Posted by: Gildarts - 04-26-2016, 02:32 PM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (11)

LATELY I've felt very lazy, or at least through the site, sparks of inspiration come and go, but the only thing I've been successfully consistent at is writing a decent amount of story. (Side note I've been reading book after book hobby wise.) Other than that, I have not really progressed on keeping up with moves and updating my rosters -which- admittedly I still need to do! (Evidence case and point: gildarts' om count and my naught updated logs)

So I'm open to advice! How do you find it in you to /want/ to do tasks that are less than desirable? I consider myself disciplined and have a good amount of willpower but if I channel it only through SOME mediums (what I see will directly help me progress) rather than indirectly, like chores and laundry, what's a good way to view balancing it all together so I can realize even clean laundry is important?

  Deadhead Dreams
Posted by: Harlan Higgs - 04-26-2016, 11:53 AM - Forum: The Astral Realm - No Replies

"....and he just up and disappeared one night. That Mr. Hendy made a tidy profit selling off the rest of the business, though, eh?" A man wearing a top hat nudged his travelling companion with a chuckle. Dressed in a thick scarf and a warm coat, the surly looking ruffian shot Top Hat a glare. "Oi didn't arsk for an 'istory lesson. Just if anyone knew where 'e went. Rotten barstard owed me a bag of silver and a barrel of salt pork."

Perched on top of a travelling stagecoach, the two men waited for their passenger to conclude her business in the bank. Across the street, rain pattered on the dilapidated building that had been empty for nearly a year. Above the door, a sign with peeling bronze paint said "GOLD'S MERCANTILE AND SHIPPING".

The whole scene filled Grundy with a searing rage, although he did not understand why. As it faded away, he realized that he did not have a body with which to crush and destroy. Momentarily confused, he vaguely recalled previous instances of such a situation, although he could not recall what he had been doing before this. Walking? He had been walking with people somewhere...no, he had been with friends! Exploring an icy cavern and tunnel system..but after was a blank. Maybe they had stopped to rest?

It was an odd feeling. Grundy knew he hadn't died, but the only time he experienced this feeling was deep in the comforting, crushing muck of the swamp before he was reborn once more. He didn't need to sleep either, although perhaps the Smiling God and his own unique version of reality required it from the zombie. Perhaps he was sleeping, sleeping and dreaming. Settling down, he waited to wake up.

Your life. Brief. Your death. Long and unending. Like us.

Solomon became aware once more, trying to pinpoint the source of the voice. But with no body, he had no voice. Silently, he accepted his inability to respond and returned to waiting.

You are simple. But effective. Requires familiarity. A memory. Yes.

Suddenly, the zombie found himself in his body, standing in a familiar place. A huge glass dome, sunlight filtering through the panes. Plant life bloomed in abundance, flowers half his size and trees dropping odd fruits on the ground. He's been here more than once. It was owned by one of his friends before the Omniverse. A woman, a botanist.

Just as he thought of her, there she strode out of a flowering bush. Beautiful and intimidating, vines and leaves snaked around her body to serve as clothing. Her skin was pale green, although something seemed odd about the blue moss that wound its way around her neck and torso. A name of fiery red hair was also shot through with streaks of blue. Her namesake wound its way up her shoulders, creating epaulets of dark green and only adding to her presence. Grundy opened his mouth in delight and called out to the woman.

"IVY! GRUNDY VERY HAPPY TO SEE YOU HERE! DID SMILE GOD BRING YOU HERE TOO?"

Ivy smiled demurely, waving a delicate hand at the white hulk. "Solomon....It's good to see you as well. Thriving. You've made new friends, too. I'm glad." She stepped closer as Grundy nodded eagerly. "GRUNDY MAKE MANY FFRIENDS. GOING ON ADVENTURE NOW!"

The green woman pulled something from a nearby plant, the seed pods growing round and blue, almost crystalline. She placed it against Grundy's forehead and nodded. "Yes...I want to give you something that will help. It's going to be dangerous in your adventure, but as long as you listen to what your head tells you, you and your friends will be safe. Be good, Grundy." With a short, sharp press forward, Grundy felt the orb sink into his head, the pale, wet skin reforming over the hole it made.

Ivy stepped away and disappeared into the bushes. The zombie waved goodbye, feeling the garden fade away once more, along with the feeling of his body. He returned to waiting for consciousness again, ignorant of just how crystalline and blue all the plants and structures inside the dome had been, that orb inside his head making a pleasant vibration...

  Let Darkness Come
Posted by: Dr. McNinja - 04-25-2016, 05:57 PM - Forum: The Pale Moors - Replies (4)

Dr. McNinja's iPhone purred, searching for scraps of signal in this god-forsaken world. He was sitting by an abandoned campfire, Yoshi snoring gently nearby. He had long since given up on reigniting the ashy twigs, and instead resolved to sit through the cold night.

The Pale Moors. He'd never been here before. It was simply a delightful place. The area outside of the gate was a swamp, straight from the recipe: start with the stereotypical stink of eggs old enough to enjoy whiskey, and add the ominous gurgle from swamp gas that the muddy gunk rudely emitted. To top it off, sprinkle in a thick mist which limited your vision to arm's length and coated your face with uncomfortable humidity. And, of course, mix in the crowd of tiny flying insects, too small and fast to catch or identify. Dr. McNinja counted at least four diseases he could catch just from sitting here.

Even Yoshi, who could normally maintain a quick speed, was exhausted by the grueling quagmire surrounding them. The main path had disappeared about half a trek ago, so forfeit was not an option. Though, frankly, it never was from the beginning. Not when King Radical was involved.

Doc couldn't put his finger on it, but there was something very sinister about King Radical. He just knew that the man was planning on something. Something evil. Otherwise, he probably would have made a beeline for the forest paradise he called home; but he had to stop whatever plan Radical was cooking up.

He crossed his legs gingerly. He considered swapping out the white labcoat in favor of clothes that weren't so hard to keep clean. While it demonstrated his doctorates, it was not fit for adventuring. To at least keep it relatively clean, he had draped it carefully over a less soaked log.

Dr. McNinja straightened his back, let his eyes close, and began to hum.

Ever since he arrived in the Omniverse, Dr. McNinja lost many of his abilities. Of course, he regained some of it, and learned new ones. Like the chainsaw nunchucks - a fairly recently invented branch of ninjutsu, but very powerful. Only Mongo the Uberninja could wield it with any serious threat. And Mongo, well, he was an Uberninja.

Yet Doc's translation to this place cost him one ability which he sorely missed. Back home, Dr. McNinja could channel his life energy to shift parts of his body into an ethereal state. This technique allowed him to strike other ethereal beings, evil spirits like the ghost that stole his grandfather. The ghost that stole his name.

Patrick.

Doc felt the word roll in his mouth, leaving a sharp taste of copper. He was never really part of the family, and that was understandable. His disregard for his grandfather's orders led to John's death. And his lack of a first name strangely estranged him from his parents, which was a bizarre experience altogether. He didn't just lose his name, he lost the right to having one entirely. It was almost a relief to get his Ph.D.; at least now people had something to call him by.

"Damn," Doc muttered, "That was a while ago."

He pulled out his phone, finally getting connection. Doc was usually not this sentimental. Maybe this was some sort of psychic phenomenon about the place. Or maybe that was just the gross, foggy swampiness strangling his direct vicinity. The swamp was bubbling intensely, as if the swamp had been holding in a fart for about a week.

Nurse Matilda was right. This place was horrible. The entire Verse seemed more or less overrun by monsters. Which was, you know, charming. A harsh swamp area, filled with horror movie cliches. Just charming.

Dracula Castle was here, apparently. Doc frowned. This meant, he supposed, that this Dracula was probably not a resident of the Moon. He hoped that this didn't mean he had to kill more vampires. Well, okay, he sorta did. Well, okay, he definitely did.

But then... he read something disturbing.

Quote:"Travelers leaving Darkshire are advised not to eat or drink anything they find in the wildness and avoid any dense fog they may encounter, particularly around the abandoned city of Silent Hill in the mountains."

Doc looked up.

There was a thick fog everywhere.

"Oh no."

The swamp started bubbling even more.

"Oh come on."

UPD8:

Alright, so, sorry about any and all delays for the past week or two, been pretty busy with the last weeks of school and my work schedule. FOR NOW, as we are now a bit more than walfway through this month, most of your characters are now interacting and starting to flourish in their own little ways. Those of you that havent posted... *ACCUSING STARE*

BUT, now you guys must start addressing the game. Some of you may have it, others waiting for it to arrive, and maybe even some of you are still procrastinating to get the damn thing. In either case, you have to have the game ready IC by the last week of May. So be sure to do that. The last week of May and the beginning of June will be the transfer into the Medium, and all of your planets are currently being worked on as you read this post. You will be starting on your planet, and the only way to reach others will be to climb the portals and whatnot. Now, one thing that is going to be special is that a few of you may have already awoken on your moon. We will pm you if you have. Also remember that even if you did happen to be one of the ones that wake up early...your characters do not know how to play the game completely at first, if you are unclear on what your character knows, please pm the First Guardian.

Alright but all of that aside I hope you guys are having fun messing around for now, because soon, you will be thrown into the DEPTHS OF SBURB HAHAHAHHAahHCOUGHOCOGGHGHGHGHGH ahem.

Also profiles below have been linked to their appropriate intro posts.

Your name is PAUL. You are QUITE INDECISIVE, and are especially bad at making decisions under stress. Your garden tends to be quite haphazard due to this. You easily LISTEN TO ADVICE, but are a BIT TOO TRUSTING. This sometimes lead to very POORLY EXECUTED ACTIONS, since not all advice turns out to be good. You are usually RATHER CHEERY, and not much can change that. You are EASILY EXCITED ABOUT NEW THINGS. You are always ENTHUSIASTIC, and meets every task with a big smile. You live in a old house somewhere in the TANGLED GREEN. After being spontaneously summoned to the OMNIVERSE, you decided to wander through the forest. On your first day you stumbled upon this house, and proceeded to live in it. You like to READ, favoring books that your parents would tell you NOT TO READ if they were here. Your favorite book from back home is GOETHE'S FAUST, but reading it brings back PAINFUL MEMORIES. As mentioned before, you write an ADVICE COLUMN anonymously in a small COMMUNITY NEWSPAPER, indulging your liking of SHARING KNOWLEDGE. Your room holds MANY BOOKS, arranged in what might appear to most as THE HAPHAZARD AFTERMATH OF A BOOKNADO, though you know where each and every tome is.

You BECOME VERY NERVOUS around firearms, due to your PAINFUL MEMORIES. You INTENSELY DISLIKE LATIN AND MATHEMATICS, despite being EXCEEDINGLY PROFICIENT at both. You are fascinated by ELECTRONICS, having come from a place without any, but you are WOEFULLY INEXPERIENCED with them and STRUGGLE with anything MORE COMPLICATED THAN YOUR PDA.

Your name is PAIGE.  You were recently summoned into the OMNIVERSE for some reason, but you are not sure why.  Nonetheless, you set out to rebuild your AWESOME TREE FORT like you [wish you] had back at home.  There are various SCIENTIFIC ARTIFACTS adorning the top of your bookshelves, including a PRISMIC PYRAMID, a BUNSEN BURNER, a PAIR OF SPLASH GOGGLES and A BALSA WOOD BIPLANE.  You've always had a slight fascination with SCIENTIFIC FACTS AND THEORIES, but even more than that you have a passion for READING.  Your bookshelves are so stocked that you've resorted to filling up your game case with them.  Can you really help yourself, though, when titles like THE GREAT GATSBY or A WRINKLE IN TIME exist?  Sometimes you wish you could be a great author yourself, which is why there are a few HANDWRITTEN SHORT STORIES in your bookshelf.  You think most of them are pretty bad, but you're GETTING PRETTY GOOD recently.  Adventure is something delve into from time to time, mostly in your head though.  You also have an enjoyment for games, especially when you actually have time to play them.

Your name is Jay. It's a nice day in the green. You have just finished your moderate exercise. Next you will tend to your garden. You know the importance of keeping the plants in line while they are growing, and you will encourage them to grow the right way when you have to. You also know when to cull the weeds if problems persist. You have a borderline unhealthy obsession with rules, which your friends have gotten to know decently well. Speaking of friends, you have appointed yourself as a law bringer of sorts, creating a large list of rules to keep your friends both safe and in order. After all, it's a dangerous world out there.

Your name is TODD. You've been in the OMNIVERSE for a long while, but you aren't totally sure how long. Your room is cluttered with various GAMING PARAPHERNALIA. You are most interested in the collecting and assembling of large and highly-detailed SCALE MODELS and FIGURINES. Dominating your room is your custom-made DATAVERSE ACCESS POINT through which you work, trading virtual and real goods. This trade is quite profitable, but it does mean you do LACK ANY REAL FRIENDS and are INCREDIBLY SOCIALLY AWKWARD, despite how much time you spend on various ROLEPLAYING GAMES. You also like to TINKER WITH ROBOTICS and have gotten PRETTY GOOD AT IT.

You work at an APOTHECARY in DALARAN, and you've managed to convince your BOSS, an elderly wizard, to give you a few magic lessons. When you're BORED[/color], which is a lot of the time, you like to either read SHITTY FANFICTION, or play time wasting MOBILE GAMES, or alternatively some higher quality vidya on the LAPTOP you had smuggled from Coruscant. You just really like VIDEO GAMES, come to think of it. You've tried your hand at DRAWING before, but you weren't MOTIVATED enough to improve your mediocre skills.

You have a like for CALIGRAPHY, and you would consider yourself pretty good at it if it wasn't for your TERRIBLE ORTHOGRAPHY that ruins your works of art, which you cover as AESTHETIC MISTAKES and IMPROVISED TYPING. When you are not drawing or writing, you like to watch controversial INTERNET VIDEOS only to laugh and fight in the comment sections with other trolls such as yourself. You also like to take apart CIRCUITS and other ELECTRIC MACHINATIONS to see how they work, but you can never rebuild them because YOU SUCK AT IT.

It's now up against the wall along with OTHER PAINTINGS of people who used to be your FRIENDS but AREN'T ANYMORE because they didn't like your ART. You like TRAVELING, as evidenced by the various SOUVENIRS scattered around your room, including a FAKE YELLOW ROSE. You're a big fan of ROSES since they're so pretty, and several can be seen in the paintings on the wall.
You hate being ALONE, so you try to make everyone your FRIEND, but your enthusiasm tends to DRIVE THEM AWAY. DARK ROOMS also scare you, especially when you're ALONE, so you tend to leave lights on.

  Ballad vs Akame (Mock Fight)
Posted by: Corporal Light - 04-25-2016, 06:01 AM - Forum: The Whateververse, Man - Replies (2)

“Nauseating…” Ballad whispered to himself as he plunged the cleaver into the limb of the dead troll, managing to slice it halfway but not completely cutting it off. Blood flew out from the wound as he jerked it from the arm, grunting in an annoyed manner.

He had been working on this particular job for over a few hours. It had started at roughly nine o’clock at night, when he had tasked a particular group of captured trolls to dig mass graves for their future kin. The many that had rebelled were swiftly dealt with in brutal fashion, and the rest has been taken care of soon after their work was complete. They had done a rather decent job with the materials he had given them; the graveyard was massive, stretching over a large field covered in snow. There were approximately two hundred graves, each marked by a stone slab buried into the earth. He had been half tempted to force the surviving trolls to carve the names of their loved ones into the slabs, but he decided against it despite SPBs urgings. He did have to hold up an image of an overzealous warlord, of course, but there were lines even an overzealous wouldn’t cross.

He finally managed to remove the limb from the mutilated troll’s body as he slammed the cleaver into the arm. Sighing, he picked up the other carved up appendages, stashing them away in a red wheelbarrow he had created at the start of his job. It was already rather full, with various pieces of gore piled up onto each other.

He wiped his blood covered black gloves along his green pants, shivering. His golden glowing eyes glanced up towards the darkened sky covered by giant clouds. Said clouds were dropping tiny particles of snow onto the ground; thankfully, it wasn’t enough to hinder his eyesight.

He tightened the crimson scarf around his neck as he walked towards the wheelbarrow, tossing the cleaver behind him.

Good thing the dwarves are back at camp… he thought, grabbing onto the handles of the wheelbarrow, I could simply say I was on a “classified” mission as I deliver these offerings to the dragons.

He was about to start moving the cart forward when he turned his head to his left, seeing a lone figure off in the distance.

The figure stood at the bottom of an incline that lead up to him, surrounded on all sides by the stone slabs that marked the graves of the future dead. The figure had long, black hair that ran all the way down to her knees, covering up her otherwise bare legs alongside her black mini dress. She was wearing a long, dark coat, probably to keep herself warm in the cold field. Ballad glanced down towards her left hand, narrowing his eyes as he saw the katana in her hand.

He sighed, letting go of the handles of the cart. He probably should’ve expected something like this was going to happen. Maybe one of the dwarves caught on to what he was planning and had sent an assassin after him. Or maybe he had played his overzealous dwarven leader tactic a little TOO well. Or someone just wanted his bounty.

It hardly mattered. What did was the fact that there was a girl, holding a blade, and obviously intending to use it on him.

He stood on top of the hill, his hands to his sides as he looked down towards his opponent. He called out to her, his voice polite and fanciful while also holding a commanding tone.

“I would bid you to elucidate as to your motive for this elimination, but I am a perspicacious individual. I’m sure I’ve committed some misdeed of yore.” He called, harrumphing when he received no response.

He reached up to his green trapper hat, adjusting it in a formal manner even as he continued to speak, “Regardless, I must humbly refuse this act of malice aforethought, for my mission is far too important for acts such as this to divert me. With these final words of departure, I command you to leave these hallowed grounds before I resort to other measures to ensure it.”

He did not wait for a proper response. He slid his hand into his coat, removing his revolver.

Quote:Continued from Dreams of Absolution

Unfortunately, once Madotsuki had shut the trapdoor behind her, she realized that the tunnel had absolutely nothing to slow her descent-- no ladders, no footholds. Instead, the underground route was fashioned like a slide, and a crude one at that. Tiny rocks knocked the dreamer about as she rode down the pitch-black tunnel on her back like she was an Olympic Luger. Those would be forming some nasty welts later. This continued for several minutes, and she was starting to worry about where this was going to lead her. What if she was going to the center of the Earth? Was this even Earth? Probably not, but the tension was there all the same.

Her eyes widened in alarm as a faint glow notified her that she was about to reach her destination. There was one problem: the light emanated from behind a rock that was wedged firmly into the wall. At the speed she was going, her entire lower-half would be crippled if she rammed into the exit. She tried to push her arms against the sides of the passage in an attempt to slow down, but there wasn't enough room for her to move. Gasping deeply, she tucked her head to her chest and braced for impact.

However, instead of bringing her to a complete stop, she continued along her course as the rock dislodged itself. She hung in the air for a moment before she landed on the pavement back-first (a thing she hoped wouldn't become commonplace). Her body ached all over, so she waited for a while and listened to the ambient noise. Horns blared in the distance, and faint saxophone music felt oddly placed. The sky was shrouded in darkness, but the streetlamps offered enough light for her to realize that this place was some sort of underground city.

Once her pain had subsided, she sat up and glanced around. The tunnel had dumped her in another alley, but this one wasn't so pristine; dull red bricks replaced sharp chrome, and the entire place smelled of sewage. Wrinkling her nose, she stood up and turned to the tunnel exit. She grabbed the rock, surprised at how light it was, and wedged it back into place. It blended impressively well with the wall, and Madotsuki thought that she might have a problem locating it again if she needed it. She probably wouldn't, though, since there didn't appear to be any way to return from this side.

Sighing, she turned and walked away like nothing even happened. Her eyes casually flickered around, trying to see if any cameras were tracking her. To her delight, there were none. As she walked down the street, her ears tried to hone in on the saxophone music that was playing nearby. Maybe she could get some information from the residents? Hopefully the Stormtroopers wouldn't interrupt her again. Next time, they'd get a lot more than a couple... whatever those crescents were, to the face. It was always a bad idea to mess with an irritated stranger. She had barely been here for an hour and she was already hiding from the enforcers. Way to make a first impression.

The Journey for Paper (Cleansing the Earth)

Jams' vision, once filled with colorful and natural wonder, had been replaced by a drab wasteland.  Gray ashes blanketed about half of a mile of former forestry, the charred remains of trees scattered about the area as they rested on their sides.  The sky, now finally in clear view, was a light overcast with the clouds poking out the bottom like hilly terrain.  This made Jams feel slightly better as he always loved overcast, though it did make the scene feel all the more depressing.  Some of the embers had been carried into the air, clouding the area in a sort of black fog that made seeing more of a challenge.  Eventually, the dust settled, some of which onto the leaves of bordering trees.  It's likely that this stunted their growth, as the trees along the edges of the scorched surroundings were quite shorter than those behind them, and they less than those behind them.  It was as if someone had reenacted the great Pompeii disaster in miniature.  He inhaled the airborne soot and coughed violently; the air in tasted and smelled like rotten eggs, the pungent stench of sulfur making this burnt patch of the woods feel like he was standing atop the brimstone of Satan's realm itself.

"Eugh!" Jams shouted in disgust, his tongue sticking out as he yelled, "This is simply appalling.  Whoever did this should be ashamed.  A.  SHAMED.  For this blatant waste of life."  Jams never really got as offended as he showed, even when it was warranted, and certainly not now.  Upon reflecting, Jams realized that he wasn't really as angry as he thought he was, in fact he didn't feel anything.  This bothered him, as it felt like he used to do this kind of thing where he faked his fury, but he wondered why that was.  His thoughts transferred to Have I ever actually gotten offended or mad before?, his right hand pointing left as it rested on his chin while he thought.  Well, there was that one time-

Huh?  Where'd it go?  The memory was right there a second ago-  *sniff* *COUGH WHEEZE*

Whatever it was, Jams lost whatever train of thought he had.  No matter, the ashen terrain forced another memory to resurface.  A memory of him and some companions in a volcano, preparing to engage in a battle.  The opponent was a dragon, obviously, but there was something unique, something sly, something... unnatural that they could not have realistically prepared for or anticipated.  Unfortunately, Jams couldn't remember it for the life of him, nor could he remember the names of two of the companions.  He did notice that the "K" girl from earlier was a part of the team... Kelly, that was her name!  Physical details were forgotten, but she really liked pigs apparently.  Whatever the case, Jams and those three companions had teamed up to battle a dragon in what he was absolutely positive was their first major fight with anyone or anything.

The boy broke out his clamshell and flicked it open with a push of the thumb and the jerk of his arm.  Chances are he habitually did this before the Omniverse, seeing as he realized that there was literally no reason for him to open his phone at the moment.  He did notice that the time looked like it ate a few AWAKE bars, the equivalent of 3-4 average cups o' joe.  It was set to automatically adjust to the local timezone, but considering the weird Omnitime mechanics that Jams didn't know of at the time, it was spinning so fast it looked like it was counting milliseconds instead of minutes. Quite disconcerted, Jams smacked his phone on its side out of schadenfreude rather than trying to do anything.  It did do something, however, and Jams swore to Omni that he's decipher the secrets to Omnispacetime just so he could get his phone's clock to stop reading "∞∞:∞∞".

  Killua Zoldyck
Posted by: Killua Zoldyck - 04-24-2016, 08:24 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (10)

Character name: Killua Zoldyck

Character source: Hunter x Hunter

Character history: Taken Pre-Canon - Meaning right after he ran away from home and right before he entered the Hunter Exam.

Physical Description:  A pale, short pre-teen male with silver white hair and electric blue eyes. Wears a long sleeved blue shirt under a plain white tee. As well as a pair of dark blue shorts and purple and white sneakers.

Stats:
ATK: 2

DEF: 3

SPD: 3

TEC: 2

Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength – 1000 OM

Starting Powers:
Burst Movement – 800 OM

Super Jumping – Basic – 300 OM

Stealth – 1200 OM

Starting Moves:
Sharp Claws - (300 OM) Killua has the ability to alter the anatomy in his hands enough to transform them into claws that are as sharp as knives. This process take two seconds to complete in which he can then use them for combat. His nails are lengthened to two inches long with razor sharp tips and are capable of slicing off person's body parts (head, legs, arms) and with enough precision he can even rip out someone's heart. Unfortunately with entering the Omniverse Killua's power extremely low - thus the most his attack can do is cause lacerations on opponents with low DEF at best.

Rhythm Echo - (300 OM) Rhythm Echo is a an advanced version of another technique that is used by members of the Zoldyck family of assassins. An assassination technique that has a total absence of noise as the user walks with varying cadence of steps that leave after images confusing the opponent in which the assassin uses that moment to strike and attempt to harm the target. Due to being a stealth related move Killua only gets one chance to strike the opponent as striking alerts the target to his presence and cancels the technique - thus he cannot do any other attacks after that one strike (Those with Foresight are also able to detect Killua before he strikes) . The after images appear instantly within his vicinity the moment the technique begins and disappear the moment he strikes. They have no actual negative effect on the target and instead are used as distractions for Killua to sneak up on the victim. To start the technique requires Killua to be focused on a singular target - thus requiring his complete focus and concentration to utilize - making him vulnerable to any outside attacks. The process takes three seconds to complete and to utilize effectively. Since this move requires certain specific conditions to use correctly - this technique is not meant for wide and open spaces nor without proper preparation. Due to the weakening effect of entering the Omniverse this technique is much slower and easier to detect and react to due to Killua's lower SPD and ATK. Also anyone with TEC equal or higher than Killua (or having the Enhanced Senses ability) will be able to see through the technique rendering it useless.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. =w= ~b

  Stranger in Ambrosia
Posted by: Odin - 04-24-2016, 02:01 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (21)

The dirt road sprayed dirt as Sleipnir came charging through the portal. With a yank on the reins, Odin brought his mount to a rearing halt. The horse hopped once on its hind legs before falling back to all fours. This new realm was very different than the Nexus he just arrived from. The shining sun offered a warmth that the cold white lights had not. Overhead a hawk lazily drifted on updrafts while smaller birds sang their love songs in the trees. Squirrels and mice rustled the undergrowth, as a doe grazed on a bush nearby. To the south a dirt road formed. Having no other leads, Odin nudged his mount along the path.

Reminds me of Midgard in spring, thought the old god as Sleipnir clomped along. Their route was marked by the impressions of horse hooves and wagon wheels warn smooth by the shuffle of feet. Occasionally they came across stranger prints and markings, the like that Odin had never seen before. In the interest of time, he refrained from investigating them.

Ten minutes into his ride, he finally encountered someone along the road. A woman sat astride a cream colored horse pulling a heavy-laden, two-wheeled wagon. Odin waved to the traveler and brought Sleipnir to a halt. The woman road up next to Odin, nodded, and asked, “What can I do for ya?”

Odin noticed the woman spoke with slow, cautious words. With a smile, Odin explained, “I am new to The Tangled Green. Can you tell me where this road leads?”

The woman eyed Odin, trying to decide something before finally answering. “You are headed towards Ambrosia. The only slice of civilization this ‘verse has to offer, as far as I’m concerned. It’s about a ten-minute ride from here. I assume you already know you came from the direction of the Nexus gate.”

Odin tipped his hat to the woman and thanked her before continuing down the road. She watched the old traveler as something cooed in the back of her cart. The man gave no indication that he had heard or suspected anything, so she continued on her way to Coruscant.

Ambrosia stripped Odin of the sense of familiarity he had felt along the path. On the outskirts of town each ranch and farm was stranger than the next. As he rode past a field of cabbages, he heard a baby crying. Gazing out into the plants, he saw that one of them was opening to reveal a baby inside. A worker bent over and tenderly lifted it up. A second worker gently swaddled it in blue cloth before slowly placing it in a basket full of other babies. A pasture to his left held what appeared to be giant baby chickens. To make matters worse, it appeared that tiny, white bears were riding and training them.

As Odin crested a hill, the whole town was suddenly on display. The majority of it was made of log cabins and other wooden structures. Although the design was different than the cities he was used to, there was nothing alien to them. Scattered throughout, however, were many stranger buildings. Some were made of all metal while others seemed to have just grown into living homes. One appeared to be a giant glass bowl filled with water. Sunken inside was a small, sandstone castle, seaweed growing around it like trees. The largest building, by far, was a pink palace surrounded by thick vegetation.

Taking a deep breath, Odin continued to ride forward. He had a lot to learn about his new world, and it seemed that it was going to be a fascinating journey.

So, my character is a dragon handler. She knows basic magic but mainly relies on her dragons for combat. How would this work? If it works at all?
