I'm a little confused about artefacts. What stops us from just... making one? Being all "Hey guys this is an artefact now"
Is there an artefact approval thread I somehow missed? Is it like only mods can make them? The rules say they can be found randomly so I don't know what exactly defines how you find one...

Dammit.
Quote:Homestuck spoilers below
It was all that ran through the Knights mind, a wave of regret coursing through his body, numbing the pain as he gritted his teeth, feeling the blades of both the mutts piercing his torso. Everything was toast. He was the slice of bread at the end of the loaf, the butt of it all and the last piece as some guy in his boxers took the jelly out of his fridge, right before plugging in his toaster. Breakfast on a cheap dollar store platter.Might as well have soaked himself in suntan lotion because his ass was COOKED.
He could only continue his stupid ironic tangents as he hit the floor, feeling his life seep away. There was no way that this was the Alpha timeline, there had to be something else, he could feel it, what the fuck had gone wrong? Someone fucked shit up like Obama up in here. One more dead Dave for the history books.
Then it all went dark.
The Knight of Time would drift off, stuck in time and space as he phased in and out of consciousness, soon finding himself floating in a mysterious void, forgetting his disposition. Was there any hope that he would come back to see the light, to have a second chance at life. Everywhere was blood, red tinted shades before his mind would clear, when he would feel his heart beat once more. He would not truly meet his doom, but find himself in a new world, opening his eyes behind his shades, as ironic as they were dark. He would take in a gasping breath before coming to, flailing for a moment before holding his head in one hand, grunting at a painful headache he now had. He felt a tinge of rage build inside him before shoving it down, looking around as a white figure appeared in front of him.
Dave Strider. The Knight of Time took his slouching defensive stance as he examined the being.
"What the hell are you supposed to be? Did I accidentally get stuck in some sketchy ass stick animation? I swear if I start seeing perfect cubes and geometric shit I'm gonna slice them in half, bring some rebellious triangles up in here. Maybe even make them like obtuse or something."
Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
"Omni? So you are just some shitty god then. Fuck am I supposed to go on some crusades or something. I am not one of those fucking knights, okay, my shenanigans deal with time. Whatever religious setup you have pent up for me right now are going right out the fucking window like burning bacon you forgot to check on after making your bagels. Shit's dangerous yo. Gonna have to go get my fucking fire extinguisher but wait, it actually just spews out sick fires that just put out the shitty one and replace it with mine. " HE gave a bit of a smirk as he laid that down for whoever this Omni guy was. Maybe he was a God, maybe not, hell if he knew.
Dave then shrugged before processing the rest of what the douche said. "Where the fuck am I anyways, this shit looks worse than a dream bubble. The Omniverse? All you did was add 'verse' to your name. You are the biggest god-douche I know. In fact, you are the only god douche I know, so congratulations. What the hell do you want, what the hell am I supposed to do?"
Quote:This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.
Dave looked at the substance. It seemed so gooey and mushy, like puke. "Where the hell did you even get this." Dave shook his hand a bit as the omnilium stayed hovering right above it.He then wanted to try to cut it, but his pockets were empty, as was his sylladex."Where are all my cheap ass blades?" He asked, not getting an answer. "Fine, I'll use the omnilium whatever to make them then, what else?"
Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.
"You have to fucking kidding me, so basically like respawning in SBURB with God-Tiering bullshit, just like before but with different rules. This better not be a fucking mini-SBURB game because I have had enough of that shit. Where are the other people though its just a fucking blank mess. Seriously I would have been fighting for my life again that standing here talking to a white douche with no eyes. Do you even know how I look like? Can you even bask in the sick fires I make with your nonexistent eyes?"
Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
"Wait what the fuck am I supposed to--"
Within a few moments, the figure was gone, and Dave found himself at the Fountain of Infinity. Fucking great. The douche was also watching him like some omnipresent creep, probably why he was named Omni by whoever the fuck. Probably another different colored douche with no eyes. In either case, he gave Dave the fucking chills, mostly because it reminded him of how much of a douche his bro was, always pushing different things and fights onto him. At least there wasn't any puppet ass, please let there be no puppet ass.

Taking her bike to the gate, Madotsuki mused, had not been the best idea. While it had made her arrival quicker (not by much, though), the endeavor had left her worn out long before she arrived. That must've been quite an amusing sight for the Stormtroopers standing guard at the entrance-- an out-of-breath teenage girl riding a red bicycle with a knife tucked into the basket. The Stormtroopers glanced at each other, then at her weapon. She was a kid, but so were many other Primes.
They stepped aside and allowed her passage. With a nod, Madotsuki continued on to the other side. As soon as she was out of sight, one of the Stormtroopers pulled out a communication device and began talking into it.
"A new Prime just came by here. Do you want to investigate further?"
"Of course we do. More troopers will be following them shortly."
---------------------------
If her eyes hadn't adjusted from the brightness of the Nexus, her eyes would've been blinded by the sheer amounts of color that Coruscant brought to her sight. How long had it been since she had last seen something this vibrant and unobscured by fog? Not counting her dreams, of course. Despite the fact that the city looked like something out of a sci-fi movie, the entire situation felt oddly... normal. Normality was a feeling that she had long forgot.
With renewed energy, she raced into the heart of the city. Flying cars hovered far above, and metal buildings loomed so high that Madotsuki could barely see the sky. If there was one thing that didn't impress her, it would be the massive crowds. She loathed crowds, a fact she had briefly forgotten as she entered Coruscant. Not only could she barely hear herself think due to the constant bustling, she managed to get herself lost. ...Could you get lost if you didn't have any destination in the first place? Apparently you could.
Another thing that left the dreamer unnerved was the massive amount of surveillance that seemed to be everywhere at once. At each corner she crossed, several cameras came into view, half of which were trained on her. Several Stormtroopers like the ones at the gateway patrolled the streets, and every time she glanced in their general direction, she caught a glimpse of them watching her before they turned away.
Desperate for some privacy, she discovered an alleyway with fewer cameras and ducked into it, unaware of the group of Stormtroopers trailing behind.

The Golden Haired boy felt the world of Aincrad slowly melt away before him. There were a few moments between his Player Death and the boy's mind being fried by the very gear that delivered him to that world. In these few moments, Zelrius stood in what appeared to be a sky with a Sun seemingly locked in infinite twilight. The invisible platform underneath his feet keeping him from falling into the seemingly endless void below the floating castle. He had enough time to form a small sigh, and then it was gone. He was strangely more aware in Death than he had thought he would be. In his mind's eye, The golden haired boy had always imagined it to be nothing but pure darkness, and no thoughts, but yet here he was; still able to form meaningful whispers inside his mind.
For a moment, the boy felt fear. He had always been unconvinced there was an afterlife, and now was terrified to meet a sort of Judgement. Despite how many times he laughed at the idea of a god, when a figure finally appeared, Zelrius found himself wanting to plead for forgiveness, against the fact that he firmly believed he had done no wrong. The boy found he couldn't form words no matter how he tried, but somehow the being before him still understood entirely what he wanted to say.
The being raised a finger, silencing Zelrius' thoughts and then went on to explain the situation in a bit of detail, though it seemed he was more or less being wordsy and poetic about what was going on. As the being introduced himself and explained his reasoning for bringing Zelrius here, the fear seeped away to anger fairly quickly. And he didn't listen to a single bit about the Omnillium. All he cared about was the part where 'Omni' basically told Zelrius he was just another pawn of many, and it made the boy want scream and yell, wanting nothing more than to draw his swords and slice Omni into shreds, if not to kill him, then to anger him.
Finally the boy was dropped by the Fountain, currently in the form of an actual fountain, though he ignored it, now able to talk. "NO GOD DAMN IT!" Were Zelrius' first words in this new realm. "I WILL NOT BE A FUCKING PAWN ANYMORE, I AM SICK OF IT." The boy wildly drew his swords and swung furiously, whacking the Fountain and swinging in the air. "KILL ME, LET ME JUST DISAPPEAR ENTIRELY." He tired out quickly, slumping against the fountain, trying not to break down. "I don't want to live another lonely existence... please..." His face pet into his cupped hands, sobbing quietly.

They were on their own now.
Ever since the other Primes had dashed off, the constant wailing howls of the dragons had continued unabated. Everyone spoke of Alpha Squad as if they had the most grueling, dangerous job, but no one exactly knew how many broodlings Volvagia had spawned over the past decade. Sure she wasn't responsible for EVERY dragon in the Steppes, but being the de facto leader of all dragon-kind, she had likely drawn the groveling of more than a few different strains.
Suddenly, a momentous explosion sounded from the top of the Caldera. Had it begun? A nearby stream of lava began frothing and undulating unnaturally, and the collected Primes readied themselves for the onslaught. Harry was half-expecting some sort of bemusing anticlimax, but no, hundreds of slithering, crawling wyrms began to pour out of the molten notch like bats from a cave. Some had wings, some had horns, and some even walked upright with a humanoid gaite, but they all did possess one single defining characteristic.
Their eyes, those gleaming, aqeuous lenses, glinted with a fierce blue-green that marked them as one of Volvagia's kind. The Gorons in the clearing did not hesitate, and immediately started chucking explosive bulbs at the encroaching swarm. Another nearby crack in the mountain began spewing the draconic vermin, and in short enough order, hundreds of barking, hissing dragons were closing on Gamma.
"Well." Miranda said, bashing her steel knuckles together in a shower of sparks. "Shall we?" In response, Colonel and Connor immediately opened fire...
Quote:Objective: Fend off Volvagia's horde until either it disperses or Alpha Squad completes their objective.
Players can take four different actions:
Attack- Focus on directly damaging the horde, dealing equal points of damage to your ATK, or 10 dmg per tier of supermove. Power Ups and Forms give the normal ATL and DEF bonuses
Defend- Forgo dealing damage and avoid taking any damage, at the expense of either another Prime or the Gorons
Pull- Call the attention of the horde for an extra amount of damage you decide.
No Action- Deal no Damage and take full damage, with any defended damage automatically being alloted to you. (In other words, don't miss a round)
The Horde deals 16 damage each round, distributed evenly among Primes unless someone defends or pulls. Damage only hurts Primes when the amount alloted to them overcomes their defense, i.e., A 5 DEF Prime who draws 5 damage is unharmed.
There are 20 Gorons, which can serve two functions. Either they can each individually deal the horde 1 point of damage per round, or, you can use them as meat shields to block 2 damage per Goron used. Using them in this way obviously kills them.
The Horde has 1,000 HP, each HP representing one dragon. Extra damage may be granted for outstanding writing.
Word limit is 800.

One might normally think of a cave as a quiet, sullen place.
Such was not the case with the caves at the summit of Death Mountain. Walking around inside an active volcano is about the furthest thing one can get from peace and quiet, and the constant shuddering and cracking of the walls very much induced the feeling like the entire cave might collapse at any given moment. Strictly speaking, this was actually a good thing.
Still, as the five Primes and their Goron charges loped cautiously through the darkness, it was hard to feel optimistic about the situation. The feeling of having been 'consumed' for lack of a better term was pervasive in the thrumming blackness, and the rough stone walla emanated an oppressive, sticky warmth that made it hard to breath.
The faster this was done with, the better. Ideally, Volvagia's horde would be too busy off fighting Gamma squad to spend time occupying these upper caverns, but one could never be too careful, especially when escorting bundles of high explosives through a mountain that was on fire.
Quote:Objective: Escort the Gorons through Volvagia's caverns and plant explosives at four key locations.
Volvagia's lair consists of 20 circuitous 'spaces', meaning they loop around. Explosives must be planted at spaces 5, 10, 15 and 20. All Primes and Gorons start at space 1.
Packs of dragons can randomly spawn on any space at the start of each round. If a dragon spawns on your space and you are unhidden, you will fight the dragons and take 5 damage. If multiple, unhidden Primes are on the same attacked space, they can distribute the damage among themselves
The Gorons always follow and take the same actions as the Prime that is 'leading' them, and they cannot be separated. They can switch leaders freely.
Primes can take three actions per round.
Move- Move one Space
Hide- %50 chance to conceal yourself to avoid detection.
Divert- Call attention to your space, immediately drawing all spawned dragons to your space.
Gorons also have a special action to plant their explosives.
If the Gorons are left vulnerable, or the Prime guarding them dies before all dragons on their space attack, the Gorons take 5 damage. As a group, they have 10 hp. If the Gorons all die, the squad has failed.
The Gorons start out following Nealaphh.

The array of mighty Primes dashed and stomped resolutely through the crunchy lava dust underfoot, determined to reach the summit before the horde had a chance to muster itself. Each had their own doubts about the tenability of Nealaphh's plan, but all errant thought was eradicated when they crested the lip of the caldera.
A shimmering, roiling lake of lava nearly a quarter mile in diameter splashed and frothed angrily within the shallow black bowl. Great geysers of molten death spewing melted stone high into the sky with tremendous explosions. Somehow, preposterously, a large island languished in the very middle of the lake, its black sides glinting with an interminable shower of winking fire motes.
The Primes squinted and shielded themselves as they adjusted to being pelted by a near constant stream of cinders. The acrid smoke was thick enough to completely obscure anything more than fifty feet away, and the roar of the implacable geologic monstrosity beneath their feet made shouting mandatory.
In spite of all of this, things seemed too quiet.
"Nealaphh. He is certain the beast is here?" Thor bellowed, hammer drawn and ready. Zack swatted an incoming bomb of smoking stone away from his face and hollared a reply.
"Look at this place! Where else would a legendary fire monster hang out?!"
Tom spoke now for what seemed like the first time that morning, having cast a relatively simple charm to keep the ashes and embers at bay.
"Perhaps we need to knock. Mr. Paleblood?" Tom asked, gesturing to the diseased maul in the Plague Marine's grip. Nodding, the cyclopean warrior gripped the Gigaton Hammer in two crusted claws and slammed it into the volcanic substrate with an overhead swing. The bang was enormous, enough even to startle Gildarts, who edged away from the field of impact as shards of obsidian were blasted in all directions. The Strongest Prime glanced back towards the lake, and noticed the central island shifting and crumbling.
"Bigger than I expected..." Gildarts grumbled.
