Let's say that Jams was in the mood for a casual fight, nothing that could lead to death, but was still something he wanted to do IC for the fun of it. Would he have to change the damage meter to ridiculously low levels, or turn it off? Would it have to be a mock fight if he wants to avoid death on either side regardless of reaching 20+ damage (as if Jams were strong enough for THAT to happen)?
I'm just asking because Jams is the kind of guy who doesn't want to cause anyone the displeasure of dying and having to wait/miss 3 days respawning as well as having to come by Jams[' place] to grab their stuff afterward. And also because learning through pre-written text is one of my least effective learning methods.

Character name: John Egbert
Character source: Homestuck
Character history:
This is the John who dies while crossing the Yellow Yard in the post-retcon timeline.
Physical Description:
![[Image: VV7AYHS.png]](http://i.imgur.com/VV7AYHS.png)
Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF: 1
SPD: 4
TEC: 2
Starting Proficiencies (1600):
Ranged – 1000
Area Attack – 600
Starting Powers (3000):
Hive mind – 400
Dissasemble – 800
Flight – 1800
Starting Moves (300):
Windy Thing – 300 (Ranged, Area Attack)
John charges up for half a second, to then fire a small but powerfull gust of wind that pushes everything it passes through. The attack doesn't do damage by itself, but it can if the objective gets pushed to a wall, or if some object gets caught by the wind and hits something.
Depending on where John wants to aim, the attack will start 1m behind him relative to the direction of the attack, with an area of 2m in diameter and a travel speed of 120km/h. John is only controlling the wind behind him, so its power and speed decays right after he fires it, making the attack effective only around 6m from the starting position. Anywhere further than that wouldn't have enough power to lift objects anymore, even if the wind keeps traveling from this limit.
If hit from the starting point and up to 2m, the wind will push a person up to 1m before touching the ground. At 3m, the wind doesn't have the strengh to push a person anymore, but it will still make them lose balance and fall. At 6m, it can only push light objects (like empty boxes and plastic balls).
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. once again, i do confirm

Darkness had fallen over the realm. Within it, a group of travelers, all pulled from the same world, no, the same room of the world that would now only be known now as their long lost home, Earth.
Only after the the snarl of the monsters and the fall of one of their own, did they realize finally, that they would never see nor feel the comfort of their homes again. For once the truth became all too real, and the group comprised of ten people found themselves wondering, hoping, and praying at least to be saved from the darkness of the night. As if the fear of the unknown, and the deep encroaching feeling that this simple trepidation brings is one even more tremendous that of the very monsters dwelling within it. The evil monsters that had already slain one. The creatures that would not hesitate to kill again.
It was this night, in this place, that fear they had never known before, could be seen in their eyes. It was the fear of prey, prey that knew it was being hunted, and knew upon the skill of the slaughterer, that mere chance would not save them. They also knew that if they were not swift enough to evade, there would be a much more horrible fate to come than sudden death. There would be no safe return, there would be no more common conversation. Only screams and survival.

Up until the robbery, Sans thought Coruscant wasn't actually half-bad a place to live.
Or, more accurately, the job he had wasn't half-bad. Life in Coruscant wasn't the greatest just because of the lack of civil rights citizens had there. The concept of 'freedom of speech' apparently didn't exist, a fact the skeleton learned when he first arrived. He had been basking in the warmth of a bright sunshine while laying in a field of grass, smelling the luscious aroma of flowers and early morning dew. Roughly two minutes had passed when a pair of cops (whom he'd later figure out were called 'stormtroopers') showed up.
The 'stormtroopers' had walked over to him and demanded to know why he was loitering around in the park. The comic hadn't exactly taken what they were saying seriously and made several light-hearted jabs at their expense. That was all they needed for them to run him in and force him to do community service.
He did at least get the option to choose which job he would get so he naturally took the one where he could basically do nothing all day: banking. The officers had then escorted him down to Tier 2, where they showed him his apartment and then his workplace: The Empire's National Bank. Its walls were made of pristine steel that resembled the smooth, sparkling skyscrapers that towered over everything else in the tier. If it wasn't for the unwelcoming first impression, he might have been fooled into believing it was a nice place to live, if the awe-inspiring towers, almost-lifelike sky, and a littler number of cameras and guards around every corner wasn't just a half-hearted attempt to conceal what everyone already knew.
The banks size was rather deceptive. It was small but wide on the outside before morphing into a gihugic --a combination of 'huge' and 'gigantic;' a word made up by Sans-- space on the inside. The entire building was comprised of three rooms: the lobby, the offices, and the server room. The lobby was the room every customer and employee saw when they entered. It was the largest room by far and was fairly open, almost nothing blocking the path from the entrance to the counter where most of the staff worked. The counter served one purpose: to download the requested amount of money onto a client's 'credit chit' through the employee's designated computer. Once the employee plugged in the little metal chit into his/her computer, it would transmit a signal to the upper floors where the server room was located before downloading the requested amount of money into the chit. The comedian's computer was number eight, placed near the very end of the counter.
Every day, from 8 to 6, the skeleton would get up, eat breakfast, then leave to go do his job. He would walk in, exchange pleasantries with his fellow employees before moving behind the counter to take a seat on his leather chair. He would then lay in his seat, occasionally taking somebody's chit to plug into the computer before waiting an hour or so for it to download fully. He got a good laugh out of seeing the frustration on his client's faces as the little green meter on the computer screen slowly increased. He figured he should've been telling the manager that he hadn't gotten the memo to update his computer to fit into the new servers that resulted in faulty internet and thus incredibly slow download speed.
but where was the fun in that? he would always rationalize. It's not like he LOVED his job so much he'd do anything to keep it.
When it was time for closing, he and the rest of his coworkers would be ordered to reach up towards small, metal shutters that covered the windows of the counter, and pull them down. Extra security for an extra-secure realm, apparently. His manager had also told him of the bank's 'silent alarm,' which was a small red button placed about two chairs away from where he sat. It was directly underneath the counter, out of sight.
It was starting to look pretty darn inviting considering he had a gun to his nose socket.
He glanced towards the computer he was using: number 8. He read the time displayed on the bottom right hand corner of its screen: 8:30 AM. It had been five minutes since they had entered and locked down the place. A six man squad of adult humans had waltzed in like they owned the place and one of the firsts thing they did was pull out their weapons and shout at the top of their lungs for everyone to get on the ground. Everyone obeyed them, obviously.
Each criminal wore standard civilian attire which, under normal circumstances, made them look no different than the average citizen. What distinguished them, however, were their blood red ski masks they wore over their faces. Those masks muffled their voices, deepening them until their speech resembled an abomination of the human language, spoken with nothing more than electronic warps and warbles. All of them were also armed with some type of modern machine gun you'd see in an old war movie where they burned jungles and shot Asian people.
They kept two of their own near the entrance, standing guard in case someone saw through the 'The Bank is now CLOSED' sign. Another two were standing on the other side of the counter to his left in front of dozens of bound and gagged civilians. One leaned against the wall close to the door, silently observing the robbery take place. The last one was standing directly in front of the skeletal employee, machine gun in hand and aimed at his face. He had on a blue, tight-collared shirt that wouldn't have looked out of place in an office building. The skeleton couldn't help but note the irony in his clothing choice.
“No funny business, creep. I got more than enough bullets in this thing to kill you at this range,” he said, shoving his gun forward to accentuate his point.
“y-yeah, i, uh, i understand...” Sans said, nodding nervously as he looked back towards the gunner threatening him.
The monster listened as the faint sound of a female crying reverberated around the lobby followed by a loud WHACK as one of the gang members smacked the butt of his gun against the offender. He forced himself to look away. He was just going to have to take it. Endure it and give the criminals what they wanted. Not like he had much of an option, anyway.
“Pearson! How's the status on the download?” shouted the red-hooded man leaning against the wall. Pearson remained silent as he raised his weapon slightly, obviously expecting an answer.
The skeleton looked back towards the screen. The meter had barely gotten past 2%.
“it's about... halfway or so.. give it a couple more minutes..” he fibbed, chuckling a little as the blue-shirted man turned right back around, shouting back at the wall-leaner.
Through only that small interaction, the skeleton could have taken a guess as to who was what and what they did. He wasn't one-hundred percent certain, but he had a feeling that the man on the wall (whom no one ever called by name for some reason,) was their leader, and the gunman in front of him was named Pearson and the wall-leaner's second-in-command.
He looked down towards the red button for the silent alarm, seeing it was still out of reach. The one thing that could let him control the situation, and it was out of his reach. He couldn't say he was surprised by that. If he could just get the guy in front of him to stop paying attention....
The undead corpse coughed, drawing Pearson's attention. He said “sorry. was just, uh, thinking of a joke.”
“Nothing funny about an operation taking far longer than it needs to.”
“well, ya know, ya can't bank on technology going your way, ya know?”
“What are y-” he replied before pausing. He stared at the corpse, shaking his head, “I'll admit that I walked into that one.”
“Walked into what now, Pearson?” hollered one of the two gunmen overseeing the hostages.
“You can't 'bank' on technology going your way, you know?” he replied in a gruff tone, looking away from the skeletal employee.
Sans' smile grew wider as the two hostage overseers started loudly snickering, earning a scowl from the blue-shirted second-in-command. He quickly ordered them to knock it off as they started hooting and hollering. His efforts proved futile as their laughter grew louder and louder, one of them almost dropping his gun as Pearson tried to get their wits back in order. He was totally unaware of the skeletal comedian diving to his left and then slapping the silent alarm button. By the time he had looked back, seething from the unprofessional attitudes of his workers, the skeleton was back in his chair as if nothing had happened.
Sans didn't quite know what the exact response time was for the police on Tier 2, just that it probably wasn't instantaneous. If he was lucky, stormtroopers would be inside in a couple of minutes at the most.
He just needed to hold out.
“What is this?!” the second-in-command said as he leaned over the counter, staring at the screen. The green meter had just passed 5%.
The skeleton's white pupils shrunk in size as he looked at the screen, seeing his lies revealed. He remained silent as Pearson stomped towards his leader, cursing a blue streak the entire way.
The room became eerily quiet as he reached the leader. Sans observed them the entire time, seeing Pearson slowly nod towards his leader, noticeably tense. The monster's eyes narrowed as the second-in-command walked towards the overseers. Shivers flew down his spine as the man moved his finger up to his neck, slicing it across his throat.
Sans' heart sunk as gunshots and muffled screams reverberated around the bank. He shut his eyes, trying desperately to keep his ridiculous smile from faltering in front of the others. He felt the edges of his mouth quiver, tears forming in his eyes.
The gunman from before stepped in front of him, gun pointed directly at his face. He held his hands up in surrender, squeezing away the tears as he opened his eyes. He tried to keep his goofy tone of voice intact as he quietly begged.
“hey! woah, woah! ya don't gotta do this, dude! i've been helpin' ya and your gang!”
“Sorry, bonehead,” he replied, cocking his gun, “but the op's a failure. The Red Hood gang doesn't have time for your absolutely pathetic processor, so we're bailing. And since we're bailing, we can't afford to have witnesses. Tier 2 is tight enough as it is without having to worry about snitches ratting us out whereever we go.”
“hey, i'm a good liar! i could just say it was ritualistic suicide! they might buy it!”
“Exactly. It's why we can't trust you to keep a secret.”
For once, the skeleton had no witty response. He closed his eyes, drawing away from the barrel of the gun as it slid over the counter. He braced himself for the inevitable.
He heard the sound of an explosion, followed by screams of pain as he opened his eyes. He looked at the entrance to the bank, seeing two gang members on the ground, writhing in pain. Standing above them were two stormtroopers, one of which was aiming at the Red Hood Gang's leader. The second was aiming at the hostage overseers, demanding they get on the ground. Finally, there was... a bunny.
He wasn't going to bother asking.
Taking advantage of the distraction, he leaped into the air and grabbed hold of the shutter. Before Pearson could realize what was happening, his hand was crushed as the skeleton slammed the shutter down onto his fingers, his gun barely poking out from the bottom.

They say one dies a second time when that person is forgotten. Here in the Omniverse, it is a prime's true death. Miranda had a job to fulfill and then she was nothing. She could only watch herself in silent horror as her body glowed and degenerated into a cloud of rainbow, crystalline dust. The fiery warmth of the Ashen Steppes grew cold with abandonment. Miranda had lost whatever favor she had with the white being known as Omni. Like trash her consciousness was stripped away from what seemed to be a body of omnilinium. She cursed herself, cursed Omni as her final moments dragged her into a dark oblivion.
Right as her basic being slipped away, she found that she had not quite been cast away yet. In the pearly white realm of the Nexus, her body formed before her eyes. Her left, artificial eye flickered to life, shedding a dim crimson glow upon her regenerating form. From the "dust" this world was made of she returned completely in body, but not quite so in mind. The first word to whisper in her head was the name of the childish "God" Omni, who's name sparked resentment and seeping anger within her core. Digging deeper she found a name: Miranda Frost. Could it be her name or one that she knew before? It didn't matter. It was her name now. Her mind stabilised, though memories were stripped, wiped clean. This she didn't care about. Perhaps those memories weighed her down, kept her from seeing the truth, the truth that none of this was real.
She was a fake, a proxy made of this white, rainbow colored dust known as Omnilinium. Perhaps this whole world was constructed by it behind the scenes. It was all a dollhouse for Omni's amusement.
Behind the steel mask Miranda gritted her teeth and rose her mechanical, prosthetic arms before her, flexing the pumps that allowed them to emulate "Real" human arms. A consciousness didn't mean she was naturally formed. Machines could be made to better suit the maker's needs. One with godlike power could emulate laws of nature, correct? Why not? Miranda stepped from the fountain of light she was reformed at, noticing something quite unfamiliar with her body. One might be expect to be born with the majority of one's body with flesh and blood, but Miranda felt as if her movements were hindered.
Bringing a finger up to her cloaked chest she tapped it, feeling the rigidness of metal beneath her skin. Ironic that one such as herself would consider herself artificial in an artificial world when she would have been a creation of some sort in a world more realistic. It was enough to give rise to a small chuckle, a smile forming behind her magnetically sealed face mask.
Her dimly lit eye scanned the area, noting many others here. Curiously there were multiple armed men or women clad in white armor closing in on her position, firearm-like weapons at the ready. Despite the helmets hiding their facial features from normal human view, her eye could see through them. They were cautious, perhaps even afraid. Seeing beyond them two more individuals were walking away to one of the many gates that lined the edge of this pure realm. Interesting.
Ignoring the white clad nothings, she began to walk toward the gate the two others exited through. Why waste any more precious time pondering on which door to go through? Simplicity is a treasure. Not one step though and a pair of troopers blocked her path.
Sighing she gently dismissed them with the wave of her hand. It was suggestive at first, but only because she didn't want to wear down the knuckles on her gloves with this pointless fight. "You are in my way. Not smart".
"Ma'am. We implore you to come with us to Coruscant.", one of the two spoke up, his grip tightening on his blaster. The others stood in place at the ready, maybe five of them. Miranda
Miranda sighed and crossed her arms, shaking her head. "I don't think you all heard me. Get out of my way and you will live. My mind is made up on where I want to travel. Do. Not. Trifle with me.", She growled pushing her way pass the pair. She expected them to fire on her, but they bothered her no more. Smart.
It was time to see what was behind this door.

Thor emerged from the Camelot/Nexus gate, feeling the usual rush from the momentary separation of himself from his hammer. It did not matter weather his Hammer was the first through the gate or if it was his person proper that took the step out of one verse and into another. The separation from his Hammer made him feel weak and vulnerable. He released a breath he had been unconsciously holding as his Hammer followed his arm through the portal. The Red-Hood did not take long to follow his Asgardian companion into the alabaster expanse of the Nexus. The former hero of Gotham turned toward the portal to the Ashen Steppes he noticed something was off. Thor was not following. Thor starred at the Tiny shapes of the primes as they dashed around each other near the fountain of rebirth. One combatant in particular stood out to him. Thor watched the multi-colored giant, radiating power with each vicious swing of his arm. The other primes seemed as insects, in need of swatting, when compared to this demonic god among gods. "At last!" Thor said loud enough for his companion to hear. "An enemy worthy of the God of Thunder!" Thor laughed. Perhaps an enemy as strong as this could make him forget for a moment the people of Midgard. Make him forget Jane, and Sif, and all the others he was leaving undefended by remaining trapped in this dream of glory. He took a step toward the battle.
"Don't, we have a dragon to slay and a God to kill. Let them deal with their own problems." Red said from behind him.
Thor turned and began to walk toward the gate to the Ashen Steppes.
"You are right, Thank you my friend."

Character name: Warren Zimmer
Character source: NFL Rush Zone
Character history:
Originally Warren Zimmer loved spending time with his dad Richard Zimmer. However his dad was always too busy, working on experiments with the Core which was a powerful energy source from outerspace. This led to his dad creating the robot known as "Side Kick" to look after his son. Unfortunately, Richard didn't count on the robot developing emotions similar to those of a human, including jealousy. In a last ditch effort to bond with his father, Warren agreed to be part of an experiment that would lead to the creation of a group of individuals to guard the Mega Cores, and the Core from threats. Unfortunately, Sidekick who would later become known as Drop Kick sabotaged the experiment, killing Richard, and trapping Warren in a containment suit to survive. Over the years, when R.Z 6.0 came online Warren grew angry, believing he had been replaced by the Guardians in his father's eyes.
This led to him becoming the villain known as "Wild Card" but in the end, he was defeated by the Guardian Ish who sacrificed his Guardian abilities in order to save all of his friends, and the world. Locked up in a prison, Wild Card was later 'released' or rather broken out by the villainous alien known as Sudden Death who decided he'd use Warren and Drop Kick in order to steal all the Mega Cores of the planet. Unfortunately, when Sudden Death turned Warren back into Wild Card he didn't count on how treacherous Warren Zimmer was. Eventually Warren helped the Guardians defeat Sudden Death, but it was part of a plot to steal the energy of the core directly. It was thwarted, and the safe zone was completely obliterated.
Enter the Omniverse:
Warren dozed off when working on a machine and was brought by Omni. Waking up, he's realized he's somewhere new and doesn't have anything or any of his resources presently.

Stats:
ATK: 3
DEF:3
SPD:2
TEC:2
Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength – 1000 OM (Example move)
A unique proficiency, this allows characters to become proficient hand-to-hand combatants without purchasing any additional moves for normal punches, kicks, etcetera, the strength based on your ATK stat. It also allows for picking up heavy objects with your bare hands, strength dependent on your ATK stat. Once purchased, you may also purchase melee weapons such as swords, staves or whips as moves, or other advanced melee moves such as charged strikes. For the purposes of clarity, any move that reaches further than 12 feet away from yourself requires the Ranged proficiency.
Ranged Proficiency – 1000 OM (Example move)
Allows you to purchase moves which use projectiles or attack from range. For example guns, bows and long-range beam attacks.
Starting Powers:
Super Speed – 1000 OM
Super Speed is a technique that allows you to move up to double your normal movement speed by sacrificing manoeuvrability and turning speed. It takes several seconds to build up speed from your normal top speed. The faster you go, the longer it takes to turn and slow down. At 150% of your normal top speed, you are still able to turn, but in a much wider turning arc. Finally, at double your normal top speed, you will only be able to run in a straight line. Super Speed can be used in conjunction with Flight to traverse distances much faster.
Advanced Regeneration – 1800 OM (500 OM if replacing Basic Regeneration)
Advanced Regeneration allows you to regenerate more serious injuries to yourself such as bone fractures and even severed limbs. Don't expect to be able to do much mid-fight without spending SP, though, unless your DEF stat is extremely high (see above for rules on expending SP to heal damage).
Starting Moves:
None yet.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yes.

Step 1: Make a post. This post should be at least 600 words. You may also post multiple times adding up to 600 words or more.
Step 2: Click on the name of your post. See it? It's probably something like 'Re: The Story of John Doe', a large line of text above your post. This should have a hashtag and your post link at the end of it (see the bolded part on the end here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=81&pid=357#pid357). Copy the entire URL from your address bar.
Step 3: Post it in the active fortnightly gains topic. The date of your post should be within the date range, GMT. If you are submitting multiple posts that add up to 600, post all of the links.
Step 4 (optional): If you have posted in the current book club, please include a link to that post along with the text 'book club'.
Step 5 (optional): If you have a Recognition bonus, please include in your post 'Recognition bonus: +50'. If you have an Ascendancy bonus, please post with 'Ascendancy bonus: +100'.
That's all you need to do! When the topic is updated, you will be given 300 OM. Obviously if you have a recognition or ascendancy bonus, this will be increased by 50 or 100. A book club bonus will increase this by a further 100. If no mod has posted at the end of the topic, then it hasn't been updated yet. You do not need to ask "has the thread been updated? I didn't get my OM" every week.
New fortnightly gains topics go up every second Sunday at midnight (at the end of Saturday and the dawn of Sunday) GMT. The valid time begins on Sunday at 0000 hours GMT and ends on Saturday at 2359 GMT.
