Quote:Previous thread: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=9432
Amaterasu was the first of their group to set foot into the Oververse, and while the others followed her through the portal she stood there, drinking in the sights without even trying to restrain her amazement. Clouds of the purest white formed platforms on which stood marble buildings and pillars of stone adorned with gold and silver. More of the winged creatures like the one they had seen in the black expanse that was now behind them were flying between these buildings. Amaterasu could now see that they were humans with large feathered wings with a golden ring above their head and emitting a glow, greatly reminiscent of the divine aura that a Kami displayed.
She heard Oki, Urist and Fiara setting their feet onto the cloud behind her, and turned her head slightly to see how they too admired the splendor of this place. They just stayed for a while. None dared break the silence, as if it could shatter the magic of it. They heard the laughter of the angels but it was a sound so pure, so melodic, that it seamlessly fit into the scene.
"These buildin's... they're perfect..." murmured Urist. "Ah've never seen such... marvels... o' architecture an' craftsmanship..."
"Not just the buildings", Fiara now spoke up, encouraged by the dwarf's words. "These flying spirits, they're so pure. So free of darkness."
"The very air we breathe seems to be filled with energy", said Oki. "I can feel the weariness of this journey falling off my limbs like dirt that is washed off."
"Without a doubt this must be the realm of the gods", Amaterasu spoke last. "A realm of perfection, of light and purity... come. I feel like we are but starting to explore the marvels of this place." She pointed forward. What they had first thought to be a sun, solely existing to light up this realm, was in fact a resplendent golden city built on gigantic clouds. A city of such magnificient proportions that Amaterasu caught herself wondering whether it was larger than her palace in Tamagahara.
Fiara jumped and was carried far higher than any time before, before descending slowly again as if she had wings. She laughed with happiness and so did the others as they mimicked her and tested the limitations of this area. Like children on a trampoline they toyed for a while, even the otherwise stoic Urist and the self-restrained Oki. First they just jumped up and down on the cloud that they had arrived on, then they began to hop forwards, never afraid of falling to whatever was lying below. To their eyes they were gracious dancers hopping from one cloud to the next, slowly but surely inching their way to the golden city of Valhalla where they had been heading to all along.
The occasional angel accompaigned them for a few jumps, though none spoke a word, they just laughed with those pure voices who rung like the chime of a bell. Whether they were amused by the exuberant behavior of these strangers or simply expressing their good mood, none of them cared. They were far too immersed in their own happy little worlds for negative thoughts to find their way into their minds. Urist tired not with pointing out marvels of architecture and art that flew by as they jumped forward. Were they the dwellings of angels or pure constructs built for the sake of beauty? And what of the enorous pillars, were they too pieces of artwork or had they some function? On the other side Oki pointed the dwarf to the rare sight of nipponese buildings constructed among the various other architectural styles, buildings that he recognized. Others seemed so beyond this world that neither of them could comment on it, for no words they knew would do these things justice. And these marvels only increased in magnitude once they traversed the gates into Valhalla itself, and from there to the resplendent hall in the city.
Amaterasu landed and though she was still beyond joyous, the giddiness, the euphoria and childlike amazement slowly dissipated as more serious thoughts took her mind. As the others jumped much like astronauts on the moon, as someone from a more modern era would comment, she walked through the corridors, and here once more her feet left behind a trail of plants and grass that dissipated as quickly as it appeared. The cold of the Frozen Fields was no longer suppressing her, quite the opposite - here she felt at the height of her power. The certainty that everything was how it was meant to be solidified with every dignified step she took towards the hall.
Urist, Fiara and Oki calmed themselves enough to walk instead of jumping once they entered the hall, as without words spoken between them they could feel that a little more seriosity was appropriate now. Forming a diamond shape at whose tip walked Amaterasu, they approached the throne.

Once out of the Vasty Deep gate, Essent posed heroically. Her eyes gazed back and forth, glancing through the white, seemingly endless void. She clapped her hands and breathed in deeply. She exhaled slowly, a smile still on her face from before. Now for a mode of transport. How about that red card with black stripes like before? Yeah, that ought to do it! She began to focus... A nice four-door car... Not a van, but a car. Nice horsepower, a sunroof, decorated with a red paint splatter pattern on the seats and steering wheel, a nice keychain of a pixellated heart hanging from the rear-view mirror. A Niko (from OneShot) bobble-head on the dashboard, a bumpersticker on the rear saying "My ride is Essent-tial". She likes making that pun of her name.
After a few minutes, she managed to summon said described car! She clapped her hands and, within them, her keys! She got into the ride and began to make her way towards the center of the Nexus, where the Fountain was. She put on the radio "On Little Cat Feet" from the OneShot OST. For some reason, this makes her feel more calm about this adventure. At least it helps her focus!
"Well, Essent," she began to speak to herself. "Now is the time to get to know others! A brand new life is ahead of you and you can't go it alone! Sure, you have Ethan but, like he said, you can't just cling onto him like a lifeline. You gotta have a broad support circle. Just one person won't get you anywhere. You gotta have multiple opinions; multiple guides. Well, I have myself as my own guide but that's not the point. You gotta have a social life! You can't just sit in your room all day on a computer tired out of your mind and have no social life!"
Wait, is that a jab a me?
Anyway...
"Essent, you gotta get through this determined. Courageous. Awesome! Funny! Those traits make up you, Essent! Plus, you survived the greatest threat on Earth! Isn't that awesome?! Well, you shouldn't get too hyped because you aren't God. But the point still stands! You are an amazing girl and the world should get to know who you are! Assuming you'll make more friends than enemies."
She talked to herself the whole way to the center of the Nexus, all the while driving and keeping her eyes forward. Most of her words were self encouragement. Sure, she may have her faults, but she's human! Humans make mistakes!

Jacob was out of his hair for the time being and his wounds were slowly stitching themselves together. Now was the perfect time to try and dig into the new memories, sort through the trash and the treasures. He only hoped that the simple civilians had any useful information at all, or else consuming them would have been for naught. He felt no sustenance from them…
He had long since forgotten about sleep. His body no longer needed it and even when he dared attempted such a thing, his dreams were naught but nightmares of all those he had ever consumed. Their voices were muted since coming here. He only heard screams and crying, but the individual voices, jeering him by name, had faded – much like the memory leading up to his, for lack of a better word, obduction into this strange world.
The Prototype allowed his eyes to close and listened to his heartbeat. It was not something he desired, but it was something he needed, for once: to sleep. It was less restful and more a search of the subconsciousness he had collected, walking through the minds of the consumed entities now within him.
It was like grabbing a live wire each time he found something he wanted to know. Glimpses of memories forced to the forefront of his mind, causing him to writhe both in this realm of subconsciousness and his body in the real world. He saw everything through a veil, and things seemed to flow with an element of random.
“Daddy, I want to be a Prime when I grow up!” Says the spawn of Badrun. Mercer can see, through Badrun’s memory, the way the little girl’s face should have been. He could also see, from his own memory, the bloodied stump of a neck and flattened skull laying beside her from his own.
“I’m afraid you can’t dear, you have to be born a Prime!” Badrun explained with a soft voice. He could see, through his daughter’s memories, Badrun’s strong jaw and neck, the way his eyes had a vibrant life to them. He could also see the tendrils ripping at his flesh, tearing him apart cell by cell and mutating each one into pure biomass.
The young boy appeared, as if walking into a room his subconscious had only just invented. There was another overlaid layer of gore upon the boy’s pristine features. “That’s stupid… Anyone should be able to be a Prime, its not fair if we can’t be Primes too…”
Suddenly the scene shifted to the family gathered on the couch. Jacob was there – but he did not have the same substance the others did. Jacob was a memory of a memory, mourning with his family of their loss.
Control was being pulled from the Prototype. He was slipping deeper, drifting from deep meditation to sleep, where memories turn to nightmares. Silhouettes filled in, weaving a wall of faceless, wailing people. Minds decayed by time spent scrambled in Mercer’s head. Even the Prototype’s original memories, the memories of Mercer, stood there amidst the sea of outlines.
Alex Mercer stood there, staring the sentient virus down across the blank canvas of their combined subconscious. The mind of the Blacklight virus, stolen and compiled from so many consumed, and the original host’s consciousness, fragmented from death and pieced together only in part by the Prototype’s life after his apparent reincarnation as Codename Zeus.
Alex Mercer felt ashamed… In life he was a spiteful, arrogant, borderline sociopathic bastard, but he was not this horrid. “You took my life away… I CREATED you to HELP, and you KILLED hundreds – THOUSANDS of people.”
Zeus felt confused. It could hear the screams of so many, and the turmoil it had caused, but all it knew how to do was survive. It did not need comfort, it just needed a food source and information. It had taken the body of its creator, created in the fresh corpse a living cancer, a carbon copy with nothing but improvements. “But we are alive…”
“Are you?”
“I … I think….”
“I think, therefore I am… but you don’t think. You have others do it for you. Even your mind was once mine.” Alex stepped forward, laying a hand on the mangled skull of Badrun’s little girl. “I wanted to cure cancer… not become it.”
The virus-mind felt that blur wash over the crowd. There were so many forgotten faces; lingering images of things like ghosts of emotion. It was an oxymoron, a reminder of what he had forgotten. Mercer’s hand rose, and upon it sat a crow. It had been there the whole time, and yet the subconscious only just now manifested it.
Its eyes were so dark, so hungry. It looked at the virus as it would have looked at anyone else: as food. It had the same eyes the Virus had. Suddenly, the world was seen in shades of gray and the virus was looking at Alex from its perch upon the host’s arm. It tried to speak, but only squawked.
No longer did Mercer walk through memories. He dreamt. He just another facet of the greater subconscious, lost in the tides of the lament of so many. He squawked as Alex vanished and a sea of blank faces closed in. Their rigidity was lost and so many forms splash together like tidal waves, surrounding the crow in a whirlpool of anger, fear and woe.
Nothing of the memories physically touched the crow, and it could not understand so many minds at once all it knew was the pain of trying. Glimpses of something, of nothing, of everything pry into the forefront of the bird’s brain but nothing was its own. The only crisp and clear thoughts he could see was that of Alex Mercer, the true Alex Mercer, standing within the torrent.

So my question is about Reality Manipulation, Data Materialization, and many other similar abilities.
The question is, would they work on the Omniverse?
For you see, they may be somewhat overpowered but I am not sure if they would be denied instantly.

I did not put this in the QQ because there's multiple and it might be a bit more of a debate unless an official ruling is made, but I searched and found nothing on any of the following questions.
- There are two bonuses; 500OM and the Rest Bonus, but the following sentence says "this is" referring to a singular vinacular... Is this referring to the "bonus" as a lump of both, or is the latter (the rest bonus) what is only given once? Rephrase in case that was confusing; do you gain Rest once, but 500 OM per Recognition?
- Are the "special verses" IE Nexus, Dataverse and Astral verse in particular, capable of acruing Recognition?
- Would Recognition in one Verse have any adverse effects in regards to opposing locations (Faction bases, in particular the Empire and Kingdom Verses) or would this simply be fodder?

Death had no hold over this realm.
Legends never died, denied the immortality of memory as they lived life eternal, damned to fight and kill until there was nothing left but immortal demi-gods bleeding each other dry atop the dead and dying. It was a mockery of entropy, Omni’s whims elevating mere mortals above the muck all men were fated to be born in, to live in, to die in.
It was a situation that much of the Omniverse was comfortable with; Immortality, infinite power, the wisdom of a thousand worlds to reap. Unfortunately for its inhabitants, there was one who felt differently.
Cursed, corrupted claws tore through the fabric of reality, divine flesh and bone warped and twisted towards a darker purpose. Ancient armour followed, verdigris and signs of violence adorning its surface in place of battle honours and purity seals. A horn crested the widening gap in realspace, followed by a crimson eye, its baleful gaze looking upon the blank slate of the Nexus, and finding it wanting. Pauldrons were pulled forward next, decorated with the sigils of his plague-riddled patron, and the heraldry of his undying, unliving legion.
He rose, resplendent in rot and ruin, from the nothingness, the tainted titan standing tall as the gangrenous grey matter within his malformed skull did its work.
He had saved Camelot from Nebula’s tender mercies, and fulfilled his obligations towards Hiro, satisfied his lust for battle, and spread his glory throughout another ‘verse.
He balled his bare hand into a fist, twisted talons digging into the leathery flesh of his palm, beads of translucent vitae welling up from within.
It wasn’t enough. He had done little but uphold the status quo, prevented one more faction from enacting their mad whims over the Omniverse at large. The infinite wheels lying under the skein of reality still turned, the maddened clockwork of the omniverse still ticking, an eternal dance of fates and follies doomed to torment man ‘til The Smiling One’s grin fell.
The time had come to stop dancing to his tune. He had drifted from battlefield to battlefield, shedding his blood in the name of others, rather than himself, or his God.
The blessed binaric spirit of his armour crawled across his vision, whispering warped words into his ears.
Nealaphh had found a way out. The tale was scribed across the dataverse, speculation reigning supreme; the Lord of The Institute had freed himself from the Underverse, made his way to the void, and never returned. Whether he had been annihilated by Omni for his arrogance or had broken free was unclear.
But it changed little. Tearen or Nealpahh, they had freed him from restrictions, cast of the veils and at last acknowledged his abilities. Free reign to spread his faith, to destabilize the tentative balance of power.
He smiled, beneath his rust-coated helmet. The time had come at last.
He extended a claw, its tainted tip slowly shredding through reality, a rift blossoming before him, luminescent lights and shimmering stars staring back at him from the Astral Realm. He stepped forward, black corruption left behind him with every step, as his very presence ate away at the world of dreams.

CHARACTER NAME:
Rob Boss
CHARACTER SOURCE:
Adaptation of Bob Ross
CHARACTER HISTORY:
A famed painter from another world, lost to the one unavoidable consequence of existing in that reality: death. He was one of the greatest of all artists for both his skill with a brush and pure, sagelike wisdom.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
A jovial looking fellow with a woolen head of hair of bright chestnut and a face covered in the same, though greyed out in many areas. He is always seen wearing a collared blue dress shirt buttoned up to his chest and a belted pair of jeans.
STATS:
ATK:1
DEF:3
SPD:1
TEC:5
STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Ranged Materialize Proficiency-600 OM
Area Defense Proficiency-400 OM
Defuff Proficiency-1000 OM
Ranged Attack Proficiency-1000 OM
Homing Proficiency-1000 OM
STARTING POWERS:
STARTING MOVES:
Blank Canvas(requires Ranged Materialize Proficiency)-300 OM
Rob can create pictures that quite literally come straight off the canvas. The world of imagination in his mind becomes material but it takes time to make these pieces and until he becomes more powerful the objects he creates can only be so large and can only last so long due to not being made of the material that shapes this world(I'm unsure how long and large would be appropriate, But I'd say it should have some relation in that however powerful he is changes the baseline of his creations and say, for example: every extra half a meter takes off 10 minutes of time and shaving off half a meter adding 10 minutes. the base would be about one spherical meter in diameter for 30 minutes.) without refining his artistry for a certain kind of painting (specific move creation) this can only be used to create objects that do not have any moving parts that work or other effects as they are inert but lifelike and physical embodiments of a picture. It takes Rob half an hour to create one simple picture that functions as such and they disappear after being used.
Landscape-Tier 1 Supermove-(requires Area Defense Proficiency, Ranged Materialize Proficiency, and Debuff Proficiency)-600 OM
Rob can create a Blank Canvas whose entire landscape becomes a manifested reality, He and anyone within the area it encompasses are transported into this painting, leaving behind the piece of canvas as an entry point which brings all those who touch it into the piece. The space the piece contains is a 50 meter diameter in a dome wherein people can move around, outiside of which is pictured but anyone inside will instinctually understand the boundary exists there and walking out of it will return you in the general area of where that is in the normal omniverse, or if you choose, exactly where you were (at an immediately safe part of that area obviously, not within walls or just above a lava pit or something). The space within, unlike a normal Blank Canvas, can works just in the same way as the omniverse, any animals pictured exist, the rivers flow, and the fires burn. Rob has control over only objects he directly touches with his trusty paintbrush, however he can also paint inanimate obstacles with his brush as well while inside, though(he must physically paint it).
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
