Nothing. - Jams Bolero - 01-19-2016 Nothing. A purely theoretical condition that requires true, unhindered laziness on the part of existence. Humans were never able to imagine true nothingness. Sure, they could be doing nothing, maybe they had nothing in terms of wealth, or perhaps nothing would prevent them from taking some course of action. However, pure nothingness is something no one could imagine, as any attempt to create a void in one's mind would only invite unwelcome thoughts inside, even something as simple as a flash of color. Nothing was well beyond the grasp of human imagination. Yet here, floating in this empty void, Jams could only describe his location as nowhere. This world was a perfect, unending void. At least, until this boy popped in, it was unending. His red shirt and shorts stayed relatively stiff, although they flowed a bit due to the lack of gravity in this realm. Jams, however, was completely immobilized sans his eyes, which were looking around to inspect this wondrous sight. There was a certain charm to this empty land, mostly out of the fact that he got to experience what no one could possibly think of. Technically, if he looked at it from an artistic sense, this void could be considered to be full of "blackness." Not that it really proved much, but it entertained him nonetheless. Then, all of a sudden, Jams notices a white being. He promptly assumes this to be the god of his universe, albeit a great deal more luminescent than was expected. Actually, perhaps it was simply the contrast between this godlike creature and the surrounding darkness? Jams immediately puts aside his philosophic thoughts to listen to the figure and his proceeding speech. The being addressed himself as Omni, and states that this is not the world that Jams knows. "Well, I guess that theory's out of the void. I'm feeling emptier inside by the second," Jams thinks in his mind, being the smart aleck he is. They proceed to have a conversation that several tens of primes have undergone before, and before he realizes it, Jams is alone again in the void as Omni fades out into the darkness. Soon after the luminescent presence disappeared, the void started to transfer into increasingly lighter shades of grey. All the while, Jams starts to regain control over his body, and promptly takes advantage of his returned ability to commune with himself. "Finally, it's about time. That soul-consuming darkness was eating away at my psyche- GREAT GATSBY MY EYES!!" Jams screams blindly into the void as the surrounding area becomes an extremely vivid white. A fountain modeled after an hourglass appears behind him, but he wouldn't notice it until a couple of minutes later, when he could wipe the pain-induced tears from his eyes and examine the design of the structure. When he eventually does, he notices it's simple yet quaint structure. Water flows down the glass chamber of the hourglass and into the surrounding pool. The water in the pool eventually gets sucked in a vacuum disguised in the structure and reintroduced into the glass chamber, thus restarting the cycle. The structure surrounding the chamber is simple; two wooden disks compose the floor and roof of the foundation and are connected by two wooden pillars on opposite sides, sturdy yet small enough so as to not obstruct the chamber. After admiring the statue for an honestly ridiculous amount of time, Jams turns around and notices about three or four spots of black in the distance before turning back around, tears in his eyes once more. He decides to simply walk around and think of how to approach his situation with his eyes closed. Jams thinks better when he paces and debates with himself. It helps him keep his mind on track instead of just randomly drawing a blank. "Alright," Jams thinks aloud. "What should I do? According to Omni, I could use this Omnimium... bleh, Omn-IL-ium, to create things out of my desires. Hmm... mayhaps I should create a vehicle? Nah, I'll save that for later... OH! I got it!" Jams takes a relaxed position sitting on the edge of the fountain and promptly creates an iPod and headphones in just over 8 minutes. He could have done it in about 6, but an iPod with no music is rather useless. He promptly turns it on and begins to play "Soul Bossa Nova" by Quincy Jones. Before he puts the headphones to his ears, however, he just barely notices a group of people standing at somewhat of a distance. "Oh hey, it looks like Omni's promise of my not being lonely holds up! Only prob is that my eyesight SUCKS. Eh, might as well introduce myself to the locals." |
