time as his last minutes trickled away, a great roar woke him from his macabre slumber.

[float=left] [/float]Location/Role: Triel Baenre is the Matron Mother of Menzoberranzan, the underground city of the drow located out in the rugged and more mountainous part of the outer Pale Moors. The city, over a mile beneath sea level, is constantly growing alongside its Matron Mother. Triel only rarely leaves the city, knowing that there is no one competent enough to guide its vicious denizens in her absence. Her influence and ability to project her deadly citizens beyond the walls of the city grow with each passing month.
History: The drow are from a world call Faerun, where they reside in a place deep underground known as the Underdark. It is there that these subterranean ‘dark elves’ make their homes, scheme their plots, and worship their goddess, the Spider Queen Lolth. Drow society is one of murder, intrigue, and betrayal, but all of this is kept in check by a tight social order and hierarchy of ruling clans. At the top of the hierarchy was House Baenre—unofficial rulers of the city (because of their nature, drow would never willing accept dominance by one figure). Triel was one of the daughters of House Baenre’s Matron Mother, and due to her prominence, she served as the Mistress Mother of Arach-Tinilith as a high-priestess.
When her mother was slain in a failed attempt to conquer Mithral Hall, Triel took control of the house and its unofficial status as the leaders of the drow city-state. She had barely settled into her role as Matron Mother when she was taken to the Omniverse.
After her arrival in the Omniverse, Triel wandered. In this strange world she was separated from Lolth, but with that, there was a degree of freedom that was strangely euphoric. The god of this new world had removed all the limitations of her race, and while her powers had been sapped, she knew that she could regain them. Even more alluring, she knew she could be more here than she could ever been in Menzoberranzan.
Triel traversed the Omniverse over the course of a few months, scoping out the societies and tribes that called it home. Once she felt strong enough, she settled in a desolate place called the Pale Moors, where the only centralized location, the town of Darkshire, would offer little threat to her own designs.
Emulated after her home city, Triel created a much smaller Menzoberranzan beneath the rugged terrain deep in the Pale Moors. As the city grew and took shape, so too did its population, and after a few years, Triel found herself once again Matron Mother of the drow. [float=right] [/float]This time, however, there were no rival houses to scheme against her. These were her drow, forged from her own mind and her own hands.
Now firmly entrenched in the underground city, the drow have begun to probe out into the Pale Moors. Rumors spread that Triel played a minor role in orchestrating the path of the Tarrasque’s destruction, and there were accounts of drow working with packs of darkspawn before the banishing of the Archdemon.
Whatever the drow’s plans, it is obvious that they are not friends of Darkshire or anyone who lives above the surface.

It had been a long, hard road...but maybe in the end it just might all be worth it. A gloved hand adjusted the angle of his hat, pulling the sharply-pointed brim back around to shade his eyes from the glare of the sun, riding high in the sky on the coat-tails of noon. He let the fingers of his right hand remain lightly on the edge of his hat's brim, keeping it steady in the face of a light breeze that sprang up, while the open palm of his left hand rested on the pommel of a saber sheathed at his hip.
"Aye...looks like I might've finally found jus' the place to settle down for a spell." A broad grin broke out onto his face, his angular features making the expression look positively monstrous, like a mad beast that had just spied easy prey. Dropping his hand from the brim of his hat, the black-clad man rolled his neck on his shoulders, eliciting a series of sharp pops and cracks that didn't sound at all pleasant, and indeed the grin on his features broke into a grimace. "Aaah....a good bit o' rest before gettin' back on the trail again might do these old bones some good."
He turned an accusing eye up toward the sky, the glare of the sun shining just shy of the bottom of his eyes. "....and gettin' outta the sky's glarin' great eye for a while might not hurt, either...." he grumbled. "'Go see what's in the other 'Verses 'round the place with yer own eyes, Cap'n, and bring us back some grea' honkin' advice on where to hit first'....I'm a blasted idiot, I am, fallin' for that..."
Mumbling and grumbling to himself at his folly, the so-called captain strode forward, down a hill and toward the humble-looking village in the distance. "Bah...be lucky if me crew hasn't up and scarpered with the ship and the supplies we'd already gotten firm hold of..." In stark contrast to his foul mood and dark musings and predictions, he seemed positively lighthearted and almost happy. "Bunch of filthy, thievin' dogs they are...should've never taken 'em on board anyway. Liable to get themselves caught sooner'n later without a level head around to keep 'em on track."
He threw back his head and laughed, a deep, hearty noise. "Aaaah....good riddance to the lot of 'em, I says...good riddance." His grin returned in earnest, and he adjusted the angle of his pointy-brimmed hat to a far more rakish angle, threw out the shoulder-cape flowing over his left arm with a flair, and redoubled his stride. "Right then....mayhap a cool drink while me mood's up, before a nice lie-down for some rest...then back to the sea when the sun rises on the morrow!"

I know I said I was going OC with my second character...but the more I plotted, the less it worked. Instead, this one has been in my head for awhile, and I like him more as I keep thinking on it.
Character name: Enzo Matrix
Character source: ReBoot
Character history: Born and raised in the system of Mainframe, Enzo Matrix always aspired to be a guardian...to mend and defend his home from viruses and the Games. He idolized the guardian assigned to Mainframe, Bob, and wanted to be just like him. While his sister Dot was constantly helping Bob, young Enzo was unfortunately mostly in the way and a liability. He continued to try and help, and even managed to befriend a game AI, something completely unheard of even to the guardians. However, after a fateful battle with the Web, Bob was cast into the depths and Enzo was the only one left with guardian coding. Enzo was forced to contend with the virus Megabyte, as well as the Games. Eventually, it was too much, and he was defeated and nearly nullified by a fighting game. Instead of letting themselves lose completely, Enzo, AndrAIa, and Frisket switched their icons to Game AI mode, and were taken away.
Enzo grew quickly and changed drastically in the games. He faced challenge after challenge as he battled his way back to Mainframe, gaining many unique experiences and skills. He replaced his broken eye with a robotic one, became an expert shot with a gun, and super strong from all his experiences. Now fully grown, he no longer used his first name, he simply went by "Matrix". He was no longer the energetic young child, but instead a jaded and angry adult. Eventually they made it back to Mainframe, alongside Bob and a handful of new allies, and were able to defeat Megabyte for good and restore the system.
Peace was no longer something Matrix understood, so he kept himself occupied by battling in the Games. To his surprise, one day he would enter a game and instead appear in a world beyond his comprehension: the Omniverse.
((Matrix is taken from the end of Season 3 of ReBoot, after the showdown with Megabyte and the system restore, but before the TV movie involving Daemon.))
Physical Description:
![[Image: latest?cb=20080116224051]](http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/reboot/images/2/2a/Wrots588r.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080116224051)
Stats:
ATK: 4
DEF: 2
SPD: 1
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength (1000), Ranged Proficiency (1000)
Starting Powers: Basic Enhanced Senses (1400)
Starting Moves:
Gun (300) - Matrix uses a firearm simply named "Gun". It is a handgun that somewhat resembles a small SMG in appearance. When not in use, it is attached to his upper right leg, not requiring a holster. The gun is energy maintained, and does not require reloads. Several different modes and options are available for it, and more can be upgraded in as they re designed. These modes are switched between with verbal commands, or by adjusting settings on the weapon itself if this is not feasible. Gun is linked to Matrix's neural implant in his right eye, allowing him to sync the targeting system directly to his vision and essentially making this firearm an extension of himself.
Single Shot Mode: Gun fires powerful shots in semi-automatic fire with a small explosive impact. The rate of fire is one shot every two seconds. While it does not need reloading, it can overheat from extended use (15 or more consecutive shots), which requires a cool down of over a minute.
Total: 3700 OM
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Again.

The last thing he remembered was giving his last message to Megaman, so that Baryl would know his fate, before he had sacrificed himself to destroy the Cybeast. Even as he had voluntarily overloaded his core programming to self-destruct, he could feel the program Wily had installed to destroy himself and Iris if they ever tried to merge again activating. Even if he had had second thoughts about following through with his plan, he wouldn't have been able to back out. He would have had seconds, maybe, before he was destroyed anyway. So he might as well have put his last moments to good use.
And as the Cybeast's core soul programming was destroyed by the explosion, Colonel's awareness faded, and he knew for certain he was deleted.
It was of course, quite a shock, then, when he was suddenly made aware of one very important fact. He might have been destroyed, but he was still very much aware. Confused and disoriented by the damage he had sustained from his self-destruction, but aware. He couldn't move, which he expected after his ordeal, but the expanse of blackness his vision was filled with was more concerning. With his movement locked as it was, he couldn't even look around to see if he was just in some strange void, or if his vision programming had been damaged in some way.
He blinked once to try and clear his vision, or at least he thought he did. But he was rewarded with the sight of something all the same. It looked like a shadow, if shadows were white. And it was wearing a very distinct, broad grin as its featureless face stared, presumably, at him. Colonel tried to speak up, and voice his uncertainty, to try and ask if he really had been deleted and if this was some sort of strange cyber-limbo...but he found that either his speech programming was damaged, or he simply couldn't talk. It was as if the words just wouldn't form, not that he could have moved his mouth to speak them anyway.
Then the shadow, or....whatever it was spoke. And what it said didn't make much sense to Colonel's exhausted mind, but he made note of it and kept track of the words as best he could to think about later. Something...something about a place called the Omniverse, and how Colonel had been brought there, because he interested this....thing that called itself Omni. There were some kind of rules...something about wishes? The soldier navi tried to bend more of his focus to the task of keeping up with the words being spoken.
A strange orb of glimmering color was presented to him, and instinctively he made a move to reach out and take it...but of course he still couldn't move. It reminded him faintly of Order Points...but only very distantly. The being that called itself Omni went on, explaining what the strange orb of swirling color was, and what it could apparently do. And the way it was described made it seem very important to this place. This...Omniverse?
Omni went on, explaining more about the nature and use of Omnilium, and that there were others in this place, and how Colonel should not fear death. That was enough to get a figurative spark to jump in his mind and his awareness snapped into focus. Don't fear death? That was absurd! Even for a NetNavi, deletion was a morbid fear. Data backups were all well and good, but they couldn't keep track of what had been experienced and done since the last backup. Three days without a backup before suffering a deletion was still three days of experiences missed out on once your data was restored...
His momentary confusion was brushed aside just in time for the being called Omni to apparently finish speaking, and vanish. The darkness of the strange void faded, as if a curtain was lifted, and Colonel found himself standing in a blank expanse of white. The orb of Omnilium which Omni had offered to him still hung in the air, and Colonel finally reached out to take it, and as soon as he took hold of it, it broke apart, flowing up around his arm and into his body.
He turned his hand up, staring at his palm in a mixture of confusion and awe. He was....still alive, it would seem. He was apparently not in his home, anymore, but he was alive. It was a shock to take in, but it wasn't as if he wasn't grateful for it.
He would just have to make the most of this second chance.
