Warning! The file may be corrupt. Open anyways?
The familiar rasp of the Dean of Security seeps from the dataverse device, his (Its?) voice dripping with corruption.
"Nealaphh. I have concluded my mission in Camelot. Rebecca seemed to enjoy the festivities, and after I killed some irritating rubber-man, her new... hat. I encountered two warriors of note during my time there: A Weiss Schnee, and a more... eccentric figure who declined to give their name. Schnee. Young woman, military-training. Fights with a rapier than seems to channel some form of-" Several hacking coughs break up the recording at this point. "Magic. Skilled combatant, clever, and with more fire in her than most of the weaklings I've run across. A worthy addition, if they can be convinced."
A rattling intake of breath, the distant noises of the Kingdom going about its business as wooden wheels clatter across cobblestone paths and merchants haggle over minutiae.
"And the Nameless one. Strong of will, and strong of arm. From what I saw, they'd been taking trophies from previous opponents. A salvaged arm, a length of ribbon. From their... display of scars, they established themselves as an experienced warrior, to say nothing of their skill in combat. While I doubt that they would be amendable to joining The Institute on a long-term basis, they could be a powerful, temporary asset, provided we can entice them."
"As for my own performance, I'm afraid it wasn't much more than... adequate. First opponent was Schnee, which was suitably invigorating. Next was the malleable man, who proved suitably vulnerable to gunfire. I was stymied against the final one. After a brief talk on the meaning of life, metaphysics, and the like, she blundgeoned me comatose with a rock, leaving a significant amount of my brain in the arena."
"I got better. Do you have further orders, Lord Nealaphh?"

The apothecary scampered around the pocket dimension that had been reserved to quarantine the pestilent undead and their unfortunate opponent. A gloved hand ran over the treated hood, massaging the shaved head underneath. Things were not going as they had originally intended. While there was little hope of restoring the dead man to whatever half-life he had, there was no intention to. The plagues and malignancies that rested within that tormented corpse were manyfold, each one an insidious threat to the glorious Kingdom. Tinted lenses looked upon the plethora of alchemical paraphernalia that had been gathered at significant expense, their pseudo-magical properties unused.
His gaze fell finally upon the resized bed used to hold the patient. Most notable, aside from its size, was the lack of a patient. The rotting heap of malformed flesh and rusted steel that dared to call itself alive had disappeared shortly after the discharge of their victim. Concealed hands wrung themselves, leather-clad fingers expressing the internal turmoil within the medicine man. To find a cure, or even a treatment to one of those plagues! He would be praised, nay, exalted! His name would echo through the hippocratic halls, be etched into plaques and monoliths from Camelot to Coruscant! He would-
It was at this moment that the air tasted purple, and Okor began his return.
A tear in reality made itself apparent where the titan once laid, rainbow-tinted tendrils of Omnillium slithering from the rent as the gangrenous giant stepped from the portal, cracking the bedding underfoot. The screams of a thousand damned souls, cast adrift in the chaos of the Astral Realm, seeped from his portal, their howls generating a veritable hurricane within the triage, forcing the doctor to his knees as priceless equipment shattered around him, shards of glass whirling through the air. Hands pressed themselves against his ears, attempting to block out the lamentations of the lost as they called out for the living to join them, promising eternal torment and infinite paradise alike.
The necrotic warrior reached out, trailing claws through the eddies of power and madness, relishing in this return to the primordial morass. As always, all things had to come to an end. He allowed the rollicking madness that surrounded him to subside, the terrifying tides of the realm of dreams fading back into their warped home. Silence dominated the pocket dimension, the only sounds being the muted whimpering of the medic, and the rasping breath of the titan.
It took him but a few strides to reach the catatonic chirurgeon, talons dripping with corruption plunging downwards and hefting the terrified man up to the height of his blazing eye, the feverish eye staring past the treated glass of his mask and into the horrified eyes beneath. Fetid breath issued forth from the battered helmet, corrosive emanations burning away at the hooked mask, alchemical protections faltering before the wrath of a pestilent god. Gurgling laughter assaulted the poor man’s eardrums, mirth pervading the voice of the dead man despite all encouragement to the contrary as a rusted gauntlet closed around the throat of the apothecary. ”You tired, didn’t you?” Claws clacked as they panned over the vista of property damage as a breath forced its way into whatever abominable anatomy resided within the monster. ”There’s no stopping it, no cure. They’ve tried, and tried, and… sacrificed.” Peals of warped laughter escaped the marine’s mouth as he dropped the gasping apothecary to the hard floor. Thundering footfalls punctuated the ambulatory abomination’s abscond, each impact of armoured feet splintering the wooden floor. ”You cannot cure a… Blessing.”
Gurgling laughter prevaded the room even after the half-life warrior left the room, the portal rippling and darkening as he returned to the horrific parody of reality. A man would need to be mad to miss the countless miniscule facets of twisted insanity that infused this realm. A man would need to be mad to not burn this nightmare to the ground.
A twisted grin of blackened fangs spread beneath his helmet as he saw the twisting sigil burn itself into his vision, reminiscent of the squad runes, in the era when those still mattered. His infested eye blinked, as he opened a line of communication with an unknowable abomination from beyond time and space.
He was perfectly sane.

Monster and moose stumbled forward through the gate, leaving the endless white behind them. Drawing the mount to a stop, Somerled clutched at his head, vision spinning from the weird spatial-distortion teleportation thing he just had the displeasure of experiencing. This wasn’t a foreign form of travel to him by any means, what with forays into those magics being all too useful for getting from place to place, but it wreaked havoc on his mind all the same. It didn’t feel like a natural form of transportation to him. Take a step forward and suddenly you’re six thousand kilometers away. If that wasn’t a recipe for jet lag to the extreme, then nothing was.
The dizziness refused to let up, in fact, if it was possible, the monster was quite sure that it was getting worse. He cursed the creator of the portal, wondering why they couldn’t just stick with disassembly and reassembly. It’s so much simpler. Make a consciousness somewhere else, kill off original. Voile, no jet lag.
If the unsteady tottering at a standstill was any indication, his mount wasn’t faring much better than he was. Good, the spirit thought, he wasn’t the only one who detested this shit. As luck would have it, not long after he had that thought, he felt as though the beast was beginning to pitch sideways, perhaps succumbing its own wobbliness. In a panicked response, he quickly threw himself to the side, quickly dismounting from the behemoth so his leg wouldn’t be crushed. As Somerled discovered the hard way, it’s a terrible idea to make balance-related decisions while in a warp stupor. The moose hadn’t been falling over in the first place, and he threw himself off it in the clumsiest dismount ever, for what would appear to the average bystander as no reason whatsoever.
Somerled hit the ground heavily, solid surface meeting aggressively with his back and evicting the wind from his lungs. As he lay there, the dizziness likewise forced out of him by that harsh meeting with the ground, he found that the moose was not, in fact, perturbed by that teleportation. On the contrary, if that look it was giving him was anything to go by, it was mocking him. As if to say hey, look at this dumbass being upset by travelling. Which did not sit well with him at all.
“Nice going.” Before he was able to start yelling at everything however, his voice spoke mockingly, not bothering to hide the hint of a laugh.
“Oh shut up,” he groaned, springing back up to his feet quickly. As much as he wanted to just stay there in defeat, now wasn’t the time for laying around. “You can’t feel this shit, hiding in there.”
“You can’t either,” came the retort from his other half.
“Yes, but I have to live with the damage. Now shush.” Somerled commanded his other half to not start speaking, glancing around the immediate vicinity. A path of concrete or asphalt or something ran from the gate off into a direction currently being blocked by his moose. Just his luck, however, the path of solidness was what he landed on, and not the ridiculous amount of sand that resided everywhere else. Other than sand, gate, and path however, there wasn’t really much in the way of scenery, besides whatever the path actually led to. Sure, there was sea beyond the sand, but that was more of a vast expanse of wavy nothing. Last time he checked, water didn’t have notable landmarks.
With his cursory observations of out the way, the spirit turned his head towards the bright blue sky above. The weather was always much more fun to look at than land, it had weird things going on in it. Heat bearing down from the sun suffused through the spirit’s body. “Temperature is a balmy twenty six point six degrees Celsius, relative humidity of eighty one point four percent,” he read the atmosphere, accounting for the sun and humidity when he spoke the temperature. “Atmospheric pressure of...” he trailed off, wracking his brain to try and read this part. Try as he might, however, it was out of his grasp. “Too high for me to read,” he admitted, giving up on it. “It’s in your territory, Sonny. But I can safely say we’re not on the Isle of Man. In fact, it’s downright tropical here.” He kept his head turned upwards, basking in the glow of the sun, waiting for the other two to come through the gate.

| Writing tips? |

I want to make my writing skills better, so if there are any tips you can pass on to me in general, would you mind sharing them? I'll keep a general list of tips below for anyone who wants to improve themselves as well.
1) Avoid overly precise measurements[/b], it interrupts the flow.
2*) Use correct spelling[/b]; if you don't know how to spell a word, try searching for it on Google or asking someone.
3*) Don't capitalize after quotation marks unless you're starting a new sentence.
4*) Use commas in the following situations:
-To preserve the meaning of the sentence, i.e. "While everyone was fighting Billy hatched an escape plan." v.s. "While everyone was fighting, Billy hatched an escape plan."
- When the sentence continues after someone was talking, i.e. "I wish people would just let us have opinions for once," Betty says frankly.
- Before "but" or "and" in a compound sentence, i.e. Teros tried to strike down his opponent, but he was knocked aside at the last moment.
5*) Semicolons can be used instead of commas to connect two otherwise completely seperate sentences into a single, long sentence. If you don't want to risk this, you can simply use periods instead.
6*) Only use an apostrophe in the following situations:
-It is used to shorten words like "it is" into "it's" or "does not" into "doesn't."
-It is only used possessively when the word requires it to be possessive, not plural (i.e. Billys, like multiple Billys, v.s. Billy's, as in Billy's car.)
-It must NOT be used possessively in words like "it's," since "its" is already possessive. Adding the apostrophe makes the word into a transition into a state of being rather than a possessive term.
7*) Make sure you use the proper spelling of a word so you don't mean something completely different, i.e. "sweet" v.s. "sweat."
8*) When you use past, present or future tense, make sure it makes sense and that the sentence doesn't contradict itself. Keep in mind that characters would regard events in present tense, even if the scenes are narrated in past tense. Also, don't change tense in a sentence. Most people don't know how to pull that off.
9*) When a character is doing something, try to go in depth with describing it. Take each individual step of an action and describe it in detail. Using literary terms can help make your writing more interesting and less monotonous.
10*) Show, don't tell. Don't simply tell the reader how a person looks and acts, use their actions to show how they are and let the reader figure it out.
11*) Check out Schoolhouse Rock. The songs are really great, and songs like "Conjunction Junction, What's Your Function" or "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly, Get Your Adverbs Here!" are useful for learning literary terms.
12*) Don't skip the plot. New roleplayers may want to skip to the middle or the end, but remember that the beginning of your adventure is just as important as the rest! Take your time, it will make the experience more interesting.
13*) As for plot, make sure that you try to inform the reader about what is happening as best as possible as well as have a conflict or struggle to revolve around.
14*) When you eventually do get to the end, you need to wrap up everything the story has been built upon by either ending with a cliffhanger, or you can reward the character for the effort they demonstrated throughout their journey.
15*) When developing your character, give them identifiable quirks to solidify their main personality, but DO NOT flanderize them (or boil down their personality to a single trait).
16*) Give your writing a specific style. Some people like comedic, others go the serious route, and still others go with a soap opera tragedy. Try and figure out how you would like to write!
*tips 2-16 come from the following link; if you want more information on these tips, just click here: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2033">viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2033</a><!-- l -->

OK I got a really great idea last night. What if we pit all contestants in a tournament style rpg fight with minor Omni Physics involved. Pokémon and Final fantasy came to mind when making this
Here is an example
Mega Man LV 50 (everyone is LV 50 just for show)
Moves (only 4)
Nail Shield
Surrounds Mega Man in Nails Boosting defense and damaging opponents who use contact moves. Using it again (after one turn) allows one to throw nails at multiple opponents but with mediocre accuracy and you lose the defense boost. 1.5 defense boost (1st turn) 80 Power (second turn). 75% accuracy. Lasts 2 turns.
Mega Ball
Mega Man kicks an exploding ball at the opponent with high accuracy and decent damage. 75 POW 100% Accuracy
Mega Buster
Using the move once launches a solar pellet that does minor damage. If he charges for 1 turn it'll do more damage. PW: 40 (uncharged) PW: 120 (charged)
Crash Bomb
Mega Man launches a bomb that latches on to an opponent and explodes 2 turns later
PW:100
Summons (cost SP of which you have 50)
Eddie (5 SP)
Warps in and gives Mega Man an Energy Pellet that restores 50% of damage done
Flash Man (10 SP)
The reformed Flash Man warps in and freezes time allowing Mega Man to move twice in one turn
Super Moves (cost SP) (All OP moves go here, transformations go here, and if a move is the equivalent of the Pokémon moves Shell Smash, Draco Meteor and the like, Please be safe and put it here)
Super Adaptor(20 SP)
Rush merges with Mega Man doubling all stats and replacing his moves with these (except Summons
Super Buster (1 SP-2 SP)
Mega Man fires a shot that does decent damage. Charging it fires his fist that hit's twice in a row 80 power per hit
( Every move done while transformed costs varying SP cost Transformation costs depend on the OPness of the transformation. Super Saiyan would not cost 10 SP.) The lowest possible cost of a transformation is 10 SP)
Stats (to avoid a headache just multiply your current stats by 10. Not doing this would require approval as to why your stats are how they are)
Attack: 30
Def:20
Tec:30(whether a move hits depends on its own natural accuracy so this is basically your likelihood of hitting an opponent who's boosted his evasion
Spd:20 (Who moves first pretty simple huh?)
So basically it's a work in progress but if your interested reply.
What I need:
A damage equation
An evasiveness equation

A man with white dreadlocks, a walking stick, dressed in wastelander gear. The sand king. One who controlled the wastelands since he was kicked out of Haven city years ago. The man without his son... and still looking.
The sheer whiteness of the area he was standing almost made him wince as he held his walking stick up. He found himself staring at a strange... face... one certainly white and different...
Was he staring at the face of the precursors? No... they looked like ottsels..
Damas had a lot of questions on his mind.... Did fate bring him here instead of the Wastelands?
He took the time to keep walking with the walking stick as he listened to the face speak to him.
Damas couldn't speak during this time, but he felt strange during this time.
Once the white face finished speaking, Damus wanted to ask so many questions, but he'd have to ponder them himself. He carried a identical Seal of Mar like his son that he was missing..
Fate... had other plans so it seemed.
So Damas's new adventure started as the man started out into the Nexus to start the slow trip to what looked like some sort of fountain....

Nothing.
A purely theoretical condition that requires true, unhindered laziness on the part of existence. Humans were never able to imagine true nothingness. Sure, they could be doing nothing, maybe they had nothing in terms of wealth, or perhaps nothing would prevent them from taking some course of action. However, pure nothingness is something no one could imagine, as any attempt to create a void in one's mind would only invite unwelcome thoughts inside, even something as simple as a flash of color. Nothing was well beyond the grasp of human imagination.
Yet here, floating in this empty void, Jams could only describe his location as nowhere. This world was a perfect, unending void. At least, until this boy popped in, it was unending. His red shirt and shorts stayed relatively stiff, although they flowed a bit due to the lack of gravity in this realm. Jams, however, was completely immobilized sans his eyes, which were looking around to inspect this wondrous sight. There was a certain charm to this empty land, mostly out of the fact that he got to experience what no one could possibly think of. Technically, if he looked at it from an artistic sense, this void could be considered to be full of "blackness." Not that it really proved much, but it entertained him nonetheless.
Then, all of a sudden, Jams notices a white being. He promptly assumes this to be the god of his universe, albeit a great deal more luminescent than was expected. Actually, perhaps it was simply the contrast between this godlike creature and the surrounding darkness? Jams immediately puts aside his philosophic thoughts to listen to the figure and his proceeding speech. The being addressed himself as Omni, and states that this is not the world that Jams knows. "Well, I guess that theory's out of the void. I'm feeling emptier inside by the second," Jams thinks in his mind, being the smart aleck he is. They proceed to have a conversation that several tens of primes have undergone before, and before he realizes it, Jams is alone again in the void as Omni fades out into the darkness.
Soon after the luminescent presence disappeared, the void started to transfer into increasingly lighter shades of grey. All the while, Jams starts to regain control over his body, and promptly takes advantage of his returned ability to commune with himself.
"Finally, it's about time. That soul-consuming darkness was eating away at my psyche- GREAT GATSBY MY EYES!!" Jams screams blindly into the void as the surrounding area becomes an extremely vivid white. A fountain modeled after an hourglass appears behind him, but he wouldn't notice it until a couple of minutes later, when he could wipe the pain-induced tears from his eyes and examine the design of the structure. When he eventually does, he notices it's simple yet quaint structure. Water flows down the glass chamber of the hourglass and into the surrounding pool. The water in the pool eventually gets sucked in a vacuum disguised in the structure and reintroduced into the glass chamber, thus restarting the cycle. The structure surrounding the chamber is simple; two wooden disks compose the floor and roof of the foundation and are connected by two wooden pillars on opposite sides, sturdy yet small enough so as to not obstruct the chamber.
After admiring the statue for an honestly ridiculous amount of time, Jams turns around and notices about three or four spots of black in the distance before turning back around, tears in his eyes once more. He decides to simply walk around and think of how to approach his situation with his eyes closed. Jams thinks better when he paces and debates with himself. It helps him keep his mind on track instead of just randomly drawing a blank.
"Alright," Jams thinks aloud. "What should I do? According to Omni, I could use this Omnimium... bleh, Omn-IL-ium, to create things out of my desires. Hmm... mayhaps I should create a vehicle? Nah, I'll save that for later... OH! I got it!"
Jams takes a relaxed position sitting on the edge of the fountain and promptly creates an iPod and headphones in just over 8 minutes. He could have done it in about 6, but an iPod with no music is rather useless. He promptly turns it on and begins to play "Soul Bossa Nova" by Quincy Jones. Before he puts the headphones to his ears, however, he just barely notices a group of people standing at somewhat of a distance.
"Oh hey, it looks like Omni's promise of my not being lonely holds up! Only prob is that my eyesight SUCKS. Eh, might as well introduce myself to the locals."
