Alt Time!: Specter
Posted by: Lemmy Koopa - 08-30-2015, 04:14 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (11)

Character name: Specter

Character source: Ape Escape

Character history: Specter, who is self-proclaimed as “the strongest of all monkeys”, was once the star of the Ape Misbehavin’ Magic Show in Monkey Park; he was formerly an innocent albino monkey that performed for the crowds of people. However, one day that all changed when he came in contact of a beta Peak Point Helmet.

Curious, the albino thought to put it on and as a result, the power of the helmet turned him into the leader and the menace he is by gathering an army of monkeys and threatening the Humans at every chance possible. The abilities that the helmet gave him brought out unusually high levels of intelligence and superior psychic powers.

His ambitions of perfecting his powers as well as creating dastardly plans has grown over the years after being taken down by Spike, Jimmy and Pipotchi and the twins, Kei and Yumi respectively.

However, when he’s down, he’s not out.

He always manages to come back into the scene again even after he has been defeated the first time, indicating that he’s hellbent on reaching his goal.

As of recent, before he was about to launch another attack against the Humans for revenge, an unfamiliar phenomena occurred one day during the scenario that has warped him away from his reality, resulting in him being in the Omniverse.

Physical Description: Simply put, Specter is an albino monkey that is rather short, standing at four foot, one inch and weights about sixty-one point seven points. Since he is an albino monkey he has white hair, pale skin and red eyes. His hair is spiked and usually has blue coloring at the very tips of each spike, with a tuft of fur covering one of his eyes usually (the left one to be exact). Currently, he wears a red cape with black leather boots and a white belt with decals on it followed with an alternate colored helmet.

DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 3

Starting Proficiencies: Remote Control (600), Range Materialize (600), Ranged (1000), Homing (600), Area Attack (600)

Starting Powers: Telekinesis/Basic (400), Master Acrobat (400)

OM Spent: 800OM

Starting Moves:

Psychic Spear (300) (Requires Homing, Remote Control, Ranged, Range Materialize, Area Attack): Specter charges up his attack for a window of several (3-5) seconds, creating four orbs of energy around him before he launches them over, homing into a single target. Recharging requires additional time (about 5-7 seconds) before a new set is available.

Psychic Blast (300) (Requires Area Attack): Specter charges up his attack for a window of (3-5) seconds before he creates a fantastic blast of psychic energy that goes outside the usual attack range (splash damage); effective for multiple targets on field.

  Half-Devil vs. Zanpakuto
Posted by: Simon - 08-30-2015, 03:11 PM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (16)

Dante exited Coruscant without much fanfare or excitement, for better or worse. With a couple of nods as he passed by the Stormtroopers, the Son of Sparda hoped to ensure that he was something of a buddy-buddy with this Empire... for the time being, at least. Never mind the fact that they took his bike - well, not even his bike, strictly, but the one he was using regardless.

Of course, that was just going to make this trek to the center of the Nexus take longer. Much longer. Maybe it'd be more fun if this place wasn't so damned empty!

Time passed, and eventually Dante's quiet trudging across the silent white expanse landed him at the Fountain. It was different this time, more in line with a traditional fountain one found at a major park - built from stone and marble and featuring sculptures of angels pouring out water into a surrounding pool. So the Fountain changed every so often, or did it simply conform to whomever recently arrived in the Omniverse? It was kind of a cool thing, if one was into that kind of stuff. At least Dante found himself interested, but he got the feeling that trying to get one for himself would just get trippy after a while.

Back to the point: someone here was offering a sword. Dante hoped that this wasn't some prank of a flasher or someone, but with a name like 'Zangetsu', it seemed he was some degree honest. And Dante did like powerful assets on his side: just ask Lady or Neil Goldstein. If there was any question as to whether or not he could even wield the sword, Dante would gladly prove the man wrong, one way or another.

Just one problem: there was nobody at the fountain. Nobody that he could see, anyways. Those shady dealers always liked to come out of nowhere when their presence was called for. So he started calling: "Hello? Anyone here?"

With no response, the devil hunter began to circle the center of the Nexus, looking out for anyone nearby. There was no such individual. There was, however, a sword. It looked all the world like an over-sized katana, the side of the blade far more fitting for a broadsword or even a falchion but still looking quite deadly. And if it happened to be built like a katana, then it had to be exceptionally strong in several factors, much like the Yamato when Dante had wielded it.

A memory flashed into his brain, of his dear brother, long gone. A hand instinctively went to the amulet chained around Dante's neck, the two halves of it clasped together. The lone Son of Sparda forced the memory out of his brain, not even considering Omni's words, to think of whatever he desired most...

Hard boots walked over to the blade lodged in the ground, the unknown surface making a strangely silent noise, except for the jangling of Dante's buckles and clasps. A single red ribbon tied from a loop on the hilt danged freely, blowing meekly in a nonexistent wind. Nobody was around, and this sword might've been the one to contain immense power. Why not take it for a test run and find out? A hand dressed with fingerless gloves reached out to grab the sword, intent on pulling the heaping blade from its resting place.

  Coruscant Library
Posted by: Kopaka - 08-30-2015, 03:01 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (2)

So, there seems to be some interest as to what's happening in the Coruscant Library. If you don't already know, a library official was murdered in cold blood, and then a librarian (who is also a griffon) was forced to wear an artifact that made her float-glow and go all catatonic.

Currently, the people involved in the thread are:

Kopaka
Guu
Athena Myaló
Kenjiro Masters (Pending Absence)

Guu is kinda the person who set the murder thing up, so I'm not sure where it's going, but I'm willing to run the story if she doesn't want to. (Princesses are busy! Confusedhh: )

So I guess what I need to know is, who wants to participate, and what order do people want to go in?

A world of Ice, a world of dangers...
Posted by: Sarah Kerrigan - 08-30-2015, 06:02 AM - Forum: The Frozen Fields - No Replies

Raal's horse stepped out of the portal slowly, the portal's face shimmering with an eerie light as Raal passed through it. The process might have caused dizziness if Raal wasn't already intimately familiar with travel through portals.

Raal's eyes went from left to right, surveying the frozen wastelands he now found himself in. a small trail of steam burst from his eyes, as the pelting snow struck them. The wind screeched and howled around him, drowning out all other noise, and Raal noticed a thin layer of snow already forming along his truncheon, the weapon's natural oaken colors slowly being overtaken by a fuzzy white as snowflakes clung desperately to it, like Humans grasping onto a sinking ship.

Raal realized that, given this was a new world, there were probably at most only a few humans here - certainly, they must at least be as spare in numbers as the orcs. The thought was comforting - if he never saw another race of the alliance in his life... it'd still be too many.

Raal pressed his heel against the bones of his horse, the animal taking off like a bullet almost immediately. for any normal being, a storm of this magnitude would be deadly. For Raal, who's corpse of a body lacked feelings of heat or chill, the blinding torrent of wind and snow was merely good cover. Of course, it made finding out anything about this strange place even more difficult for him...

Raal's vision seemed to be of nothing but snow for a long time, but eventually the blizzard began to lose its intensity, after what could have been minutes or hours. Raal's eyes began to pick up dunes of snow and ice all around him, a vast desert of snow and ice, white that contrasted with the pale blue of waterborne ice. "I'm on a coastline, then..." Raal realized. This was good. While the pale realm Raal had found himself in seemed to defy physics as he had known them, more similar to the Twisting Nether than a true part of time and space, this place was far more reminiscent of Azeroth or Draenor, as he knew them. Of course, those places had actual inhabitants, while this misbegotten realm seemed to…

Raal paused mid thought as a small igloo came into view in front of him. The glacial structure was small, certainly too small for Raal’s body to fit comfortably into, but the ice that formed it’s carved structure was too smooth and too solid to possibly be a natural occurrence. Though, Raal supposed the small chimney tilting to it’s side was probably the far more obvious clue. It appeared this place was inhabited after all.
Raal urged his horse forward, attempting to survey the hut for himself. The unmistakably loud sound of Hooves striking ice gave ample hint to his presence, and it didn’t surprise the death knight when a figure stepped out of the Igloo in response, Raal now only a few meters away from the entrance.

Raal’s eyes almost immediately recognized the creature that stepped out of the igloo, and he had to resist the urge to unleash all his power right at this moment. A Dwarf, lightly armored in rough leathers and furs and carrying a hammer the color of moonlight with a broad head, had stepped out of the igloo, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. “What’re ye doing so far from Darkshire, skeleton?” The Dwarf asked warily.

The Death knight had to fight the desire to simply strike down the ugly little wart of a man the moment his blasphemous words left his mouth, but managed to curb his own wrath… for now. What was of more interest was that this Dwarf wasn’t intelligent enough to attack him on site… Though, perhaps he’d never seen a Death knight before. Perhaps he came from some other world of dwarves, even. The thought of the alliance races existing in even more realities still would have made Raal retch if he still retained the physical capacity, but he had to admit the idea wasn’t so far-fetched.

For now, Diplomacy, Raal thought to himself. His main goal was still knowledge, and this short excuse for a man potentially contained answers to his questions.
“I’ve never heard of such a place.” Raal answered in the least intimidating tone he could muster. With the deep timbre the unholy echo of his voice, it wasn’t much of an improvement.

“Please, fisherman.” Raal pleaded, guessing that there was no reason for an igloo to be built so close to the waterfront - by a Dwarf, no less! - unless they were looking to utilize its main natural resource. “I’ve travelled far and long since being brought to this plane. I’m just trying to find my way home. There seems to be no sense of time or direction in these wastes.” Raal stated, hoping he sounded desperate. “what is this place? Where am I?” he asked.
The Dwarf’s expression softened slightly, but his grip on his hammer remained strong, and his eyes never left the weapon that Raal procured. “Welcome to the Frozen Fields, dead man. You’ve picked a hell of a vacation spot. So, you’re a new prime, I’d guess?”

“Prime?” genuine curiosity peeked into the warlock’s voice. He didn’t expect a simple fisher to know anything of the subject.
“Did’ja see a man with white teeth, glowin’ like the bloody moon on your way into th’ Omniverse?”
So he was not unique in seeing that man. Raal realized this meant that quite a few different beings must exist here. all with a similar ability to grow in power. At least some of them would likely prove to be obstacles, as well. Seeing no immediate advantage in lying, the Death knight answered with the tone of a much humbler man.
“I recall seeing him, yes. He spoke of much, but I understood little.”.
“Well, to explain what he didn’t, beings like ye, who can die and come back as much as they want, are called primes. There are other beings here, though, summoned by other primes. These ones can die all they want, an’ they’re called secondaries. Don’t ask me what group I fall under.” the dwarf explained, his chestnut beard seeming to sway with each word. Raal was silent for a few moments after that, trying to figure out how to phrase his question just so…
“What if a prime was destructive, then. Could he not slaughter without pause? The thought is… Disturbing.”

“Disturbing, undead, or enticing?” The Dwarf asked, suspicion evident in his voice. “Banishment is still a punishment for primes who get a little too cocky with their immortality and decide to do things like purge a town from existence, or somethin’. If ye want to be literally sent to hell, you can go ahead and be my guest, but I imagine even a corpse like you wouldnae be able to handle that place. Certainly, if ye found your way back, you’d be the first. Ever.”
The old warlock considered this for a moment, a skeletal hand tapping thoughtfully on his horse’s torso. So he still needed to be careful. He was immortal here, but far from invincible. “So this place is the realm of the dwarves, then?” Raal probed.

“We’re the main force, ye can bet, but no. We are prob’ly the only creatures who live here that don’t try to kill you or eat ye on sight. Or both… There’s snowbeasts, further inland in the caves, by the name of wampas. those furry abominations are bigger than an ogre and somehow more stupid. And then there’s the trolls…”
“Trolls?” Raal asked… A little too hurriedly. “You fool!” he cursed to himself. Perhaps it wasn’t just his body rotting. The dwarf didn’t seem to have caught the slip, but Raal knew he wasn’t dealing with an idiot. He wouldn’t get a free pass again.

“Aye, big, tusked, and what I guess ye’d call intelligent. I’ve had to bash in more than a few o’ their skulls. they came here after the kingdom put em into exile. Of course, it’s not like the Kingdom’s willing to come and clean up the problem, either. The Trolls were pushed into our land, and since they’ve came here it’s been war. They want revenge against the kingdom, but since we were associated with it… They feel it’d be just fine to bash some dwarf skulls as a warm-up.”

“Terrible.” Raal said. “What areas must I avoid to stay away from these creatures?”
“Lad, nowhere is safe from them here.” The dwarf answered. “and I certainly don’t know where their settlements are, either. Besides… Why would I be willin’ to lead you to your allies, You Orcish dog!”
Raal realized two important facts in this moment.
The first was that he had been played for a fool this entire time. The Dwarf in front of him had known exactly who he was, and had been leading him on this entire time.
The second was that he had somehow not noticed the Dwarf slowly moving himself closer to Raal during the entire exchange, until he was at the perfect range for his hammer to cave in his mount’s skull.

Springing from the back of it as best he could, he landed clumsily a few feet away, the hard ice threatening to shatter his bones as he did. His only saving grace was the protective runes along the back of his robes, cushioning the blow. “You dare...
“seems I might have to warn the rest of the dwarves in this area of you. though if this is really the extent of your abilities, demon-worshipper, I’m not sure it’s worth the effort.” The Dwarf snarled, and he charged forward.

Raal’s hatred burned in him. He would not be humiliated! He could handle losing to a paladin, a ranger, a mage… but he was a death knight. for this malformed stubby excuse for a sentient to damage his mount, knock him to the ground, and raise his own weaponry against him.

“You’ve signed your own death warrant, you pint-sized fool!” Raal yelled, spite evident in every part of his voice. Raal’s anger grew, and he focused it, channeled it, and charged every fiber of his body with it. His anger stirred something else inside him, the fel magic inside him, and Raal directed that magic now, black energy forming like a glowing hot flame around his palm. A simple shape was remembered and formed, and Raal for the first time in a long time fired the simplest of Death knight incantations at his opponent. The touch of darkness flew like a missile at the Dwarf, and the Death knight praised his luck that this one seemed to be of average for his short-legged race. Where a human or elf would have likely already managed to trample Raal with a charge, the Dwarf was stopped just a few feet away from Raal, as the bolt struck his chest and knocked him off his feet.

Raal noticed telltale hints of breathing and realized he had little time. Racking his brain for simple spells he could still perform, he allowed his magical senses to briefly check the ground, looking for corpses.

To his amazement, however, he felt the knowledge of how to use the spell… almost shifting, within his own mind. A different version appeared in Raal’s head, and somehow he knew this version was likely the only one that would work here.
Holding out his hand, Raal focused, as the wind seemed to increase around him. chips of bone, seemingly from nothing, appeared along the wind, striking eachother to form a mold. the quiet cracking sounds each individual ivory piece made stopped as quickly as they started, leaving a grinning, smiling skeleton in front of him. a shimmer appeared in the skeleton’s hands, before forming a short, steel broadsword, the shining weapon held firmly in the skeletal warrior’s hand.
“After him.” Raal commanded, feeling the familiar presure and presence of a mind subjugated under his own. The strain was much greater than it once was, but one skeleton was nothing to a practitioner of his skill.
The Skeleton walked as fast as it could towards the dwarf, raising the sword just a little too high to be practical. The Dwarf, unmoving, appeared to be ready for the coup de grace. Raal knew that this dwarf was far too clever for that though. No… This was no moron.

“Therefore, I must take the most convenient solution available to me…” He thought to himself.
The Skeleton twisted the sword in it’s hand, intent on making a coup de grace. it’s bony hands silently gripped the blade as it plunged it into the dwarf’s sternum as hard as it could.
Or, at least, where the Dwarf’s sternum used to be.
“This bag o’ bones ain’t worth my time.” a cracking sound was heard, the skeleton’s blade stuck into the ice, before it shattered, the unmistakable sound of pulverizing ice punctuated with a soft “sploosh” as the skeleton fell into the water below.

Raal grimaced. He didn’t think the dwarf would finish his skeleton quite so easily. Raising his truncheon, he attempted to blast his opponent with another touch of darkness. Dodging to the side, the dwarf returned fire, throwing his silver hammer, and Raal knew, as he saw the attack coming, he wouldn’t be able to dodge the strike.
Raal felt the bones on his left ribcage crunch, as the hammer struck true, and his world went violently spinning as he felt himself slide across the barren ice. Raal’s hood was gone, ripped off by the sheer force of the strike, and his skull’s visibility fully exposed.

The thundering steps of Dwarven feet soon followed, and Raal knew his opponent was going to try to capitalize. Beaten to death by a dwarf’s bare fist… Raal felt something in his hand, and he realized he hadn’t lost the truncheon even now.
A smile bared across his face, despite the pain, and Raal knew the perfect spell to end this battle.

“You’re lucky, dwarf.” Raal muttered, concentrating his energy even as he knew the dwarf was already close enough to attack him. Hurriedly, he concentrated, green energy shimmering and swirling around the jewel adorning his truncheon.

The dwarf came into view, raising his leg in preparation to stomp on Raal’s skull. the dwarf was powerful, physically, and Raal knew he was more than capable of caving it in.
If it had reached Raal's face in time.
“It looks like I won’t get the chance to torture that loathsome attitude out of you.”
the snake of green energy swirled rapidly around Raal’s magical truncheon, and he used both hands to raise it up, Both the truncheon and Raal himself wrapped in an ethereal light as he released the bolt, a brilliant bolt of death energy the size of the dwarf's head. The Bolt enveloped the area with a sick, yellowish green illumination, and Raal could barely see through it to the shock on the surprised dwarf's face.

The beam struck true, the energy seeming to fade through the dwarf’s body as a sickly yellow glow permeated his very being. He stumbled backwards, his face pale, and Raal took the opportunity to sit up, using one hand to prop his shaking body upwards. Raal’s ribs were gone, and while for him this was not a mortal blow, every movement sent messages of pain through his body.
The Dwarf was pale, the pale of death, but his eyes were still animated and moving, though now fear occupied them.
It was as it should be.

“Drown in the depths, dwarven filth. And know all you accomplished here was your own foolish demise.” Raal said with a smile, his truncheon pointed, not towards the dwarf, but towards the thin ice he’d stumbled upon.

Shame and regret filled the dwarf’s features, but even now, bleeding and broken, he refused to cry out. Raal, from some emotion resembling respect, decided not to draw out the dwarfs agony.Raal fired once, then twice, the first shot merely causing the ice to shudder. The second shot… Raal’s eyes couldn’t even process what occurred next. There was simply ice one minute, and the next an explosion of water had simply replaced it, and the dwarf.

Crawling back towards what seemed like solid ground, Raal felt incredibly lucky. He’d underestimated his enemy, and it had very nearly cost him his life. Pulling his mangled body onto the ground, he realized just how dangerous a world he now inhabited. Perhaps more dangerous than Azeroth ever was.
“I… Need to get stronger.”

So I think I'm going to try this (again <_<) this year.

I was wondering if anyone else has ever tried this or would like to accompany me on my (probably will fail) adventure in November.

If we have enough people we could maybe get some positive pr or something? Dunno.

Like any isolated collection of communicating humans, the writers of the Omniverse often resort to various phrases and jargon when talking about our shared world.

The purpose of this thread is to assist new players in learning what the various abbreviations and slang terms mean, and examples of how they are used.

#Hypetrain [haɪp - treɪn] - Noun:
1. A hashtag referencing something of great hype arriving at a point in the future, usually used in the build-up to a formal announcement.

"Can't wait until this summer! #HypeTrain"

Origin: Proto Man in the buildup to DA2015 and beyond, although he assumes that such a concept existed on the internet long before.

40ker [fɔrti-keɪər] - Noun:
1. A title referencing members of the site who play as characters derived from the Warhammer 40,000 franchise.

"The 40kers finally escaped Coruscant. Only took two months."

Origin: Galel Baraz, Tartaros, and Okor Paleblood are three ultramarines from the aforementioned franchise who banded together for the Dante's Abyss competition. As such, a term naturally developed to refer to them collectively.

Alt [alt] - Noun:
1. An abbreviation of 'Alternate Character', something which many members of the site have at least one of.

"Let me switch to my alt real quick."

Origin: It's pretty straightforward, really. Don't look at me like that.

ao [ou] - Adverb:
1. A superlative, usually used in a positive context, to describe the superiority of a given subject.

"Hawaiian pizza is ao delicious, dude."

Origin: Originally a typo of the word 'so', a certain admin thought it was just a hip new word kids these days were using, so it was just adopted as such.

Blargh [blarg] - Exclamation:
1. An exclamatory sentiment used to express an explosive quantity of a multitude of feelings, ranging from anxiety to panic.
2. A melancholy greeting.

"Blargh!"

"Blarghagarg!"

Origin: Adam Gaite, ya fool.

DA [dë-ă] - Abbreviation:
1. A shorthand for Dante's Abyss, a tournament style survival contest that lastest several days within an isolated island in the Omniverse.

"Some writers are still burned out from DA; they put a lot of work into it."

Origin: Refer to definition.

Derper - Noun:
1. An alcoholic beverage containing Dr Pepper and rum. Hence the name. The admin's beverage of choice.

"I call this… The derper!"

Jank [dʒæŋk] - Noun, Verb, Adjective:
1. Anything that is generally crappy/no fun at all.
2. To twist, warp or mess with.

1. "This injured hand jank has really been a downer."
2. "No janking with the results, Leigh!"

Origin: This was how Greg initially referred to the problems with his hand. Now it's a pretty universal thing.

Janksore [ʤæŋk-sɔr] - Noun:
1. People who interfere or mess with others too heavily.

"Stop harassing our new writers, you janksores!"

Origin: Greg.

Jankstorm [ʤæŋk-stɔrm] - Noun:
1. Something or someone who holds maximum jank. Similar but stronger to janksore.

"You fuckin' JANKSTORM"

Origin: Greg.

Origin: During Dante's Abyss, the contestant Lubbock was brutally beaten within an inch of his life over the course of two days before being slowly suffocated when an opponent held his head into a sand bank with her foot. It was such a miserable sight that it immediately was adopted into the common vernacular. Lubbock often finds himself continually Lubbock'd to this day.

What has the Stacker have in store for our intrepid heroes? Tune in to find out... next time on STACKER WRITES!"

Origin: Originally used by Greg to make fun of Nanoha Takamachi's name over Skype chats, by calling her Nanoha Stakalakamachi. Shortened to Stacker, for convenience, and later The Stacker as she was driven to extinction by over-trolling and the name became legend whispered on the wind. Character name: Zak Otto

Character source: Original {From a graphic novel i'm working on.}

Character history: Zak grew up in a small farming village with his sister, Melody, and their parents. Life was great in the idyllic Emlin village, they were close with all their neighbours, their mother was bringing in enough money to support all of them selling her cakes at the bakery, and their father would return from his adventures with books, maps and interesting artifacts that Zak found fascinating, although he did wish his father was home more often. Their father taught them to read, write and about the world and they spent their free time playing in the woods or by the river. One day in winter when their dad had just gotten back from a long, hard trekk, he had been gone for weeks and after the happy renunion, gifts and hugs had been exchanged and the initial excitement of their fathers return had worn off, Amanda and Chris asked for some alone time together, and set up arrangements for Zak and Melody to stay with a friend for the night.

Little did they know, this would be the last time they saw either of their parents. The two of them had settled down for the night and left the fireplace lit to keep the small, two room house warm overnight, but it sparked and their was a tragic fire resulting in the death of both Amanda and Christopher Otto.

Adjusting to having nobody but eachother was hard, and the two kids, at the moment aged only 10 and 8, were stuck as to what to do. They hitchiked to the nearest city where they had no luck finding anybody to help them, but did manage to beg for a little food. They lived like this, on the streets, for a good few weeks, with a proper campsite set up hidden well away in the overgrown forgotten field of the extensive park. One day a grumpy (but also kind) man who ran a local bakery saw them begging on the street and offered them a place to stay and a meal every evening in return for help running his shop. When it was discovered that they had inherited their mothers artistic talent for decorating and baking, business was going great and the man had enough profit to pay them wages and expand his business.
He eventually passed management of the business onto his son who had recently moved to the area, the young entrepreneur let them go in favour of people who were willing to work for less and had their own places to stay. After a bitter and heated argument between Jake and his son over Zak and Melodys employment, they left of their own accord to avoid being the cause of a broken father-son relationship.

Using the money they had saved up, now aged 12 and 10, they went back to Emlin and decided to try and rebuild the life they left behind. The burnt out ruins of their old house were left untouched on the outskirts of the village and they salvaged what little they could- one or two books were simply charred and a few small pieces of jewellery. Melody found a job at the place her mother used to work and Zak found work looking after horses, and they made an agreement with their old family friend, Maria Finch and her 5 year old son, Tom, that they would pay half the rent and live with her. Over time, they began to see Mrs. Finch as a motherly figure, and the painful memories of their parents death were replaced by fonder memories of their childhood and their newfound family.

When Zak was 16, (Mel was 14.) a strange monster attacked the village, wreaking havoc. This was the first time Zak saw a dragon, who single-handedly defeated the monster before dissapearing. Just a few days later a strange woman appeared on their doorstep, saying that Zak was a dragon and she needed his help. At first he would hear nothing of it, thinking the woman was crazy. Despite this, he offered her to stay for dinner and her story became more and more convincing. Before she left, she gave Zak a shimmering dragon scale, one that matched the dragon who had saved them. "Next time you or your family are in danger, youll believe me." She said, with a gentle smile before leaving. Sure enough, just weeks later another, similar serpent-like monster attacked the village, and, through gritted teeth it was asking for the dragon to come out and fight him. Of course, still not believing the ladys story, Zak and Melody did their best to fight off the creature with their knife and bow, but it wasnt enough.

The first time Zak used his dragon form was when the creature knocked down a wall and it almost fell on Melody. With a strange rush of adrenaline, they found that large, leathery wings had shielded them both from the debris. The creature was easily subdued and ran off with severe wounds after Zak had taken a few seconds to realise he was 10 ft tall and scaly.
After the fight was over, Zak unintentionally reverted back to his human form, and because of sheer exhaustion collapsed, waking up the next day at home, wondering if it had been a dream.
Melodys reaction proved it had really happened. "We need to find that weird old lady again. I think she was telling the truth." She said, looking closely at the scale that had been in Zaks pocket.

Just then there was a knock at the door, and there stood the woman again.
"I WAS around, in case you didnt figure it out, I would have helped." She said with a smirk.
"Names Tia, ill teach you how to controll that power if you want. I need your help with something to do with going back in time and the rift and whatnot." She added casually.
"Youre that dragon... The one that saved us the first time, arent you...?" Melody asked, getting a little defensive. "My brothers not doing anything dangerous." Just as she was about to shut the door, Zak stopped her. "Why dont we listen to her this time?" He said. Melody reluctantly agreed, on the terms that she could be his rider, and she could be there to protect him as best she could.

After several weeks of Tia telling him how to use his power, but never actually letting him try it out, he felt unprepared for what was about to happen. Since Tia and the other 'guardian' dragons had fought, and lost, a battle to the largest dragon called Arakvik in the north, he had been slowly taking over towns and cities, getting further and further south, near Emlin. He was terrorising the people, forcing them to pay him inordinate taxes and to fight to the death simply for his amusement. Civilasation was slowly falling apart as Arakvik gained more and more power, and with the size of his army now it would be nearly impossible with only two dragons.
After the guardian dragons had lost the battle of the north several years earlier, 4 of them were dead and only 2 left alive- Tia and Sebastien. Sebastien had joined Arakviks army, mostly in fear, and Tia had fled and layed low as a villager for several years until she found another dragon- Zak.

Using the rift blade {Tias dragon summoned weapon} she showed him and Melody back in time, to before the battle happened, and they told the guardian dragons what would happen, and that they needed a new strategy. Sure enough, with an extra dragon and his rider they were able to defeat Arakvik, by luring him into the rift and them closing that entrance, esentially trapping him as a harmless ghost-like being, since the rift can only be opened from the outside. They decided they would stay in the past with the guardian dragons now that the future and their family was safe, but Tia gave them the rift blade, so they could travel freely between the past and present to visit Mrs. Finch and Tom.
Just when they thought things had settled down and they could continue their adventures in a peaceful world, Zak was summoned by Omni.
Confused, and alone in a strange world, Zak found that his dragon powers did not seem to work in the way they used to, so he decides to hold off using his dragon form until he is stronger and knows more about the world hes now in and settles for fighting in his human form with his obsidian bow (his own dragon summoned weapon) and the rift blade, of which the time travel powers no longer work, but still allow him to enter the rift, almost like a dimension within a dimension, or like being a ghost. Near the fountain where he first found himself in this strange omniverse, he opened a small rift and hid the dragon scale, for safekeeping until he feels he can use his dragon form again.

Physical Description: Just from looking at Zak, you can tell he spends most of his days outdoors. Standing at 5'9, he is slim, yet muscular and he sports a deep tan, often with a little sunburn on his nose and long, pointed elvish ears. He has jet black hair in a messy, roughly cut style and startling green eyes, just like his sister, Melody. He will usually be seen hiding behind the faded black hooded cape he always wears, along with dark teeshirt and cargo trousers, with both a shoulder and waist belt for his weapons and other belongings. His cape also has large pockets sewn inside for extra storage. In his left ear he keeps one of his mothers gold earrings, his sister Melody has the other.

In his dragon form, he stands at around 10ft, with leathery wings and a ridged back, and looks like a fairly classic dragon. He is a dark black that shimmers a purplish blue in the sun, with the same bright green eyes. What remains of his clothes acts as a makeshift saddle for Melody and anyone else riding himto protect them from the sharp spikes on his back. This does, of course, mean that his clothes are mostly torn and tattered when he reverts to his human form, however he loosenes his cape enough so that it can withstand the rapid transformation.

Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 3
SPD: 2
TEC: 3

Starting Proficiencies:

Ranged proficiency {-1000 OM}

Physical strengh {-1000 OM}

Starting Powers:

Phasing {-1200 OM} While in the rift he can be seen as semi-transparent, he will be unable to attack or be attacked. However, energy-like and non physical attacks seem to be able to go through the rift here, and it gets tiring to keep larger rifts open, especially one large enough for a human.

Basic super jumping {-300 OM} up to 10 meters.

Master acrobat {-400 OM} he is quite agile and able to do some acrobatic moves, even in combat. This is due to hard training.

Starting Moves:

Rift blade {-600 OM physical strengh} he can use the rift blade as an ordinary sword, or use it to open the rift during combat. {uses phasing power} Alternativly, he can open a very small rift away from himself for storage, but this isn't useful in combat.
The blade is a short, straight sword with a basic handguard. Its incredibly light, being made of a magic opal-like crystal, but not particularly powerful.

Obsidian bow {-300 OM ranged proficiency} The obsidian bow is heavy, and slow, but is very strong and near unbreakable. This is Zaks preffered combat style.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yup. Gotta read em all. I don't think I missed much of the information stuff either, please tell me if I got something wrong though.

Notes and questions:
OM: Current earned OM: 5000
=5000 Current spent OM: 4800
-1000
-1000 Shopping list: Stealth, to strenghen the powers of the rift to mean he
-900 can't be seen in the rift. {To combine with phasing}
=2100 Alternate form: dragon, with moves like claws and stuff.
-1200
=900
-400
-300
=200

Question: I know I dont have enough OM now, but when I do, how would I do the powerful alternate form/transformation thing? It was unclear wether I needed shapeshifting, and then buy the alternate form seperatly, or just the alternate form. And do I need to pay that amount of OM every time he transforms or just once? Also can he have seperate moves and powers for his dragon form?

Also can stealth be used with phasing to make him invisible in the rift? Would that be possible at all?

Also, do the moves need to be approved since theyre fairly basic ones? I just used the rift blade as a way of explaining how he used the phasing power, so I assumed that would mean the rift blade had 2 uses and would be 600 OM, correct?

Sorry, a lot of questions. Im completely new to all this. Most rps ive been in havent had all the stats and stuff.
so as I use the site, I've been consistently getting this error:

"Forbidden

on every page for very short periods of time. after a few seconds it returns to normal, but this has been a bit of an irritation and if anyone has any suggestions or solutions to this error, I would love to hear them.
