I realized I have a question!
So Super Jumping allows you to wall/double jump. It also gives you a limit for each tier.
My question is whether or not there's a limit to the number of times you can wall jump. Could someone with wall jumping spam it to scale a skyscraper? Or are you limited to just one wall jump at the max jump height?
I ask this out of curiosity/clarification rather than the desire to have Proto Man suddenly decide to masquerade as Spider-Man

Since this never got posted, I thought I'd put it here. I have several attempts of this story of when my character Super Buu was in prison.
---
The court room could almost have passed for a coliseum. It was bowl-shaped, with stands on every side, and stairs leading down to a massive, currently empty ‘pit’. Whispers echoed from every corner; people from all walks of life seemed to be packed into the wooden stands. Their words were carried into the stone walls, up into the wide ceiling, and back around the stadium for all to hear. Words of eagerness, of apprehension – and most of all, condemnation.
The judge, sitting just above the pit, was the only one who contained his thoughts. But he, too, could be seen glancing to the door – like everyone else, waiting for something to happen.
Just as the murmuring in the room began to reach a crescendo, that thing happened. Loud footsteps began to echo from the room’s entrance, causing every person in the room to stop talking and turn their heads to the door. As it opened, the subject of their interest became immediately apparent.
Even if he hadn’t been accompanied by an entire squadron of Earth’s forces, the ‘man’ would have been striking. He was naked, save for a pair of large brown boots and parachute pants that were almost as tall as the room’s occupants. Keeping it suspended around his bare waist was a black belt, adorned by a golden buckle upon which a stylised ‘M’ had been branded.
Much more striking than his clothes, however, was his body. Bright pink skin seemed to glow against the dull wooden floorboards, and his red-black eyes burned into every one of the onlookers, as if to say ‘if I wasn’t bound by a power restrictor, I’d tear you limb from limb’. Unfortunately for him, he was bound by a power restrictor, and he did have energy rifles trained on him by a squadron of Earth’s finest. So he stayed silent.
All eyes were on the prisoner as the soldiers marched him down to the centre of the room. Looks of suspicion hurriedly became expressions of neutrality as he passed those next to the aisles. Though his arms were locked behind his back with a pair of katchin handcuffs, they didn’t want to take any chances.
Finally, the parade reached the pit, and spread out in a small circle. When all of them were inside, the leader gave a signal to the guards surrounding the room, and a dome of energy sprang up around the pit. With that, the judge began speaking.
“Super Buu, you stand charged with the murder of twenty-seven Dante’s Abyss officials. In addition to this, you caused damage to the laboratory in which you were revived--”
“I wasn’t revived.”
A gasp of surprise went up from the crowd at the alien’s interruption, followed shortly by mutters of disapproval.
The judge’s face took on a stern expression. “Please do not interrupt me when I am speaking.”
Buu shrugged. “I’m just saying, I wasn’t revived, I regenerated myself. Might wanna get your facts straight.”
There was silence for a moment, besides the ever-present whisperings of the court. The judge looked as though he was considering replying, but thought better of the idea – he’d read about how argumentative the subject could be. Instead, he merely continued.
“As I was saying, you not only stand accused of homicide, but property damage equalling several hundred thousand zeni--”
“Dante are bitching about that?” Buu wore a look of incredulity. “They probably made millions from all the ratings, not to mention merchandising. They’re lucky I’m not suing them!”
“Silence!” barked the judge. “The next time you interrupt me, you will be sent out of this court for disorderly behaviour.”
Buu crossed his arms mutinously, but said nothing.
The judge paused to take his breath, as if to steel himself for what was coming. “Given your actions, we have no choice but to punish you within the full extent of our power. Under the law for all constructs, magical or otherwise, when under liability you are the responsibility of your legal guardian – your creator.”
Buu felt an ice-cold chill go down his back. A whisper escaped his lips. “No … they wouldn’t …” His lamp-like eyes searched the audience for that face – the face of the one who created him. The face of the one he had once thought to be dead.
Bibidi.
Before Super even had a chance to locate the wizard, his fears were confirmed by that all-too familiar screech. “Hello, son.”
Buu whipped around, and his red eyes instantly locked onto the squat green figure now standing at the front of the crowds. His heart was now thudding so hard he could feel it even from the pocket dimension it was located in. He was cornered now – with ordinary humans, his power gave him a bargaining chip, but with Bibidi here … he was at the mercy of whatever punishment they chose.
Right on cue, the judge’s booming voice sounded out once more. “With the help of, and under the recommendation of your legal guardian, Bibidi, you are to be stripped of your magically-imbued abilities.”
That was all the encouragement Buu needed. He looked up at the judge for a few moments, his eyes burning into those of the wig-clad figure … and then laughed. “You think … you think if I’m going down anyway, I’m just going to lie still and make it easier for you?” He stopped laughing. “Fuck that.”
The construct acted before anyone could. In a flash of crimson, his head smashed into that of the nearest guard, the force of the blow knocking the human into the side of the stasis field. By the time the rest of the soldiers had aimed their guns, another two were down.
“Aim high, bitches!” Buu crooned. As a criss-cross of laser beams zoomed in his direction, the golem ducked, holding his katchin-bound arms up in the line of fire. With a sizzle and a clunk, his severed hands fell to the floor, along with the power-suppressing cuffs.
“Hehe …” Buu stood up slowly, pumping his arms in relish of their new freedom. Meanwhile, two new hands bubbled from their respective sockets. “You just made a big mistake …”
“Don’t worry!” barked one of the soldiers. “He still can’t use ki within this stasis field! Fire at--wha?”
The gun flew out of the soldier’s hand, and into Buu’s.
“Oh shit …” murmured one of the other men. “He’s magnetokinetic! The guns!”
All of their weapons were flying up in the air, out of the reach of the soldiers. In the middle of it all, and despite the overwhelming odds that faced him, Super Buu looked as though he was enjoying himself. He simply stood levitating the guns with a grin on his face, as if to say ‘go ahead, try something else’.
“Activate the electricity field!” roared the captain. “Get him like we did last time!”
Buu sighed and raised his palms up, as the electrical diodes around the pit began to whirr into life. “That’s not going to work.” The arcs of lightning shot towards him … and then doubled back on themselves. “I can control electricity too, remember?”
The captain cursed under his breath. “That bastard’s a lot smarter than he looks.”
“You only got me last time because I was off-guard,” continued Buu, clenching his hands. “Cheap move,” he added, clenching his hands, “but I’ll pay you back for it … right now.”
Nothing happened for a moment. Then the machines at the side of the pit began to spark. The only things that were keeping Buu from tearing them all to shreds were now overloading with electricity.
Needless to say, those in the stands who hadn’t already evacuated at this point were now running as fast as they could.
“Now it’s just you guys against me,” chuckled Supes, grinning around at the soldiers. “This stasis field really worked against you in the end, huh?” A translucent bubble was beginning to build up around the monster. “Now that I can use my ki again, I’d like to show you a little something I’ve been saving up. I call it … BUBBLE OF DEATH!”
With that, the bubble around the monster began to expand. The tables had turned – with the remaining space in the stasis field getting smaller and smaller, the soldiers had nowhere to go. Now they were at the mercy of the devil.
“Let me go!” boomed Super Buu’s magically-enhanced voice from inside the field. “Or all these men will die, right now!”
“This is your last chance,” came the wavering voice of the judge. “Stop now, before you utterly condemn yourself.”
The Bubble of Death expanded further. Every man in the field was now pressed against the sides, inches away from disintegration. “No, judgie, this is your last chance. If you want the deaths of all these soldiers to be on your hands, you will turn off the stasis field. Now.”
Buu grinned. From inside the bubble, he could see nothing, but he could sense the judge’s ki. It was wavering, the way it did when someone was uncertain. He was going to be free.
And then he felt it. The voice in his head. Release the Bubble of Death. Lie on the floor with your arms behind you.
“What …?” the bubble faltered. “Bibidi … get out of my head!”
Do as I say.
“FUCK OFF!” screamed Buu. His mind was ablaze. It was as though all his strength, all his rock-hard skin, had been stripped away to leave only his mind – bare and vulnerable. Pain assaulted him from every side, coercing him into submission. The sphere of energy was beginning to shrink, as he felt his consciousness beginning to collapse under the psychic assault.
That’s right. Just give up and this will all be over.
Buu sighed, dropping the last of his resistance as the soldiers pressed in. It was over. He’d lost.
The soldiers were filled with a mixture of confusion and relief – their once-godly foe was now lying on the floor, showing none of his trademark resistance. He was clearly down, but they wouldn’t be fooled twice – they had to make sure. Ignoring the futile pleads of the golem, they picked up their weapons. Blast after blast of stunning laser added insult to injury, until at long last they had been convinced. The once-proud construct was now a smoking body, barely alive on the floor of the pit.
Super Buu’s fate was now sealed. His life as a demi-god was soon coming to an end.

One year! One year ago today I opened the doors and began the Scramble, the Omniverse's first storyline. It's been a difficult year of growing pains - the rules have had to be iterated and clarified endlessly, I've edited "How to Join" more times than I can count. We've survived the lulls and endured the rushes. But still, after one year, we're really only just beginning. There's a lot more to come, and I hope you all stick around to take part in it.
You will have noticed a lot of new updates coming through in the last couple of weeks. The rules pages are looking pretty decent now, compared to when I first put them up in their current form, and especially considering that when I launched they were just forum topics. I've gotta thank Harry Dresden for first making the HTML versions, without which I probably still wouldn't have 'em up by now.
Courtesy of Proto Man, our resident historian and now de facto NPC guy, a great number of NPC pages have been completely revamped with a bunch of new ones added too. I advise you to check out all the major NPCs as most of them have already been completed. I'm sure you'll join me in thanking Alex for the huge amount of time and effort he's put into writing these histories. The Omniverse has always been about making a world that feels shared and interconnected, and this gives a lot more fodder when it comes to writing those NPCs and using them in your storylines. Bearing in mind that big shots like The Emperor, King Bradley and Aragorn are probably too busy to speak to plebs like you, we do want people to use these NPCs. However, please ask first! Making the world contiguous means keeping track of who's where and doing what, after all.
One of the bigger updates has been the introduction of the Ascendancy system. This means that, beyond Influence, you have an end-goal for all your storyline efforts in particular verses. Don't mistake this as just a gameplay reward. The biggest effect of the Ascendancy system is the potential to change the course of Omniverse history. Taking over a verse will be something that ripples through the entire Omniverse. Don't take it lightly.
But while these things are undeniably awesome, it's not as though we didn't have anything planned just for today. As of now, four unique artefact quests are open to join, taking place in Coruscant, the Dataverse, the Pale Moors and the Frozen Fields. That means four one-of-a-kind items are up for grabs for whoever has the guts to go and take them. Just be on your toes. Artefacts are not for the faint of heart. While they'll give you a unique power, depending on the artefact, they can be grabbed by anyone if they defeat you. Might be a good time to brush up on the recently-revised fighting and competition rules ....
Thank you again to Alex as the creator of all these unique quests. And don't think that those are the last quests you'll be seeing, either. These are only a small portion of what we've got planned.
Finally I want to say thank you to everyone who's joined and roleplayed over the last year. While we staff members get to be flashy and take credit for things, the members are the site. Whether you've been here from the beginning or you've just joined, here's a virtual high five from me to you for taking a look at the weird-ass premise and deciding to give it a shot. Your storylines are what make up the site, and I read pretty much every one of them. Here's to another year of great storylines. Cheers!

[float=right] [/float]Location/Role: Following his sacrifice inside the Underverse, Tyrael failed to reincarnate at the Fountain of Infinity. With the collapse of the Black Gate, the Underverse is now separated from the rest of the Omniverse, leaving Tyrael’s ultimate fate and current status unknown.
Story: Tyrael’s exact origins, much like his ultimate fate, are the stuff of legend in the Omniverse. The account that follows will seek to piece together verbal and written accounts of the man in order to create the most coherent narrative.
Tyrael arrived in the Omniverse around the same time as the first raids were launched from the Underverse. No one is exactly certain where the man went or what he did following his arrival. Tyrael first enters the history of the Kingdom on a fateful day when an entire garrison a few miles from Minas Tirith was ambushed during the night hours.
Terrified and unprepared, the defenders either fled or were butchered in their sleep. Out of nowhere, however, Tyrael charged head-first at them, his stern expression never wavering as he slaughtered the beasts. His act motivated the survivors to turn around and fight back, preventing the demonic raiding party from fleeing the field.
After this act of bravery and courage, Tyrael was brought to Minas Tirith. He was ushered into the private quarters of King Aragorn, where they discussed matters that have never been made public. Most speculate that Tyrael had information about Diablo. In the aftermath of the meeting, Tyrael left Camelot to continue his personal crusade against the demon of the Underverse.
For the next several years, Tyrael became something of a wandering legend. He seemed to appear whenever individuals were under attack by Diablo’s forces, but he never stuck around in the aftermath. Many farmers, nomads, and villages started to refer to Tyrael as a ‘guardian angel.’ There are even censored accounts of imperial troopers being rescued from certain destruction by a sword-wielding wanderer.
Fighting alongside Tyrael during a skirmish or battle became a badge of pride for many Kingdom soldiers. One of the most famous accounts is from Baron Victor von Magnus, who found himself trapped inside a cavern by a platoon of hellions. Before they could overwhelm him and drag him away to their master, Tyrael descended ‘as if from the heavens themselves’ into the heart of the demon’s ranks and started to strike them down with a holy fury. Throughout the entire conflict with Diablo, there isn’t a single account of Tyrael that doesn’t place him in a positive light.
It wasn’t until the Kingdom was on the verge of collapse that Tyrael arrived outside the gates to Minas Tirith with a message for King Aragorn: “I found the way.”
While he wouldn’t share the exact method, Tyrael claimed that he had discovered the means to bring Diablo’s reign of terror to an end. To do so, however, would require they enter the Underverse itself, a feat that none had dare attempt. Despite public backlash against the outlandish notion of marching an army to the Black Gate, King Aragorn pushed ahead with the plan, wholly trusting Tyrael. The king proceeded to call in every favor he had in order to amass a giant army comprised of natives from numerous verses. After several weeks, the army departed Camelot for Darkshire and the hellscape that lie between the city and the Black Gate.
The army suffered only slight losses at it crossed the Pale Moors. It wasn’t until they arrived at the Black Portal that Aragorn realized they’d been duped into over-extending themselves. From all around the army, DIablo’s forces enveloped them. Vastly outnumbered, the forces beneath King Aragorn fought valiantly to drive their way to the Gate itself. At the peak of desperation, the king’s inner circle made it to the Black Gate and entered the Underverse.
What transpired on the other side is up for speculation, because the four survivors choose to never speak of whatever hells they endured in the Underverse. All that is known is that the energies that held the Black Gate together imploded seconds after the King and his retinue returned, without Tyrael. The legend goes that Tyrael’s plan involved a self-sacrifice to seal away Diablo and the Underverse from the rest of the Omniverse.
Even though he has never been seen since the Battle of the Black Gate, Tyrael lives on in folklore. While never an egotist or someone who ever wanted credit for the good he performed, Tyrael lives on as a symbol of justice, freedom, and righteousness. Much like any religious figure, Tyrael has been used by countless groups as an icon or a role model. Strangely enough, there are known accounts of individuals with diametrically opposed political beliefs who idolize Tyrael for their own reasons.
While being banished has become an established part of the Omniverse and primes have often been banished for their beliefs, Tyrael is often considered the only true martyr. He is so revered that many theorize he could have even been a personification of Omni or that Tyrael’s second coming will usher in a new age of prosperity in the Omniverse, free from the inter-verse and inter-factional wars that plague it.

[float=right] [/float]Location/Role: Andrew Ryan is the founder of Rapture and the owner of Ryan Industries, which controls a majority of the city’s industry. Ryan is also the chairman of the city council and the owner of the Hephaestus Power Facility that provides the majority of the city’s electricity.
Ryan rarely leaves Rapture Central Control, the fortress-like building that houses controls for nearly every system involved in maintenance of the city. While Ryan can claim that the city is a meritocracy, his ‘nationalization’ of Central Control and ownership of the other major industries makes him the de facto despot of Rapture, a fact that many of the citizens are frustratingly aware of.
Story: Andrew Ryan was born in tsarist Russia near the end of the first decade of the twentieth century. As a young boy, he witnessed the violent overthrow of the tsar and the Bolshevik seizure of power.
Ryan's experiences under Soviet rule led him to his personal philosophy: the modern world was created by great men who strove to make their own way. Any time ‘parasites’ gained control of such a world, they destroyed it. The Soviets did so by ‘trading one lie for another,’ the autocratic rule of the Czar for the repressions of Bolshevism.
Thinking himself a ‘great man,’ Ryan fled Russia in 1919, arriving in America soon thereafter and anglicizing his name. As he came to age, Ryan adored his adopted country, seeing it as a place where someone of his intellect and talent could flourish through hard work and determination. This all began to change in the 1930s, when ideas of socialism and collectivism infiltrated America and rewarded those who didn’t deserve it. Ryan viewed Roosevelt and the ‘New Dealers’ as ‘parasites’ who were feeding America Bolshevik poison. Rather than allow the government to nationalize a forest he had purchased years prior, with many people telling him that ‘God put the forest there’ and that it should be a park. Ryan torched the forest to the ground.
For Ryan, the atomic bomb was the final straw. In the bomb’s creation and usage, he saw all the ideas of science, hardwork, and determination he idolized being used by ‘parasites’ to destroy what they couldn’t outright seize. Ryan set out on a plan to build the idea society, and he dedicated his entire life’s savings to this end. His goal was to create a community where ‘the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small.’ When it was finished, the city would be populated by the world’s greatest minds.
Before Ryan could see his plans come to fruition, he was called to the Omniverse. After his conversation with Omni, Ryan realized that, due to his talent and genius, he had been personally ‘raptured’ by a god. While he found himself without his previous means and connections, Ryan couldn't help but find himself awed by the tabula rasa this new world provided him.
Approached by envoys from the Empire, Ryan accepted an offer to work in Coruscant. Just as he had experienced in the twenties, Andrew Ryan enjoyed a period of productivity and happiness in the new environment, thriving under the freedoms he received as not only an intellectual genius but as a prime. In this Omniverse, Ryan truly was one of the ‘great men’ he had idolized as a youth.
Unfortunately, the situation soon soured, as the Empire tried to push Ryan to focus on their own agenda. Appalled at the notion of having to channel his brilliance to create war machines, Ryan stormed out of Coruscant, vanishing in the middle of the night. Imperial authorities caught up to Ryan in Costa Del Sol but failed to apprehend him before he slipped out of town. Vanishing into the Vasty Deep, Ryan wandered for a period of time before sightings of him stopped.
A few months after his exodus from Coruscant, reports came back that a city had appeared on the ocean floor. This beautiful underground metropolis was the a workers’ and scientists’ utopia. Drawing inspiration from his arrival into the Omniverse, Ryan named the city ‘Rapture.’ As Ryan predicted, the economy flourished and the city was politically stable. Science flourished, particularly after the discovery of ADAM in sea slugs. ADAM allowed for genetic manipulation on an astounding level but also resulted in crippling addiction that could lead to insanity. In his ignorance of ADAM’s potential, Ryan passed on a chance to have a controlling stake in its production. This in term led to Fontaine Futuristics acquiring the bid and the vast amount of wealth that came with the commercialization of ADAM and plasmids, especially once a large percentage of the population was addicted.
As time goes on, the dream of Andrew Ryan continues to thrive, but even to an observer, it is clear that cracks are beginning to form. As a society of so many ambitious and talented men and women, Rapture is very top-heavy. Poorer citizens of the city, many who were drawn to Rapture after its creation, suffer the worst. These citizens are then targeted by individuals pining for influence and control. Smuggling and black market sales of ADAM have also been on the rise. Tensions continue to mount in Rapture, with many believing that an armed scuffle may occur between Ryan and Frank Fontaine.

[float=left] [/float]Location/Role: While his official title is that of ‘Judge,’ Dredd’s role is far more complicated than that. He is a combination of a Chief of Police, a Grand Jury, a District Attorney, and a judicial executioner. To sum it up succinctly… Dredd is the Law.
While technically the boss for Coruscant’s stormtrooper and space marine defense forces, Dredd abhors deskwork. He prefers to micromanage, and he often logs more hours in the street than most of his subordinates. Chance encounters with Dredd aren’t uncommon, as he makes little effort to conceal his presence even while walking the streets of other districts. It is said that, in one week alone, there were fourteen attempts made on Dredd's life during his street patrols.
Like most of Coruscant’s inner circle, Dredd is rarely seen below Tier 4, because his presence incites too much violence.
Story: In the early days, some of Coruscant’s more affluent citizens and bureaucrats questioned the centralization of so much authority in the hands of a sneering, somber, almost robotic man who has never been seen in public or at the office without his full gear (it is widely believed and accepted that only three people have actually seen Dredd’s face). Their complaints soon fell to the wayside once they saw the effect Dredd had on crime. Overtime, it has been argued (with increasing believability) that Judge Dredd is the glue that holds the Empire together. Without him as the unyielding, unbiased fist of imperial law, most journalists and academics theorize that the Empire would descend into civil war.
The exact details of Dredd’s previous life are hard to piece together, mainly because very few individuals have succeeded in ‘small talk’ with the Judge. What is known about Judge Dredd is that his previous world was one where society had been devastated by some sort of catastrophe, with most hypothesizing nuclear disaster. In Dredd’s society, ‘Judges’ had come to prominence prior to this catastrophe to deal with a society growing increasingly violent and criminal. In the wake of the disaster, the Judge ruled what remained of society, the Megas-Cities. Dredd served a cadet when the disaster took place and became a full judge years afterwards.
When Dredd arrived in the Omniverse, it is said that he remained at the fountain for upwards of a week. It is unknown why exactly he didn’t venture out like many other primes, although when questioned about it years later, Dredd stated that he had no purpose if there were no laws.
The first individuals Dredd met was Emperor Palpatine, who regaled the judge with tales of Coruscant’s granduer and elegance. Seeing that the helmeted man was unmoved by descriptions of the city, the Emperor took note of the uniform he worse and confided in him the darker parts of Coruscant. As he spoke of the crime and terrorism that thrived in the city’s slums, the Emperor saw that Dredd was interested for the first time. With a grin, Palpatine lamented that oftentimes Coruscant was a place where laws were ignored.
Dredd’s first words were quite simple: “I am the law.” A smile adorned the Emperor’s visage as he took the judge back to Coruscant. Within a few hours, Palpatine made a public announcement that Dredd was the new leader of the city’s stormtroopers and the space marines, effectively making Dredd the overseer of Coruscant’s police force and military garrison. On top of this, the new ‘Judge Dredd’ was invested with absolute judicial authority. The new appointment was met with widespread discontent among the city’s poor, who were often the most prominent victims of the city’s rising drug- and gang-related crime.
As the city dealt with the threat of Diablo, Judge Dredd crushed down on growing crime rates on Tiers 2 and 3. More than Palpatine or Bradley, Dredd became the face of the all-powerful regime that ruled Coruscant. By the time Diablo had been pacified, organized crime and major felonies had vanished from the upper four tiers of Coruscant. In the processing of ‘improving’ Tiers 1, 2, and 3, the Empire concentrated the most vile, unstable elements of Coruscant into the lower tiers, with Tiers 5 and 6 turning into living ghettos over a few months as any citizen with the means to do so fled.
While Judge Dredd desired nothing more than to purge the bottom three tiers of crime, he was held back by the Emperor, who didn’t want to risk the men and materiel to wage a violent civil war. Instead, they allow the crime to thrive under the assumption that the turf wars, greed, and hedonism will keep the seditious elements of society in check.
As time goes on, Judge Dredd continues to remain one of the more enigmatic individuals in Coruscant (and perhaps the entire Omniverse). In Dredd’s eyes, he is doing the right thing by upholding the law, even if the laws are set down by individuals with potentially twisted morals. At the end of his shifts, he returns to his simple apartment to sleep until the next day. Unlike many of the other bureaucrats, there is no evidence that Dredd is a malicious or cruel-hearted man. He is just someone who is excellent at a job. It just so happens that his job involves lots of people, many of whom who are only guilty of opposing a cruel and heartless regime.

[float=right] [/float]Location/Role: Doctor Gero technically holds many titles, but the catch-all term would be ‘Mastermind of Research and Development.’ Since the earlier days of Diablo’s invasion, Gero has been responsible for some of the most abominable (yet effective) weapons of the Empire, whether they are biological, chemical, or mechanical. He has created everything from guns to pathogens.
Despite his prominence in the imperial hierarchy, Gero is the least public member of the ‘inner circle.’ He prefers to spend his time in his laboratories where he won’t be bothered by lesser minds or thugs.
Story: Before arriving in the Omniverse, Doctor Gero was the head scientist of the Red Ribbon Army, a large paramilitary crime organization that had a large portion of the world under its thumb. Prior to his ‘acceptance’ into the organization, he had been your run-of-the-mill engineering major. He had received high marks on all his coursework and tests, yet most of his professors tended to focus only on his academic qualities when reviewing him. Gero made little friends and appears to have been somewhat reclusive.
When Gero finished his doctoral-level studies in engineering and biological engineering, he worked for a small firm before he was released for unknown reasons. Rumors persist that several employees who were not on good terms with Gero became deathly ill. Whatever the cause, Gero was recruited by the Red Ribbon Army within days. In his capacity, Gero served as both a researcher and an engineer, designing and overseeing the creation of many of the army’s advanced weapons. With a college, he even managed to successfully create a synthetic human warrior.
The doctor’s passion, however, was weaving together mechanical projects and analysis of biochemical processes. In secret, he worked to design the perfect synthesis of man and machine.
For years Gero toiled away for the sake of the Army and its heinous goals. One day, the commander decides to start hunting down artifacts known as ‘dragon balls,’ for their ability to grant wishes. In the process of hunting down them down, the Red Ribbon Army crosses paths with a powerful young boy who proceeds to systematically destroy the Army, culminating in the death of most of the senior officers.
Always a survivor at heart, Gero slinks away as the facility is under siege by the child. Taking all of his years of research with him, the doctor retreats to a secret lab in the north that he had financed gradually. For fifteen years, Doctor Gero has the freedom to experiment as he sees fit, continuing his line of androids. At this time, he also branches out into other fields, by kidnapping a pair of orphaned twins and using them in his cybernetics trials. He ultimately seals them away when he is unable to suppress their rebellious free will.
With his eyes always on the young boy (now a grown man) who destroyed the Red Ribbon Army, Gero continues to chart the man’s phenomenal growth and that of his allies. By harvesting their DNA over the years, he completes his masterpiece--a biological construct based on the strengths and skills of the planet’s strongest warriors. Gero seals away the new experiment, as it will take years to properly grow.
At some point before he could execute his plans, Gero fell down in his lab and woke up in the Omniverse. He wandered to Coruscant, drawn in by the modernity and its familiarity to his own version of Earth. Fortune favored Gero, who was one of the handful of primes to arrive in the ‘first wave’ that took place years after the arrival of the first two primes. His genius intellect and wealth of knowledge helped him to immediately ingratiate himself with Emperor Palpatine and King Bradley.
As Coruscant suffered from occasional demon raids, Gero received carte blanche to design effective counter-measures. The doctor, now aided by the power of omnilium, designed line after line of terrifying mechs and biological agents aimed at repulsing the demons. Beyond that, he would also requisition corpses, captured enemies, and even wounded imperial soldiers to serve as guinea pigs for new ideas. Just as he had been fascinating with the genetic structure of his enemies, Gero was now fascinated with analyzing the DNA of the Omniverse’s myriad species and races. It is unknown just how many prisoners or wounded soldiers wound up in Gero’s hidden labs, but none of them ever left. When the war with Diablo ended, all the records of the operations were burnt, and any attempt to dig into the topic has become tantamount to treason in Coruscant.
Since the banishment of Diablo, Doctor Gero’s studies remain unimpeded by morals, supplies, or finances. While his main labs are on the First Tier, Gero maintains several facilities, some public and some secret, throughout most of Coruscant. The doctor continues many of his pet products, including synthetic humanoids and biological agents of terror. It is rumored that an outbreak of plague in the more remote villages of Camelot was caused by a pathogen created by Gero.
