4th Prime - Ainz Ooal Gown
Posted by: Ainz Ooal Gown - 02-12-2018, 10:29 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (4)

Character name: Ainz Ooal Gown ("Ainz" for short)

Character source: Overlord (Light Novel/Anime)
(The anime follows the LN about to the letter, so I'm counting them as the same universe. If I'm only allowed to "choose" one, I pick the LN)

Character history: Ainz Ooal Gown was originally the name of a player guild in the DMMORPG "Yggdrasil", led by a player whose pseudonym was Momonga. A very successful medieval fantasy game offering lots of freedom, it attracted a great number of players over its 12-year lifetime. On its last day Momonga sat alone in the guild hall, awaiting the server shutdown. Instead of being booted out of the game however he found himself still there, with many things changed. Somehow the game had turned reality, and he was now his player character, an elder lich mage. With careful steps he began to explore the world he had landed in, a medieval land inhabited by magic-wielding humans and non-human beings, and soon found out that his character was beyond OP in this world.
Tier 3 spells were the upper limit of what a regular mage could attain. Tier 4 and beyond was super-human, and Tier 7 was the realm of the gods. Momonga could cast up to Tier 10. Even so he could not know if other players as powerful as him existed in this world, especially his guildmates. Thus he set out under the disguise of Momon the adventurer knight to find out more about the world and, in his 'real' form, took on the identity of Ainz Ooal Gown and aimed to spread the name far and wide in hopes that other former players would perhaps hear of him and come seek him out.
Things took a brief turn for the worse when one of Ainz's subordinates, an "NPC" of the guild left behind by one of his guildmates, got into a clash with a special unit from one of the countries surrounding his position. Through a potent spell she fell under the country's mind control, which led to a brutal engagement in which Ainz displayed the full extent of his combat skills, strategy and cunning. He slew and subsequently revived her, though at a great cost to the finite reserves of his treasury.

Little time after that, when Ainz used a portal magic for quick travel he found himself not arriving where he had set his destination, but in a black void, with a featureless white being before him.

(For Insiders: He was snatched up shortly after the end of Season 1)

Stats (Momon):

DEF: 3 (4)

TEC: 5 (1)

Starting Proficiencies: (1000)
Physical Strength (1000)

Starting Powers: (0)

Starting Moves: (900)

Negative Touch: (300, requires Physical Strength):
Negative Touch requires Ainz to make physical contact with his hands and his opponent's body or clothing/armor. It is a passive ability that can be toggled off, but is typically kept on by default. Upon touching them his unholy undead energies seep into the other person, inflicting pain comparable to being burnt by a hot iron, except that there's no actual heat involved. This pain rapidly disappears once the physical contact stops. Though painful, this move inflicts no damage.
If Ainz's stamina was counted as 100 points, Negative Touch would consume ~1 point per second of contact. At 0 he would need to at least take a few moments to catch his breath before being able to engage in combat again.

Twin Dark Warrior Longswords (600, requires Physical Strength):
Image: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/over...0516080908

Typically wielded in his "Momon" Dark Warrior form, Ainz is capable of dual-wielding these longswords. Despite being fairly big (each sword is 1,50m long from end to end) they are fairly light, weighing in at only 2kg each, and thus can be wielded without throwing the user off-balance with every attack. On the other hand this means that they don't pack the raw force of a heavy weapon either.
While the swords's main method of attacking are slashes and stabs, a somewhat overlooked part is that their half-circle-shaped tips can be used as hooks in combat, to catch an opponent's weapon or to hook it into their clothing or armor (or, more brutally, into their flesh) and tug them around or throw them off balance, though an opponent can pull back against it unless they get surprised by the attack.

If Ainz's stamina was counted as 100 points, each swing would take 5-10 points to perform. At 0 he would need to at least take a few moments to catch his breath before being able to engage in combat again.

I think it was RPGFix? I don't quite remember.

Yes, hi, this is Ammy slash Undyne slash Malon :derp: This is to be my 4th character.

I have donated to lower the level requirement from 6 to 5. (Unfortunately only Omni can confirm this as I've PMed him about this donation). Also, I reserved Ainz, you can take his name off the list in the Donations OP :awesome:

As for the 80k total OM: As of when I am writing this, Amaterasu has 43,344.38, Malon has 18,131.49, Undyne has 22,797.25 for a grand total of 84,273.12.

  Second Character Suggestions

So, I'm shelving Ms. Marvel. I feel I need a more whacky fun character as a second. Someone who's not so serious that I have to be a perfectionist over and can get into short crazy stories all over the place. bbbbbuuuuuuutttttt someone who's not a joke character....

So far I am thinking The Joker. Any other suggestions?

  Third Prime: Drake Oneir
Posted by: Tearen Wover - 02-11-2018, 10:30 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (13)

CHARACTER NAME:

Drake Oneir

CHARACTER SOURCE:

Original - Current Omniverse Secondary

CHARACTER HISTORY:

Drake Oneir began his career as a test pilot for a corporation in his home Multiverse, dabbling in various chemical stims and cybernetic augmentations to improve his competitive edge in operating the galaxy's most potent and volatile vehicles. He eventually became so burned out on stims that he was fired, forced into exile on a backwater planet working as an EMT. It was there that he fell into the criminal underworld, specializing as a daredevil smuggler who could out-fly anything the authorities threw at him. Drake also began to branch out into the hacking and weapons trafficking scene, where he gained his more nuanced technical skills, and it was also during this time that he lost his legs and right arm. By the time he was summoned into the Omniverse, Mr. Oneir was quite the entrepreneur.

Of course, Drake had not been summoned by Omni. He had been summoned by the Prime known as Nealaphh, who had basically been the boss of his boss back during his company days. Nealaphh put Drake to work as an agent and spy, doing many dangerous and probably unwise things on behalf of the Enigma. Of course, when Drake heard that Nealaphh had been banished after its assault on Death Mountain, the enterprising young man fucked off to Coruscant's midriff district and began to ply his trade.

Granted, the Omniverse was somehow even more dangerous than his previous universe, so he had been laying pretty low ans trying to stay off any of the big radars. Last thing he knew he had been introducing a young Prime named Pyrrha to some of his employees when he got accidentally choked to death drinking organic kombucha and was  sucked into Omni's dark hole.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

[Image: drake_oneir_by_tearen_and_zearen-dc2x6ab.png]

Drake is gaunt, muscly punk that stands about 5'3". The man's face is tall and haunted, with stormy grey eyes that hold a long life of pain and bitterness. He has dark brown skin, a buzz cut fade patterned with circuitry, a goatee, as well as severe burn scars on the right side of his face. Indeed, Drake is horribly scarred down the entire right side of his body, which happened the same time that he lost most of his right arm. It's a long story. He also no longer has either of his legs, though this operation was elective, since removing his biological legs made his tolerance for crushing g-forces much higher. His prosthetics are simple, borderline skeletal, but well-maintained and extremely strong.

People tend not to see them, however, as he is almost always dressed in grey denim jeans, rugged black boots, and a grey tank top. Over this, he wears a light, dark-grey jacket with orange trim. When he's feeling particularly sneaky, he will wear the jacket's hood over a slate-colored newsie cap. Drake also tends to be seen with his black, visually unremarkable satchel-bag worn with the strap across his chest.

STATS:
ATK: 5
DEF: 1
SPD: 1
TEC: 3

STARTING PROFICIENCIES:

Physical Strength 1000, Ranged Proficiency 1000, Area Attack 600, Remote Control 600

STARTING POWERS:

Master Acrobat 400, Basic Super Jumping 300

STARTING MOVES:

Solo Arms Plasma Defender Z500 Series (Requires Ranged Proficiency)  - 300 OM

Drake's personal handgun and standoff weapon of choice. This discreet, semiautomatic energy pistol is small enough to be hidden in a back pocket, but has enough accuracy and firepower to be effective at up a range of 40 meters. Beyond that, the magnetic cohesion of the bright, brass-colored plasma bolts fails and they dissipate almost immediately. Drake can use this move while moving at any speed, though this will naturally hinder his own ability to aim. The plasma bolts travel as fast as normal bullets, and can be fired every half-second.

The Z500 has a battery that can store up to five shots before it requires recharging. Due the compact nature of the weapon, it can only recharge after all shots have been expended, and this process takes five minutes. The plasma is not greatly effective against hardened targets, so Drake prefers to take his time and aim for critical weak points.

Bakahatsu (Requires Physical Strength, Ranged Proficiency, Remote Control, Area Attack) - 600 OM

On the surface, Bakahatsu just looks like a shitty web-order katana, because that is exactly what it is. This astoundingly mediocre blade can cut and parry with passable effectiveness, though Drake is not particularly skilled in its usage. It is pretty shitty, though, so enough direct punishment can shatter the blade.

That's okay though, because Bakahatsu's true threat is the five pounds of C4 rigged into its hilt. By pressing his cybernetic left thumb and fingers in a particular sequence, he can command the sword's hilt to detonate in an immense explosion strong enough to blow out the ass end of your average city bus. Anyone within 10 Meters will get knocked down from the blast, along with suffering heavy injury.

Drake is not immune to his own explosives, nor can he activate them if he somehow loses use of his left hand. The detonation signal is only effective up to 100 meters and takes three seconds to transmit. In addition, detonating Bakahatsu utterly destroys the sword, and Drake needs to summon a new one from scratch before it can be used again.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

...at least six times now.

Where did you find us?

I've always been here, my love.

Drake will be my third Prime. If it really needs saying, yes, Kopaka and Tearen have a combined OM of higher than 40k.

  [Obligatory 3rd Character Feedback]
Posted by: Tearen Wover - 02-11-2018, 11:02 AM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (12)

So against my better judgement, I'm going to try and run a third Prime, since I can't switch Tearen's slot until someone blows up Diablo.

Now, being that I have a penchant for highly ambitious and dark-minded leader characters, I was hoping to review a selection of individuals who are more suited to the role of follower and have a cheerful moral outlook.

Also, I want someone with an emphasis on ranged combat, preferably with guns. It's possible I'm not thinking of someone that I might like, so you can leave additional suggestions on top of my picks. In essence:

- Follower
- Good-aligned
- Cheerful
- Range-focus
-- Guns preferred

1. Shinji Ikari (Neon Genesis Evangelion)

Leaning hard towards Shinji-Kun. His character is fairly complicated while being fundamentally optimistic. Also the idea of having EVA 01 fight Ghidorah tickles me inside.

2. Ellis (Left 4 Dead 2)

Make maself sum zombie-grits! The potential for support roles with Ellis are great, and his southern twang slang reminds me of home.

3. Drake Oneir (OC)

It's about time this squirrely dipshit caught a break. Wouldn't be the first Seckie to get pulled back out and into the OV.

4. Elka (Unsounded)

Pretty great character overall, and I appreciate the fact that she's black (a rarity in the OV :frog: ) No guns, but her spellwork is snappy and aggressive.

That's it for now...

i literally never posted as whis so. lol time to play a character i had a deep passion for in like 2013 and i feel canon wronged in some ways

CHARACTER NAME: Touko Fukawa/Genocider Syo

CHARACTER SOURCE: Dangan Ronpa

CHARACTER HISTORY: We'll give you the tl;dr in case you don't want to read the novel on the wiki.

Child Abuse, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Serial Murders (37 of them), Good Writing, Special School, Apocalypse, Locked In Special School, Murder, (not her this time), Get Out Of School, Rejected From Special Organization For Being A Serial Killer. AKA Before DR:AE and after DR1, as you may have expected.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
[Image: tumblr_p3ylcpdV8C1qgi9kto3_r1_1280.png][Image: tumblr_p3ylcpdV8C1qgi9kto2_r1_1280.png]
Here are the objective best talksprites for explaining what she actually LOOKS like. She's 19, 5'4, 104 lbs.

She also has tally marks cut into her left thigh (正 as a group of 5) of the number of people she has killed. The current number stands at 37.

STATS:
ATK: 3
DEF: 1
SPD: 3
TEC: 3

STARTING PROFICIENCIES: Physical Strength (1000), Ranged Proficiency (1000)

STARTING POWERS: Basic Super Jumping (300), Master Acrobat (400)

STARTING MOVES: Scissors [600 OM, Requires Physical Strength, Ranged Proficiency]

They’re handmade. She carries around… A metric fuckload. In a holster on her right thigh. See above for how they look.

As expected, they’re sharp. And pointy. And stabby. Their function is remarkably similar to knives- the fact they even are scissors is more for style points than functionality, but this is the Omniverse, so that really doesn’t matter.

Their effective range is minimal when thrown normally (yes, she throws them too)- around 25 feet before accuracy suffers, 50 feet max. They’re, as expected, about as fast as a thrown object, such as a dart or throwing knife. When in close quarters combat, she wields one pair in each hand, for maximum hack and slash action. Her reload speed is your typical weapon-draw speed- so pretty fast, given her personal speed.

She can throw both at once, and typically DOES if she’s serious, one after the other- but this leaves her unguarded until she draws more.

I’m really not sure what else to say besides “they are scissors and act as scissors would but especially pointy scissors explicitly for murdering”.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

Where did you find us? i run this town.

CHARACTER NAME:
Viola

CHARACTER SOURCE:
Original

CHARACTER HISTORY:
(Probably gonna tweak this a little bit, and then add a bunch in especially since there's a 700 years time skip. And also cuz it's 5am. She'll still get pulled to the OV at the same point though. Moves should be cool though.)
Viola’s earliest memories were at an orphanage. Her childhood was a struggle. Hiding from the other more rowdy children and having few friends. As time went on, she simply stopped ageing at about 13 years old. No one really noticed for a few year, given that most people didn’t keep track of age and employees didn’t tend to stay long, so it wasn’t until she reached 18 and the warden sent the discharge form to her current ‘guardian’ that it twigged. They discarded it, put her down as 13 again, and her complaints about her age weren’t listened to - she had a quiet voice and was usually outspoken by others.

Except it happened again. In the 5 years, she hadn’t changed. Except for this time, the warden recognising her from before, she was given the choice to leave after passing multiple intelligence tests - they assumed it was a disease stunting her growth. She was given a few offers of work, but she refused it, wanting to leave the place behind, filled with dreams of exploring the world.

...Only to end up back at a different orphanage within a month. When they snatched her off the street, she came willingly - her small frame was even skinnier due to the clutches of starvation. This one was linked with a church, and a small self-established mage’s guild. The shelter was smaller, and run less for the purpose of providing cheap labour once the children grew up, and more out of ‘the kindness of their hearts’. She received a basic magical education due to her affinity, and decades past. She stayed out of obligation for the mage who tutored her, helping him do his research on enchanting. She’d offered blood samples at one point - he’d said something about her being truly ageless, rather than simply stopping growing early. He refused.

He aged, growing old, but still declined her offers, no matter how assertive she was. He had the option to cure his mortality, as she saw it, but he didn’t. Why? She didn’t understand that for centuries. She left when he died, taking his research and vowing to complete it.

Doing so was hard, especially when locked in a child's body. She knew, logically, that if she kept at it eventually someone would notice her condition, with or without her claiming anything. It was only a matter of when, and when it did happen one of two things would occur: either she was given recognition and granted the right to join the mage's guild, or she was locked away for experimental purposes. Or, perhaps, a mixture of the two. She knew many people craved immortality, even if her old friend didn't. Having fractured bones from falling off ladders back at the church library, she didn't exactly feel immortal, just ageless. Seventy years old was a lot in those times, although some did live shortly past one hundred. But, age was one of the greatest killers. At least, age was one of the greatest killers of mages and the rich - the kind of people with the ability or power to experiment.

So, Viola put it off, focusing on her own training and rarely staying in the same place for long. Somewhat reluctantly, she stole some things over time. It started with food, but shifted to money, and then even books. A memento, one of her tutor's last finished projects, had helped her. It was a small bag, yet it could carry anything that could fit through the opening. Her collection started off small, just a single book from each library or so, but it grew over the following decades. She built up a pattern.

Go to a new town, beg for food and money or steal it with her magic - she was getting good at levitating things now. Then, go to the library and see if they had any books she hadn't read, steal one of them if it was useful. Afterwards, she'd leave with enough food to last three days and train by the outskirts. With every year, her prowess grew. Sleeping rough was unforgiving to her body, and there was rarely a time she wasn't covered with bruises. She'd wake up to more dull, aching purple marks with the odd tear stains running down her cheeks. Biting her lip, she persevered. She wasn't an expressive girl, but it didn't take her long to realise that injuries like that made people much more likely to take pity on her. Well, those who didn't shun her after a moment's glance at her 'cursed' or 'demon' eyes.

Sometimes, she'd linger in the town for longer. It was hard to make friends - children her physical age were stupid and adults closer to her mental age treated her like a child. Bottling her longing for companionship away, she continued with her magic practice. Usually, her staying in a town meant either the library was good, or someone had tried to adopt her. Often, she let them but always ran away a few days later - it was worth it at the start for good food and a bed to sleep in, but she'd had enough of being treated like a child. As repetitive as it may seem from the outside looking in, Viola's life was anything but boring. Her situation may have been tough, but she was exploring the world - her old childhood dream. She met all kinds of people and saw all kinds of places.

Hitchhiking a ride on the back of a merchant's cart, she rode to the capital, finally deciding to apply to the central mage's guild. In her hundred years of life, she'd seen the world slowly change. While magic was the elite now, clockwork and steampower were beginning to surface. And, over the following seven hundred years, she'd see a lot more. New discoveries, cival war, combat, politics, and adventure.

Yet, one day, she woke up outside of that everchanging world, pulled into someplace new by a being called 'Omni'. It was thrilling, exciting, but also scary. And thus, her adventures in the Omniverse began.

STARTING MOVES:
Aetherblades (300) Requires: Ranged Proficiency, Ranged Control

Viola can create two floating magical swords appear within 3m of her after 4 seconds of concentration, during which she can move. Creating the swords is not tiring. The swords are translucent violet, have 0.9m long blades, are straight, and have a cross guard like a typical longsword. While they have handles, Viola is not physically strong enough to use them so has to control them with her magic. Usually, Viola can comfortably move the handles at up to 30m/s within 60m of her, but while rotating them to attack or parry she would struggle to move them at 10m/s. The swords can spin very fast while the handle is moving below 10m/s, and if she had the reaction time and skill they would have a good shot at deflecting a bullet if in the right place.

The blades are durable, and very unlikely to break - but, a strong hit to the handle will cause the sword to disperse into the air. Viola can destroy the swords with 2 seconds of stationary concentration per sword. They also disintegrate if Viola falls unconscious, or if they are ever moved more than 60m away from her.

She needs to focus on the swords about as much as a normal fighter would if they were holding them. She can move at full speed, and use other moves at the same time. The swords are generally weak - at least compared to what Viola's magic is capable of - they trade off raw strength for versatility and speed. So, if continuously harassed, the damage will build up. Furthermore, beyond 30m, wounds caused by the swords tend to be weaker, dropping off in strength until they reach 60m away where they can barely replicate a paper cut.

An opponent could technically grab the handle of one or both of the swords and try to use it against her as an incidental weapon, or as an actual weapon if they have mimic. But, Viola would still have control over the weapon, so unless they're considerably stronger than her, she'd likely be able to make their attacks miss, or wrench the sword from their grip if she focuses.

Timekeeper (600) Requires: Time Manipulation, Foresight

Viola can drastically slow down her perception of time, almost enough for everything else to appear at a complete stop. However, while doing so, she still physically moves at the same speed from everyone else's perspective. In other words, if she slowed time down to half speed, from her point of view she (and everything else) would be moving at half speed. There is no theoretical limit to how much she can slow time, it just takes varying amounts of energy, and she can't completely stop it. This can be used with all of Viola's moves or powers and requires no concentration. It's instinctive; she can start using it the moment her foresight warns her of something. While this can't help her dodge a fast-moving attack, or allow her to charge a move faster, when paired with an appropriate move or power it could allow her an opportunity to prepare or avoid damage another way. She may also use this to get a moment of thought in on the battlefield - or to simply calm herself.

The more Viola slows time, the more tiring it is for her. From Viola's perspective, every moment of slowed time feels like a light jog. So, if she slowed time down to half speed for 1 second (from everyone else's perspective) she would feel about as tired as she would be after 2 seconds of jogging. But, if she slowed time down by 1000 times for 1 second (again, from a bystander's POV), at the end she'd feel like she'd been jogging for 1000 seconds. And, typically, jogging for more than a few minutes would leave her out of breath. If Viola is not doing anything during slowed time (i.e. not using a power, attacking, dodging, using a move, etc.) and just thinking, the fatigue cost is a lot lower. As such, she can essentially use this to clear her head at will (note: she can't use this to waive away a mental debuff).

  Character Change: Atelos
Posted by: Atelos - 02-10-2018, 03:25 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (1)

This change will put me at 8635.325 OM

CHARACTER NAME: Atelos

CHARACTER SOURCE: OC

CHARACTER HISTORY:Born and raised by a family of Ancient Sparta. However, his village was known as heretics by the others…His village had mastered the arts of pyromancy and enchanting., Atelos was known as the softy of his village and could never bring himself to harm those around him. By the time he was 8 he had lost every fight during his child sparring sessions and has suffered innumerable amounts of wounds from the people he spends time with every day. He could not bring himself to harm the family that has been so kind to him. In order to make sure Atelos could contribute to their war-like society, his family gave him a spiked glove with a slight enchantment of fire. He had learned to master this weapon and his community did not fear his lack of contribution.

But when he was 17, a neighboring Spartan village had invaded his village and had kidnapped Atelos in order to learn his villages secrets. Yet as he was being taken to their prison he broke free and subdued his captors. He fought for his life, not holding back like he had done for all of those years in training but he finally let out his inner warrior. He finally escaped and ran to his home village in Sparta only to find it in ashes, absolutely quiet and lifeless. Devastated, he shambled back to the pile of ashes and bones that he used to call home. The only remnants was his fathers gleaming, bronze shield with a similar enchantment as his gloves had. In agony Atelos screamed and mourned for his home. Atelos let out his rage letting out a inferno around him.

The last warrior from his once plentiful society, he took his father's shield and his gloves and left his home town permanently, carrying his only piece of home on him. He roamed all of Greece seeking vengeance for what the village had done to his people. He had made it his life's responsibility to seek justice for their actions. He had traveled all across that land until he had returned to the same village that had taken him. He breathed a sigh of relief. His life goal was to be complete…Or so he thought…

The Omni then took him, where limitless possibilities await.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

STATS:
ATK:2
DEF:4
SPD:2
TEC:2

STARTING PROFICIENCIES(3000): Physical Strength (1000), Ranged (1000), Area Defense (400 OM), Homing (600)

STARTING POWERS (3200): Survival (2000), Burst Movement(800)

STARTING MOVES(2400):
Spartan Shield(900 OM, Requires Physical Strength, Ranged, Area Defense, Homing):
A bronze shield with lots of the standard reinforcement. Can easily be used to bash enemy and to block. Slight pyromancy enchantment where in which case flames can be emitted to defend the user versus attack. The flames are variably more passive and serve mainly to defend. The flames can extend to an extra 3 feet in all directions. Additionally, Atelos can toss the shield much like Captain America and it homes onto its target. The shield however does not return and he has to get it himself.

Boiling Blood 300 OM-
Hades has enough control of the Spartan to directly influence his body. When the Spartan is cut, his blood appears as black and sticky as tar would be. However, his blood is boiling hot and steams as it pours out of his wounds. Atelos can take advantage of this and can throw his blood on his opponents to burn them.

Spartan Spear (600 OM, Requires physical strength, ranged and telekenesis)
Atelos brings down his hand and fire begins to collect in his hand. After about two seconds a bronze spear materializes out of the fire and into his hand. The Spear is about seven feet in length and has a sharp tip on both ends. Atelos can use this in melee combat and can also throw the spear as a ranged weapon.

Hades Reinforcement T1 Super Defense (600 OM)

A white mist covers Atelos' shield and Atelos concentrates on reinforcing his shields strength with his flames, he must be completely immobile while taking the damage. Blocking any Tier One Super Move.

Total Spent OM: 8200 OM

January Monthly Accolades (Until February 14th)
Posted by: The Vision - 02-10-2018, 01:39 PM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (9)

...no, YOU forgot to put up the January Accolades. Pfft.

For those of you who are unaware, the Accolades involve nominating (and later, voting for) those who have outdone themselves in a particular area each month. For variety's sake, the categories for each month may be different.

You have until February 14th to nominate your choices. After that, we will proceed to the voting phase where members will vote among the two individuals with the most nominations for each category. An exception to this is if someone manages to get 5+ more nominations than the runner-up, in which case that person becomes the winner by default.

If you wish to participate, think of who stood out the most in a particular category this month and post your choice, along with a 2-3 sentence long explanation, in this thread. You are not barred from nominating your own characters/threads, nor do you have to fill out all the categories.

The winners will become this month's "Community Stars". And what benefits does this bring? Here is an explanation, courtesy of Alex:

(07-26-2016, 11:34 AM)Alex Wrote: As part of being voted as a Community Star/User of the Month (I use the terms interchangeable mainly because Community Star is less formal-sounding than User of the Month), these members gain a color (you must select this in your User CP) and access to the Omni-World R&D forum.  In the past this was my pseudo-private forum, but it's now a place for myself and others to discuss the Omniverse.  This is also the meeting place/brainstorming area for Story Aides and Story Guides, so for all intents and purposes, winning an accolade lets you become a pseudo-Story Aide for the duration of your reign.

Forum access is for the month following a member's selection as a Community Star, and this is irregardless of which 'accolade' you were selected for.

And the categories are:

‘Best’ Character – Which character has you engaged the most?

‘Best’ Writer – Which writer wowed you the most?

Most Helpful – A staffer or a member who gave you amazing feedback on a story or was simply there to help you sort out some of your problems.

Rising Star – Which up-and-coming member stands at the crème of the crop? (must have joined within the last month and a half OR have less than 8000 OM)

'Best' Story – What story did you find most riveting/entertaining? Dark Data is excluded from the running.

'Best' NPC – What non-player character (can be a site, personal, or story NPC) entertained you the most (for whatever reason). Please note who the 'owner' of said NPC is, just in case I am not familiar with them.

Purple Ribbon - Consider this a bonus category for nominating someone who, while they may not be the best and have all the twitter followers, you believe deserves to be recognized for what they bring the the Omniverse. (The winner must be a DIFFERENT person than last month's winner; the December winner was King Ghidorah)
