Little Ghost, the Hollow Vessel (Nezha's second character) [Complete]
Posted by: Little Ghost - 06-07-2017, 06:50 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (3)

Character name: Little Ghost

Character source: Hollow Knight

Character history: Little ghost does not remember much, though the Void Heart pulses with emptiness in his chest. He knows that his journey was long. At first a long time in the darkness, unmoving. A slightly shorter one on the surface

Awakening in the desolate lands far beyond Hallownest's borders, Little Ghost was empty. Bereft of will or vim, the little bug spent many cycles gazing at the dark skies during the night and sleeping during the day. Until that dream.

White light, not the soft paleness of the moon, but harsh and burning like the sun in the desert, searing, scorching, trying to find purchase on a mind not yet born. Trying to find purchase in emptiness. And like the void at the root of all things, there was no life for this light to grab a hold off, to twist to whatever purpose it served. The following night on those desolate plains, something other than windswept sand and snow was moving. A small form, clad in a horned little mask and a tattered cloak, was slowly trudging over the dunes, the winds and both hindering and helping his short stride.

Moons came and moons went. The snows abated. And in the distance, a light. It was something small, something... soft. Pale and soothing, rather than harsh and searing, it spoke of an accomplished age. A small lamp, and further on, another. The little shape wandered on. A solitary mountain rising in the distance. No, not solitary, a range. A natural wall of grand scale to keep the desert outside, clearly visible even at night. Follow the lamps, up a pass and then a sheer cliff straight down, with a lamp on the ledge and a village in the distance.

A leap of faith.

A cave, a tablet, and a Door. Another cliff and the village, Dirtmouth, with its sole inhabitant. The well. And then Hallownest, the Eternal Kingdom.

Home.

Physical Description:
Why do you struggle so hard, Little Ghost? Do you not know the burden you seek to bear?
The Pure Nail (300)
The ultimate weapon of Hallownest. Crafted to perfection, this ancient nail reveals is true form.
A weapon from an ancient age, Little Ghost can not remember where he procured it, or when he had the time or knowledge to repair it. For it is the same nail he has always carried, repaired as though it may be. He can feel it in the very core of his emptiness.

Wielded instinctively, a Nail is hardly more effort to swing than ones arm. And sized for an insect-man-thing of some four feet in height, this little weapon has but a reach of two and a half feet. It is obviously something organic, and yet it is as hard, sharp, and tough as, if not harder, sharper, and tougher than, any blade made out of metal.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
Indeed, I can verily confirm this!

Where did you find us?
Find you? I, Dio, was here all along! MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Additional Information:
Little Ghost is the Main and Titular Character of the game Hollow Knight. He was actually plucked right at the ending*, but he does not remember this. Perhaps due to the Void Heart filling him with emptiness? I plan to introduce more of his story as I play him.
*Post-Radiance Boss Fight, so post true ending?
Switching: Clownpiece
Posted by: Clownpiece - 06-06-2017, 06:01 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (7)

Character name: Clownpiece

Character source: Touhou Project (Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom)

Character history: Clownpiece is a hell fairy who served under Hecate for a long while, causing mayhem as fairies are wont to do. She had no greater ambitions until one day Hecate and a tentative ally, Junko, enlisted her help for an assault on the Lunar Capital. With Junko’s power, her, and many other fairies, were purified into beings of pure lifeforce, or if you ask the Lunarians, who were pure of both life and death, pure impurity. Inspiring madness in her comrades, Clownpiece led the charge against the lunar society, with a horde of fairies who were all but invulnerable to the Lunarians, who couldn’t even risk being near the fairies, lest they were forcefully pulled back into the cycle of life and death.
This, of course, meant nothing to certain meddling earthlings, who were already part of the circle of life, and were also very peeved that the Lunarians were being driven to earth. In the end, the fairy army was repelled, and Junko’s plan was foiled. As a reward for doing her best, Hecate sent Clownpiece to earth, a much more peaceful and friendly place to live than hell. It was here, after a brief but fun stint on earth, that Clownpiece was grabbed by Omni.

8424 OM to spend, if my maths are right.
Starting Proficiencies (4,000): Ranged (1000), Physical (1000), Buff (400), Debuff (1000), Area Attack (600)

Starting Powers (1,800): Flight (1800)

Starting Moves (2,100):
Lampad’s Torch (Physical, Ranged, Buff, Debuff, Area Attack) (900): A mysterious torch that helps Clownpiece drive people to madness. It’s made of wood, and is about 2.5 feet long. Rather than a burning flame, the end of the torch glows with an ethereal purple light. If worst comes to worst, she can smack someone with it, but the light doesn’t burn, and the torch is only a wooden rod, making that a fairly ineffective maneuver.
Rather, the torch’s main purpose is to mess with the sanity of those who look at the glow. After charging up for 5 seconds, during which she can not move, attack, or otherwise use moves, Clownpiece waves the torch in front of her, a single sweep during which the purple light glows brighter. Enemies within 20 meters who look directly at the purple glow during this sweep are stricken by sudden irritability, and for the next 10 seconds, they may find themselves acting slightly more aggressive and impulsive than normal.
Alternatively, Clownpiece can direct that glow towards allies instead. Rather than inspiring irritability, allies afflicted by the madness-inducing glow are more ferocious for 10 seconds, making them less likely to hesitate, or fear. Both applications of lunacy drain Clownpiece moderately, she can use them several times in a fight, but she has to be wary about overexerting herself. Once the madness had been inflicted, she can continue to on with whatever she had been doing before, as it doesn't need to be maintained.

Hellfire (Ranged, Area Attack) (600): Clownpiece fires out a simple blast of hellfire from whatever hand is free, which reaches up to about 3.5 meters away from her and measures about 1 meter wide. She can begin firing after about a second of charging, and is capable of holding it for up to five seconds, during which she can sweep it around, and even move with it, much like a flamethrower. It does take a second for the fire to reach max range however, so if she's trying to hit a moving target, she does need to lead. Due to the low charge and energy requirement of it, the blast it quite weak at first, certainly much weaker than you'd expect an attack called "hellfire" to be. Alternatively, she can charge it first, for up to five seconds, and unleash it in a much larger and stronger fiery blast, turning the stream into a large cone, immolating an area up to 10 meters away from her and 5 meters in diameter at the widest. This version she can't sweep around, keeps her rooted in place, and she can't maintain it for nearly as long, only half as long as the base form. In exchange for all of this, it actually holds a heat worthy of being called "hellfire," as it burns through all but the largest obstacles in her path, reaching max range in about a second. No matter what level of blast she's using however, it requires her utmost concentration to use, preventing it from being used in tandem with other moves.

T1 Super Utility: It’s Lunatic Time! (Ranged, Buff) (600): Clownpiece sweeps her torch in front of her, glowing with a bright purple light that inspires madness in her allies. Grants 4 Attack, spread through up to 4 allies. Though in order for them to be affected by the torch, they must be within 20 meters of her, and also must look directly at the glow.

The Range of the blaster rifle can go up to short to medium range, the blaster also dose medium damage. This blaster requires Cad Bane to aim but it is not the difficult that he needs to concentrate his shots. It takes him about three seconds to pull them out of his holster and it takes only but a second to pull the trigger and fire. The blaster can over heat from overextend use it takes about 10 seconds for the blaster cool down and to be used again. Cad Bane carry's two of these blaster pistols in his holsters which are located on his belt.

Thermal Detonators: (300 OM)

The Blast radius on the detonators is 35 meters and they can be thrown at short range.

A Place like Home: Barren, Empty, but White.
Posted by: Vel'Koz - 06-06-2017, 12:47 PM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (2)

"This... This world..."

Vel'Koz squinted under the brightness of the Nexus, struggling to adjust. He looked around at the bare plains surrounding him, attempting to make sense of the lack of environment, especially since the entire thing is white.

"That creature was right, this is certainly not Runeterra... The energy shifts and coalesces in various different capacities. The gravity feels correct... But odd..." Vel'Koz noted, letting his left tentacle slowly move down and touch the blank ground beneath him. He quickly recoiled it as contact was made, noting the lack of texture in this barren landscape. "Hmm... Odd..."

Turning around to look at the structure behind him, the Fountain of Infinity, spewing crystalline water. As useful as water may be for other subjects, this was not the substance that the child had showed him earlier, so he turned back around and looked upon the distance. Focusing his eye, he looked upon the portals in the distance, noting them for further evaluation.

It then occurred to Vel'Koz to consider what he'd actually been told by the omnipotent subject. A colourful substance capable of fulfilling the wishes and desires of those who hold it. Omnilium. He first began experimenting with improvements to himself and other upgrades he could produce. His reserves were found to be too low.
Next, he attempted creating a portal to the Void, but his attempt fizzled out practically before he started. Realising his disconnect to the Void here, he decides to open a portal to a nearby area but that also quickly fizzles out.

"It seems I will require more Omnilium if I am to continue my experimentation in this category."

After making sense of his previous results, he attempted summoning, as considered to be an appropriate next step. Floating down to the ground and coiling his tendrils around in a circle, he rested on the ground, his larger eye closing while his other three eyes looked around.

Vel'Koz, as can be imagined, is not a creature that frequently uses transportation to move. But without frequent use of portals and a connection to his home, The Void, he would have to require other methods of movement if he is to travel efficiently. Without much inspiration for suitable transport, he looked upon the mindless creatures that inhabit his home plane alongside him.

And as such, after 7 minutes, a bestial Xer'Sai was born from his own mind. A creature of the Void. A snarling beast of a hunter standing at 9 foot tall on its hind legs, adorned with naturally-produced Void Crystals in which it stores its boundless energy. A horrifying monstrosity, more so than any animal, best suited to the spawnless sands of The Void or a desert, but still capable of carrying him quicker than he himself would normally move.

He quickly mounted the crystalline back of the creature, comfortably wrapping his tentacles around the creatures arms and shoulders, slotting his body behind the creature's head.
"Growl at my research subjects and I will be forced to euthanize you, Xer'Sai."
The creature snarled in response and set off towards the Western portal.

  Cirno (oswald switch)
Posted by: Cirno - 06-06-2017, 11:39 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (4)

Character name: Cirno
(This is after Oswald is done talking to Abyss and stuff mainly)
Character source: Touhou (from her first appearance onwards)(though what she looks like is the picture in physical description since she has multiple ones)

Character history:
Cirno is a Ice fairy. She is super arrogant. She considers herself the strongest of the fairys (still quite weak.) and her description says 9 baka (or nine idiot). She was taken to the Omniverse after the events of hidden star in four seasons. (Cirno doesn't have a bunch of back story to work off of she is more of a single track minded individual)

 Physical Description:

  Stats:
ATK:2
DEF:2
SPD:5
TEC:1

Starting Proficiencies: Ranged proficiency (1000), Area attack proficiency (600)
Starting Powers: Flight (1800), Master acrobat (400)

Starting Moves:

Ice Sign "Icicle Fall" (tier one super offensive) (600)
She stops moving and thrusts her hands outwards infront of her body creating a bunch of ice shards the size of a .416 barrett bullet. The shards move at a speed of a man running. And they split off in two directions (giving her notorious blind spot right down the middle). She becomes fairly exhausted (like running a bit.) and she has to keep her concentration at half since she is flying. (the area this covers is about fifteen feet, and the angle between them is about 20 degrees)

"Icicle Attack" (300) (requires ranged proficiency)
Cirno can create a single foot ball (American) sized icicle in each hand (to fire she has to put her hand/hands out wards and they will fire in that direction). The time it takes for this to make is about a second and they fly at the speed of a bullet. There is no actual ammo limit except if she becomes too exhausted. (the exhaustion and concentration are both like firing a gun.) The damage out  put is more like someone scratching you with a fairly old knife (not that sharp but can still harm). The effective range is about 15 feet. It can be used while on the ground or in flight. It can not be used with other moves.

Icicle Bomb (300) (requires ranged proficiency, area attack)
Cirno will hold both hands together for a max of five seconds (she has to wait the whole five seconds before letting it go or it resets.) using half of her concentration to create a bowling ball sized "bomb" its quite exhausting like running a marathon. The bomb will explode two seconds after leaving her hands hitting a area of fifteen feet in diameter. It sprays said area with small ice shards cutting and giving off a slight cold aura (aura is fodder right now). It moves at a speed of a man running, can be used while in motion with less accuracy. It can not be used with other moves since her hands are full.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yes!

Where did you find us? the number nine told me so.

  The Belly of the Beast
Posted by: Boba Fett - 06-06-2017, 11:08 AM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

"Boba Fett? Where?"

Fett's jetpack misfired as his long-time foe bumped into it, and he crashed into the side of the sand barge.

Concussion. Blackness.

Spiel from Omni.

This is the strangest concussion I have ever had...

A green and blue figure appeared over the fountain. He was falling back first, arms flailing. SPLASH!

Boba Fett sat up. He blinked his eyes and shook his head. The belly of the beast should have been pitch black, or close to it. Instead, there was blinding whiteness. Its digestive juices should be burning him and smell awful, but it felt like cool, spring water. Conclusion: The concussion must have knocked his senses out of whack.

The bounty hunter climbed to his feet as his eyes adjusted. A fountain took shape around him, and there were people moving about in the background. He heard the soft chatter of distant conversation. Things were worse than he thought. It wasn't his senses; his brain was scrambled. He smacked the side of his helmet but there was nothing. No communications. No sensor readouts. Either his electronics were dead or his brain was blocking them out. Or...

No. There was no way the afterlife looked like the inside of a stormtrooper helmet. Not to mention, there was no way the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy would die because some smuggler bumbled into him and knocked him down a hole. That would be the dumbest thing he had ever heard. Something else must be going on here.

He heard marching and turned. Stormtroopers. Excellent. Fett climbed out of the fountain and approached the men with the casual arrogance he had earned. "Officer, where are we?" he asked the ranking plastic head.

"Sir, please step back," replied the head trooper. The other four fanned out with two of them training their blaster rifles on the newcomer. "Please state your identity."

Fett took a step back, and his hand drifted toward his carbine. He was in no condition to cause trouble, however, and he relaxed. "Boba Fett. Imperial Bounty Hunter Registration DX-147836." As the trooper called it in, Fett scanned the area. Half the inhabitants looked to be human, the rest alien. There was more archaic technology around than modern. No ships in the sky and few speeders or other repulsor craft. Where was he?

"It's an older code, sir, but it checks out," said the voice over the comm.

"Alright, looks like you're one of the good guys," said the officer to Fett, as the other stormtroopers relaxed into a more casual formation. "You are in the Nexus. If you head west for about two hours, you will reach Coruscant. We can get you hooked up with some work and a place to stay. I suggest summoning a speeder, it'll be faster."

Coruscant? How did he get here? What was going on? At least he knew where he was now. The fountain must have been some new sort of Bacta. "I can't summon one. My comm's out. Can you call one for me?"

The storm trooper tilted his head. "Doesn't the big guy give you some kind of speech or something? That's what they told us in training," replied the confused officer.

"What big guy? I'm having a hard time remembering how I got here," admitted Fett. He didn't like saying it, but he needed help.

"Omni. The big white face in the sky? The grinning child?" offered the soldier.

Shit. That was real? "Yes, of course. Thank you, officer," stated the bounty hunter. The stormtrooper nodded hesitantly but moved on with their patrol, leaving Boba Fett to his thoughts. He held out his hand, and sure enough, a small, glimmering orb formed right above it. Was this the force? What in Mandalore? Fett concentrated some more. About ten minutes later he had a 74-Z speeder bike. He was pretty sure the force didn't work this way. But what the hell did he know? He climbed aboard his speeder and took off for Coruscant.

Things you believed as a kid
Posted by: Amaterasu - 06-06-2017, 07:57 AM - Forum: The Whateververse, Man - Replies (42)

What sort of thing did you believe when you were a kid, and in hindsight think it was pretty damn stupid? I'll start!

When I was a kid I believed that what happens in live-action movies actually really happens. I wondered what they did if they had to retake a scene where an actor gets killed, that has appeared in other scenes. Do they remake all those scenes with a new actor? And where do they get all those actors willing to be killed for the movie? (since where I live the death penalty was abolished, so they couldn't go to prisons and grab a few people on death row from there)
