Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon - Vulre Oakenlimb - 06-22-2015 Character name: Abaddon, Lord of Avernus. Character source: Defense of The Ancients 2 Character history: Quote:The Font of Avernus is the source of a family's strength, a crack in primal stones from which vapors of prophetic power have issued for generations. Each newborn of the cavernous House Avernus is bathed in the black mist, and by this baptism they are given an innate connection to the mystic energies of the land. They grow up believing themselves fierce protectors of their lineal traditions, the customs of the realm--but what they really are protecting is the Font itself. And the motives of the mist are unclear. When the infant Abaddon was bathed in the Font, they say something went awry. In the child's eyes there flared a light of comprehension that startled all present and set the sacerdotes to whispering. He was raised with every expectation of following the path all scions of Avernus took--to train in war, that in times of need he might lead the family's army in defense of the ancestral lands. But Abaddon was always one apart. Where others trained with weapons, he bent himself to meditation in the presence of the mist. He drank deep from the vapors that welled from the Font, learning to blend his spirit with the potency that flowed from far beneath the House; he became a creature of the black mist. There was bitterness within the House Avernus--elders and young alike accusing him of neglecting his responsibilities. But all such accusations stopped when Abaddon rode into battle, and they saw how the powers of the mist had given him mastery over life and death beyond those of any lord the House had ever known. While imbibing the black mists flowing from the Font of Avernus, on the eve of yet another war, Omni tore him from his world, sending him spiralling into the strange place that is the Omniverse. Physical Description: (originals only) As he appears in the Arsenal of the Demonic Vessel set. He himself is bordering on ethereal, almost fully dissipated into a black mist, while his eyes exist only as burning points of eldritch light. His armour is a simple steel, crafted by the most utilitarian and skilled smiths the house of Avernus could afford (And given the House's power and influence, they were, to say the least, quite talented) However, most of it is covered by a ragged black cloak, hiding his formidable figure from sight. His voice echoes strangely, as if stemming from the bottom of a deep well. Nonetheless, it is still a voice that commands respect and attention. Stats: ATK: 4 DEF: 4 SPD: 0 TEC: 2 Starting Proficiencies: Physical (1000), Debuff (1000 OM), Buff (400) Proficiencies Starting Powers: Time Manipulation (1800) Starting Moves: Blade of Avernus (Requires Physical, Buff Debuff Proficiencies, 300 OM) The Blade of Avernus is an ancestral weapon, passed down from Lord to Heir over many centuries. The blade has become infused with the black mist that defines Avernus, bringing its fell power to bear. The Blade of Avernus is a long sword, forged of blackened steel, 130 centimeters long, covered in runes that glow with a pale blue light. When the blade strikes a foe, it leeches away their strength, slowing their movements, while hastening Abaddon, or any other assailant's own. This curse manifests as a chilling mist clinging to the foe's body. The effects last for 3 seconds, unless reapplied by another blow. I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Re: Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon - Monkey D. Luffy - 06-23-2015 Mist Coil will be less effective on Primes, and continuous use should have some sort of negative consequences for Abbadon. Also, the "turn to dust" part won't apply to Primes either. Glimpse will require Foresight. Re: Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon - Vulre Oakenlimb - 06-23-2015 I made some edits to bring him into compliance with the rules. Hopefully it's adequate. Re: Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon - Vulre Oakenlimb - 06-24-2015 One quick question: Seeing as how I didn't post with He-Who-Meddles, is there any chance of my OM remaining the same? It's perfectly fine if it goes down to 5k, I was just curious. Re: Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon - Proto Man - 06-24-2015 I'll take 50% of your current surplus, rather than taking it all. In the future, I'd make sure you spend some time thinking over changes. (that's not sass, just general advice to everyone/anyone) Re: Switching Characters (Again): He-Who-Meddles to Abaddon - Vulre Oakenlimb - 06-24-2015 Thanks Proto. I kinda dropped the ball on this. Sorry 'bout that. |
