To a ship lost at sea
Shelter from a storm
The terrifying and wondrous realization that
We are not alone in the universe.
It happens in the blink of an eye.
First sight, one moment
You see a glimpse of it and it hides
Until you’re ready
Ready

It is fluid, it is whole
A smile in the morning
A touch
Of the hand
Terrifying and wonderful
All at once
You accept it, in time
It becomes a part of you
You cannot help but find it
Because it finds you
A lighthouse
