Legacy & War [Base Assault; LAW vs. New Babylon] Discussion
Posted by: Thaal Sinestro - 11-14-2015, 10:43 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (369)

Yo, so this is GOIN DOWWWWN! Wooo, Hype train for both sides! WOOOO.

I'll be adding combatants as they arrive. We have a few peopel who desire to be invovled, but they have work schedules etc that may or may not prevent them from joining. They were all in the Dunes, in the area of Nippur when the Base Assault began, so we aren't looking to cheat and pull in people from other verses/across the map.

LAW:
Sinestro
Orion
Dean Winchester
Proto Mouse
Gildarts
Stewie Griffin
GANONDOOOORRRF

NEW BABYLON
Shay Cormac
Erik Vrell
Victor Wolfe
Agnès
Gilgamesh
Demetri
Tom Riddle

We're still looking for a judge, so I suppose throw your name in the hat if you want to (along with how you'd plan on managing this ABJECT CHAOS).

There are a few posts that a few other people are gonna make that aren't gonna mess with the narrative of the scene, but yeah, no blood has been shed as of yet. Talk, or not talk, or whatever.

Legacy & War (Battle of Nippur)
Posted by: Thaal Sinestro - 11-14-2015, 10:02 PM - Forum: The Endless Dunes - Replies (58)

Sinestro smirked after a seeming eternity of waiting. “I see, and I suppose you’ll know just exactly what blow will kill me, do you?” He crossed his arms and his eyebrow quirked up, “Perhaps I am made of less hardy stuff than you imagine. Maybe the first blow will doom me to a slow and painful death?” His used his thumb to gently push up the brim of his wide hat. “Or perhaps the Omniverse had made you weaker than you thought.”

Orion’s scowl cut a little deeper into his face, and Sinestro knew his words had found the tip of a thread which he would slowly unravel. “I suppose we’ll find out then,” the saiyan said calmly, his stern demeanor pushing down the pangs of emotion that had bubbled up.

“I suppose we shall.” The wind blew between them, sand swirling in the midday sun. “Then let it begi-“

“INCOMING TRANSMISSION,” the ring’s scratchy voice interrupted.

Sinestro faltered, glancing down to his ring. Her sneered and glanced between the device and his opponent before sighing and stepping back. “One moment,” he groaned and lifted his ring. “Play transmission.”

A small rectangle of transparent yellow energy flashed up from the ring, a hologram of the message slowly scrolling in front of his eyes. “Ah, it’s Dean,” he affirmed to Orion.

“What?” the man balked, “Why is he already sending you a message? Did he not just leave?”

Sinestro shook his head, “My understanding is that time moves… strangely in the Omniverse. Might make seem like weeks may be only hours somewhere else. To the ring’s knowledge, there is no pattern to this time distortion.”

Orion shook his head and stepped his legs apart, folding his hands in front of him. “Yet another oddity to add to the list.”

Sinestro read through the message quickly, and then spoke a brief reply. Dismissing the message, he turned back to the one-eyed warrior that was patiently waiting for his attention. “Seems he’s found a powerful weapon from his home universe.”

“Fantastic,” Orion said dryly, clearly growing impatient.

Squinting, the korugaran enforcer summoned a glowing, golden aura around himself. “Now, where were we?”

Orion stomped back into a broad fighting stance and clenched his fists. With a grunt, a pale blue flame erupted around his body, his ki lapping at the air in broad strokes. “Right about here.”

The deputy reveled at the man’s power, unable to draw his mind from the man’s potential. “Perfect.”

A glint shined in Sinestro’s eye and the image of a weapon slowly formed in his mind, the conduit of his power allowing it to take shape in reality. The familiar feeling of his lever-action rifle pressed into his shoulder, the yellow construct perfectly replicating his memory of his faithful weapon. The bolt churned as he chambered a bullet of pure energy and he slowly began to squeeze down the trigger.

“INCOMING TRANSMISSION,” the ring barked, jolting him from his focus, the weapon dematerializing.

Gritting his teeth, the Lantern’s aura dissipated, and he shouted into his clenched fist, “Disable all non-urgent communications!”

“MESSAGE PRIORITY: NEW ORDERS.”

Confounded by the implications, he furrowed his eyebrows and held his hand up to Orion. “I apologize, Orion. It appears the message is urgent.”

The saiyan snapped his arms down, and his ki snapped out in an agitated huff. “Get on with it, then!”

The ring took the unspoken command from its wielder, and began to play the message.

“Greetings, sai Deputy. I have need of your eye and wit; a new Prime has entered town. He called hi’self ‘Proto Mouse,’ and I have heard whispers that he’s but two men merged together. They call that ‘fusion,’ in these lands, do ya ken it? A bit of poking has told me that he is a Prime named Mickey Mouse, famous name in these parts and any other, and Proto Man, the one that cured that Blight of the Greens.

“Be wary, Deputy, but test his intentions. He talks of wanting to help, and we need every warm body we can pile. I expect you to get this done right quick, kennit?”

Sinestro looked up to Orion, appraising the man’s reaction. He didn’t seem pleased. Shaking his head, the deputy shrugged. “I suppose this will have to wait. I’m more than happy to reconvene after this… training.”

“Hrmph,” the agitated saiyan spat, “So be it.”
Nodding, the lantern walked back to his companion’s side, “I would tend to agree.” Once again, his body was coated in a yellow sheen, and he left the ground. “Now let’s find this Proto Mouse.”

Soaring into the air, the lantern loomed over the city, staring down upon it as he searched for the visitor. The glint of the metal mouse’s armor was noticed only after Sinestro saw the already sparse inhabitants intentionally avoiding his path. Once he saw the creature, he had a hard time blaming them.

The Corps-founder was more than used to the strange and horrible shapes that beings from other worlds, or in this case other realities, could take. While the giant mouse wasn’t particularly wretched to look at, he certainly didn’t look “normal” by Omniverse standards and the simple folk that made up the inhabitants of the town weren’t quite prepared for a giant cyborg rodent to be strolling through their streets.

Orion casually drifted up beside Sinestro, sharing his gaze. He blinked slowly, and looked back to the man that had drug him along into this mess. “Really?”

The mouse looked up at the pair, offered a wide grin and waved up to them excitedly. The distant sound of his cheerful laughter rang in their ears. Sinestro sighed, “Really.”

The duo drifted down, landing on the street beside each other, both with sharp-edged expressions and arms crossed over their chests. Proto Mouse trotted over to them with a skip of excitement. “Are you the Deputy?” he asked, his voice seeming to echo itself in two distinct tones.

“I am,” Sinestro replied, taking a moment before he offered out his hand. “My name is Sinestro.”

“Proto Mouse,” the hybrid replied, taking up the deputy’s offer with both hands and shaking firmly. “The Sheriff said you would be the man to see about lending a helping hand?”

“Well, right now we’re recovering from a bandit attack, so I feel that most of the things we can do right now are rather munda-“

“INCOMING TRANSMISSION.”

Sinestro’s fists clenched hard enough for his knuckles to crack. “Pardon me,” he attempted to say cordially through gritted teeth. He turned and held the ring up, silently commanding another hologram to pop up.

“Dean again,” he reported. This time, his attention was caught. He turned back to the two men and read through the message again. “It appears that you have fortuitous timing, Proto Mouse. It appears that one of our members has located a bit of trouble near a large, unidentified city.”

“Is it Carrefore?” Orion interjected.

He shook his head, “No, Dean and I have been to Carrefore, he would be able to identify it.”

The cyborg chirped in, “Well, maybe it’s Nippur then. A fella named Gilgamesh has a city out here. I, well, I guess half of me, competed with him in Dante’s Abyss!” A sour expression grew over his face, “Killed a lot of my friends. He’s a real piece of work.”

The wheels churned in his mind for a moment before things fell into place, “Ganondorf, Eighteen and Strazio were headed to see a man named Gilgamesh. Strazio and Ganondorf seemed to have a bone to pick with him.” He looked up to the two men that stood around him, “It’s possible that they’ve run into trouble.” The saiyan and the lantern shared a glance between each other. “Perhaps this warrants our investigation,” the deputy said carefully.

Orion nodded, “I can’t think of a much better proving ground than a fight on foreign soil.”

“Maybe it won’t come to that,” the lantern interjected, “but I will not tolerate a force of chaos in these dunes. I will not allow anything or anyone to stand against our allies.” A darkness came to his voice at the conclusion of his statement, and anyone could hear the seriousness of his intention.

The mouse narrowed his eyes and leaned in, “Be careful with that! He manipulated everyone in the Abyss, that’s how he got his team to win.”

“Hrm,” the lantern pondered. “I would still prefer to avoid needless chaos, if possible.” He allowed a sinister smile to creep over his face, “Perhaps they just need the fear of the LAW put into them.”

  Civilization: Beyond Omniverse
Posted by: Rubick - 11-14-2015, 08:13 PM - Forum: The Arcade - Replies (60)

I have a REALLY freaking dumb idea that might just be hilarious.

There's a small fad in the Civilization community that involves letting the AI control their nations and fight bouts against themselves without player interference. With some mods to configure a decent setup, it's possible to sim an entire game in this fashion as you monitor the world with your submarine under the shadows of packed ice, meaning player control is essentially nil.

Here's where the Omniverse comes in. People who want to join in this little experiment can post their characters and the names of what they want their empire and title to be (for example, Rubick, Grand Magus of The Society).

I'll put everyone who joins in in command of a nation. Starting positions and the characteristics of the AI will be randomized and impartial. I can then provide screenshots of major events as I sim the conflict in my free time. I'm still deciding whether it'll be completely Domination victory or if there'll be other victories enabled, but rest assured it should be interesting depending on who joins.

Also this might not even work...but...no reason not to try. SCIENCE DEMANDS IT!

Step 1: Make a post. This post should be at least 600 words. You may also post multiple times adding up to 600 words or more.

Step 2: Click on the name of your post. See it? It's probably something like 'Re: The Story of John Doe', a large line of text above your post. This should have a hashtag and your post link at the end of it (see the bolded part on the end here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1114&p=7298#p7298). Copy the entire URL from your address bar.

Step 3: Post it in the active fortnightly gains topic. The date of your post should be within the date range, GMT. If you are submitting multiple posts that add up to 600, post all the links.

Step 4 (optional): If you have posted in the current book club, please include a link to that post along with the text 'book club'.

Step 5 (optional): If you have a Recognition bonus, please include in your post 'Recognition bonus: +50'. If you have an Ascendancy bonus, please post with 'Ascendancy bonus: +100'.

That's all you need to do! When the topic is updated, you will be given 300 OM. Obviously if you have a recognition or ascendancy bonus, this will be increased by 50 or 100. A book club bonus will increase this by a further 100. If no mod has posted at the end of the topic, then it hasn't been updated yet. You do not need to ask "has the thread been updated? I didn't get my OM" every week.

New fortnightly gains topics go up every second Sunday at midnight (at the end of Saturday and the dawn of Sunday) GMT. The valid time begins on Sunday at 0000 hours GMT and ends on Saturday at 2359 GMT.

  Does it taste like honey?
Posted by: Blue Eyes - 11-14-2015, 05:54 PM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (3)

Atonement stepped forth and entered through the west gate. The gate that were guarded by the Stormtroopers on the two sides. They had watched himtransform into the thing he was now, a cloaked figure of pitch black design. As the light took Atonement he couldn't help but think it funny. The pure darkness with the man of white, Omni. Him being a man pitch black entering a pure white scene. When finally the light no longer flooded his visions he'd be set into a world beyond recognition, Atonement stepping back heavily as shock overtook him visibly for the first time. What was this hell before him?

Hunny following in pursuit would notice Atonement being in a slight shock at the scene and not knowing why he'd look with his bunny Usa in tow, clung tight in the grip of his arms. A sky that appeared clean and pure well overhead, the heavens were dotted by the vehicles that could only be described as "Futuristic". Flying cars? No sign of jet planes though. Ships that were taking off for the worlds beyond and entering alike to land on elevated platforms connecting to skyscrapers that almost seemed to shine in the most formal presence of glass and steel. The entrance of the portal left them overlooking the Tier one of Coruscant where the buildings towered into the distance starting from the nearest of paths and ending at even the greatest horizons. Signs showing advertisements were in plain sight all wanting their attention. Theme Park Here! Best Pie This Side Of The Galaxy! Collectables This Way! Get Your Souvenir Here!

Hunny's eyes lit with a little excitement over the glorious scene before them, but so too kept near to Atonement as the place was unknown. The thoughts at the back of his mind still tickling with the simple word that there was need to get back home. However what side of Hunny would win over would surely show soon enough. Perhaps his desire for sweets? An inquisitive nature? Or need for information on which way was his ticket home? Then again his new friend would probably handle it without problems and where he might miss Mori and Haruhi-chan the situation now was also an opportunity. A chance to let someone else handle it while he relaxed. Atonement's views were not so beautiful however.

As Hunny's eyes were able to focus on signs and attractions, taking note of a few soldier here and there yet throwing it off as peacekeeprs Atonement could only focus on that and the dangers. The skies were littered with human machines that could fall upon their heads in an instant, the streets were swarmed with people who obviously were armed to the teeth with weapons Atonement did not know and could not understand. Weird little devices turned in every corner, watching them, watching others. They were under observation- no... The entire world was under observation wasn't it? Yes...That was more the case...

The humans here have torn scars into the earths so deep and killed this planet long ago surely. This thriving utopia where plant life is given rights and privileges only on choice location? Where the world had surely been torn apart to steal it's metals, it's scraps, it's gems, everything. This was probably a utopia built upon the screams and cries of despair sounding from the world of the spirits. And for what? That same utopia being where man must control man? A realm where people had to keep others under their thumb. Between the hood and his pure black flesh no one could see the tears coming down Atonement's face. He too had been a man of evils. A creature of nightmares. But how was it humans could always find a way to trump him...

Taking in a deep breath Atonement would hold it for a moment before exhaling, stepping forward towards the nearest stationed stormtrooper, not wiping the tears but thanks to the darkness of the hood and black flesh they'd not appear anyways. "You're a soldier of this world. Are you not? Could you explain the Currencies, Rules, and Regulations of this land?" But there was something to note. Atonement was acting...Not politely. But with at least some level of manners. Atonement would gather information and gain the knowledge of their Credit System. Though it took some discussion it seemed that a bartering system was also available to certain visiting primes? He had never heard that term before but did not press into the matter. Atonement had gained enough on learning the basics at least.

Same old same old. Concern over theft, concern over violent acts, concern over trespassing in restricted areas, concern over one thing and concern over another. How it always seemed to be the same rules on even a different day. When finally Atonement came to a seat with Hunny he'd sit down with the boy still in tow and pull out another fraction of Omnilium. He paid focus on it, heavily enough at least as it slowly took shape. He had learned enough to know what he needed to know, no one able to tell what attention he had. He was focused now though. Focused on details. 1 Ounce. A Singular weight. Multiplied x 1000. Weight value 2.4xP. Leather bag. Thicker. Draw string. A solid tie. Before long a bag would finally come into full detail made of a basic leather and drawstring containing one thousand pristine gold cubes each weighing exactly one ounce with a total value of an estimated 12-13 credit. Figuring instead to provide this value to a lower rate of 10 credit the bag's content would value at a total of 10,000 credit worth the trade with a profit margin total value of 2000-3000 credit towards the benefit of the person willing to barter. At the idea of 1 credit being worth 60 cents in USD a single one of the 1000 cubes would be worth simply 6 dollars.

However the bag was formed closed up so Hunny would not know it's contents. Taking it at hand he'd tuck it into his robe formed by an outstretched transformed layer of skin to mimic cloths, an inner fold stretching and wrapping around the bag, retaining a sense of touch and hold around it. With that Atonement would rise, looking down at Hunny with his own eyes unable to be seen. Being five foot and eight inches in this transformed state he had a small height factor taken back to his favor, not one to look up to anyone. Especially not a kid. But Atonement would say nothing yet. Almost as if he knew his own paths and old requirements. He had to find information here. With this bag of cubes however? Perhaps they could find some interesting tools to purchase too. To study. To learn.

Atonement would step forward towards the crowd and leave Hunny to follow. "Keep an eye open for things of interest...Things of worth...And people who are the same. Otherwise we'll never get anywhere...I'm going to keep mine open for a place of knowledge. A place of study...Perhaps history can tell us more." No swearing. No anger. Not since they went through the portal. Was it an act or the real Atonement? Was it ultimately even the same person?

  The Omniverse Bar (Non-Canon)
Posted by: Undyne - 11-14-2015, 01:18 PM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (85)

Quote:Okay, this is kind of a silly thing, let's see if it kicks off or not!

This thread would be a giant open bar where we all can meet in a semi-IC fashion. It's not a part of the main Omniverse in that you don't earn OM for posting here and (this is the fun part) you don't have to play your character the same way as you would in the main Omniverse. Archrivals could be best friends here, Diablo could come around for some fine wine and have a friendly arm-wrestling contest with some Prime because why not.

Feel free to post here while waiting for other participants to post, for a fight to be graded or while you respawn.

LAYOUT
A simple tavern bar consisting of a single large square room. There's a door on one wall which even giant individuals will magically fit through of if they want, and two windows on that same wall for people to peek in. On the opposite side of that is the counter with several kegs of varied drinks lined up behind it. There's also a door leading to the kitchen and basement with more drinks, which magically refill so they never run out.
The area between the door and the counter is filled with chairs and tables for people to sit down, get comfy with their drinks and chit-chatter.
On the right of the door (and the left of the counter) is a large stage which is open for anyone who would want to perform - be it musically, a comedy, theater or whatever. But no poledances or the like.
On the left side of the door, opposite of the couch, right of the counter, are several couches for people to be lazy on - or enjoy the show from the opposite side of the room.
Small demons (imps) in aprons are constantly running around on and off the counter, tending to people's wishes and orders.

RULES
-No fighting (as in actual combat). Make a mock fight thread for those. "Silly" combat like throwing chairs around or whatever is fine.
-No killing/banishing. Kind of ties into the non-combat rule. If you DO kill or banish, the other person's allowed to instantly respawn (walk back in) or escape (same thing).
-Keep to the non-canon! Characters who have met in here will not know each other in the Omniverse, or know anything about a character that they have seen in the bar (like moves or such). The other way around is okay.
-Have fun! <== Very important! :balls:

"Dum de duuum..." Alexyana hummed to herself as she hung up the big sign in the shape of a beer keg above the entrance and returned inside to get the bar counter polished up. The sign was flipped to "Open", the drinks were lined up, the glasses clean, the tables set and the chairs in place. All that was lacking were guests.

  Omniverse: Sims 3 Edition

Hey, so since I seem to be going bat-shit insane tonight, I'm gonna start up this stupid ass project that I will only update intermittently when I feel like it

BUT

Basically I'm gonna build a big-ass house in a Sims 3 town and throw a bunch of Primes in there and see what happens with as little interference as possible.

Maybe sometimes I'll post pictures, but most of the time it will just be a log of crazy AI bullshit.

IF THAT SORT OF THING INTERESTS ANYONE

and you want your Prime added to the house, just list the traits you want for them in here and I'll toss them in.

Keep in mind I only have the Sims 3 Pets expansion. >.>

DONT JUDGE ME.

Hi all! Ruby here!

Now, recently I have been drawing quite a few weapons for a fanfic I plan on writing about the webshow, 'RWBY' (No idea what that is? Go watch. Now. Stop reading these brackets and just go!)

So, because I want to draw more of then, I have decided I will take requests for weapons, and will draw them to the best of my ability, possibly digitalising them at a later point!

I anxiously wait your replies!

  Omniverse Crossover Pictures

We all love our characters, right? We also love everyone else's characters, right?! AND WE JUST LOVE CROSSOVERS, RIGHT??!!

Well, here you can post crossovers of your character/your character's universe!

Rules when posting are:
1. MUST be of or make a reference to your character or from your character's universe.
2. MUST ALSO contain or be a reference to another member's character or someone from their universe.
3. If someone has already posted a pic, to avoid repetitiveness, please don't post the same one!

Also, a handy idea might be putting '@' and whoever's character/universe is in your pic.

May update with further rules and suggestions later.
