It had been an eventful evening prior to this, but now he stood at the precipice. Events would crumble into disaster at any moment, and Ace had no power to stop it. He just stood, watching a man with a gun take aim. He felt the barrel pressed against his chest, but with his hands tied to a cold, metal street lamp he could do naught to stop it. Foul words were spit at Ace in Japanese, but Ace responded only in English. "Fuck you." The barrel left his chest, only so his assailant could ram the butt of the shotgun against the side of Ace's head. The captor shouted at Ace, obviously demanding a response he could understand.

Ace could speak the language. He may not be a native speaker, but he knew enough to know what this was about. Submit or die. It was always the same demand. Submit or die. Submit and accept defeat in the final round to a mobster-child, or die and lose by default. It goes without saying which he would chose. He was not interested in the prize, but he had gained the honor as a warrior he desired since childhood. He could not give it up. Ace again responds with a royal F-bomb, before switching to a language his captor could understand. ["Kill me. I will never sacrifice my honor."]

The gun returned to his chest. A snapping sound just barely makes it to his captor's ears. He stands frozen, face shifting from dominance to fear. Was it...? No... couldn't be...

It was. With a quick flick of a bloody wrist, Ace swats the barrel of the gun to the side, just before the barrel ignites. His ears ring, but his free hand still strikes true, placing a well aimed open palm to his captor's chest. The Japanese man fell to the ground, clutching his chest as he gasps for breath. Ace kicks the gun away before walking to the unguarded door. "You should not underestimate me."

Alas, as Ace gathered his sword, improperly propped against the door frame, his next step towards the door is shrouded by darkness. He felt nothing around his head, so nothing had blinded him. Nothing had fallen over the narrow window shedding sunlight into the partially underground room - and even if something had, this was simply too dark. This was not a natural darkness.

Then it appears. Ace could not tell if the figure was male or female, just a silhouette in the darkness. He leaned more towards male as the figure spoke. “My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.” 

The entity known as "Omni" handed Ace a glimmering orb. He accepts the gift questioningly as Omni began the explanation. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most." Right now it would be fore more information - alas when he tries to ask a question, his voice did not make it past his lips. He was silent, listening to Omni as if this were all but a recording, playing back as it had countless times before and would continue for countless times more.

“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn."


“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.” 

Do not fear death? Though he had come to accept it long ago, the fact that it no longer mattered struck a cord. The image before him faded. The world brightened. It was not the same world he had left, not in the slightest. Everything was white, except for the fountain - which reminded him of the cobbelstone fountain he played in as a child back in America. Quaint, but irrelevant.

As Ace's wit returned to him, he feels the weight of his weapon in hand. It was properly sheathed again. His attire had changed - he was apparently in his uniform. The black silk felt comforting in this uncomfortable situation. His wrists were bandaged too. It feels as if he had just appeared before that strange entity, yet it seems several hours had passed. Ace, more confused than ever, simply sits where he had appeared.

"This is too much," he said, verbalizing the biggest obstacle in his mind. His eyes closed, his breath slowing. In his meditative state, he reflects upon Omni's instructions and advice. It was all so much to deal with, he had to refine his way of thinking. Deal with it one step at a time.

Omnilium. It appeared to be a magical essence. Whatever it really was, the way Omni described it, the material was omni-functional but not omni-potent. He would need more, like building blocks. No, he thought. Like Experience Points in a videogame. He could use this Omnilium - these "experience points" to empower himself in any manner he saw fit, even non-magically, he assumed. What would he do with it though? Use it now, or save it? Save it, he decides. Maybe someone else will give him a few good ideas on what potential this material really possesses.

Death. What would he do now that death was no problem? Was there a purpose to being a hero? Unless not everyone is capable of this "respawning" trait. Omni had said there were others like Ace, but not all others are like Ace. This was but speculation, and he feared it was quite unfounded. Not worth investigating, but for the moment it was not the most troubling of matters.

That last bit Omni spoke of - watching and waiting... it baffled Ace. Waiting for what? Was Ace supposed to do something? He took an exceptionally deep breath, breaking his rhythm. "Fuck..." His shoulders slump as did his head. So many other things flooded his head it was overwhelming.

"I'm a cop, and damn good at my job. It all began years ago, in the line of duty. Me and my partner were chasing down a mysterious kung-fu master. We arrested him but with one fatal blow from his katana, he hit my partner. I could tell he was dead straight off. Before I could pull the trigger, I was hit by lightning and bitten by a cobra. I blacked out, and saw images of ancient Shaolin temples and monks mastering the art of kung-fu. There was an ancient prophecy about a new form of kung-fu so powerful, only one man can master it: The Chosen One. When I woke up, I saw the kung-fu master running towards me. I could feel my body mutate, into some sort of kung-fu freak of nature. The Ninja notice me being the chosen one and I kicked his ass. As a memento, I put on a strip of cloth from the dead kung-fu master. I decided I would use my new super kung-fu powers to fight crime. So I became the best cop in the world. I became Kung Fury." Kung Fury's main firearm hold 7 rounds in a clip and the reload speed is 2.35 seconds. The gun's fire is semi automatic and he can empty a clip in 3 seconds. Range for the gun is short to medium. For accuracy he is quite well but for a target the is faster than a average human being, he wouldn't really get a good shot on them.

While I'm waiting for a response concerning the quest I just finished, I kinda want to practice a battle before it happens for real. I'm not comfortable playing other people's  characters, though. Max word count is 800, with a one-week time limit between posts, although I'm very lenient with time.

Character history:
At the age of 15, science-whiz high school student and Queens resident Peter Parker came into contact with a radioactive spider. The arachnid bit him, but instead of dying, Parker's DNA mutated and he developed special powers.

He manufactured different technologies to control his senses and streamline his ability to spin webbing, even making himself a makeshift costume as he took it upon himself to save New York City from evildoers after a bout of apathy resulted in the death of his Uncle Ben.

Because, after all, "with great power comes great responsibility."

He is taken into the Omniverse six months later, at the age of 16, a fledgling superhero with a lot to learn...

Peter, being a near-genius (especially for his age) has developed technologically advanced wristbands that take the natural webbing created by his body and morph it into something more potent. The devices themselves are little more than tight-fitting, metallic cuffs, with a button placed on the underside of his wrist. Peter presses the button and the webbing shoots out through a small hole just underneath.

Depending on how long Peter pushes the button, the webbing either shoots in short bursts, good for entrapping a single part of an opponent's body, or in long strands, good for tying up opponents or as a mode of transportation (i.e., using the webbing as a sort of zipline or to swing from structure to structure).

The webbing is pretty tough, able to withstand most abuse, but breaks easily when sliced by a sharp object. The shooters can fire webbing at about a yard per second, and can fire it up to 100 feet (the average width of a New York City street, since he's shown to be able to swing from building to building). Because the webbing is created naturally, Peter technically has a constant supply of it, but the shooters are not capable of firing it constantly for more than a minute before they need about thirty seconds to recharge.

Wall Crawling - 300 OM
When Peter was bitten by the radioactive spider, some of his anatomy was altered to resemble that of a spider's in addition to acquiring their acute senses. Not only did he inherit their flexibility, but the hairs on his fingertips and the bottom of his foot also grew firm and sticky, which allows him to clutch onto flat surfaces normally rendered unclimable. He is, obviously, still the awkward teenager he's always been and so remains clumsy, and can be knocked from the wall with a simple blow, but he has grown pretty good at scaling walls and climbing and staying on other flat surfaces, such as ceilings.

Yukki woke up laying on his back staring at a white nothingness. He could hear the sound of trickling water nearby. He slowly sat up, still exhausted from his last job. He reached into his jacket pocket and a frown fell on his face, for his trusty sidearm was missing. He sighed. If what this mystical 'Omni' Said was true, then he would have to remember to summon it later.

Yukki pulled himself off the ground and looked around him. Except for the fountain with trickling water next to him, everything was a vibrant white. "Someone has to know I'm here, right?" He muttered to himself. "Do I wander aimlessly or wait for someone to show up?" Figuring it would only make matters worse to get lost, he sat down on the edge of the fountain. "I'll sit for a while and rest. If nobody comes, then I'll just head whatever way I'm facing." He slid down the edge and rested his head where he had just been. He slowly closed his eyes as fatigue took over.

Merik bounded into the Endless Dunes atop the shadowy lion, and to the lion's relief, it was sundown. There was no moon in the sky, only a bed of stars, pricking the blanket of black with little white sparks that littered the sky. In the middle, there was a particularly bright strand illuminating certain branches of the sky  but it was not the Milky Way, that he might see from Earth, for the cloud of assorted stars and planets was smokily undistinguished in shape.  

The cool breeze filled the mane of his sweeping golden hair, and Merik tasted the icy hollow air of the desert. So many skyless nights he had spent in that frigid, glacial jail cell below the earth. The thought of these tortured memories made his skin crawl with anger and disgust, which flourished with a fierce blaze in his eyes. They rippled through the night, just as a shadow might, it hovered over the dunes in a strangely mystical way, for it left not path of the print of a paw on the sand. Suddenly, he heard a noise, and turned his head, the lion halted at once, jouncing its rider uncomfortably as his body flung forward. 

When his eyes had rolled back into place, he wincingly noticed what the hold up was, and Merik felt the chill of fear creep over his skeleton with more bite than that of the air, for he realized he was perched atop a monster. 

Over the horizon, there was another, the shadow lions were one of the Endless Dunes' most terrifying predator. They were entirely territorial, and upon this realization, the Prime leapt off Caira's beast at once, which had started a low rumble in its chest as the other beast approached, Merik noted, in the darkness, that Caira's was a male, and the one drawing near to them was a female. 

He blinked as his hands fell to the watery sand and looked at the confrontation blossom, he particularly looked at the tamed lion he had ridden. It looked completely different than the shadow lion beasts he knew as Chimera type hunters, that can and will rip the head off of any unprepared human if it gets the chance. Caira's beast was smaller in proportion, and it's eyes, though Merik suspected originally -that is before the conversion of loyalty- they glowed a different shade of light. Then there was the lioness, large and beastly, with vicious spews of raging orange light came from her extravagant maw. Something about her was so very savage.

Compared to the she-lion, the male looked like a tabby cat, though Merik suspected this was not the case, for soon, a pale blue light grew on his shadowed face with vibrant menace. His size had increased too, as though the dark magic of the night was there to feed his black form. The mighty lion was now larger than the female, and the male was twice that. The beastly encounter however, was not over, they padded in circles around one another, the male emitted a low growl, as though warning her to back away from him (and Merik) or force him into battle. The female, seemed to agree, for her eyes were not blind to his sheer size, and her ears seemed to have heard his unspoken message, but then, she seemed to find he had another use, and his form was tackled to the ground, the power of their collision alone, caused the earth below Merik to not only shake, but erupt with spouts of sand.

These gauntlets are made of iron and have sharp, serrated edges. Shyvana can also charge this ability for three seconds, and then bring clamp down both gauntlets to deal heavier damage to the opponent than a normal strike. 

When Shyvana is in Dragon Form, she now uses her newfound claws to attack her opponents. Her talons give her an additional foot of range from her hands. Shyvana can also charge this ability for three seconds and attack with both claws hitting everyone in a three foot wide cone ahead of her for extra damage. 

Burnout(Requires Area Attack Proficiency, Burst Movement)- 600 OM: Shyvana summons fire around her, covering a three foot radius all around her. While Burnout is active she gains twice her movement(burst movement). This move can last for up to 6 seconds but multiple uses leaves Shyvana extremely fatigued. 

If Shyvana is in Dragon Form, Burnout additionally leaves a trail of fire wherever she goes that lasts for 5 additional seconds. 

Flame Breath(Area Attack Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency)- Costs 600: Shyvana throws out a fireball that stops upon the first enemy hit. The fireball itself does very insignificant damage itself but leaves the spot impacted very tender and much more weak. Shyvana's next attack on the mark deals significantly more damage than otherwise. The mark lasts for 5 seconds and Shyvana will be in heavy fatigue if she uses this move relatively quickly.

If Shyvana is in Dragon Form, the flames come out in a 3 foot by 3 foot cone in front of her and can hit multiple targets.

T1 Super Move-Burning Hands(requires Physical Proficiency)- 600 OM: Shyvana rushes up to the enemy and forcibly places her palm against her opponent's chest. She then summons fire to her palm and releases it into her opponent's breast, severely burning it. 

T1 Power Up Form- Dragon's Arrival(1000 OM):
Shyvana shows her enemies her true form and powers up into an enormous dragon about 30 feet tall.
