Character history: Belle comes from an alternate Earth that is quite unremarkable, where nothing much happens of note, and superheroes only exist on the pages of comic books.

Belle grew up the ordinary daughter of an ordinary husband and wife, living in an ordinary town . She was neither rich nor poor. She was terrible at sports, adequate in academics, and prefered to slack off, putting assignments on the backburner until the last second.

The one thing that made her stand out was her temper, one which only showed itself rarely, and usually to protect someone else. Instead of ignoring when a student picked on another, Belle would always insert herself into the confrontation, often with violent results. She found it impossible to explain to the school's faculty, her friends, even her parents why she did what she did. Explaining would mean talking about something she wanted dearly to keep private: a precious memory she had kept secret for years. So she endured the scolding, the occasional suspension, and the scratches and bruises.

Perhaps it was this quality that piqued Omni's interest. Perhaps the Godlike being simply chose her at random. Or maybe he saw something else - a potential yet unrealized. Whatever the reason, she found herself whisked away from her ordinary existence.

Physical Description: Slightly below average in height for her age, Belle has a head of bright red hair that falls to her waist in one long ponytail. Her eyes are blue, large and bright, the color of the sky in high summer. Belle tends to wear a variety of clothes, mostly whatever she feels like on that particular day. Sometimes that means sweat pants and a t-shirt. Sometimes that means a dress with a miniskirt.

Dr. McNinja sighed and rested his chin on his palm as the other Knights laughed at him.

"Durr..." one of them mocked, "Lunch time? Hammer time? Miller time?"

The whole table roared in laughter. Doc's chin slowly slid off the palm and down his forearm. Another Knight decided to chip in.

"And - and then just... POOOM! Lightning! And then he just goes FLYING!"

The Knights laughed again. Several imitated what it looked like on the screen, making explosion sound effects with their mouths and miming the body flying with his hand. Another Knight slammed the table, having thought of something hilarious.

"And-and the Mr. T doll! You just freaked out so much, man! It's just a doll-"

The rest of his sentence was drowned out with the loudest laughter of all. It was noisy. It resonated through the Cygnus Knight dining hall. Well, at least they were happy, right?

But now they were making fun of Mr. T.

Dr. McNinja stood up. The other Knights giggled.

"What," one of them jeered, "You gonna forget an omelette at us?"

Many laughed. Doc then drew his katana and slammed the blade into the table.

THUNK

That got everyone's attention. Doc glared at all of them. He cleared his throat and said, "Don't you think that's in bad taste?"

Seven simple words sent ripples of remorse through the crowd. Many frowned, as if confused. Clearly, they were not emotionally prepared for that kind of reaction. Some even snorted, obviously at the shame of having laughed at the tragic fall of a brave hero.

"You mean..." a Knight snickered, no doubt ironically, "The Mr. T doll."

"Damn right I mean Mr. T! He was... Just... He was..."

Dr. McNinja felt a flood of emotions wash him away. He was drowning in the useless tears of his penitence, and in blood, which wasn't actually blood, because it was just polysynthetic stuffing. In this torrent of remorse, Doc had to wipe his eyes again with another flask labelled "Ninja Tears". He was running out of vials.

"I'm sorry, I... I have to..."

Doc pulled out the katana and sheathed it. He left the table in a hurry, and mourned for the morality of mankind as he heard them laughing again.

Dr. McNinja walked in the woods. The trees grew like mangled hands, reaching from the ground in a scramble for dank sunlight. This was not a particularly happy part of the forest, and it seemed to be always dark. Probably best for some of the more nocturnal creatures here, like owls, bats and...

The tree that Doc was passing was now decorated with a very intricately designed and distressingly sharp shuriken. McNinja had a second to process this, then leapt into the air and ran up the trunk of a tree, avoiding at least sixteen other throwing stars. He deflected two with the katana he had drawn out of instinct, then landed on a branch and took cover behind the trunk.

"And ninjas," Doc muttered.

Oh, how he'd LOVE some help right now.

Hello! So, I'm going to be trying to start a kind of in-character group that is going to shape the way my character approaches things in the Omniverse. The concept of the Exiles (the comic Blink is most known for) is that they are a team of heroes from different timelines and dimensions that go around saving the multiverse from threats.

I'm going to be doing the same thing here, where Blink makes the Exiles into a kind of detective agency. But it doesn't have to be just solving crimes - it's just a group of people that are available for hire to take care of business. It's going to be Blink and then I'm also going to have a handful of (mostly) original NPCs that kind of rotate in and out. I'm going to buy myself a base after DA for this as well.

I want to use this thread to let people know when I'm planning on doing different storylines/cases for the Exiles and I would love it if some people were up for joining in. I don't need any blood oath or other commitments from you. People can pop in just for a couple roleplays or they can hang out for entire storylines. I'm also going to put a Dataverse advertisement up in case people want to actually hire the Exiles themselves.

Is anybody interested in anything like that? Again, I don't need any commitments now. I'm going to be spending the first week or two getting it set up. But I'd love to hear any ideas and also see who might be up for peeking into the Exiles in the future. This is a long term thing for me so there's no expiration date on the offer.

Before he could even see, he could feel the heat. As Zack emerged from the portal he was blasted by both the thick, ashy air of the Ashen Steppes and the immense heat that seemed to be coming from everywhere. Immediately he began coughing, because in his surprise at seeing such a radical landscape he ended up inhaling a fair amount of the debris that was blowing in the wind. He stumbled a few steps forward, beating his fist against his chest as he coughed and finally spit out a blackened wad of gunk. He cleared his throat and stood up straight, looking at the expanse. The red sky was ominous and clouded. The landscape was nothing but blackened rocks and mountains, and the occasional lava pools or streams he could see. The mountain range made it difficult to see terribly far, but one mountain obviously stood out above all the others.

"They didn't think to warn me this place might be dangerous, too?" Zack asked aloud to no one as he remembered his conversation with the soldiers from Camelot.

He squinted a bit, and held his hand flat above his eyes as he spied what appeared to be some wildlife in the distance. One in particular stood out. It looked like a small, thin dragon that was flying around, looking for something or someone to devour most likely.

"'Not the world you know'...'Do not fear death,'" Zack repeated the strange overlord of this land's words aloud to himself.

As he said that, he was walking towards a cliff face. He crouched down for a second, and then with a powerful jump scaled the sixty foot cliff with little trouble. He landed at the top, now with a much better view of the area. Of course, it still looked like more mountains and lava, although he thought he could make out something resembling a settlement in the distance. Brushing it off for now, he looked back at the small dragon creature he'd spotted earlier. It couldn't have been more than twelve feet long from it's head to the end of it's tail, and certainly wasn't all that wide either. The creature was flying around under the cliff, wandering somewhat closer in it's search for food. He was happy to know he still could jump like he had been able to in his previous world, but he wanted to make sure all of his other abilities were intact. Zack had to smile. Born and raised in the remote town of Gongaga, this country boy was a hunter at heart. What better way was there to test oneself? He picked up a sizable rock in one hand, looking down to the dragon with a grin.

"Well, let's be interesting," Zack said to himself as he continued to think of Omni's words.

Character history: Otto Wellworth is all about value. As the only bard for hire in the realm, he believes his services should provide paying adventurers with a little bang as it were, for their buck. Whether it's empowering his companions with thunderous song, or entertaining them with explosive riffs from his spectral guitar, creative ballistics is the name of Wellworth's game.

Specializing in area-of-effect crowd control and buff tactics, Wellworth feels most at home charging into battle against hordes of small enemies. In a mercenary capacity, he frequently accompanies groups of adventurers on spectacular quests to the far-reaches of the realm, blasting and strumming his way to glory (and having a hell of a good time along the way).

Enemies who hear it become struck by great sorrow, slowing their reaction time and imposing lethargy as they question the struggle and why nothing ever seems to go their way. The effect lasts roughly ten seconds.

Spectral Guitar: Rock and Roll (600 OM) Requires Area Attack Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency

Wellworth strums a complex rock and roll chord on his spectral guitar, sending waves of explosive energy forward in a twenty foot cone. Beginning in front of him, the ground begins to rumble and tear, rolling forward to knock down anyone in the affected range. At the end of the cone a pillar of earth erupts from the ground, extending ten feet into the air and flinging any unfortunate souls skyward.

Spectral Guitar: Trance (300 OM) Requires Area Attack Proficiency, Debuff Proficiency, Ranged Proficiency

Wellworth strums a complex chord on his spectral guitar, sending waves of enrapturing energy twenty feet in every direction. Enemies who hear it become entranced, unable to move as long as the music continues. Maintaining the music causes Wellworth great physical stress, maxing out at about fifteen seconds before he collapses.

The Berserker's Anthem (300 OM) Requires Ranged Proficiency, Buff Proficiency

Wellworth launches into bellowing song, inciting a berserker rage in all nearby allies. Those affected by the anthem become mindlessly violent, lashing out at all nearby enemies with no regard for their own safety. They feel no pain and won't quit until the effect wears off, all enemies are dead, or they die themselves. While Berserker's Anthem provides no tangible increase to stats, the ferocity it instills may take enemies off guard, allowing those affected to break through defenses and deal additional damage. The effect lasts roughly 20 seconds.
