  Azathoth
Posted by: Proto Man - 11-08-2015, 07:52 AM - Forum: Site NPCs - No Replies

Location and Role:
Azathoth, the Blind Idiot God, is an ancient force of chaos older than the universe, existing in a strange state of being everywhere and yet nowhere to be found. This ancient primeval force dwells exclusively in the Astral Realm, though it influences other Zones through the wild and horrible dreams it can effect on their denizens. This unspeakable creature holds no true station, and is often not even recognized as a real force within the Omniverse, but those who have been touched by its impossible madness have irrefutable proof to the contrary.

Cults and organizations have formed to worship or to attempt to comprehend this being, these groups being often plagued by insanity and mass murders or suicides. It is difficult to say whether or not the being even has foul motives, or if it is simply horrible through its unfathomable movements.

Often, unwary dreamers are drawn to this strange creature through contact with a Black Man who leads them through the inscrutable layers of dream and mind to a place where Azathoth is said to dwell, were the garish sound of monotonous piping echoes and writhing, flopping, amorphous creatures dance. It is said that this Black Man will attempt to conscript these wayward dreamers into a bond with Azathoth by having them sign a book with their own blood. What being bound to this horrible creature actually means is yet to be understood but many who claim horrible magical power claim to be associated with it.

Appearance:
Azathoth as well as the Black Man can appear in many ways, depending on the dreamer. As creatures that exist solely within dream, and are perhaps manifestations of those dreams, what they look like highly depends on who is looking upon them.

No matter what incarnation Azathoth takes, it is most often accompanied by the monotonous sound of thin flutes, mindlessly piping without rhythm. Often Azathoth is impossibly large, created of the stars and sky that floats above each of the verses, each glimmering light another eye that stares down upon the dreamer, other times it is almost incalculably small, a strange speck of light or a hole of darkness far off on the horizon. Some have described it as an undulating mound of crinkling flesh or ooze, thousands of malformed orifices and flopping tentacles composing a sea of horror. Others still say it consists of a bivalvular shell supported on many pairs of flexible legs with several jointed cylinders, tipped with polypous appendages; and in the darkness inside the shell, a horrible, bestial, mouthless face, with deep-sunk eyes and covered with glistening black hair. Your character may see something else entirely.

The Black Man is most frequently describes as a tall, muscular or slender man, with skin thickly coated in black oil, or dark black in color. Sometimes the Black Man appears as an Egyptian Pharaoh, though very tall and strangely thin.

  Joining- Atonement
Posted by: Blue Eyes - 11-08-2015, 01:58 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (3)

Character name:Atonement

Character source:Original running for almost 13 years.

Character history:
Initial Creation & First Life As Mhin (Female Human). RP Location:Sunlay (IGT:5th Moon)
Atonement did not begin as one born unto the material plane. Nor did he begin as a spiritual creature of low standard. In days only considerable as lore to the eyes and ears of man he was born as spirit by means of physical labor. Under the works as a blacksmith. The man held little fortune making no more then farming instruments and tools of others trades but an idea did strike him to make a sword. Some speculate that his reason for making it was to change his trade to an arms maker. Some believe he simply wanted a blade to honor his household. The answer however could not be known by any but him.

Years did he pour into his craft, his blade. Binding into it his heart and soul every time he began to temper it and every new material meant to detail it to a fine quality like a noble's craft. Golds lined with silver, silvers lined with jewel, some called him mad for giving up what little fortune he had to craft the weapon but it is sometimes the misguided who are rewarded. On the fourth year of it's craft during the 5th cycle of Sunlay's moon a spirit was born. A spirit of metal that burned with a fiery passion but remained cool and collected as the passing rivers.

At first the spirit did not speak but it did watch. It watched as the blacksmith cared for the sword that was his vassal. Watching as the blacksmith showed it love as though it was a child. It would take weeks before the spirit could find the strength to speak. How deep the shock of this humble blacksmith's work when voices weaved into his mind. However, what more could be done? The man believed himself insane just as his neighbors described. Crazy perhaps but the voice was a reality that others quickly knew when they too were spoken to. The blacksmith's passion truly did create life in a weapon.

The relationship of the spirit and the blacksmith remained for what could of been deemed as an eternity. Strong of body and mind the blacksmith lived for thirty seven years after the spirit first began speaking. The blacksmith learned well to rely on his spirit blade but he forgot to care for the weapon itself and that was what stopped him from living even longer. This was for the fact that in the dead of night a man after the weapon approached the scene. However all it took was a normal, basic shortsword to snap the spirit sword in half. The spirit would be without it's home, nor it's master only forty one years into it's existence.

The spirit had nothing but interest in the arts of metal, being a spirit of a sword that was destroyed the spirit would hop from item to item. Sometimes gold amulets, steel plated armor, swords of similarity to it's old one. But no place was it's new home. How it couldn't help but wander, though it did make it a point to remain around other smithies for the bulk of it's time save for when it traveled between towns through trader's gear or the intricate carriage metal hinges of noble travelers. Through all this time however the spirit studied the metal it inhabited and methods of the smiths. This lasted easily thirty eight years

Without a body however to permanently retain it's interests the spirit would adapt some slightly quirky emotions. Emotions that could be sensed long ago of the blacksmith that it would not understand until feeling them itself. Feelings for her. Upon it's travel did it come unto a land far in the farming districts of Yhvme and there did it see the girl by the name of Vikki (Possibly 1k rather 2). Vikki was 15 years of age, a woman to be in the deepest of trouble in the alleyway. Holding no more then a dagger against three offenders she shivered and quivered, breaking as she shook.

But the metal dagger was more then enough. Three men thinking to take advantage of a young girl were nothing to a spirit weapon and when the spirit took to the blade it's size would grow. Light as a feather with the length of a claymore, a spirit to aid in it's sway Vikki was given a chance. A chance to survive and survive she did. It was the action after that the spirit was given something enough to feel it's emotion for Vikki. So many years had passed without it. Even the blacksmith, it's maker barely remembered to. Vikki gave the spirit thanks.

Oh how they talked. Talking and talking, and before long becoming deeper and deeper friends. Without even realizing it years passed and Vikki found herself longing for love. The spirit could not be her lover and it knew this to be fact, but it did know people well enough by this point, and thus it left to find the perfect mate. But how stubborn he was to follow the spirit to a random place without reason. Thus the spirit tried something new. To possess something other then metal. Oh the sensations to be had at that moment. The spirit was almost driven mad by it all.

The sound of his heartbeat by ears able to hear clear as day. Visions of colors beyond his own comprehension. The flavor of his own saliva without knowledge of what it even was. A sense of moisture from the sweat of his forearm. It all hit at once and he almost couldn't bring himself to become an it again and leave the man's body. However Vikki meant more to him then anything and thus did he go to her. Very slowly...Not knowing how to walk, use one's arms, or even turn one's head made it a bit difficult and in the end the spirit was lucky to bring the man even to a crawl before her feet.

Once they separated it was love at first sight, after the shock from the man's possession passed. He held a slight grudge against the spirit for it but it ultimately did not last longer then a month. When Vikki learned however of the possession she herself was hatching a plan. Five months in they were already deep in the relationship and Vikki found herself well into baring a child. She in her own way loved the spirit however for all it had done and thus she did something no mother could find reasonable. She offered the body of her unborn to the spirit...

To be human? To be given a chance at an actual life? The temptation was too much and eagerly...Happily...The spirit would accept, entering the womb of Vikki to take place of the child's spirit before the child's spirit could truly begin to form. But this commitment held costs. The spirit found itself locked away in darkness for the remainder of that time. Warmth with muffled sounds beyond it but never the less darkness. Further with an underdeveloped mind the spirit found it's mind going. It's memories disappearing..

When Mhin, child of Vikki was born it acted near the same as any child would. Weak, clueless, crying and without comprehension of the world. Vikki and Gjorn both realized something was wrong but never the less loved Mhin as their own, raising her to many things. Mhin learned to cook with her mother, cleaning being important as well yet an untaught lesson was known. Mhin would often care for the metal tools of Gjorn's trade with treated lard to improve their lifespan. Vikki and Gjorn knew their spirit friend was still there. No seer could see second or possessing spirits however. Only the spirit was in the body, memoryless.

It was Mhin's eighth birthday. A birthday that she would not forget for on that day Gjorn offered to her a thing that she would forever remember. An amulet. It was a simple jewel poorly carved on a line of string, but even so Mhin wore it with pride. However the true reason for this amulet was it's enchantment. Slowly the spirit's memories would return. An amulet of memories. By Mhin's tenth birthday she would remember it all. She was a spirit. But even so she loved her mother and father dearly. They changed slightly but only just to treat her as a more knowledgeable child then if they were without.

With her memories she gained many new tricks as well. The power to manipulate metal which Mhin used often with minor products. One of the things she was best at wielding being 'As strange as it may be' needles. By the age of fifteen she was an accomplished tailor and one who was making goods fine enough for Vikki and Gjorn to slack in their work and offer to Mhin more time together. Mhin adored every second and by the time she reached the age of twenty three she was setting out from home yet remaining in the village to be forever close to her parents.

The village quickly boomed into a town thanks to her craft, attracting nobles and peasants alike. The flying needle act made others sway with interest in her art but never was her heart swayed as others entered her life. Man after man hoped to take her. Many women in general hoped to break her. But neither ever made her stop loving her first love. The love she had before they became her mother. Vikki.

Her thirties held nothing of significant interest as she always kept to her crafts and her parents but by her forties she was given pain. As a spirit she barely knew heartbreak. As a girl she never had it till the age of forty two. Illness took to the land and with it did it take her mother, and in that same night her father. Both buried by Mhin in the end. It was agonizing to lose their warmth yet to her misfortunes their spirits lingered for her.

When Vikki and Gjorn's spirits remained Mhin was at first happy, always speaking with them, watching with them with the eyes to see those of her old existence, but this only lasted for ten months. She would lose her parents twice at the age of forty three when a spirit eater entered the scene. Mhin saw it there, a creature of her plane. Her realm that tore into Vikki and Gjorn alike with hopes for an easy meal. Mhin wouldn't allow it to be easy as she attacked the beast...Only to fail.

Mhin was of the material plane, not the spiritual plane. She could only thrash through the air as the devouring entity partook of Vikki and Gjorn before Mhin's very eyes. Nothing would be the same for Mhin from that point on. She no longer felt joy as she sewed. She no longer felt happiness with the smiles of others. She just felt pain. Pain she was not naturally equipped to cope with. She couldn't bring herself to for nine years and for those nine years her works became intricate and defined but for those nine years all the same she lost all hope. At the age of fifty two she would pass.

Second life as Vix the Pirate Queen/Claimed Goddess of the Sea (Female Generous/Winged human) RP Location: Sea Kiln
Losing her body and losing her will she retained herself as a spirit. The spirit of a girl. A spirit of something familiar to her. A young child to those who could see the realm of spirit Mhin became a trickster of sorts. Perhaps out of a slight bit of spite or anger out of losing her parents she would always be a child so far as she cared to know. She remembered her times as a sword spirit but Vikki was the memory that was strongest in her mind. The times they shared. The meeting between her and Gjorn. But now it was all for naught.

Even without her physical heart the pain remained and in the end her old habits took place off and on, studying metal and sometimes possessing items to improve their quality without the knowledge of those that owned them. Cheap blades would find themselves forged to noble quality in lingering stalls, jewelry would gain a new sheen, and even kitchen utensils long since worn would gain the edge to cut deep with the greatest of ease.

Despite these good deeds the whimsy of Mhin also held poor. Trickery became a game of entertainment and despite her care for metal material mankind was not so well treated. Sometimes she would whisper the marks of temptation to others, leading them to caves and ultimately to their deaths. Other times she would lead them to accidents or to perform actions without daring to take their form and possessing them to do so. But the world. The world that once held Vikki in it became too much for Mhin to bare.

Within the spiritual plane she retreated and crossed a gap she never knew to be. Casting off memory of the old world she would find another. Sea Kiln. A planet known for the vast seas and the various islands that dotted them. In this land the Generous, a species of humans with wings of brown and gold were famed but rare all the same. Humans known as Jinny existed and peculiar golems called Torvek also found refuge on the land. Here Mihn found new metals to understand such as Mithril and the Crystal Bone which was a strange sea metal that grew. For sixty three years she studied the metal as before and studied the arts of the land.

However on precisely the two hundredth year of her existence Mhin believed it to be time to move on. But she felt little love for people. Little care to know them. Finding a Generous with unborn settled in their womb Mhin would take the body without their knowing. How she remembered her Vikki of those many months of darkness, often trying to imagine the beating hearts of the woman as Vikki's one heart. It was such a difficulty with so many beating sounds off rythme but there were times that Mhin was able to trick herself for it.

Before her two hundred and first year of existence she was born back into the world with a new birthday to be had. She played the role of the perfect daughter for her mother and father yet cared nothing for them, seeing only Vikki and Gjorn in their eyes. She practically skimmed through the years. Tenth birthday she remembered her amulet from long ago. Fifteenth birthday she felt desire again for the memory long past. The desire for Vikki to be near once more. But never did she let onto her pain, yet in ways the mother always knew it to be there.

By her eighteenth birthday she left her home without any warning or reason. She left and entered a life on the waters where she let her true nature soar. Power over metal remained and with it she'd pull ships so they could cut through waters in even storms, cannon-fire meant nothing for each were made of iron and easily swayed away from her ship. By the age of twenty she went from ship sailor to a full fledged pirate. It would not take her long either. By the age of twenty one, but a single year before her name was known. She refused her birth name and called herself Vix after her beloved mother Vikki.

A ship of steel, weapons that could grapple and tear without any cannons to be seen. Lacking any crew she was quickly known as the sea god, a single person who could destroy fleets at her leisure. Yipin, Red John, Ridgit. Those who thought to challenge her fell one after another, sent to sea. She felt invincible even as two more names were added to the list. Talon and Terrin. The ones who were her mother and father. No emotion was had as she displayed the entrails of her fallen parents across the deck of her own ship, her first parents the only she cared to love.

That's when he entered her life as she turned to the age of twenty five, years without communications with others. Roji. A mere human was someone capable of putting her on her toes. He arrived not in fleet nor did he bare a ship of size. Instead he approached her ship on a dingy made purely of something interesting. Condensed Glass. Looking over the edge she saw Roji laying on the ship as though it was not there, his body seeming just that. A body in the water. Surely the waves simply pushing it closer and closer.

She paid him no mind beyond that and returned to her deck, the man soon enough reaching the boat and abandoning his ship, climbing it with magnet filled gloves and boots. The man was wise and willing to study her. He did not attack with power. He did not attack with blade. He stood upon the deck of her ship and in silence approached. When Vix turned around and looked upon him she was met with an attack she did not understand. A bouquet. Staring at the bundle of flowers she was in shock, unsure what it was about she didn't know how to react.

It was not a sword. The scent of the roses drifted and caused her to wonder for all she could remember was the stinging salty sea that tore through her nose. Sweet. Soft on her senses. Her hands would take them, her face buried into them with wonder. She would not say a word to Roji. Nor would Roji say a word to her. Instead he'd just give her the kindest smile and enter her ship even without her say. The man's actions warranted death. The man's ignorance warranted punishment. But holding to the bundle of roses she couldn't think to. Entering the ship herself she would enter her room, locking it and falling to rest as Roji slept in the hall.

The next day she did not say a word. She awoke, left her room, walked past Roji with the bouquet at hand, smashed slightly from her tossing and turning, and with it she stood on her deck again. He would awaken an hour later, gathering food from her stock and joining her on the deck simply to watch. Watching as she went about her business. Her trade. The ship moving without sail and ripping through waters, grappling hooks moving on their own to cling to a vessel, chains tearing at the masts without any hands laid upon them. But Roji did not stop smiling. Vix did not stop scowling. Nothing changed of the same old same old.

Weeks would pass, before she would speak again. She asked simply of Roji their name. Answered she replied with her claimed name as Vix. Roji showed patience none could know. The man fascinated by Vix and Vix slowly opening again to the idea of people. Roji who was but a man. As a Generous it was not unheard of for them to wed with Jinny, nor was it unheard of for them to bed with Jinny. By the age of twenty six he finally broke her down and with simple silence entered her heart. Their conversations took place and within another year were they wedded. They claimed an island as their own and before long it became a fortress deemed impenetrable by any. Even Generous could not fly their way in.

The Pirate God Vix became news, and only then did they realize her to be a Goddess instead. A female. Soon their thought of her as a goddess faltered when Roji and Vix became known as the Pirate King and Queen. Fleets organized under their banner, islands fell to chaos as they sided to their aid or were taken by force. Without warning a quarter of the world of Sea Kiln became their property. On her thirtieth birthday Vix would become something she never foresaw however to be. She would become just like Vikki. She would become a mother. They named him Gjorin. Roji would not know why but it was a name that Vix held dearly by her father Gjorn from her last life.

She played the role of a mother and she played it for the longest time. Some thought she played it well and at thirty seven her seven year old son showed signs of acquiring a weak version of Vix's metal magic. Joy was had both for his ability to make him into a fine fighter and indeed a fine young man. At the age of eighteen his power was enough to head out without fear, becoming the prince of the sea who could hold his own with the very same ship that Vix used so long ago. Being forty eight herself Vix was becoming a little old but she was able to do well with keeping track of her son even from afar.

There was ten years of pure prosperity before someone followed the path of Roji. Someone boarded the vessel of Gjorin. A woman who sought to repeat history and indeed sought Gjorin. Gjorin was quick to bring her into the fort and within a year the two of them too were wed with the same fate as Roji and Vix. Being fifty nine she felt pride in her son. The true intention of the woman however was not for love. Faei. It would be the name of their destruction. Things went so well. Laughter and joy. And the wedding would take place with the family gathered on the outlaying islands. Sandy beaches, they would arrive on a wooden vessel and drop off on land. Roji, Vix, Gjorin, Faei, and several men who each felt bonds with the family. Entering the deeper section of the island they would prepare the land for the wedding.

But they would not make it. An ambush was awaiting on that land and dared to challenge them, Faei the master to make such a situation come to pass. Quickly the several men accompanying Roji, Vix, and Gjorin were felled and only they remained. Some feared them but there was an issue. Roji rode on the tailcoats of Vix's power and Gjorin's best talents in the fights used those same talents. There was trees, sands, deep deep quarries of pure stone and cobble, and a wood ship. There was no metal to be found and even the weapons brought were wooden clubs and glass blades. History truly would repeat itself. Faei prepared the scene but another entity aided in it all. The shadowy figure of a souleater. To her fortunes not the same as the one who devoured Vikki and Gjorn. But the once made goddess of sea would watch as Roji and Gjorin were killed and ultimately devoured.

She too would have her throat slit and left at the mercy at the soul eater, but there was one issue to be had on it's end. It was true that she had no power with no metal there. But she was still a two hundred and fifty one year old spirit, and with that age came strength. The soul eater would be shredded and Faei would be haunted for the next forty eight years. After forty eight years Faei would commit suicide and be overtaken, and then devoured by Vix. The woman would forever suffer her sin as one with Vix. There was no option to be had for her all the same, but with that she knew what she had to do what she felt to be right. Metal was not enough.

As a spirit she would enter the next planes. She would turn unto Fire for fifty straight years and after turn to Water for fifty more years. The flames were interesting to study and trying to manipulate them was a difficulty. However she turned to eating other spirits of the planes to improve her chances of it. Before long she found one spirit that gave her just the right boon. She would devour and become one with a kitsune spirit. A kitsune that greatly improved her magic capacity.

Third Life as Wrath (Male Dragon) Nameless World
Vikki. Gjorn. Roji. Gjorin. Pain. She now knew the arts of fire and the arts of water. Vik knew the power of destruction and with the new arts the art of creation. Forging the finest metal she became a magic wielder of fair value in the spirit realm, but Sea Kiln held nothing for her anymore. She would move on to the next land. A world with no name (Nameless RP Forum) A world of dragons and giants, demons and diseased creatures such as were beasts and vampires. She would take one body and indeed it was one of silence. She refused to listen to the beat of the hearts and thus she took the body of a dragon. The unborn found within the egg. Rather then simply replacing the soul however she would wait half it's incubation time of one year for it to begin to forge and just as she had with the kitsune she would become one with the dragon to improve the limits of her spirit and future bodies.

Equally did she take a body and become a He. A male dragon that would hatch within the next year, and then would he find something of a cruel fate. Dragon's desire...Dragon's ferocity...Worse the Dragon's memories. Hatched his mind was flooded with knowledge that was not his own. The knowledge of an six hundred year old female dragon and knowledge of an twelve hundred year old male dragon would all become his at once. Knowledge of war, knowledge of combat, knowledge of the land, knowledge of it's people, knowledge of magic. Without even knowing the limit He would learn earth magic without ever studying it. Wrath. He refused any other name and took it up as his own.

His mother and father cared little. One born of forty children they didn't have the time to worry about each of their actions or manners. Without much warning he took to living his life and by the age of thirty he was already out in the fields of war. As a dragon he found strength he did not know. Magic that was enough to wreck havoc across the grounds. Fires erupted from shattering earth as water poured from the mountains and weapons of his enemies always missed their mark. Wrath was quickly taking on soldier after soldier, troop after troop. Vampires burned, werewolves drowned, even fellow dragons buried in meshes of steel and earth. Wrath held true to his name for any battle he partook of without any desire to let others near.

By the age of eighty four however many took down the one called wrath. He lived a hollow life focused only on battle and hate. With little story of others. Few fought by his side but always he'd turn on them in the end and that was indeed his downfall. But spiritually fused with a dragon he retained his lust for treasure, battle, and his grudge. And in silence he'd take twenty one years in the spiritual plane to revise the eighteen hundred years of gained knowledge. From the spiritual plane he'd also contribute a hundred years to the study of wind and sound for it was the arrow of wood that felled him silently in the end. He would learn to divert it and hear much better the next time...

Fourth Life. The Life That Never Was. (Male Dwarf) Same RP Site as Dragon/Third Life
Atonement's fourth life was something that he was not made happy about. Searching the lands he found a strange race of earth dwellers that had stout but sturdy bodies. Dwarves. Finding a strange woman he settled right in and readied for another life to be had. But there was nothing to be had with it. Even before the day of his birth he faced death. The woman was beaten and due to it she miscarried. There was nothing more to be said of the matter.

Fifth Life Da (Herm Orc) World of Ghit/Hilmnagar
His life was lost before it was even able to begin. All he could feel was anger. Human, Dwarf, Dragon. They were all the same. No species was different in the end. Leaving the planet he moved to the next and through the next gap he found a land of Orcs and Elves. Hilmnagar and Ghit. Elves called it by Hilmnagar and Orcs called it by Ghit. Here Wrath sought a new body but this time he sought one that was a spectacle. Something abnormal and interesting. Spending two years he would search.

During his time searching he spoke with many and that include elven kind who seemed to take spirits well. Even modified spirits resembling a draconic fox humanoid of many tails. The orcs saw his spiritual form more as a minor deity seeking followers to gain power. In truth Wrath did not much understand it. However he also paid it little mind. Speaking with the creatures was no aid however. Elves kept many orcs as slaves which infuriated him. Orcs were brutal, fierce but at least they were honest about what they were. They would happily kill if they had to.

Finally he found one that he desired. A peculiar body within an orc. The unborn held benefit of both man and woman and without any waiting he took to the body of the orc woman and resumed the long wait to be born again. So many things were possible and when he was born he would be born both as man and woman, he, she, whatever one dared to call it Wrath took up the orc name of Da. At first they thought to remove the male component to give her a normal life as a woman but they also saw a sign. When Da was born they were born with a swollen right knuckle which gave merit to them being a truly grand fighter in days to come.

It was a silly belief but it was also the thing to save Da's willy so they couldn't care less. But it was kept secret for Da's body beyond that was mostly feminine. Rui, Da's mother continued to keep him safe for the many years and by the age of three Da was old enough to bare the burden of labor. Da found that despite his choice of a strange body, he forgot to choose location as well. He was born under the slavery of the elven kind. But put to work he made sure things were made easy.

In the frigid cold of winter's grasp him and his elders found warmth for the airs themselves felt as if heated by sun, yet the over-seers watching them always felt the bitter chill and often would find their gear frosted over by the end of the day while the orcs looked to have come from a warm climate. No elf could explain it and no orc bothered to question it. But Da knew for it was his control of wind, water, and fire that frosted the gear, warmed the orcs, and pushed back the cold winds.

In the heat of summer it was the opposite. Orcs always found the cold winds chilling the surface of their skin as they worked while the elves often had to leave them for several minutes on end to get out of the heat as if they were being baked alive. Once more the mischievous nature of Da held firm. This was simply how Da was though. He didn't care much for others but he felt more enjoyment of the Orc's company then the elves. It would take time but by the age of six they would finally know.

It took time but the elves finally recognized that Da had an aptitude for Magic. Taking him from the slave quarter they made him into a pet project, and with that Da found new ways to work with his desire for power. He would hide his potential and take to the magic they had to teach. First was lightning which brought him much pain to try and use. A product that reacted poorly to his natural beginnings as a sword spirit, a being of metal he found that it continually returned to his body upon use and burned him immensely.

The elves quickly discovered he could not work with lightning but he could work well with wood. Old Man Ricket sought to teach him first. The man was strange and a bit senile but by his elven blood held a grace about him that Da honestly could not take to with ease. Even so the man was of use as they taught Da the art of weaving Vines and growing bushes. The work of Wood Magic was a wonder to be had but Ricket would not be his only teacher. In a trick was Ricket lost as a teacher. Elves were good about stabbing one another in the back and Da was quickly taken by the one to do the stabbing. Ferhit.

Ferhit was not an enjoyable man but Da wasn't one who cared on who the teacher was. Instead Da continued studies under Ferhit and learned how to manipulate roots and even move trees. Many elves marveled at the idea of an orc being able to use magic but to be able to learn it well? That was a whole league of it's own that none were able to understand. Though there was plenty of mockery at Da's attempts to wield lightning off and on he happily pressed further till he could change the very action of trees in general.

Yumi did not appreciate Ferhit's methods however. Now and then she would take the time to teach Da herself how to tend to flowers with the utmost care. Da might not of shown a great interest but later on this would impact his life. Da kept studying under the elves and kept studying until he repeated his patterns. Just as he studied fire for fifty years, water for fifty years, wind and sound for fifty years a piece, he would study wood for fifty years.

From his dead teacher Ricket to the sweet Yumi Da would be done with his fifty years of study. But with that did it mean it was time for new actions. The elves he put up with. The people that taught him so much and treated him like a toy or in few cases such as Yumi like a person. He would find himself killing each one after another. Their lightning did nothing as his draconic knowledge raised stone as shield. Their wood magic would not react as they found themselves outmatched by Da. In a house of thirty seven elves not even their kin survived.

He had nothing else to learn and because of that it was time to return to what he knew best. The knowledge of his third life. His life as a dragon. His life of war. His life as a Generous. His second life as the God of Sea. One by one he destroyed elven households. One by one the orcs learned of the war hero. Those that were not slaves followed him, each itching for war. Those that were slaves followed those that followed him, each itching for revenge. In twenty one years the elves would be crushed, the orcs scaring them off into hiding. At the age of Seventy Seven Da was a war hero.

But Da no longer had a reason. Da no longer had a purpose. He could wage war against the orcs but with their lack of magic there was no challenge in that plan. All the world knew was wood and lightning magic. He could study none from the spiritual plane that he didn't already know. His life on that planet turned empty only in a matter of days and his wrath had been settled fairly well. Only days after being a war hero his final words were said. "I'm no longer needed here." They would worship Da as a deity after this act, as he took his own life to move on.

Sixth Life Stahlern(Male Giant) Mystic Realm of Ovi
Six hundred and eighty seven years spiritually. But he had to find more. Yet he felt there to be so little point. What was the purpose? What was the reason to waste time trying to gain power? Why keep trying when it wouldn't bring them back. Vikki, Gjorn, Gjorin, Roji. Each name tormented his mind still and even in death there was no peace. There was no happiness as he took life after life and pressed on to keep trying to gain something that might make things right for him. No matter how many he killed it made no difference.

Despair. Falling to depression he found a new world in the land of Ovi. Giants and gnomes, humans and elves, orcs and winged beasts. So many things but so little reason to care. However there were some things that proved interesting, and an idea even came to Da's head. Finding a previously born child Da believed it to be a sizely man and entering his body he devoured their spirit before inhabiting the shell. What Da didn't know was he was in the body of a giant and was no more then a mere child. Not that it mattered. Quickly he separated from his parents and ran far from the town to the next and then the next.

He found it exciting to be on the run even if by choice and many things came easily. If he wanted food he simply took it and those that tried to stop him would simply be roasted from the inside out with bitter flame or strangled by their own jewelry. If he wanted cloths he'd just take them, even if from someone who was wearing them at the time. Some found him to be a menace and others found him interesting. A magic wielding giant caused many to take their interests to him in person and once more another hollow life began.

In his youth he cared little as he drank his alcohol gained simply by a slight of hand or force of it. Often found lounging underneath the trees he was care free. Throwing gnomes to cause distractions so he could steal rarities, smashing faces in to make humans a 'prettier' race, and finding himself women. One woman after another when he grew of age would fall victim for a cheap charm and be left after the night was over.

Victoria was one such woman, a human and no more then that. How he was pleased with himself that night. The woman unable to walk after for the week. She was one he would come to visit time and time again, laying with her on several occasions until she fell in love with the giant. He himself cared nothing of her and left only to be followed. Worse she would follow him for the longest time, to her misfortune.

Victoria threw off his game time and time again. Often ruining his attempts to steal he found himself without as he liked more being on the run then the chaos if destruction. Hitting on women would be met with her coming around and shooing the girls off behind his back. What could he do. The answer was simple. The woman wanted to throw him on the straight and narrow and thus he would offer to marry her.

In a church people gathered. The bell would ring many times over. Dressed in a white suit his bride Victoria came in a veil fine and shimmering with passing lights. The purpose of it was easy enough. He wanted to make this a nightmare for her. Vows were spoken and upon the words asked if she would take him as his wife the reply was obvious. When he was asked the reply 'Should' of been obvious. No.

The shock on her face caused a cruel grin on his, his hand taking her by the neck and in an instant snapping it. All of it to ruin her dream. How her family stood their ground for it, charging the scene only for his fire to boil her blood, her body bursting and showering them with their beloved Victoria's entrails and bone fragments. With that he used the winds to cast himself off and in moments he was gone.

Julia was no different. She sought to put him into a straight path but perhaps not so narrow. Limiting some of his actions he showed little mind and indeed seemed to 'Enjoy' her company. But he was in no mood to work and make this as intricate as the last individual he had ruined. In their travel between towns he would snap Julia's legs and slit her wrists midst the forests, leaving her to bleed to death alone. It was funny how little people tend to learn their lessons. His should of been obvious. Don't trust him.

But people still did. Mary who was given three days of pleasure for three days of pain before a cruel end. Vikky who dared to claim the name of his mother who's head was crushed upon their first meeting. Blake who thought to make the man like a brother in their adventure but simply could not keep up. By this point he finally chose a name for himself. A name to stick. Stahlern.

At the age of one hundred and one since possessing the body he lost his life to his chaotic lifestyle and it was the drugs that did him in. Seven hundred and eighty nine years of age in his existence he thought on what to do from the spiritual plane. He partied and he killed. He hated and he loved. In thought he finally figured on what he could do. He would stop. Flowing into the realm of spirits he would close himself off from studies and the outside world to meditate on life itself. He would do this until he was exactly eight hundred years old. When he awoke he decided to study again, this time taking up Ice Magic and as ever before he'd spend fifty years in the study.

At the end he sought a new body. But this time he sought the body of a demon. He sought something with a high capacity for magic, a great physical limit, and a natural beauty that would shine through until the end. He indeed would find it...After seventeen years of searching. A woman who's magic potential was excessive would mate with a man who's condensed muscle held the capacity he sought. But this time he would manipulate the entire situation. As he sewn the seed in his mate Stahlern would weave the seed to grow naturally into the body he desired. Dense as metal, magic potential rivaling the creatures of origin, beautiful by taking the best of both it's mother and it's father. The body of something that could change it's gender at will.

He would spend every minute making it perfection before his eyes...

Seventh Life Stahlern (Metal Kitsune) Boundless Universe

After all the modifications to the body he found that it was without a soul. No matter how long he waited there was no sign of life. In truth this made his life a bit easy as he simply moved into the empty shell of a body. In another way it made things difficult for he looked forward to gaining more power through another soul eaten. Ultimately he could not pay it too great a mind and with that his waiting would begin. Waiting in the womb and contemplating on what actions there were to be had once he was out.

There were many possibilities. He could just kill his parents as ever before and be free to do as he pleased. But the woman was a magic wielder and one who could offer at least something for his general knowledge. Oh how much she'd suffer though. Without a way to limit his body it would become rough and jagged, rending and tearing at a constant even without his say. The process of her birthing him was needless to say...Painful. Upon his leave however he did just that. Bandages wove under the newborn's arms on their own, wrapping and before long hiding the jagged body till he looked human as any other.

The woman could not fathom what she had given birth to. A beast, a god, a mere mortal. So many possibilities were present but in the end she simply decided simply that she had given birth to her son. There was no reason to judge him beyond that in her eyes, though one truly should considering the spirit of the shell. Stahlern, a being that brought much pain and misery was now with new victims. With no regret, no pain, no sorrow for his actions he would play the waiting game...Learning enchantment from his mother as well as how to close the spans of reality, breaking through and simply entering to desired locations (Teleportation).

Stahlern all but took all limits he could learn of his 'Mother' and even took revision as they tried teaching him elements he already knew. But in the end his nature called. There was no purpose in hanging around the woman who knew him not. There was no purpose to the father who had no knowledge to teach him. With backs turned both would be killed and Stahlern would be free to roam without care at the age of twenty three. Spiritually eight hundred and ninety years of age. Physically twenty three. Mentally two thousand six hundred and ninety years old thanks to eighteen hundred years of draconic knowledge. Time was without meaning for him and for Stahlern's ambition. The world was his toy...

The land went by the name of Faerune and Stahlern was most happy to tread it. However hunger overtook him as he met a man of great interest. Jerry the Sumo Sized Giant of twenty two thousand pounds. With a mere loincloth for coverage, a shield the size of a shack's roof, and a bow that could shoot small trees from it the man should of been all the threatening and Stahlern loved it. The man would be a meal surely, and with that did Stahlern strike.

The battle did not wage long for Jerry had his tricks. A giant of twenty two thousand pounds with a bit of magic to his name was what Stahlern had found. But the magic was something that interested Stahlern to great intensity. Jerry would be one who with little warning jumped with a spell to raise his heights. Hundreds, thousands of feet in the air the oversized giant all but flew and Stahlern was interested in what their plan was. At the peak of his reach Jerry became something interesting. He changed his mass to a metal form and triggered a new spell that turned mass and velocity into explosive force...

Mass of twenty two thousand pounds and a velocity from dropping a few thousand feet from the sky. Stahlern watched in awe as this bomb of a man fell upon him and quickly Stahlern fused into the metal of the bomb just before the explosion. Several yards in each direction would crater, a bit filling with sea water on that sandy beach were formed, and midst it but a giant metal ball. Stahlern was pleased and left Jerry alone after that saying simply how beautiful a man he was. Mostly for how beautiful Stahlern found the destruction to be...

Jerry became like an ally but Stahlern dared not say friend and it was thanks to Jerry that Stahlern met Sharazi. Captain Sharazi, a pirate who was sought a seemingly unattainable future for a mere human. Stahlern too took to Sharazi's pride. Though in truth it was merely for the fact that he reminded Stahlern so greatly of Roji. But this man's 'Allies' were a nuisance. A first mate constantly under Stahlern's feet and a mermaid that would serve better on a roast rack and served with a squeeze of a lemon.

Though they were right. Stahlern's primary interest was in taking in the end and ultimately he would of taken everything from Sharazi. Step by step he would give Sharazi boons until there was enough to take... During this time however he sought many other things. The first mate secretly commissioning boats caused Stahlern to stalk him and the mermaid that was always so near to his heart. Yet with their distrust of him he had to find another way to be near.

Ophiuchus. Off and on Stahlern had awakened the boy to torment his spirit for he could not refuse, nor deny Stahlern. Now Ophiuchus would be a tool and against their will he would send the boy to follow the first mate and mermaid while he...Contributed...To the secretly commissioned ship. Even the deepest secrets of the captain were lost. But one thing would be different. Stahlern would leave Ophiuchus awake this time so that the boy could endure further pain and be a tool of use. With it he offered unto the child one tail to allow it to retain enough power to exist but nowhere near enough to challenge Stahlern. At over eight hundred years of age and the soul of Kitsune Stahlern would of been at a total of nine at one per hundred years of age and one at the start.

Around this time he also began making something he did not have a chance to have for a long time. A family. But it was not in the normal sense. Stahlern quickly bound people by their very spirits and kept them near almost as play things. A quick and easy lay or a person to hold when he felt like he had an urge to. To be able to talk and to lead yet with their binds, people who could never betray him. Yet there was one. One that confused him beyond all else. A shadow. A void. A small girl taken from the world and cast as a living into the realm of the dead. The universe of the unknown that left her knocking on the doors of reality to escape. Stahlern had never seen it before...A child that was put into a position to suffer in such a way that even time's end would not stop it.

"Come with me. Accept my contract." His voice would reach her. To tell her to accept a piece of his soul so that he could entrap hers. With a thought that she could escape? The child accepted. Stahlern's contracts were strong and a piece of that contract was one rule that could bend most rules that could not be directly broken. The power to bring any under his contract to his side when he desired and as he saw fit. With his tails of serrated metals, his claws thick enough to rend trees, and a desire to get his new prize he'd break through the walls that kept the world of the living separated from the void.

He'd pull the child out that day and offer to her a dress made of his fur to protect her from the elements of the living world, a world her body could not cope with immediately. But that was it. The power used for this made him too weak to fight or at times move and it was a feat that could of left him swallowed up into that same darkness. If luck had not been on his side? He would of been. Yet even with that much risk to obtain this "Prize" he did nothing with her. He let her do as she wished, speak as she wished, even leave his side. Why? Because for some reason he felt his heart beat at least once that day. A heart he ignored for years. The heart that was suppose to be held by Ophiuchus in emotions he had locked away.

This all was a mistake though. The gods had kept watch over him. The devils too that perverted the lands in ways of their desire. Stahlern was in such a weakened state that some sought to take what he had before it could be used again. It wasn't easy and the fight was long. Stahlern battled within a reality not his own and still bent the rules to just survive. Yet it was not enough. They took his knowledge over much magic and his power over contracts. They shattered his family before he could recover and help it grow again. Needless to say they also remembered his...Actions...

His life became a fight for survival for a time as he tried to regain his losses to no avail. But his capacities were not so limited as that was a thing of his very soul. Strangely, some bound to his contracts returned to him but if only because they thought they understood him. One who befriended Ophiuchus who knew the boy to be another side of Stahlern. One who had their new born threatened in order to be forced into the contract. And the one pulled from the void who was actually given a love unknown. The one to befriend Ophiuchus became their father beyond Stahlern's reach and checked in from time to time. The one pulled from the void searched for her family but was still in his memory.

But the one who's new born was threatened was one who he committed the greatest sins against. There was no way to ask for simple forgiveness but even after the contracts broke Stahlern had felt something peculiar for the girl. The girl was a species that could feast upon rotting flesh. A creature that wielded lightning that was in truth Stahlern's greatest element to fear. A monster that felt nothing for the 'Cattle' in cities and towns yet cared for her own kind. In a way some called this a demon. To Stahlern this woman of instincts was something no other human, even new born ever were. Pure.

Stahlern became the servant of this woman and gave her his power for use by his hand. To kill her enemies and rend them apart. To protect her people from outside threats. Even when they left together for another world he did all in his power to build her a kingdom. Moving mountains, changing the sea shores, pushing back the forests, even making golem guards called Polycephaly. All for her. Everything for her. But what came to be was beyond anything he could hope. She took her revenge at long last now that his use was over, and for the first time Stahlern accepted it as how it should of been. He should of died, but for her it was okay.

Eighth Life as Atonement (Prime Kitsune Male) The Omniverse

His life was over. As the blade pierced his heart he knew his task was still to protect his beloved. To protect her kingdom. Casting off the shackles of his power that bound him to a path cruel and unusual to both others and himself he fed the golems of his make, the Polycephaly with the last of what he had to give. His heart was always hers to take. His life was always given for her. It was worth it. Wasn't it? Perhaps in his next life he'd be able to find her again. To find her kingdom still standing...

Humanity wasn't such a bad thing. And what was the importance of power in the end? His eyes would close and he'd prepare to accept his fate. This life as a spirit of dragon and fox, human and demon, giant and orc, his very soul was a mess but it was worthwhile. All of it was perfection. But his breath was still drawn. He was not dead as he foresaw himself to be for being pierced through his heart. Instead he was certainly alive and likely ready to stand before Omni before being dropped into an 8th life. A life to begin in The Nexus.

Be it with one or two blades at a time, the Jian Blade is the weapon of choice measuring around 1.8 meters/31 inches/ 2 feet 7 inches. Composition is primarily of steel with the bulk of it's weight being provided from the pommel to arched guard. Despite the common weight the Jian Blade has an added heft to it's core making it around 4.5 pounds of which 2.5 remains solely in the handle, guard, and pommel. This is 72 ounces of which 40 are in the handle, guard, and pommel. This is by the steel being a compressed product rather then just an minor bulk. Normally this could lead to a more fragile blade but the entirety of the compressed bulk is in the core itself leaving the outermost layer giving enough to absorb sharp blows. The Jian Blade is a straight blade and are considered a gentleman's weapon.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
Yup, simple enough. And not being a Diva's also simple enough. Or at least I hope so...

Character name:
Sans

Character source:
Undertale

Character history:
Sans was among the many Monsters that lived within the Underground, trapped forever by a magical barrier constructed by Humans to prevent another war from being created. Unlike many other Monsters, however, Sans had come to accept the fact that he would never escape, and decided to make the most of it. He and his brother Papyrus eventually helped colonizing Snowdin Forest, and became citizens of Snowdin soon afterwards.

It was around this time that the first of eight humans would fall into the ruins from Mount Ebott. He never learned his name, but what he did know was that, for the first time since they got there, the kingdom of the Underground had hope. What happened was that this human was rescued by a fellow monster named Asriel, who became best friends. The human was treated just as respectfully as Asriel was, and an era of peace was at hand.

Then, the human and Asriel died.

Sans was there to witness the sudden declaration of war against humanity; all humans that fell down the hole in Mount Ebott were to be killed. He was around when he queen suddenly disappeared without a trace to be found. And he was there to see Papyrus become really obsessed with joining the Royal Guard, which he didn't actually dislike as much as he thought he would.

Six more humans fell down the hole, and they all ended the same way. During these rather terrible events, Sans had become a sentry for the town of Snowdin, with Papyrus convincing him to do so. However, he rarely did his job, much to the annoyance of Papyrus, and he instead passed the time practicing knock knock jokes at the gate of the ruins, which was the place the Monsters first entered when they went underground.

One day, however, while Sans was practicing knock knock jokes, he thought he heard a women's voice behind the door of the gate, something he hadn't heard before. To test, he did a knock knock joke that ended with a really bad pun, which then resulted in a very long exchange of awful puns and jokes between the two. For a long time, they exchanged jokes and were good friends.

Then one day, the women was doing something strange: she wasn't laughing no matter what jokes Sans used. Going quiet, the women asked him to make a promise: that any human that walked through the gate would be protected by him. Sans would later look back on this moment, saying "i couldn't say no to someone who enjoyed bad jokes as much as me."

A while later, he did just that. The eighth and final human walked through the gate. His name was Frisk. He kept a close eye on him throughout his journey through the Underground, and judged him in the Final Corridor when he was about to confront King Asgore. However, something strange was going on, and Sans knew it. He had sneaking suspicions that the human knew more than he was letting on. For example, when he was right behind the human when they first met, the human turned around at the exact moment he was about to ask him to turn around. It was also here did he get the feeling that the human was a lot more psychopathic, as he saw him kill Papyrus with his very eyes. These events eventually caused Sans to study up on quantum physics and enlist the help of scientist W.D Gaster, where he discovered the truth.

The human named Frisk had the ability to SAVE and RESET, which worked similar to time travel. Frisk could, at literally any time, reset the timeline so that he could start anew, with no one able to remember meeting him. This could make him do unthinkable actions just to see what would happen.

Upon discovering this, Sans knew he couldn't be a "lazy-bones." He had to do something.

Conveniently, the human was killing literally everything in his path, including Undyne and Papyrus. Sans had no choice but to interfere before the human killed Asgore, as his new knowledge of the timelines allowed him to foresee something... malevolent happen to the world if he did. Encountering the human in the Final Corridor, he proceeded to fight him with all of his might, possibly winning dozens of times, trying to get the human to RESET. However, the human eventually got a lucky hit, causing him to bleed out blood (or ketchup.) With the knowledge of what was to come shortly afterward combined with the fact everyone he ever loved or cared about was now dead, as well as his mortal wound, he succumbed to his injuries.

Then... he was reincarnated. In a new timeline. In the Omniverse.

Them Bones (requires Ranged Materilize Proficiency, requires Ranged Proficiency, requires Remote Control Proficiency) Cost: 900
Sans is obviously not the powerhouse that many feared back in the Underground thanks to the new omniphysics employed by the Omniverse. The majority of his powers have subsequently been reduced as a result of this.

Them Bones is a wide variety of different attacks and defenses Sans can use. The bones themselves can take on a wide variety of forms, and Sans also can have them materialize from almost any location. All of the forms are white in color, and can be destroyed by a single blow from pretty much anything at no harm to the attacker. He is also occasionally seen using Them Bones as a means to defend himself as well as a means to attack. The materialization time is pretty fast, taking only one second if he wanted to use all the bones he needed, while taking only one second longer to use. He also has full control of his bones, and can move them around the battlefield if needed.

The "variety" of Them Bones are usually cosmetic, and almost never have an impact on the battlefield. However, Sans has around three "modes" for Them Bones that he has at his disposal. However, he cannot use one while another is in use (Meaning he can't use "Spears" while he is using "Shield." He has to drop the shield to use "Spears.") Also, he cannot use the same move more than a few times in a row, as constant usage drains his energy VERY quickly.

- Them Bones (Spears)
The "Spears" are around two-three feet long, and usually has the physical description of a femur bone. Like all the others, the "Spears" take only one second to materialize if he wanted to use all that he can use (which is about a total of five) and can be destroyed in a single blow from any attack. The "Spears" rarely do any substantial damage unless the opponent has ridiculously low DEF (around 0,) or the opponent simply starts getting hit by too many. Also, he cannot use the "Spears" as melee weapons. It cannot also be used in conjunction with "Spears" and "Shields." Finally, he cannot use it more than a few times in a row, or else he would drain his energy reserves VERY quickly.

When he wants to use them, he simply materializes them anywhere he wants (exception being from a surface) before waving his hand in the direction of where he wanted to throw them. This would result in the spears shooting rapidly at wherever he was waving his hand at, most likely impaling whatever object (or person) was there at the time, though given the omniphysics, it is unlikely it will do any substantial damage.

- Them Bones (Sliders)
The "Sliders" function similarly to the "Spears," with the exception being that, unlike the spears, they can only be summoned if they touch the ground. Looking identical to the "Spears" and only being around three feet tall, they function almost the same as the "Spears." Like the "Spears," all that he needs can be materialized in once second (the most he can have out is around five,) and he can wave his hand in whatever direction necessary. It's how they move to that location that is different.

Instead of simply shooting through the air like a thrown spear, the "Sliders" just slide along the ground at an equally rapid rate, not leaving any traces of its presence in the earth. Like the "Spears," they are easily destroyed, and do the exact same amount of damage, though Sans could use "Sliders" as a means to surprise his opponents. Also, like with "Spears" and "Shields," it cannot be used alongside any other move in "Them Bones." Finally, also like with "Spears," he cannot use it more than a few times in a row without draining his energy.

- Them Bones (Shield)
The "Shield" works completely differently from "Spears" and "Sliders" in that it is used purely for defensive purposes. It is about three feet wide and three feet tall, and is composed of about six sets of femur bones. Unlike the bones in "Sliders" and "Spears," these bones aren't easily destroyed, requiring a few hits to break.

Like the moves before, it only takes one second to form and one second to use, only needing a wave of Sans' hand to utilize. The "Shields" can come out of any surface, though it does no damage, and only serves as a means of defense. However, as it has already been stated, "Shields" cannot be used in conjunction with any other move in "Them Bones." Also, he can only summon one shield, and it can only cover him from one direction of his choosing, leaving him vulnerable if an attack gets behind his shield. Finally, it requires more energy from himself in order to use, keeping him from using it too much and forcing him to rely on his speed to avoid damage, with the "Shield" being used to block attacks that he most likely wouldn't dodge.

Gaster Blaster: (requires Ranged Materialize Proficiency, requires Ranged Proficiency) Cost: 300
Arguably his most powerful attack, Sans has the ability to summon up to two goat skulls that, when summoned, shoot out white beams at his intended target. The Gaster Blaster's can be summoned from anywhere, though it can only be summoned as far as thirty-five feet from Sans. It can also be summoned in conjunction with Them Bones.

The Gaster Blaster's are damaging (for Sans anyway,) though it has some flaws. It takes slightly longer to summon (about two-three seconds total,) and about two seconds longer to shoot. Also, a way to indicate he is about to use them is when one of his eyes start flashing from yellow to blue, making it slightly predictable.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

  Sam Vimes
Posted by: Proto Man - 11-07-2015, 06:05 PM - Forum: Kingdom NPCs - No Replies

Role/Location: Kingdom's Captain of the Guard, station in Minas Tirith.  Sam Vimes enforces the rules and laws of the Kingdom’s metropolis.  While he can often be found within his office or on the streets, Vimes has fallen back into his old drinking habits to an extent, and can be also found frequently in the taverns of Minas Tirith.
[float=right][Image: tumblr_lquqagRARq1qjj1fso1_500.jpg][/float]

Story: Sam Vimes was born in Cockbill Street in the Rimwards part of the Shades, the poorest area of Ankh-Morpork.  The place was very poor, although the crime was surprisingly low.  At a young age, Sam joined a youth gang.  Despite a rocky youth and a dead father, Sam joined the City Watch at the age of sixteen.  What followed there-after was a nearly two and a half decade long career of enforcing the law.

By the time he arrived in the Omniverse, Sam Vimes had become Captain of the Watch, although he was permanently embattled by the society around him.

It is not entirely known by what means Vimes had arrived in the Omniverse, or much of his earliest history within the verses, only that he eventually came into the service of King Aragorn. Quickly being recruited into the City Guard of Minas Tirith, he quickly rose through the ranks in the chaos following the months after the Battle of the Black Gate, eventually becoming the Captain of the Guard.

Quickly bringing order back to the city and restoring the Guard's reputation, Samuel was praised for his efficient and uncompromising manner, being awarded many titles and a place among the nobility of the Kingdom, much to his ire.

To this day, Sam Vimes continues to serve as the Commander of the City Guard, hunting down criminals and keeping the laws of the Kingdom in Camelot. Despite his cynical and jaded demeanor, he continues to be popular among his own watchmen, although is a cause of much irritation for the nobility of the city.

[float=right][Image: Ch_Jack_(Harvest_Moon-_Boy_and_Girl).jpg][/float]Location/Role: Jack wanders the Pale Moors, Camelot, Tangled Green, and the Vasty Deep, doing his best part to help others and to repair injuries to the land. He makes longer stays in small villages, imparting some of his farmer and rancher wisdom onto people trying to make it in the world. There are also accounts of him protecting people from attacks, although most stories talk of him as a quiet, peaceful man with an unrivaled intuition about plants and animals.

Story: The man known only as Jack has a rather vague history. For all intents and purposes, he came from a rather ‘normal’ world, where he worked as a farmer/rancher/manufacturer/merchant. Somewhat nomadic, he would spend a few years in one young village or farm before leaving it in able hands and moving onto the next place in need of a green-thumb and a busy-body. Although he never married, Jack courted many ladies across the vast world he called home.

At some point, Jack found himself in the Omniverse. Although he was confused as to why he’d be brought to the Omniverse (he considers himself to be a rather plain, ‘normal’ person), he figured that Omni brought him here for a reason. So he set out to do as he did in his previous life—help people. As he preferred the provincial/rural lifestyle, Jack avoided the large centers of civilization, figuring that they probably had the resources to care for their sick and needy.

Since then, Jack has become something of a folk character. Never one to stick in one place for long, he’s been spotted frequently in the duchies and baronies of Camelot, as well as the Tangled Green, Pale Moors, and the Vasty Deep. Always one to help people, he comes and goes when needed, acting for many down-on-their-luck communities as a sort of guardian angel. While rarely violent, he is known to protect the helpless whenever they fall under duress.

  Beastmaker - an RP Boardgame?
Posted by: Undyne - 11-07-2015, 12:23 PM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (5)

If any of you read "The Seventh tower" by Garth Nix, you'll know what I'm talking about. For the others, at one point in the book series the protagonist played a game called Beastmaker, which I think would be awesome to have in the Omniverse.
Basically, it's a competitive game where you create a chimeric monster by combining seven creatures and having it duke it out against your opponent.

The rules are simple: it's a boardgame with two sides, which have seven card "slots" and a round open area in the center. The game also includes a deck of cards which is shared by the players. The players then in turn draw one card, which will represent a monster, animal or beast, and put it into one of the card slots of their choosing while declaring their move.
Each slot has an attribute displayed next to the slot with a little pictogram: "Intelligence" (a brain), "Strength" (a flexing arm), "Temperament" (bulging veins), "Speed" (two triangle arrows), "Heart" (a <3), "Skin" (scales) and "Joker" (a ? mark). Once all seven cards are laid out on both sides, a chimera will appear in the central piece, having the attributes of the seven cards in the slots.
As a player places their card, they must announce what they are doing. For instance, let's say player A drew a "Mountain Bear" and wants to put it into the Strength slot. They will say "Strength of a Mountain Bear" as they put the card in. There is no real "wrong" placement, as all cards have their advantages and drawbacks.

Intelligence is less straightforward than it sounds: how smart will your chimera be? Instinct-driven or humanly intelligent? This also influences its reflexes and how it may react to other chimeras.

Strength is also fairly complex: is your chimera suited for powerhouse attacks or for quick bursts before needing a break? And where is its strength? A gorilla has quite different muscle setups than say, a tiger.

Temperament dictates the actions and reactions of your chimera. Are they quick to anger, do they even have a berserker trigger? Or do they remain calm and collected? Will they attack fast or be more analytical? Do they taunt the other monster? Or are they observant hunters?

Speed is relatively straightforward: is your chimera fast, and how so? Do they have lightning-quick reflexes? Do they cover big distances in short amounts of time? Again, the gorilla and tiger example: a tiger is fit for quick bursts but will rapidly tire, where a gorilla is slow but steady.

Heart dictates the most important organ of your chimera. Is it a powerful pump that sends blood through the chimera and keeps it nicely topped off? Can it accelerate to huge rates to restore stamina? A heart is the foundation to your chimera, thus it's important to choose wisely.

Skin once more is straightforward: what sort of stuff separates the vulnerable flesh from your opponent's chimera's attacks? Hard scales? Blubbery skin that fills in the injuries? Rubbery skin that causes attacks to bounce off? Maybe it's slimy and sticky?

Joker is probably the most fun slot: it gives your chimera a special ability, which is pretty much unique to the cards you draw. This can be an offensive, defensive or utility thing and without thorough knowledge of the game it's hard to know what you'll get. Wings? Snapping jaws? Extendible claws? Regenerating stone-skin? Firebreath? A sword? It could be anything.

After the cards have been set, the chimeras appear in the center of the board and will proceed to battle to the death. Last one standing is the winner.

Special Rules: These can be used if you want but don't have to be included.

Swap out allows you to switch two monsters in their respective slots that you have previously placed. You can only do this once, after placing all seven cards but before the chimeras appear.
New draw lets you discard a card you drew but consider unfitting for your current setup, and draw a new one. You can only do this once, and you can't back out on your discarding if the new card doesn't fit you either.

Card deck... yeah, that's the problem. 40+ cards would probably be the minimum. Until then I was thinking that players can use... say, a Hearthstone deck that picks out a random card for you. Or a list of Dota2/LoL heroes with a random one being picked out.

This could also take place in a Yugioh-esque fashion where the two characters have a machine attached to their arm and place the cards there.

Anyone play it? It's in open beta atm. Apparently likened to Hearthstone/MTG but with Final Fantasty Tactic-esque battle shit going on. I'm downloading now since I'm over Hearthstone but could definitely play another CCG.
