  Omniverse THE MUSICAL
Posted by: Gildarts - 06-23-2016, 01:58 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (11)

WHY DID I NEVER THINK OF IT BEFORE?

Lately i've been listening to Hamilton and it's been fun! Musicals are sappy, and there's a lot of song, but you know, having a musical would be funny/spoof/silly

It's just an idea right now, so i'll bump this back up when I think of more details (or you could fuel my fire) anyway, probably going to go with more secondaries on this one, maybe the theater is in Camelot (minas tirith) and there's auditions, and a director !

Not sure the plot, or if I should go with some sort of Omniverse theme. Not sure of anything actually. HELP.

PLOT IDEAS SO FAR:

- (based off of) DA 1 and DA 2 combined - more double and triple roles, lots of summary, lots of research (The real question is would Karl Jak play Karl Jak?) --- Which would be acceptable upon Alex's permission.

-Omniverse timeline(?)/ Major events

The way -I imagine- it would work. I'd give you guys a basic outline, and might add in some general "chorus" to the song, but you'd have freedom as to the lyrics. As for the rest, you'd be given a role and I'll try do deal with most of the main details, ie, you'd get a script Big Grin

The casting part shouldn't be terrible, but I'd want everyone to have a fair shot, I don't want to say that people can't play their own character, but if you let someone else play it, it might help others get to know you and your character! ("true community roleplaying")

Interested parties: Hiro, Alexyana, Marcus, Mettaton, Chara

  Question for Participants
Posted by: Karl Jak - 06-22-2016, 07:11 PM - Forum: Dante's Abyss Junkyard - Replies (14)

Yo, I was considering doing power-rankings every other round to give people a sense of where they're at.

Given the fact that this would be OOC (unlike last DA, where it was obviously an IC done by Karl), I want to make sure people are chill with that.  I know that the folks doing Graveyard tried to do this, and some people got offended.  I want people to not be offended, so I wanted to check if that's chill.  So let me know here or in private.  I don't wanna do something that might frustrate people, but I know that some people like these sort of things for continual motivation.

Shout at me.

Quote:Gin
Remilia

“Quiet,” Remilia remarked as she dragged an unwilling Gin across the beach, through the fog-laced treeline, and about twenty feet into the forest.  It took a hard bump against a rock of some sort to jostle the redhead free from the little vampire with the surprisingly strong grip.

“We were building lean-tos!”  Gin declared as he glanced back in the direction they’d come from and then back to the small girl.

“We should be searching for things of value,” Remilia retorted as she pointed into the interior of the island.  “Surely there has to be some sort of mystery here.”

“I need to go help the others,” Gin apologized as he jogged back toward the beach.  Remilia followed him for a few moments before he came to an abrupt stop.

“What is it?”  The vampire inquired as she glanced around her kidnapped acquaintance and tried to see what had caused him to stop.

“It’s not…” Gin stepped off to the side and glanced down at the bare floor of the forest.  “It’s not there anymore.”

Remilia frowned.  “What isn’t?”

“The beach!  The plane wreck!”  Gin shouted as he stabbed at the ground.  Remilia looked down and saw that he was pointing to a strip of disturbed earth that formed a line from their present location all the way back to the rock.  It was the little trail that Gin had left behind as he struggled against her pseudo-abduction.  “This should be the edge of the forest.”  Gin mumbled as he took a few steps forward and tried to peer through what seemed to be a deepening fog around them.

“Perhaps we’ve just been turned around.”

Gin wasn’t buying it.  The man ran his hands through his hair and started to fret as a hundred thousand horrible scenarios made their way through his brain.

Switch Form: Darth Revan to Ascension
Posted by: Gwendolyn - 06-22-2016, 03:36 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (9)

Name: Ascension

Character Source: Mass Effect Original Character

Character History:

Ascension is a Reaper, a giant sentient machine made up of billions of deceased sentient minds, tasked with cleansing the galaxy every fifty thousand years. As far as anyone knows, the Reapers are as old as time itself, without beginning or end. There are no existing records of the Reapers, apart from a few Prothean artifacts. The first encounter the people of the galaxy had with a reaper was with Sovereign, the Vanguard of the Reaper armada, who was tasked to open the Citadel relay and start the harvesting cycle. And yet, after Sovereigns defeat, the Council denied the existence of Reapers, claiming that they were nothing but myth.

Years later, after several setbacks, the Reapers returned from dark space, the area between galaxies, and began the cycle. The Reapers conquered many worlds and slaughtered countless enemies, either turning them into husks or processing them to be made into Reapers themselves. During the Assault on Earth, Commander Shepherd made the choice to sacrifice himself to the Crucible, and in turn, that made the Reapers and Organics more akin to each other. With their key differences out of the way, Reapers began to uplift organic societies, rebuilding and repairing what was damaged.

Ascension was one of the Reapers assigned to the Quarian homeworld, Rannoch. Using the Reaper technology, the Quarian race began to rebuild their homeworld and begin the gradual process of acclimating to their world once more. It was at this point, Ascension was taken into the Omniverse by Omni.

Character Appearance:

As most Capital-Level Reaper ships look mostly the same, Ascension looks like most Reapers do, possessing four mechanical tentacle-like jointed legs and multiple glowing eyes. Upon his entry into the Omniverse, he is a fraction of the size he used to be, only twelve feet tall.

Starting Moves:

Magnetohydrodynamic Cannon(600):

The Reapers main gun, it is mounted in the spinal section of the machine. Built into the spinal column of the Reaper, the cannon looks like nothing more than a red "eye" whilst preparing to fire. It fires a ray of molten metals that congeal to form a white-hot metal projectile that is about a 3/4 of a foot wide, that travel at the speed of sound. The metals congeal and harden in mid-flight, and in the normal universe would have no trouble piercing most kinetic barriers. But upon entry into the Omniverse, it is considerably weaker. The beam itself can be fired as bursts, like a semi-automatic rifle, which require short periods of concentration,or a single maintained blast, which needs to be concentrated upon in the duration of the attack. The beam can be sustained for a total of ten seconds before it is forced to end. is a foot and a half wide and releases a small explosion, around seven feet in diameter at the Point of contact. It can be fired about twice a minute, as it needs time to cool down and prepare for the next shot. While charging for a blast, the eye of the cannon emits a red glow, and red electricity appears to surround it. If a direct hit is landed to the firing chamber whilst preparing to fire, it can be interrupted, and therefore prevented. The damage done to the opponent, depending on their DEF stat, ranges from minor to moderate damage. If not hit directly, the explosion causes onor damage, such as second-degree burns, and this effect is much worse if hit directly with the attack. This move can only be used ten times, in either fashion, without needing to remove itself from battle to rest. The maximum range in which it can be fired is thirty meters, and is weaker the farther it is fired. This move is not used with other moves, and cannot be used while moving.

Quote:Karl Jak
Christa
Red XIII
Chara
Cyborg
Judy Hopps

They'd come to stop following Christa's discovery of the dying survivor.

The woman and the dog were having something akin to a moment as Karl stood near the edge of the trees and watched silently.  He had zero interest in a bunch of rejects lamenting over some unlucky corpse.  His focus moved to Chara and Cyborg, who were a solid ten paces removed from one another.  The executive producer knew that the two had a rough history, so it amused him that they had someone wound up in the same little party with one another.  How long would it be until one of them decided to settle the score?  How many setbacks would have to befall their quaint little group before personal vendettas came screaming back to the forefront?

"I don't think we're going to find the other part of the plane," Karl remarked as he glanced up at the sky.  The clouds were too low, which meant it was impossible to see any sort of smog in the sky that might betray the final path of the jet.  "Chances are, it crashed into the ocean."

"We should keep looking," Judy the Bunny muttered as she walked away from Christa and turned to look at Karl.  "We might find others who could use our help."

Karl chuckled.  "You're here to help me, remember?  We should focus on finding a way to get in touch with Syntech Headquarters.  I don't know about any of you, but my tech isn't working."  To prove his honesty, he held up his phone to show that it was clearly complaining about a lack of network connections.  "This isn't where we were heading, and something tells me we probably don't want to be here."

"You got any ideas?"  Chara grumbled, her expression a twisted little sneer that spoke volumes about what must be going on in her dark little mind.

The executive shook his shoulders.  "Must be something on the island."

"How do you know?"  Red inquired, tilting his head to the side.

Karl, who had seen that same expression from dozens of house cats over his lifetime, stifled a laugh.  "Pussycat, I built this verse.  I made sure every island had some sort of connection with my headquarters.  Unless we all dropped straight into the Underverse, there's a bunker or a comm station somewhere.  We just got to find it."

  [2-8] The Campground
Posted by: Karl Jak - 06-22-2016, 02:42 PM - Forum: The Dante Verse - Replies (19)

Separated from the others, the hungover prime and the man responsible for his condition wandered deeper into the forest.  They'd moved silently for the last half an hour, but with the landscape around them unchanged, both were starting to feel a little concerned.

"Wonder where we are?"  Barry muttered as he tried to see through the fog.

"We're not lost," Hiro shot back as they manhandled their way through a series of rough bushes.  When they emerged on the other side, both men found themselves greeted by just a little bit more sunshine.

Unfortunately, they also found themselves staring at what seemed to be a small tribal village nestled into the jungle.  About six encampments comprised the settlement before them.  All the building were made from wood and had thatched roofs and walls.  The backwater architecture wasn't what concerned the pair of men.  Instead, they found themselves drawn to the variety of village decor made from butchered animals.

Sensing Barry's anxiety, Hiro cracked a smile.  "It's all good... it's not like they're..."

Before the hacker could finish his remark, both men heard screams as a group of mostly naked people dragged someone in Syntech clothes out from the trees at the other end of the village.  The man, dressed like a waiter, continued to wail at the top of his lungs even as the collection of men and women started to tear of pieces of his flesh and eat him alive.

"Fuck me."  Hiro mumbled as the two watched the tribe of cannibals feast on the Syntech employee.

"Poor Ralph," Barry whispered.  "Never knew anyone who could carry so many platters all at once..."
