Return to the Nexus - Essent Rose Allison - 12-12-2017
Once out of the Vasty Deep gate, Essent posed heroically. Her eyes gazed back and forth, glancing through the white, seemingly endless void. She clapped her hands and breathed in deeply. She exhaled slowly, a smile still on her face from before. Now for a mode of transport. How about that red card with black stripes like before? Yeah, that ought to do it! She began to focus... A nice four-door car... Not a van, but a car. Nice horsepower, a sunroof, decorated with a red paint splatter pattern on the seats and steering wheel, a nice keychain of a pixellated heart hanging from the rear-view mirror. A Niko (from OneShot) bobble-head on the dashboard, a bumpersticker on the rear saying "My ride is Essent-tial". She likes making that pun of her name.
After a few minutes, she managed to summon said described car! She clapped her hands and, within them, her keys! She got into the ride and began to make her way towards the center of the Nexus, where the Fountain was. She put on the radio "On Little Cat Feet" from the OneShot OST. For some reason, this makes her feel more calm about this adventure. At least it helps her focus!
"Well, Essent," she began to speak to herself. "Now is the time to get to know others! A brand new life is ahead of you and you can't go it alone! Sure, you have Ethan but, like he said, you can't just cling onto him like a lifeline. You gotta have a broad support circle. Just one person won't get you anywhere. You gotta have multiple opinions; multiple guides. Well, I have myself as my own guide but that's not the point. You gotta have a social life! You can't just sit in your room all day on a computer tired out of your mind and have no social life!"
Wait, is that a jab a me?
Anyway...
"Essent, you gotta get through this determined. Courageous. Awesome! Funny! Those traits make up you, Essent! Plus, you survived the greatest threat on Earth! Isn't that awesome?! Well, you shouldn't get too hyped because you aren't God. But the point still stands! You are an amazing girl and the world should get to know who you are! Assuming you'll make more friends than enemies."
She talked to herself the whole way to the center of the Nexus, all the while driving and keeping her eyes forward. Most of her words were self encouragement. Sure, she may have her faults, but she's human! Humans make mistakes!

The emperor was doing what he normally did on a night when little kitten wasn’t around; talk to himself, apparently cry and wait for the forces of chaos to slowly chip away at his soul until he was nothing but an empty husk. Oh well, at least he had his Paradox-Billiards-Vostroyan-Roulette-Fourth-Dimensional-Hypercube-Chess-Strip Poker with Tzeench later so he could look forward to that. He felt a piece of his soul break off and drift into nothingness, he didn’t know which part of him it was but it was almost certainly important.
The soul fragment drifted through the immaterium, as it gained consciousness it battled countless daemons until it came across the realm of the gods. It chose the realm of Nurlge to enter as the shard had seen what the god had done to throne emperor, but it had also seen what will happen to itself soon enough. It entered the plague gardens and was instantly attacked by thousands of plaguebearers, pox walkers and nurglings, each attempting to corrupt and sicken the shard as it walked towards Nurgle's castle. Mortarion himself arrived to strike down the emperor but his scythe was no match for the shard’s sword and armour. Mortarion had ran away from it as soon as he saw what had happened and commanded the daemons to come back with him to gain reinforcements and wipe out the shard in a rush, but it would be too late. Nurgle was torn away from his cauldron for once, gargantuan hands holding vials of posion. The shard gazed into the future, his time had come. It rushed the god of decay and as a vial was about to hit its blessed armour, a flash of white appeared and the shard was gone. The vial hit the ground and broke, delaying Nurgle’s perfect disease for maybe even a second more. The shard, now on a throne, saw a giant white humanoid figure in front of them. It told the shard about what they were and giving it a large, shimmering ball. The shard appeared by a fountain in the shape of the golden palace. The shard decided that it was the new throne emperor as it was the first to arrive in this realm. The text to speech device turned on;
“Well fiddlefucks, time to see if everything is as shit as I predicted.“
The emperor turned around and saw a woman in a lab coat with brown gloves. She was in a car but had stopped to stare at the emperor. He still didn’t know much about what this place was, only what he had seen of it. The emperor attempted to get her attention.
“Hello lady, I am the emperor of mankind and would kindly like to know where the everloving fuck I am right now.“

Indeed, Essent's mouth was agape but she closed it after thinking. She's seen a lot and seeing this type of guy isn't really new to her. The name of this man, Emperor of Mankind, kinda put her off. She doesn't want to deal with another Sun Wu Kong right now. Then she remembered the whole multiverse thing. And the whole weak-when-you-arrive thing. Also, having been called lady instead of miss? That was a bad start to a first impression.
"You must be new here. Welcome to the Omniverse."
Essent's eyes looked up and down at the man, examining him. Strange figure. But she's seen strange before. Aliens and stuff. Strange Fist powers. Time travel fist powers. Etc. Yeah, all known science laws were broken when Fist Powers were introduced centuries ago. She was born a Fist User and will continue being a Fist User. Especially after she achieved True Fist and became her own persona.
Anyway, back to the current situation.
"Name's Essent. I've been here for a... Week now? But I know enough to help!"
She smiled. The other might have started with a bad first impression but Essent wanted to retain her good one.

The emperor ‘stared’ at Essent, attempting to psychically breach into her mind and find out what he wanted to know. Unfortunately, his immense psychic power had been cut off from him. The potential was still there, it was just impossible for the emperor to do any of the normal psychic feats he would be able to do. He shifted his attention back at Essent, who had lost the surprised look on her face but was still looking at him;
“I’m sorry but losing the ability to psychically punch multiple gods at once is pretty fucking disorientating.”
Essent continued looking at the emperor blankly, that was a good sign;
“Well you haven’t started attacking or praying to me so that’s a good sign. I’d like to know as much as possible about this realm and, on a different note if you’ve seen any space marines, custodies or primarchs?”

Essent raised an eyebrow before answering.
"I don't know of these three things you listed, unfortunately. I've been in my lab for the whole of my week here until now. But yeah, the Omniverse! Apparently everyone here is made up of this substance known as Omnilium. With it, you can make or do anything by just focusing! Within limits, of course. Buildings, people, powers, you name it! It's how I got my car here! And my lab... And my friend... And my other outfits... The list goes on."
She shrugged.
Across this place known as the Nexus are the various gates. Each leads to a different place. One can lead to a frozen wasteland while another can lead to a tropical beach! I haven't seen the rest of the gates and their worlds but I like the beach one. That's where my lab is."
Essent formed a smile on her face, content. But she returned her focus to the Emperor.
"I still have so much to study and do! It's amazing here! Even if I start off almost stripped of my powers but, well, I can always get them back. I just gotta do stuff!"

The emperor stopped for a moment and thought.
“Well that explains my next question of why I can’t access most of my powers.”
He cycled through everything he could do and eventually found the one remaining power he had access to, summing a bucket.
“Well shit, I can only summon a bucket of water. At this point it seems like omni decided to fuck around with me in the worst way possible, abducting me while I’m fighting a god then stripping me of all my powers except for summoning a bucket. And to somehow make matters worse, he’s thrown me off my normally good mood for someone who is being constantly tutored. Anyway, if you haven’t been in all of the different areas I may still find my children in one that you haven’t been in. Who are you exactly? Tell me about yourself to pass the time while I try to summon something out of this Omnilium.”
The emperor stared at the ground, attempting to summon something simple like a flat sheet of gold or a smaller version of his normal sword.

The Emperor stared at Essent, she had stopped moving as if she was thinking of what to say. He waited for a few minutes, she remained in her frozen form. This would be considered normal behaviour to him if she had known who he was. He slowly moved over to Essent, as he stopped he sent a bucket flying right in front of her face to no reaction. He nudged her side with the corner of his throne, it moved her a bit but she showed no sign of knowing what was happening. Not wanting to be left with someone dead to the world, the Emperor looked around and spotted a group of people talking to each other in the distance. He stopped summoning the gold sheet and started working on a simple note. When it was done he left it in front of Essent.
You froze as I asked you a question. I do not know why but I have decided to move to another group not too far off. If you leave soon enough you may even catch up.

A few minutes after the departure, Essent suddenly snapped back into reality.
"Brooooo you would NOT believe what I just saw! It was just vision thing of a blue screen of death for some odd reason- Oh."
"Gone already? Guess that's my fault. Oh well!"
With that, Essent got back into the care and went ahead to the... Yeah, where should she go? Should she stay here to greet other newcomers? Nah. She'll have esier conversations with more experienced Primes. And with that she pointed her finger out in a random direction and started to move it side to side, only stopping at another random spot. That will be the direction she will be going. And with that out of the way she heads towards the gate in that direction with her car....
Southeast... To the Pale Moors.
This time on the radio was the freaking Undertale soundtrack. Specifically? Bonetrousle. She let out her best Papyrus impression with a "Nyeh heh heh!" just as the song came on.
Shame she had to have a blue screen of death vision back there. She might've had a companion. Oh well. If she isn't of help this time, she might be later. Plus, he can go onto greater pastures. She isn't really the best person to get questions from. A week's worth of information isn't much compared to a month or a year. But it's better than a day's worth of information.
She began to think to herself again. Who will she encounter in this new verse? What threats will be there? Will she come across someone she recognizes? If so, how will she react? Hopefully she'll react like she doesn't know him or her or them? She knows she'll create a horrible first impression if she straight out implies or says that she knows the person from a video game or comic. Or TV show. Or any other form of fictional medium. Yeah, that would be a bad thing. A lot of bad vibes and existential crises would be in bound. She remembers what Tearan said.
After that bunch of thoughts and twelve minutes later, she arrived at the gate. She slowed down the car, got out, and unsummoned it. The omnilium used to make it was then brought back into herself.
With everything back to where they belong, Essent went through the Pale Moors gate, out of the Nexus.
