  Claraina Carine
Posted by: Guest - 06-23-2015, 05:52 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (2)

Character Name: Claraina Dramorin Sumoon Carine

Character Source: Original

Character History
Claraina is the result of numerous centuries' worth of genetic assimilation and intentional evolution on the part of her father and other siblings, a portion of her genetic malleability coming from her Destinan heritage; the Destinans are an incredibly long-lived and winged species whom possess, among other powers, the capability of breeding with practically any humanoid species that reproduces sexually.

Evolved and powerful as she and her family have become, they all are prone to exploring their native universe and other realities, always looking for new knowledge, genetics and experiences. It was this evolutionary and exploratory nature that caught the attention of the powerful being known as Omni that stole the child away to his own realm for reasons known only to him.

Physical Description
[Image: Raina_zpsb2c8cdd1.jpg]

Claraina's eyes sparkle like rubies while her hair flows with the color of blood, its healthy shine often making it appear as though liquid in the right light. Despite her propensity for wearing short-sleeved and legged apparel and dresses her skin maintains a very soft cream color. Facially she shares many similarities with those of Asian descent, giving her a very fair and almost fragile appearance. Her canines are slightly elongated but no more sharp than a Human's.

The Reckoning, Day 1

The rotting sense of doom hung in the air. A man with a white collared shirt moved his sleeve to check the time. It was Monday and 8:00 AM showed on the analog screen with a bright and captivating gleam. He took pride for a moment, relishing this little thing, his ability to check the time in so simple a way.

He had arrived on time, and was ready to get to work, his office cubical, a four-by-four makeshift office in a room of others just like it. Just like him.

The incessant humming of the copier machine, the never-ending pluck of clicking keys, and the silent trod of executive women stomping in their heels, all filled his ears as he defined the saying, "Just another day at the office."

He sipped his coffee, cream and sugar, every day, from his Starbucks mug with a green mermaid labeled on the cup's cream colored face. Every time he took a swishing sip, it almost resembled the mermaid's flipping tail, motivation and drive thrilled his bones as he began to fall into the toneless rhythm of work.

"Hey Stewart, you got those papers in?"

Stewart set down the cup and gulped down the last lavish sip from his mouth before fumbling with his hands as he crinkled papers and in a few swift motions made quick chaos of his desk that had already been in disarray. Stewart began to sweat, he took his work too seriously.

"Hey man, take it easy, I'll need them in like, fifteen. You think you'll have them by then?"

With a nod, Stewart worked hard as he approached the deadline....

Finally with his shift done, he was set loose. The trusty screen on his wrist read:

5:01

As the man hopped into his car and felt the silent thrum of life come to his car after he had stirred the ignition. First the store, then the cleaners... Unless I could get take out tonight? Eh.. Sam's is open till ten, so I can always decide later.

He went over his list and began to fulfill his after-work mission: Grocery shopping. Clarrissa, his fiancé, had scribbled a list together which he had stored in his pocket all day. It had melted with the warmth of his pants, yet he unraveled it without too much soggy tear at the edges. Her penmanship revealed the usual, milk, eggs, peanut butter... Stewart flicked his wrist.

5:27

There was just enough time to get to the cleaners, and then put the baby to sleep. He proceeded to grab his mundane items and entered the check-out.

In the corner of the room, hanging on the wall, the looming hands hung, grappling with Roman numerals and looming over their edges with sharp arrows.

Action hastened as Stewart heard the sirens perpetuating down the street, streaming through red stop lights. One person left without paying for a cart-full. Then another. Another.

Stewart scoffed. People really should pay for their groceries, and be law abiding citizens. His ordered thoughts, like the stacks of paper on his desk, waiting there for him tomorrow were interrupted by the shrill scream of a woman, holding a little girl.

"RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!"

Emergency! Yes, but no fire alarm had been pulled. Next thing he knew, he was rushing out the store and into his Tesla car. In the chaos, he checked the time a memorable 5:43 hung within the edges of the cube frame.

Lisa was on his mind, yet dread and fear weighed the same, if not more powerfully than love. The parking lot was jammed, and creatures straight from lore were haunting the horizon in the distance. People ran screaming, car doors closed and opened, children wailed at the police sirens that came from every direction. Someone banged on the window and offered him direction. Stewart saw that the creatures were breaking into cars and, valuing his life, bolted from his Tesla to the only thing around. The grocery store.

... (Time skip)

"Do you think it will work?"

"Listen man, I saw this in a movie once, everything is gonna be alright." One grocery clerk assured him.

"Who the fuck are you, Bob Marley? His arm's about to get sliced off!" Another voice shouted as they huddled around Stewart, a sleeve of his white shirt had been torn and bloodied. They were about to preform emergency surgery around the fresh teeth marks embedded in his skin.

Stewart's eyes remained on the silver, gleaming beacon of hope. It shattered with the splat of his newly amputated limb. Priorities superseded the immediacy of pain that had yet to translate into reality. His screen had cracked and he watched the disembodied piece of him fall to the ground from his position. The weight of his hand fell with a single swiped motion and Stewart helplessly reached out with his remaining hand as he shouted in despair.

"NOOO MY WATCH!!!"

[spoiler]

Quote:
The above is kind of just a satire "poking fun" to someone who would spend 600 dollars on a watch (sorry).

I framed this storyline around the single ending line of dialogue, that amused me that he cared more about the watch (which can be interpreted 1,000+ different ways) than his own arm. I thought it would be nice if the armless had a name, and the intro just escalated into a shorter segment. The point: It's implied that he likes the status symbol, but with the whole "zombie apocalypse" happening around him, survival is one's first goal and status doesn't really matter, yet - ever a human - the man loved his gadget, even in the end. It's kind of tragic, perhaps even a mis-placed hubris complex, but most of all it is just a little ironic.

  Joining Form; Dean Winchester
Posted by: Guest - 06-23-2015, 02:32 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (9)

Character name: Dean Winchester

Character source: Supernatural

Character history:
Dean was brought up with his brother Sam to do one thing and one thing well. They would hunt all the evil things that lurked in the shadows, things the rest of the world thought were just stories. They fought monsters, demons, angels, and even gods.

Dean himself had been through a lot. The loss of a mother, the loss of their father later on, death, rebirth, stopping the apocalypse, gaining and then losing a family of his own, Leviathans, Purgatory, and finally a heavenly civil war. To make this finally one worse there was Abaddon thrown into the mix. The first knight of hell was almost impossible to kill and this led to Dean accepting the mark of Cain and finding the first blade.

After killing Abaddon he went to confront an Angel named Metatron in an attempt to end the angels civil war. This did not go well and ended with Dean dying. His body was carried off by his brother to a bunker and while Sam went off to find a way to bring his brother back Dean was paid a visit by Crowley. The self proclaimed “King of Hell” was there to witness Deans rebirth. The mark had taken hold of this Winchester and had turned him into that which he hated most, a demon.

Intending to follow Crowley and enjoy his new life Dean was whisked away by a being called Omni the moment he stepped foot out of the bunker.

Physical Description:
Dean is 6'11 with short brown hair, an athletic build, what seems like permanent stubble, and green eyes that he can cause to go completely black at will. He is most likely to be found wearing dark coloured biker boots, blue jeans and several layers of shirt. Simple, practical and hard wearing is the key for his wardrobe. He has a solar pentacle tattoo on his chest to protect against demonic possession, which is funny to him now as he is a demon basically possessing his own body. Numerous old scars from a lifetime of hunting that include various knife related injuries, burn scars, and a bullet hole in the left shoulder. All these wound were pre-demon and therefor not healed after his transformation.

First Blade (300 OM) The First Blade is a jawbone of a donkey that is connected to the Mark of Cain. The blade itself is about one foot in length and the hilt is simply just part of the bone that was been wrapped in leather. It is generally carried sheathed on Deans hip. When he holds this blade in hand Dean seems to get angrier and prone to attack for even the smallest slight.

  Kathleen Vierte - {WIP}
Posted by: Cat Vierte - 06-22-2015, 06:39 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (7)

Character name: Kathleen Vierte (Cat)

Character source: Original

Character history: Cat gained a very severe case of amnesia when she was kidnapped from her home world while she slept, to the extent of even forgetting her name. At one point she was simply a normal child, albeit slightly odd, living in a world where there were only super powers and magic in stories and children's tales. She assumed, when she found herself in the omniverse, that she was simply dreaming because she could only remember the first syllable of her name and how to function.

Physical Description:
Cat is a fairly average looking sixteen year old girl by her own definition, not seeing herself as very pretty because she tends to be overlooked and blends in with the background.
Her hair is cut short to just above her neck and curls out at the ends naturally. It has a bright pink colour that fades towards the tips slightly. She generally has it tucked behind her ears although sometimes she uses a headband or pins it back with hair clips.
Cat's skin isn't pale or dark, nor even tan, but rather somewhere between tan and pale, spotted with freckles. Her nails are always clipped short unevenly because she bites them, but sometimes they will have scratched-off nail polish instead. Cat has a relatively slender hourglass form, standing at about 5'4 and weighing just over 140lbs. She isn't very thickset, but she isn't stick thin in the slightest sense of the term.
Generally, Cat has no specific style. She doesn't have much of a fashion sense but she prefers to wear sweaters overtop of t-shirts and jeans. She isn't against wearing skirts but isn't fond of shorts. As for shoes, she tends to wear running shoes or sandals, and on very rare occasions she will wear heels - sometimes for no particular reason but generally only when she's wearing dresses or skirts.

Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon
Posted by: Vulre Oakenlimb - 06-22-2015, 06:28 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (7)

Character name: Abaddon, Lord of Avernus.

Character source:
Defense of The Ancients 2

Character history:

Quote:The Font of Avernus is the source of a family's strength, a crack in primal stones from which vapors of prophetic power have issued for generations. Each newborn of the cavernous House Avernus is bathed in the black mist, and by this baptism they are given an innate connection to the mystic energies of the land. They grow up believing themselves fierce protectors of their lineal traditions, the customs of the realm--but what they really are protecting is the Font itself. And the motives of the mist are unclear. When the infant Abaddon was bathed in the Font, they say something went awry. In the child's eyes there flared a light of comprehension that startled all present and set the sacerdotes to whispering. He was raised with every expectation of following the path all scions of Avernus took--to train in war, that in times of need he might lead the family's army in defense of the ancestral lands. But Abaddon was always one apart. Where others trained with weapons, he bent himself to meditation in the presence of the mist. He drank deep from the vapors that welled from the Font, learning to blend his spirit with the potency that flowed from far beneath the House; he became a creature of the black mist. There was bitterness within the House Avernus--elders and young alike accusing him of neglecting his responsibilities. But all such accusations stopped when Abaddon rode into battle, and they saw how the powers of the mist had given him mastery over life and death beyond those of any lord the House had ever known.
While imbibing the black mists flowing from the Font of Avernus, on the eve of yet another war, Omni tore him from his world, sending him spiralling into the strange place that is the Omniverse.

Physical Description: (originals only)
[Image: Cosmetic_icon_Arsenal_of_the_Demonic_Vessel.png]
As he appears in the Arsenal of the Demonic Vessel set. He himself is bordering on ethereal, almost fully dissipated into a black mist, while his eyes exist only as burning points of eldritch light. His armour is a simple steel, crafted by the most utilitarian and skilled smiths the house of Avernus could afford (And given the House's power and influence, they were, to say the least, quite talented) However, most of it is covered by a ragged black cloak, hiding his formidable figure from sight. His voice echoes strangely, as if stemming from the bottom of a deep well. Nonetheless, it is still a voice that commands respect and attention.

Blade of Avernus (Requires Physical, Buff Debuff Proficiencies, 300 OM)
The Blade of Avernus is an ancestral weapon, passed down from Lord to Heir over many centuries. The blade has become infused with the black mist that defines Avernus, bringing its fell power to bear. The Blade of Avernus is a long sword, forged of blackened steel, 130 centimeters long, covered in runes that glow with a pale blue light. When the blade strikes a foe, it leeches away their strength, slowing their movements, while hastening Abaddon, or any other assailant's own. This curse manifests as a chilling mist clinging to the foe's body. The effects last for 3 seconds, unless reapplied by another blow.

  It Came From Hell
Posted by: Doomguy - 06-22-2015, 06:16 AM - Forum: The Vasty Deep - Replies (6)

I left Dante's Abyss through the personal transporter and found myself exactly where I was before I left for the self inflicted Hell that the blood sport provided. I looked across the tarmac that led up to the round the clock party town of Costa del Sol, the same tacky sign in the exact same spot. It had not changed at all in the few days I was gone, bar the DA sign up tent, its aura of commercialized horseshit, and the rising moon on another chilly tropic night. I could say that I missed the sandy vacation verse, but after the initial few seconds that i absorbed the sights and sense I remembered what I came back to and my shoulders slumped. Back to deal with the Empire and pirate orks and a mission that didn't seem any closer than before.

But I wasn't going to be playing around with shadows and nice words like I was some kind of second rate secret agent. Despite the fact that I was just the first place loser in the competition, the survival island had taught me something. It reminded me that I was someone who solved problems with my hands. No more need to play mind games with officers. Put my plans in motion and have some actual progress to show for all the shit I've had to put up with. Now I could do what I did best: defeat my enemies with overwhelming violence.

I first ducked into a workshop, a garage that saw to the few civilian vehicles, and walked up to the owner so I could fix my armor on their workbench. I thought that I find myself with a terrorized man that I would have to cohere into help, while the other customers would stare on with fresh memories of my rampage, and jeer and laugh to themselves about the freak of the week.

What I got could only be described as star-struct admiration, the mechanic's face lit up like a flood light and he happily ushered me into the back to the tools I needed. And while I didn't quite hear what the customers I cut in line said, a glance back through the door saw more surprise and wonder than disapproval. It seemed that I gained familiarity from my time in DA.

And when I think about it, I would have preferred the disapproval. Better that people look down on me for doing evil, even for the right reason, than to be celebrated for a massacre.

Once I had the tools on hands and I summoned an extra large stack of armor shards, I dug down into the buffle bag I carried and pulled out the ruined helmet and armor. Damaged parts fell away to the floor and new pieces fit into where they were needed. Like a life saving jigsaw puzzle. It became stronger as I layered shards over the massive hole where a spike once pieced my lung, and while there was still some damage seen it was now a battle scar that showed its hard fought battles than a structural weakness. The helmet's split was easily taken out, and the broken visor was popped out and a new one took it's place. The ironic look revived.

I held the helmet so that it was leveled to my head, and stared at the polarized screen that showed myself in it's reflective surface. Faced with their selves, most people would have though of who they were and what they have done. I didn't need that kind of philosophical bullshit anymore. I faced down the horrors of Hell and came out the otherside. I beat some of the Omniverse's toughest and came out better than all bar one. I was the greatest soldier in all of creation.

I let a wide smile grow on my face and saw it mirrored by my helmet, happy to seem me again. Welcome back, Doomguy. I turned it around and let it slide down the side of my heads until it fit snugly and my HUD flashed on.

Complete once more.

My armor came next, the day glow green stood out as always. The weapons took some time as I fit them back into the place I liked them and the their ammo. The newly acquired dagger was the last thing I put on, something that I hadn't much though off since I arrived.

There was an uncontested beauty in the piece, something nice to look at and made to probably be part of some decadent noble's collection. It certainly didn't look like a real weapon, as it's almost translucent material made it almost look like glass. And I could swear that it was hollow, as each step seemed to shift something inside of it. I could hear faint rattling, but a forced shake seemed to procure nothing. If there was something magical to it, I was left with nothing to go on. I shrugged and placed it under my belt, and thought of it as something I could use in a pinch.

I thanked the manager, who seemed happy to just take the scrap I left behind (and was probably sold on Omni Creg's List), and I set off towards a familiar street. With a click of a button a map that of the entire town of Costa del Sol zoomed onto my view screen, information that I had painstakingly acquired. I marked the security cameras and watched at a pattern finally showed itself, and pointed to a single spot. Only a block away from where I had met three other prime.

It was about time that I payed Eagleeye a visit. Time to take fate into my hands.
