Joining as The Grey Man
#1
Character name: The Grey Man

Character source: Original Creation, Do Not Steal UwU

Character history: Milky Way, 2486AD. The Cyberwars of the Interstellar Planetary Alliance and NEO TECHNO NEW JERUSALEM are coming to their dark conclusion. All information is tightly controlled by the two great galactic empires' datacops, and the enigmatic figure called The Grey Man is rumored to be a genetic experiment conducted by one of these two shadowy governments. Born into chaos, sold into combat as a child, the Grey Man is a legendary fighter by the standards of his time. In the early days of the Cyberwar, he seemed to be allied with the NTNJ, but during the second half seemed more interested in the interests of the IPA. It was only three weeks ago, when he played his trump card, that everything fell into place for both sides.

A fleet of zip-fighters bombarded Io, the moon over Jupiter. The NTNJ-controlled facility there housed their secret weapon--a magnificent array of antimatter cluster-nukes. The zip-fighters were merely a distraction--The Grey Man is a master of subterfuge, and had already infiltrated the moonbase 30 minutes prior. The ensuing chaos made accessing the normally heavily-guarded control computers seem almost easy. The NTNJ sent in its own fleets to deal with the zip-fighters, but by then it was too late--Grey Corps had seized control of Io's nukes, and wasn't afraid to use them in the defense of his newly-acquired base. A single well-placed missile was even more powerful than JERUSALEM's scientists could have ever imagined. The entire 4447th Fleet was reduced to nothing in a quiet instant.

From Io's moonbase, The Grey Man hailed the rulers of both nations. He revealed that he planned to bombard Jupiter--the seat of the NTNJ--and Earth, where the IPA had made their influence well-known unless a ceasefire was indefinitely called, and both empires submitted to his will and sovereignty.

And it almost worked, by gum.

The Grey Man could almost taste his victory, when suddenly he was spirited away. He was talking with his generals in his newly claimed officers' quarters, and a sudden wave of unknown feeling came over him. It was as if his entire body was collapsing in on itself.

He awoke sometime later, in a far off land, in a distant realm. He has no idea what happened, or what this new world holds... His stoic demeanor and survivors' instincts quickly guided him away from the panic of the early days, however, and now he prepares to make his mark upon this world.

Physical Description: He appears to be in his late 20's or so, perhaps early 30's. Caucasian male. Around 5'10". When not in proper attire for his current mission, he likes to dress in a relaxed, casual style. True to his name, he sports naturally grey hair (shoulder length, and usually slicked back in the front) with grey eyes to match.

Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 3

Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength, Ranged, Debuff (3000)

Starting Powers: None

Starting Moves:

The Operator: Standard .45 semi-automatic pistol equipped with silencer. Fires at a rate of once per second. Mag capacity 17+1. (300)
Combat Knife: This knife has a compass in the bottom, in addition to its typical knifely functions. The fixed, straight blade is about 8.5 inches long. (300)
Tranquilizer Carbine: Scoped. 3x9. Minimum effective range of at least 20yds. Maximum effective range of around 200yds. Subdues opponents through a nonlethal means. Resembles a paratrooper style SKS with black furniture. Deals damage as a regular weapon; however, "killing" somebody with this merely results in the character being knocked unconscious for up to 1 hour instead of dying normally. Mag capacity 5+1 darts. (300)

Super Moves:

Martian Martial Takedown: Grey Man closes in on target--preferably from behind, but this move can be done from any orientation--and delivers a brutal martial arts combo/takedown, followed through by a particularly debilitating physical blow which, if the move succeeds, hobbles the opponent, reducing their SPD by 1 for three minutes. (600)

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

Greetings! In case you haven't done so yet, please read the 'HOW TO JOIN!' topic. Copy the joining form there and fill in the relevant information.

Your moves need a bit more detail. The descriptions don't need to be super lengthy or anything, since the moves are quite self-explanatory for the most part, but at least the basic characteristics (i.e. the length and shape of the knife, the rate of fire of the rifle etc.) would be good to know. Also, being able to tranquillise someone requires the Debuff proficiency. And since you can't just knock someone out stone cold with a single shot in the Omniverse, you'll also need to describe the effect and duration of the impairing effect.

Tier 1 Super Moves cost 600. Also, is this move a 'takedown' in the one hit K.O: sense or is it essentially just a series of physical attacks? Lastly, does the last blow leave an actual debilitating effect? If so, as with the Tranquilliser Carbine, you'll need the Debuff proficiency and describe what it does and how long it lasts.

I swapped my transformation (that I couldn't use yet anyway) out for Debuff. They both had the same cost and I can actually benefit from Debuff now.

As for the Carbine, I actually intended for it to deal damage just like a normal gun, only the end result is unconsciousness if the Carbine delivers the final blow of the fight, instead of death. Basically meant as a ranged option for nonlethally subduing opponents, since in spite of his military past Grey Man doesn't just kill at the drop of a hat--even in a place where death seems to mean so little.

I still took Debuff just in case this falls under the purview of that ability, and also used it to augment my Super Move accordingly.

Speaking of said Super Move, the wording is kept vague on purpose due to the multitude of different "Martian Martial Arts" combos, throws, etc. I can cook up in my fevered imagination, but for mechanical purposes I think it should just be interpreted to deal a consistent amount of damage regardless of how I fluff it. Keeps things easier to keep track of while allowing a greater amount of creative freedom for writing melee fight scenes.

How are we looking now?
