Things you believed as a kid - Amaterasu - 06-06-2017 What sort of thing did you believe when you were a kid, and in hindsight think it was pretty damn stupid? I'll start! When I was a kid I believed that what happens in live-action movies actually really happens. I wondered what they did if they had to retake a scene where an actor gets killed, that has appeared in other scenes. Do they remake all those scenes with a new actor? And where do they get all those actors willing to be killed for the movie? (since where I live the death penalty was abolished, so they couldn't go to prisons and grab a few people on death row from there) RE: Things you believed as a kid - Handsome Jack - 06-06-2017 Before I got glasses as a kid I sincerely thought that no one could see each individual leaf on a tree. It amazed me to no end when I could see them all and I told my brothers about it. They nonchalantly replied that, yeah everyone can do that. RE: Things you believed as a kid - 2B - 06-06-2017 I thought I was normal and that I wouldn't get discriminated for my differences. Oh how highschool proved me wrong. (Oh and that one granny who came to me at an intersection like "Can't the doctors fix you? Oh what a poor soul you are." She continues to amuse me to this day.) Thank god people grow up from that level of retardation and idiotism. Most at least. #DarkReplies! RE: Things you believed as a kid - Jade Harley - 06-06-2017 I thought I could get away with never driving a car lol. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Dane Regan - 06-06-2017 I still think that, Jade. I thought that teachers lived inside the cupboards and under the tables at schools. After all, I never saw them go home because they had to stay around doing teacher things after classes ended, so naturally, my childish brain decided that they never went home. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Gaston - 06-06-2017 I thought that when mothers gave birth, they spit out their babies, like what Piccolo did in Dragonball. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Handsome Jack - 06-06-2017 The most common kid thing ever: that being an adult is the best because no one can tell you what to do, you can spend all your time doing fun things, and you have unlimited money to buy the stuff you like. Yup. I believed it. Sure wish i could go back to being a carefree kid again. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Tearen Wover - 06-06-2017 When I was just a lad, I thought that black people were black because they rubbed walnut shells on their skin to protect themselves from all the sunburns they would otherwise get in africa no i didn't know any black kids in elementary school how did you guess. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Gaston - 06-06-2017 STOP MAKING ME SAD. I WANT HAPPY THREAD! I USED TO THINK TO MAKE ANIMAL CRACKERS THEY SHRUNK DOWN ANIMALS AND COVERED THEM IN CRACKER. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Revan Noctis - 06-06-2017 I thought that people couldn't get more stupid, I was wrong. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Amaterasu - 06-06-2017 I believed that the world used to be black and white until some day color spontaneously appeared out of nowhere. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Desman Black - 06-06-2017 i believed my life begun at five years old. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Dane Regan - 06-06-2017 I thought if I magnetised all the cutlery in the house, I could use it to ride the Earth's magnetic field and fly or do something cool at least during dinner time. All that happened was some annoyance on my parents' part when they tried to take a couple of forks out a drawer and ended up carrying a small chain or assorted metal pieces. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Omni - 06-06-2017 I thought that men and women reproduced by kissing. The testicle 'egg' would rise from the ballsack, up through the body, and pass through the mouth and then down into the woman's stomach where it would gestate. It was a solid theory, but my parents would never confirm, deny or answer my questions like "so can a man only have two children?" I believed that Father Christmas was invisible. It was the only explanation, since I remember staying up all night and never seeing him, but my stocking was there when I got up. There's zero chance that I didn't remember falling asleep. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Handsome Jack - 06-06-2017 I legit thought the continental U.S. was completely surrounded by ocean. I actually thought something similar, back then I knew about the birds and bees but I didn't realize that sperm was a thing, so I thought that said "egg" would be inserted into the woman by the man, and the amount of testicles that they had said how many children they could have at most. I'll leave you with the mental image of what I imagined it was like for the dad of a family of 9 children that we knew... things had to be pretty packed between his legs! RE: Things you believed as a kid - Omni - 06-06-2017 I believed that all Americans were idiots. :frogbon: :frog: RE: Things you believed as a kid - Handsome Jack - 06-06-2017 Instead of just most? Also, not like the UK has much room to talk, Brexit. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Jim Raynor - 06-07-2017 I thought that a car would cost about $130. No idea where that figure came from, and suffice to say, my first car didn't cost that much. RE: Things you believed as a kid - Amaterasu - 06-07-2017 I believed that blimps, even the very big ones (like Battlefield 1 sized behemoth warmachines), that their balloon part is actually a single gigantic piece of tissue inflated with helium or hot air or something, like a hot-air balloon. I wondered how a military blimp would not go down when the first bullet, let alone tank shell or air missile, hits its enormous surface. And to my great shame I admit that it's been less than a year since I learned the full truth about what's under the cover... Thanks for that, Hellsing Ultimate. |
