  [26] - Doomguy
Posted by: Karl Jak - 05-17-2015, 09:52 AM - Forum: Dante's Abyss Records (2015) - No Replies

Appearance - Demon Killer

Personality – A hyper violent and paranoid soldier who's as abrasive as he is aggressive. His attempts to uphold some kind of moral stature, but is undercut by his own sadism. But despite having the outward personality of a bezerker, inside is a heroic and brave defender who would gladly save others at the expense of his own life. Might possibly be insane...

Possible Reactions –
As he joined Dante's Abyss in order to prove to himself that he is the destroyer of hell, as well as to others that he is capable in order to get their support, DG's first priority is winning rather than making friends. In a fight his instinct is to be the aggressor, trying to get an edge over his foes and then pushing the advantage. If there's a fight he knows he can't win, he'll try to avoid them until he can get the upper hand. While unlikely to team up with others, he would not backstab them but would not trust them to be as honorable

Relationships –
Guu - has talked to a few times before, once in a heated argument and another in order to bury the hatchets. Mostly just acquaintances.

‘Combat’ Style – Doomguy plays a tactical game of finding the upper hand on his opponents then striking hard and fast. He uses whatever he has as a weapon, from real weapons to tools and even the environment. He is also not against getting up close and fighting in hand to hand if need be. Against a group, he will go after the strongest for and then pounds them into submission then clean up the rest.

Eligible Powers – Survival

Moves – The Full Armory

Taunt (debuff):
Doomguy unleashes vulger insult and hand gestures as a means to draw the attention of his opponent and enrage them, in the attempt to get to make a wrong move in order to attack him. Generally draws all attention to himself and announces his presence when he does so, which could very well put him in bad situation.

Tier 1 super move: Plasma Gun:
Super heated globes of plasma rain down on whoever is under the sights of this advance weaponry. It cooks the insides of whoever is hit and leave a nasty gouge in the target as their body is melted. Sustained fire can kill most of anything, but overheating can also harm DG and requires cool down after every burst.

(a second super move will be added at a later date before the game starts)

Extra – Three and a half minutes of Doomguy being a badass (gore). If he's about to go out, he'll try to take his attacker out with him.

Quotes –
"Go fuck yourself!" with complimentary middle fingers
"It'll take more than that to kill me"
"Now we're cooking with gas"
"Rip and Tear! RIP AND TEAR!"

  **DEAD26**[25] - Jak Mar
Posted by: Karl Jak - 05-17-2015, 09:49 AM - Forum: Dante's Abyss Records (2015) - No Replies

[float=right][Image: 200_s.gif][/float]
Personality – Jak is a jerk with a heart of gold. He is one with the dorky lines but piss him off and things will get very serious fast. Jak is a calm and somewhat mature man but he's purely a jerk.

Possible Reactions –Jak enters for the fame, and the chance at Om. He's been betrayed so many times it's not even funny. He still stands though. Jak is now extremely cautious for those friends hiding a secret betrayal, but his list of enemies is even bigger. It's hard being a hero. At a potential loss of his allies, Jak will get angrier and angrier turning into Dark Jak.

Relationships – Jak has met Seraph for a short time in the Nexus while passing by with Daxter by his side.

‘Combat’ Style – Jak's known for his fiery head first attitude. He won't hesitate to throw the first punch if necessary.

Eligible Powers –Master Acrobat

Moves – Level 0 Super Move - Quick Charge (Requires Physical strength, and quickness) Jak can run and stand to aim a strong punch with a quick boost.

Extra – Jak isn't known to kill somebody but he does leave people to die.

Quotes – "I'm gonna kill Praxis!"
"You look like a reasonably smart man. I want information! Where the hell am I?"
"It's been a tough ride."
"You know what? Do it your way and I'll do it mine. Just don't come crying to me when the walls fall down."
"Kill Metal Heads? Get toys? Sounds good to me."
"Precursor Stone, gun, nest. (Activates gun) HAHA, eat this!
Don't touch it Daxter! Who knows what more Dark Eco will do to you.
I'm through saving the world.
To the end.
Let's go topside and see what kind of trouble we can get into.
Go back to the city Dax.
I thought you said a smart warrior never takes his opponent head on.
Dark? Dirty? Dangerous? I'm beginning to like this war.
(In disgust of Daxter's and Tess's talk) Oh please! Will you two take it outside!

  Beach Thread Bucket List
Posted by: Darth Vader - 05-17-2015, 07:11 AM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (18)

Just behind DA, I'm also pretty excited for the Beach Party thread. Mainly because it allows me to catch characters I'll probably end up missing during the pre-show and get to still interact with them but in a sillier, more comedic and relaxed kind of way.

Since nobody's yet made a thread about this, I thought I'd start us off. Just list below things you wanna do and characters you want to try and interact with.

Here's my own list;

Build sand castles with Deadpool.

Have a beer and a chat with Doomguy.

Go windsurfing with Shay.

Recite goth poetry with Samus and Sasuke.

Play volleyball with Gilgamesh and the New Babylon crew.

Exchange war stories with Atelos over a campfire.

Have a mock sword duel with Link (not with real swords, of course. With sticks or something)

Do some weight liftin' with Ganon.

Also wanna try and interact with Whirda and Trixie if either of them are there but idk how.

  Top Prize
Posted by: Ganondorf - 05-17-2015, 04:41 AM - Forum: Dante's Abyss Junkyard - Replies (58)

I discussed this a bit in chat, but I wanted to see what the folks in the game thought as well.

The top prize is a variable Artefact which YOU can create. Obviously this allows you to either bring in some flair from your own universe, or to make something unique that you'd like your character to have. The following is what -I- would do if I won that Artefact. There's two versions, a super-powered one, and a less powerful version. If you're feeling up to it, post your own "wishlist".

The Triforce of Power: This Artefact allows its holder to double their Atk stat at an SP cost of half their unmodified Atk stat per Post. It can be used in conjunction with Power-Ups and items, but will use the "powered-up" value rather than the lower one.

The Triforce of Power: This Artefact grants its holder a +3 to their Atk stat and a +2 to their Def as a passive upgrade.

And bear in mind that both of these are just things I'd LIKE to get. Obviously they'd require approval from the staff first, for balancing purposes.

Scenes That You Want, Even Though You Shouldn't
Posted by: Harry Dresden - 05-17-2015, 03:48 AM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (74)

Is there something that you want to have happen, even though the odds of it actually happening are astronomically low? What is it?

I have a couple: I want Neku and Ed to get into a fight over who turns their arm into a sword better, I want Harry Potter to join so Harry Dresden can be like "aww he thinks he's a wizard, that's cute", and I want someone to bring in Nic Archelone from the Dresden Files so that Harry has a true antagonist, much like Ganondorf and Link.

  Interlude
Posted by: Negi Springfield - 05-17-2015, 02:07 AM - Forum: The Tangled Green - No Replies

There was no end to the blinding light. The pristine white climate was endless, infinite in its uniformity. Negi couldn't tell if he was making any progress. There has to be an exit...Right? He knew he was dreaming, but try as he might, he couldn't seem to wake up. He had lost track of how long he had been walking. Negi didn't know why he was walking, only that something bad would happen if he stopped. He was tempted to stop, if only to break the monotony. Behind him, a wave darkness flooded the place. It caught up to him, and then he was falling...

...hitting the floor with a loud thud. Negi woke up abruptly. The pain in his side flared up, reminding him of the fight with the orc in the forest. He had hoped it was all a dream, but if it was a dream, it was an extremely elaborate one. He turned his thoughts to more practical matters. Where am I? The last thing he remembered was passing out somewhere in the forest. Negi picked himself up, carefully. He looked around and saw that he was in a small room. There was nothing in the room save for the bed and a small table. Judging from the light that entered the room's sole window, it was some time in the afternoon. Who brought me here?

Negi walked slowly to the door, into a living room. His injuries had mostly healed, but his legs were weak from disuse. How long have I been here for? He saw his cloak hanging on the back of a chair. It was shredded from the fight and its previously white color was stained with blood and grime. Negi thought back to how he summoned his staff and he tried to do so with the cloak, thinking back to how it looked before the fight. After three long minutes, a white cloak appeared. He put it on and exited the house. Outside, he saw some people bustling around. There were others just standing around, staring down at phones. Not one seemed to be older than twenty. Negi also saw neat rows of houses. Most of the houses were painted brown, but some of the houses had been repainted or graffitied with rich vibrant colors that clashed with the overall monotony. One of the teens, dressed in gothic blacks, saw him and came over, introducing himself as Farrell. "What's your name?" he asked.

"Negi. Where am I?"

"This is the town of Ambrosia. Our princess, Guu, brought you here several days ago. You looked pretty bad when she brought you in. What happened?"

"I got in a fight with an orc."

Another teen came up to Farrell and whispered something to him. Farrell nodded and the other teen left. "What's going on?" asked Negi.

Farrell headed towards the forest and Negi followed along. "Patrol. Ever since the adults left, there has been an increase in attacks from orcs and the like. We do live in the forest after all. If you want, you can come along."

"I'd like to come along. What do you mean by since the adults left?"

"They left before Gilgamesh and Guu fought. Don't you know? It was all over the Dataverse a while back."

"The what?"

"Dataverse." Farrell pulled out what looked like a phone. "You know." Negi gave him a blank look. "You don't know? Were you born under a rock?"

"I was brought to this place several days ago by an Omni. I don't remember much of what happened before."

"You're a prime?" Farrell stopped walking and looked at Negi with respect. "Wow. I never thought I'd get to meet another prime." He saw Negi's confusion and explained. "Primes are those summoned directly by Omni. Everyone else is a secondary. Primes are naturally more powerful and can summon anything they want. Are you going to fight in Dante's Abyss?"

"What's that?"

"It's a fighting competition created for primes. Here. I'll show you." Farrell fiddled around with his phone. "This is it." Negi watched the advertisement for the competition. Their slogan - Are you strong enough to survive - struck a nerve. There was voice telling him to join. He had faced down stronger enemies before, hadn't he? Have I? He wasn't sure. And there was no risk of dying, as Omni had promised that he would be reborn. "You might remember something from his past", a little voice in his head told him. That sealed the deal.

"I'll join."

"You better hurry up and get going. I think registration is almost over and you need to get to the gate to register. I'll finish patrolling on my own."

"How do I get to the gate?"

Farrell pointed a small, barely visible path. "Follow the path and you should get there in an hour or so."

"Thanks." Negi called out over his shoulder as he started down the path.

  Let's Read: Book Club #15
Posted by: Sarah_Kerrigan - 05-16-2015, 09:22 PM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (11)

Just Some Regulations:

  • Please follow all site OOC rules to the letter.
  • Format can be whatever you'd like providing that you follow these rules.
  • This shouldn't need to be said, but please be respectful and offer positive comments. Negativity in any form is highly discouraged. While pointing out all the errors may seem useful 'to you' it certainly doesn't make that person feel good. There are ways to help someone improve without nitpicking. As a rule of thumb try to have 5 Positives for every 1 Negative (courtesy of resident teacher protoman).
  • The above doesn't mean you can't criticize, but there's a way to do it without being negative. For example, make suggestions, don't say something about the topic is 'wrong' or poorly written. Maybe point out a confusing section and suggest revising it for instance, or even offer what you think may have worked better in that situation. Additionally, you could offer to proofread a member's next post for them: be helpful instead. Positive reinforcement will keep people writing and reading here.
  • While you're free to develop your own way of critiquing and commenting, I wouldn't recommend making a 'scoring' scale. This isn't competitive and you're not grading topics. Instead, only offer advice and comments in whatever format you wish. Maybe offer directions the Plot can go from there (whether that is into a new topic or not).
  • As there is a flat rate of 100 OM for participating, I feel I need to include this: please do not skim, thoroughly read before posting. If you skim, especially the wordy topics, you're likely to miss a lot. In addition, please put actual effort into your written responses. I don't want to have to put up a word count requirement for these; so please don't make me question whether or not you have actually tried to help a fellow member, or if you're just trying to get easy OM.
  • OM is a nice incentive but if this starts to be abused, I doubt it will continue to be a reward. Do not abuse this for easy OM. I highlighted that above already, but it deserves a separate bullet. Seriously don'tPlease.
  • As a final point: yes you can offer suggestions as to what topics you would like to be included here next. I have no problem with that if you happen to be dying to read a given topic but need some excuse to do so.
  • These regulations should be copied and pasted into every new Book Club topic (in case I don't do it for some reason).

This Club's Player Picks
Sarah's Pick:
Primordial Weapon
You only have to read from the post I linked until the end of the battle. My opinions are already out there in the form of the judgement I did for the fight, but I'm sure everyone that particpated would love to hear from the rest of the member base as well.

That's all happy reading~

Permission to use Judge Dredd to interview Trixie for her new position in the Imperial Military? I was thinking they have a very short hand to hand spar where he knocks her the fuck out, but approves of her enlistment.
