“It’s done.”
“I… I don’t believe it…”
Facial expressions shifted from a smile to mock disappointment, as the nurse in question cocked an eyebrow and challenged “Go ahead then, look for yourself if you don’t believe me.”
Standing in what appeared to be a provisional medic station, the shinobi turned from the woman and upon a mirror provided, took in his reflection. The head band, bearing the symbol of the Hidden Leaf, had been fastened across the left side of his face, shielding the gruesome, mauled flesh produced from a Flak Cannon discharge, taken at point blank. All compliments of the bounty hunter, Samus Aron. In fact, the Abyss had given the Uchiha quite a beating, sustaining heavy burns and injuries to the chest, abdomen, and jaw, but as he observed himself now…
With use of his hand, the headband came lose and fell from its position, revealing a dark, ebony eye peering back at him — an Uchiha eye, unscathed and the Sharingan ever present within.
“See, what did I tell you? Good as new.” the nurse beamed as her reflection appeared behind the recovered form of Sasuke’s. He knew her to be right, even before he had confirmed it with the mirror, he had already felt the use of his jaw return. Regardless, the regeneration performed was remarkable and astounded the youth as there was now a healthy reflection staring back at him.
Sasuke had seen the healing capabilities of the Omniverse before, through a run in with some terrorist, days before Dante’s Abyss, but nothing to this extent. It appeared that with this substance, Omnillium, you could accomplish the extraordinary; feats the youth long thought only fabled in the legends of forbidden jutsu.
Sasuke felt the use of his right hand, creating and releasing a fist as his thoughts of Omnillium, and gaining it to become stronger, lead him to thoughts of his brother, Itachi. Images of their dead parents flooded his mind’s eye, moments before Itachi cut them down. Instantly Sasuke’s reflection turned hostile; the hate in his blood near boiling.
Memories, ghosts, and the dead suffocated Sasuke’s subconscious, whispering hollowed woes of tragedy. His clan, his people, and the loved ones who cared for him… his family. No, nothing that transpired in the Abyss had meant a damn thing to Sasuke. With Itachi’s last breath still premature, no victories were claimed this day and it left a sour taste in the shinobi’s mouth.
The nurse, feeling the tension, took a cautious step backwards.
Blood stained imagery spiraled out of control within Sasuke, leaving him vulnerable to the truth. The role of hero had long since closed its eyes to him, passing away while the shinobi slept. A child’s sleep, the life that was, the dream he was meant to live — gone, never to return. His only solace now? The darkness. The devil’s fruit that granted vindication, substituted for salvation...Vengeance.
Watching the youth with reserve the nurse finally spoke up, timid, but with resolution, she attempted to ease the tension, “So, ff-fir— Ahem. So, first place, huh? Praise Omni, your folks must be proud. What are you going to do with that grand prize?”
The question worked as a grounding mechanism, bringing Sasuke back to the moment. He turned away from the mirror, studied the nurse for a moment in silence, and finally answered, “That’s easy. I’m going to--“
A voice sounded out of sight, interrupting the shinobi, “That answer and more! We’ll all find out, once we get our champion here to the press room, so that he may address all the fine viewers at home. Come now, we don’t have much time, and there is much to do.”
Turning to the voice, Sasuke observed a handsome man in his early thirties, dressed in a gaudy, three piece purple suit. His features were angular and his face was dominated by a set of deep, penetrating blue eyes, whilst his accent and general persona evoked that of a southern gentleman. Sasuke didn’t recognize him by appearance, but he knew him instantly. This man was none other than Karl Jak himself.
Like a pimp with a cowboy’s drawl. Only in the Omniverse folks.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
Chrystal stared at the weirdo who had kidnapped her somehow and was rambling on about an omniverse or something. She wasn't tied up or anything, but she couldn't bring herself to punch his lights out for some reason. Omni handed her a glimmering, multicolored orb, and she accepted it unthinkingly.
Quote:"This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."
What she desired most at that moment was to take his Omnilium and smash his face in with it, but she didn't think that that was what he was talking about.
Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn."
“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

Quote:Continued from Big Apple, 3PM
Ditto's majestic wings beat the virtual air, propelling him high above the information superhighway, or so Enigma called it. Pidgeot's form allowed the duplicitous informant to ride on his back, but there was no trusting her. She was only here because she knew where the rogue soldier had gotten to, and even then that was a tenuous reason. Ditto was fully prepared for another betrayal; perhaps she would lead him into a corrupted area of the Dataverse, trapping him for all time; an ambush may be prepared, ready to leap out on command to kill him; he had no inkling. Ditto had tried transforming into a psychic type in order to read her mind, but either his powers were on the fritz or Enigma knew how to deflect his intrusions.
Indeed, even now, Ditto's real body sat inert at a Coruscant terminal, his brain plugged into the Dataverse, enabling his consciousness to virtually occupy it. Enigma was in a similarly exposed position, but she wasn't one to leave things to chance. She would have some sort of backup or escape plan. Yet Ditto had forced her to the terminals and made her show him the way with brute strength. Unless she had a contingency for being kidnapped, she wouldn't have had time to organise anything. Ditto should at least be safe.
In any case, all he knew was that to trust Enigma was suicide.
And yet there they were, cutting through the sky that didn't really exist, a black river flowing in both directions, random streams diverting off on tangents, leading further into the bowels of the Dataverse. Ditto didn't like being in here. It felt strangely surreal, having his consciousness pumped into a set of ones and zeroes. He felt present in the same way as if in a dream; he was there, but not altogether tangible. The Dataverse did an admirable job of simulating gravity and movement, but there was something in every step, in every flap of his wings that just felt ... wrong. Ditto didn't want to tarry in this digital realm longer than he had to. It made his already foul mood even worse.
"Pfft! Dammit, can you not grow these stupid feathers?" Enigma whined, pulling on the luxurious yellow and pink feathers that crested Ditto's head.
"Stop putting your face in them and it won't be a problem!" Ditto snapped. He still hadn't completely settled after their run-in at the warehouse. If she had held out a second longer when he had her in his Machamp bear hug, there would've been a good chance that she would be dead by now. "If you'd rather walk, I can turn upside down."
"Oh yes, you talk tough. But if I'm a splatter on the highway, I'll be kicked back out into the real world and you won't be finding your AWOL soldier now, will you?" Ditto couldn't see her, but he could feel that damn smug grin that Enigma wore whenever she won an argument against him.
Once I've got my mobile Dataverse device, all bets are off.
Ditto increased his altitude to fly over the top of a monstrous building that jutted out of the ground, wielding such importance as to divert the information superhighway around it, the two roads rejoining on its other side.
Ditto looked down as they soared overhead. "What is that?"
"The Dataverse Library," Enigma said, unimpressed. "A lot of data in there. Maybe even all data ever."
Ditto humphed. "Sounds like your sort of place."
"Not the sort of information I deal in." A silent moment went by, then, "hey, I've been meaning to ask ... how did you do that trick back at the warehouse? Your clone?"
Ditto laughed. "Do you really think I'd divulge that information to you, of all people? Not a Vanillite's chance against an Arcanine."
"I don't know what that means," Enigma said. He decided not to enlighten her.
"So what can we expect when we run into the rogue soldier?" Ditto asked.
"What you'd expect," Enigma said. "Tough, trained in combat, well armed, strong convictions. It'll be hard talking him down, and even harder beating him down."
They continued on their lazy path in the skies until Ditto felt a tap on his back.
"See that road going north east?" Engima said. "Follow it."
Ditto veered right and shadowed the curve of the off ramp. An archway housed a blue, fluctuating portal a short distance from the main highway, and the traffic passed through. Nothing appeared out the other side of the archway; indeed, there was no road after it.
"Through there?" Ditto asked.
"Through there."
Ditto flattened his wings against his sides and dove. The wind whipped about his aerodynamic form, his crest feathers flailing wildly. He felt Enigma's fingers tense and wrap painfully around tufts of his feathers as they fell like an arrow at the end of its flight. It smarted a little, but Ditto grinned internally at Enigma's discomfort. It was petty and vindictive, but dammit Ditto was enjoying himself.
As the rooves of the vehicles on the road zoomed up to meet them, Ditto flared his wings and hooked into effortless sailing, entering the portal.
The shimmering, water like surface of the portal faded from Ditto's vision. Through the other side, a sprawling city appeared before them. Ditto spread his wings and rose on the simulated air currents, leaving the traffic to roll on.
The city wasn't very impressive. The entire segment, or program, or application, or whatever, seemed to be built solely for this run-of-the-mill place. Ditto skirted around its edges, inspecting. A densely populated city, but industrial, polluted, lacking in presentation and detail that would make it seem like a decent place to live. A grimy, crowded concrete jungle. Why would anyone want to visit such a place when anything could be done in a digital world?
Ditto's wing cut through a cloud of smog billowing from a steel mill chimney. "This is where the elusive soldier is hiding? It doesn't appear to be all that clandestine."
"There's a lot more garish places than this, be sure of that," Enigma said, coughing. "It's little to do with where he's hiding and more to do with how he's hiding."
Ditto reminded himself of the importance of staying on guard. "Elaborate."
"We're in the Dataverse. We're here, as in a virtual representation of ourselves, and for most people they appear here as their mind believes them to look in the real world. But if you know some tricks, you can physically enter the Dataverse while looking like someone completely different."
"Nifty skill," Ditto said, "but that wouldn't explain why the Empire couldn't find the soldier. Surely a fleeting avatar modification wouldn't be enough to throw off their trackers."
"Entering physically doesn't technically make you an avatar. You are here, so you are you. But you're right. It isn't enough. Let's just say that he ... had help."
Ditto grunted. "From you?"
Enigma chuckled. "No. Not from me."
"I know your name is Enigma, but you don't have to live up to it whenever you're asked a question."
"Look, just know that when we find him, we're going to encounter resistance."
"Really?" Ditto said. "And here I was thinking he'd just hand himself over."
"He's in hiding with a dangerous bunch," Enigma said. "And that's ignoring the fact that the soldier himself is not to be underestimated. This is not going to be an easy fight."
Ditto didn't answer, but he thought as much. He was confident, though. His powers were slowly returning; with each day, a new form returned to his suite of choices, opening up new avenues of combat. A soldier with some nerdy friends wouldn't stand up to the ultimate power of Ditto.
"So, can we go to him now?" Ditto asked. "I want to get in and out of here as quickly as possible. There is still too much to be done in the real world."
He caught himself. Real world? Kanto was the real world. The Omniverse was some twisted perversion he had been forced into. In no sense should he consider it 'real.'
Enigma's voice was cold and low. "I have a feeling he might be coming to us."
"What?"
"Missile! Over there!"
Ditto looked around. "Over where? I can't see where you're pointing!"
"Three o'clock and down!"
Ditto adjusted his gaze and a silver cylinder spewing fire and smoke rushed towards them. Ditto banked hard to the left, Enigma's grip on his feathers ripping at the stems. He felt the heat and wind of the missile roast over his exposed stomach as he regained control and swung around. The missile continued off into the distance.
"What the hell was that?!" Enigma screamed. "You almost threw me off!"
"Oh yes, sorry," Ditto said absently, his keen vision scanning the landscape beneath, searching for the beginning of the rapidly fading smoke trail. "Next time I'll be sure to fly directly into a rocket to avoid flustering you for three seconds."
She didn't respond. Point: Ditto.
The ground below was littered with skyscrapers and high rise apartment buildings. The smoke trail hinted at the position of their attacker, but the second missile really helped Ditto nail the spot.
Much more alert this time, Ditto swerved from the projectile's trajectory and dove down. Pidgeot's enhanced vision picked out every little detail from such a distance that Ditto wondered why he didn't transform into the bird Pokemon whenever he needed to find something. On top of a apartment building, dropping a rocket launcher to the ground to reload it, was his foe.
Ditto spread his wings outwards and coasted to the roof. Enigma hopped off immediately, a scowl written into her face. Ditto didn't care; he had more important things to concern himself with.
"You there," Ditto said. "Seems you have a problem with my aerial sightseeing tour."
His attacker hoisted the bazooka onto his thick, metal arm and aimed down the sights. His prosthetic red eye glistened in the light.
It was the bounty hunter he encountered on Tier 1.5.
"A talking bird, huh? Funny. A much smaller bird told me you might be here. Maybe you know her?"
Ditto looked around. Enigma was gone.
"Shit."

Caira had crossed the Nexus calmly and ventured through the portal, sacrificing a little time to get to her next destination. The girl passed through the blank slate and merged into the next verse, a glittering, cold, and dreary bustle along with freshly frosted air nipping at her cheeks.
The Camelot soldier’s eyes slowly traced the immortal city, taking it all in. The prodigal pillars of buildings gleamed with wealth and beauty. They had both the lavish and grandiose decor of technology’s simple and pleasure-filled comforts. Strange forms of buzzing transport zoomed by overhead, humming like beetles before swiftly whipping tornadoes of spiraling air into the cascading walls. One figure emerged from the portal and nearly shoved the monk out of the way, “Why aren’t you taking a Sky-Taxi!” The male said into the black, two inch device in his ear; his expression soured by the complete ignorance of whomever he was speaking to and hailed one for himself.
The monk had been curious enough to visit the new land and now that she had, immediately she noticed the metro's refined sense of style. While it was flashing with glowing lights, howls of sirens, and the many murmurs of a thousand footsteps, it lacked something that she could not quite place. The thought remained as the word rolled like a top, spinning ungracefully on the tip of her tongue.
Purpose, perhaps that was the word. They were already - to her knowledge - dominating the Omniverse and surmounting Camelot with their sovereignty. “They” being the people of Coruscant, or perhaps simply the leader, dictator - or rather, Emperor - Palpatine, as she would come to know in the later findings of her adventures. The alarming sense of aspiration instilled in the individuals seemed to be lacking beyond their charismatic exterior.
Everyone’s shoes clicked hollow echoes against the ground.
CLICK! CLACK! CLICK!
But each made the same brisk sound. After a few moments of wondering how this could be, the Prime waved the thought away, the reason she was here was NOT to analyze the philosophies of these rogue mercenaries, but actually just to have a non-threatening look around at Camelot's competition.
The vibrant low hues of glistening city light flickered with curiosity, as if blinking at the arrival of someone who had never witnessed such exclusively elite technology. This thriving technology was the power of an economy that could be used to enrich, enforce, dominate, and assist the many verses. Coruscant, how was it’s potential being realized? To what extent of these had its fate been fulfilled? Of any of this, the technology-lacking monk hadn’t a clue.
...
Less than a day. That was the time it took for Caira to wander into a shop after being swept away by a beautiful melody of keyed piano music softly fall upon her ears. The interior of the store had no visible merchandise, and the walls glowed with light and small squares which she determined either stored the commodities or showed a three-dimensional picture of what item they were selling on a square screen.
Caira asked the woman, who in response, gave her a swooping and sizing gaze. A hinting smile lined her lips as the clerk determined the girl was a tourist and almost undeniably a Prime. Confidence streaked in every flamboyant gesture the woman could make. Everything in the store was sure to be considered a treasure to someone who looked like this tourist did: Uncollected. While Caira’s gushing dark attire didn’t exactly match the sleek theme of the city, that could be quickly fixed, the clerk was convinced she could make a sale to the the black clad Prime and began with the sale's pitched soliloquy on her store’s best designer attire.
“Oh, I actually just came in for the mus-”
“I have the perfect thing, wait here.”
The obedient Prime politely waited with a rather unsatisfactory expression crumpling her face. A strange looking suit was unveiled and it appeared as though it would fit only directly on top of her skin. “It’s even slightly reinforced for battle prone Primes.” The clerk’s informative voice fell on tone-deaf ears as she directed her gaze to the senselessly bewildered girl.
With a bit of persuasion, Caira tried it on.
The black fabric clung to her skin and then added heat to combat this chilly city climate, “Oh! That’s the temperature feature! It has a few settings, too hot and sunny for you? Cool down with this.” the stranger seemed to fiddle with it with tinkering fingers before finally the woman rested, her eyes beholding the glory of a completely "transformed" woman, now ready for the world.
Caira twisted an arm, and the fabric melded with her skin. It was lighter than air. It also felt like she was nude, an uncomfortable feeling for a monk who had never worn anything but a gown that was twelve sizes too big and[/] made for an all male monastery. “It’s called the Black-Zero. Or if you like nicknames [i]Celty. I sold one to a ninja from Tangled just the other day!” The pitching saleswoman continued with her banter, attempting to sell the luxury product, yet Caira, whom considered this extent of technology more sorcery than science, placed a tracing fingertip upon the thin fiber and glanced to the woman, raising concerns that it would not be a match to a sword that would meet her skin.
Deliberating its flexibility and with the help of the lady, Caira did a few tests to see if it would limit her movement in a challenging combat scenario. The sleek fabric covered her skin rather well and repelled, according to the woman, the most intense heat and would last longer in a furnace than most steel compounds. “It truly is elite technology, some call it the ultimate armor because its so thin, yet pliable AND durable.” Her eyes still fell over the thin seems in black, it was[i] a masterful piece of attire. Technological warfare even, and yet, Caira still harbored doubt.
Suddenly the woman pulled out a weak-looking carbine gun and shot her three times in the abdomen with blasts of energy rather than lead bullets. Caira gasped in belated horror as the suit absorbed the impact and left no scratches on the shining attractive mold.
“You could have killed me!” Caira seemed aghast and too quickly was her temperate neutrality set off.
“Oh you needn’t worry, you’re a [i]Prime after-all! And this... Just a prop.” The woman winked and during this time Caira stole the carbine and fired it at the window. Alarms sounded and the clerk grew frightful before her frazzled expression and frizzled hair quelled a bit.
After shaking off a few of the jitters and after procuring a remote, the woman clicked off the alarm and turned to the girl with her best game-face. “However with a little work, it'll protect you from fatal injuries with a built-in shock balancer.”
"Uh..." Caira was getting sick of the endless babble coming from the woman. Materialism seemed prioritized in this town, but the monk took this moment to be honest with the clerk, whose expression wrinkled with disgust after the Prime spoke the following words, “I was interested in the music playing when I entered this store.” Caira persisted, “Not in buying something with technology I can barely fathom.”
“Oh? You enjoy classical? Surprising.” The snarky woman looked at Caira’s previous troglodyte -esque attire, laid on a table and thought differently. “Yes, you’re not from around here are you?” the cheery woman stated the facts, enjoying them with a flaunting, haughty annoyance.
“Will you-” Caira began before the woman pulled out a shiny looking MP3 player, with headphones and earbuds.
“This is a device that plays music. Its also waterproof!”
The Prime blinked. She expected an instrument that produced sound to be bigger than a lute. Reading the monk's flummoxed expression, she continued, “Ah, but it is bigger on the inside.”
Plopping the two white cords in her ears, Caira’s jaw dropped to show that she was astounded. What the woman had said was true and never had she heard a more beautiful sound than Tchaikovsky. It was a soothing symphonic rhythm, ringing with its ups and downs and conducted by a wonderful symphony of carefully place cues.
"If you buy the suit, you can have the Ipod for free."
Inevitably, Caira ended up purchasing the sleek upgraded attire and as promised, the music player was a ‘free gift’ now stored it in her out of place satchel that was still heavy with the weight of books. Before she left the store, the lady explained some of the built-in gadgets of the suit before sending off her victim. The Prime was happy to have found the place, because not only did the saleswoman explain some of the mechanisms involved in the city's technology she also had explained it in a very simple way, easy enough for someone that was 'living under a rock' could understand. Information and secrets were practically their own currency in Coruscant, at least, for people with social or political positions, the woman had mentioned and told Caira that she looked very attractive in her new attire on her way out of the doors.

Say prime A is working in a group to help safeguard this fortress. A very strong prime - we'll call him prime B - busts into the area he's guarding. the ritual going on in the center of the fortress is actually nearly done - Just a biit more time is needed. Prime A knows he doesn't have fair odds on taking out Prime B, but he's definitely capable of stalling.
If this situation came up - where, in a fight between two primes, one wishes to retreat mid-battle or otherwise work without the intention of a straight win or loss, but rather has retreat on the brain, is this possible in the current game system?
