Since Okor did something similar with Dominions, I figured I'd make a thread for Total War since that's just a thing in my life now.
The basics are simple: This is a suggestion-based playthough of Total War Warhammer:
In other words, you guys help dictate the stratagem of this campaign, and I will use pictures and text to inform you of how our progress goes.
For those interested, here's all the technical stuff regarding mods I'm going to use:
-No March stance (Should shorten how long it actually takes to do all the battles and because Keep-away with the AI isn't fun in the first place)
-Stupid Campaign Agents(Let's not get our favorite people assassinated on a percentage chance coin flip)
-Bretonnia faction mod(if we use the faction)
-Permanent Retinues (this is just my preference)
-Unjustly Harsh (tiny balance thing, rebalances some campaign traits)
-fanatic fix (fixes a bug where night goblin fanatics don't have upgrades applied correctly
other than that, probably won't have too many mods for our first time (unless a bunch of people push for one but I find it unlikely)
Anyways, the rules for what you can suggest are basically non-existent though I'll try to go with the general feel and votes of the omniverse group.
Before we start though, we have to choose a race, of course!
The choices are:
-The Empire:
![[Image: c3719e9ff2e86096f45fceba71f5780d.jpg]](https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/c3/71/9e/c3719e9ff2e86096f45fceba71f5780d.jpg)
A group of humans who long ago, with dwarven help, learned the secrets of gunpowder and steel. these are the "main" human faction in Total War Warhammer(and the only one playable in Vanilla), the empire is probably the friendliest faction, and utilizes a bunch of 17th century esque tech. If we pick this faction, expect a lot of diplomacy options and some cool magic, along with stuff like Halberdiers and swordsman, musketmen, armor-clad knights, and potentially armor-clad tanks.
also a magic laser maybe.
-Dwarfs
![[Image: med_gallery_6_39148.jpg]](http://www.bugmansbrewery.com/gallerypics/1178899826/med_gallery_6_39148.jpg)
The only nation with more cannons than the empire, the Dwarves are the other "good" vanilla faction. They have pretty much every stereotypical dwarven thing they can, Dwarves with Axes and hammers and ridiculous amounts of armor, combined with cannons, rifle-wielders, Gyrocopters, and flamethrowers/flame cannons. their units are solid and their artillery is good, but they are without cavalry and are generally slow.
They also boast the biggest tech tree and the most ways to fortify and improve the holds they take over. as a result if we take these guys we'll probably be taking the defensive game and fortifying all the holds we can.
-Bretonnia
![[Image: latest?cb=20150618011514]](http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammerfb/images/a/a5/The_Dark_Ages_of_Bretonnia.png/revision/latest?cb=20150618011514)
the other human nation... the French with pegasi.
no really, that's all the description I really need to give them. they are magic frenchpeople.
You want more? Fine...
This race is the other major human race, and is known for having strong cavalry(like the medieval french.). They rely on their cavalry which is incredible in this game, and their surprisingly effective-for-cost peasant archers. this is all held by a wall of spearman and shored up with yeoman for light cavalry.
(so... you know, the strategy france employs. is all I'm saying.)
They've got a lot of friends, an undead menace nearby they're required to destroy, and OP pegasus knights. they play very similarly to the empire economically, with their farms also doubling as money makers
-Vampire counts
![[Image: 3680507-1962655883-Vlad..jpg]](http://static3.comicvine.com/uploads/original/14/148983/3680507-1962655883-Vlad..jpg)
Imagine dracula. now imagine a bunch of people that act just like dracula. that's pretty much the vampire counts. these guys are very different from most races - they require vampiric corruption around them to move on enemy soil without suffering attrition but generate it like the dickens (and it's not good for anyone that isn't undead themselves.).
Their ability to replenish units and raise new armies on the fly thanks to their "raise dead' skill is pretty goddamn good, and their magic is devastating. They've even got a bunch of flying units and other brutes to smack people with.
On the other hand, they lack ranged units or siege units. that's a pretty big weakness for 'em.
Vampires play a somewhat slower and treacherous game - until they really get going - but they can make a lot of money and generally can wait to recruit armies until the exact moment they need one.
still, a pretty cool choice
-Greenskins
![[Image: orcos.jpg]](http://www.fanhammer.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/orcos.jpg)
SAY IT WITH ME! 3! 2! 1! WAAAGH!
the orcs and goblins are EASILY the most aggressive race of the lot. while other races can play a somewhat defensive game, this manner of play is literally impossible for the greenskins. every individual greenskin army has a "fightiness" mechanic: if they aren't raiding or attacking constantly, they start to deteriorate as they fight themselves. on the other hand, when they DO manage to get it high enough, they can get a free army to follow them called a WAAAGH! Army for free that follows the first stack around.
These guys start off with cheap and weak armies before quickly boasting one of the strongest frontline infantry groups the game has. if we choose greenskins, expect to shoot goblins out of giant slingshots, get a few nice pictures of giants eating people, and always be fighting someone.
their cavalry is definitely far from the best, though, they lack proper spearmen to deal with masses of cavalry, and their infrastructure's pretty close to non-existent. The green tide's about fightin', and winnin', but not so much about buildin'.
==============================================================================
so those are our race choices for now. vote for the one you want us to play, and then we can get started on our conquest of the old world!

It had been quite some work for Amaterasu to find the right way to go, but with the sign-up locations provided on the Dante's Abyss website that she could open on her Mobile Dataverse Device and some help from a handful of Stormtroopers she had found the Endless Dunes portal in the Nexus after exiting the Frozen Fields, and from there had found her way to the Town with no name, where the signups had been held. And with a horse summoned to get around the Nexus and Endless Dunes faster, she hadn't needed much time either.
Of course, things turned out quite different than what the kami of the sun had hoped for. She hadn't realized that the broadcasts were so long past and that the participants had long since left the staging area and were outside the reach of outsiders. Syntech had packed everything up days ago and there was not a single employee left behind. She found herself with no way of getting to Arturia. That is until someone in town had told her that people last year had reappeared in the Nexus, and Amaterasu had headed there in a beeline. Now she was at the Fountain of Infinity on the back of her horse, or rather close enough that she could see if anyone was nearby, and was thinking as she overlooked the place.
So... Arturia must return here. If she dies she'll come back, if she survives she will reappear here at the end of the Dante's Abyss event. One way or another she will come back, there's no way around it. But what if she had already died and returned? Something inside Amaterasu made her doubt that, Arturia was a powerful warrior and wouldn't go down so easily. But then again, who was to say that she'd made it? From what she'd seen in the interviews there was a great number of powerful Primes who'd signed up. And where would Arturia have gone if she had returned? Would she be looking for her? In Coruscant, maybe? Yes, that made the most sense... it was there that Amaterasu had been taken to by the Stormtroopers and she hadn't gotten in touch with Arturia since. It was possible that she had gone to look for her, see if she was still arrested or something. But what if she wasn't? What if she was still in Dante's Abyss? If she stayed here and Arturia was elsewhere they would both be looking for one another until one of them got tired of it. And if she went to Coruscant she risked that Arturia returned here to the Nexus and vanished off to wherever else... but what could she do? She had no way of contacting her, no way to leave a message...
A message. Exactly! She remembered her powers... in this world she was able to summon living beings. She could... right, she could leave someone here, a messenger to wait for Arturia while she herself went to Coruscant! What an idea. But it had to be someone that Arturia would know was coming from her... someone with a clear sign. One of the Celestial Brush kami maybe? No, they wouldn't be able to speak with Arturia, none spoke japanese. They were animal kami after all. So... a human. She dismounted and left her horse to graze around the Fountain, then crossed her legs beneath herself, placed her hands on her knees, breathed in deep and sunk into meditation as she let it back out along with the muscle tension of riding.
A human... yes, she knew who would be a good fit. Kushi, the woman of Kamiki village that grew rice and brewed sake. Her looks were dead giveaways to her nationality and she knew Amaterasu's real name. And she was trustworthy. Amaterasu's breath turned shallow as she pictured Kushi before her mental eye, wearing the casual qipao dress like she did when not working, and of course the three bales of rice on her head which she never took off whether or not she was on duty. From those bales of rice to the wooden sandals, from head to toe, Amaterasu pictured Kushi, as well as several boxes of dried supplies, a little hut with everything one needed to live, and a few other commodities that Kushi would be able to go on for a while. Finally she pictured a scroll to write on, as she needed something to message Arturia with, and a picture of her on a second scroll to show to Kushi.
When she opened her eyes again, everything was there as she had pictured it. Kushi was inside the hut, the boxes were stacked high next to it, a little smoke came from the chimney as the fire lit up in the hearth, a very idyllic sight. She breathed deeper to get her slowed bodily functions going again then stood on her feet and picked up the scroll. Kushi heard the rustling and looked up, then smiled brightly and came out the door to greet Amaterasu with a hug. "It's been a while, wolfy-chan. I'm happy to see you back though!"
"As am I, Kushi-san!" replied Amaterasu as she returned the hug. "Listen, I have a favor to ask."
"Oh? What could that be?"
"A friend of mine may come through here, I need you to give her a message I will write. She's easy to recognize... hold on. Here." She handed Kushi the scroll with Arturia's picture drawn on it, depicting her in her combat armor. "She's called Saber. She may come alone, or as part of a larger group... bound to appear around here, near that fountain. Oh, and she's from the west. Don't be surprised if her looks aren't japanese. Be sure to look for her... yellow-ish hair and the blue eyes, I don't think anyone else from the group has that."
"I see... well, I will be sure to pass the message when she arrives. Do you have it ready?"
"I have yet to write it. I'll do that in a minute... but there's more, listen. I've left you food and water here so you don't starve, which should last you a few months. I'll be back in two or three months at the most however, and pick you up. If you pass the message go to the Frozen Fields - it's that portal over there - and make sure to wear the warm clothes that I've put into that box for you. Ask around for a dwarven settlement named Dwarfholm and do what you can to get there, it's where I will be waiting at, or coming to. Be sure to bring some provisions as it's going to be a long journey. The dwarves love a good drink though so they will happily accept a brewer as skilled as you into their city."
"Right. I hope to meet you again soon then, wolfy-chan. It's good to have you back!"
"I'm glad as well, Kushi-san. You were my first friend among humans, you know... you have a special place in my heart."
Again they exchanged hugs, then Amaterasu backed away and produced the scroll to write. She had thought to bring some sand from the Endless Dunes to throw on the ink after writing, and she always had her own brush with herself. As she didn't worry about Kushi reading her message she didn't feel any need to summon a tube to slide the scroll into, so all that was left to do was to write.
The kami wrote down two kanji signs before remembering that Arturia could probably not read those. So she needed to use the western language... and speaking of which, what information did she even need to give to Arturia so that she would know how to contact her? She had no idea, and neither would Kushi. She should have asked that in the Endless Dunes maybe. Oh, this wasn't good. She'd just have to wing it then...
After finishing the first sentence in kanji and rewriting it in the phoenician alphabet so that Arturia could read it, she got to the real thing. The kanji could just act as a proof that it really was her, Amaterasu, who'd written the message. She wrote a brief greeting to Arturia, and told her that they needed to get in touch. She also explained that she had gotten a Communicator and wasn't certain about what information Arturia would need to contact her, so she was sorry for writing down too much. Then she finished her letter with information on where to find her in the event that the information she provided wasn't sufficient, giving rough directions to Dwarfholm in the Frozen Fields and telling her that Kushi would be going there too. And of course telling Arturia that she hoped to see her again soon, best regards, Ama Shiranui.
To avoid missing the important part, she just wrote down everything that she believed was important about the Communicator device. She started with the obvious: the exterior. Everything she deemed important from the Communicator's case's color to the little numbers below the row of black bars on the back side, which she couldn't make sense of, was written down.
After accidentally dropping the Communicator once back in the Frozen Fields she had also discovered that the back of the case could be removed, and had found all sorts of possibly important info on there. So she wrote down what she found on that rectangular thing that she didn't dare remove from the case, something that any modern Prime would have told her was the battery: the name of the issuing company, the serial number, "MADE IN CORUSCANT", technical details such as voltage and safety instructions and more numbers beneath a series of bars. There was also a sticky piece of paper on the inside of the case hull which appeared to have been written by hand, possibly by the troll leader whose Communicator this had been, so she copied that too. As Arturia would later find out this was actually the number she needed, as the troll had made a note of it in case that he ever needed to give it out but the battery was dead.
That was the exterior taken care of... she stuck the case hull back on and touched a button on the Communicator to unlock the screen. She'd found a series of interesting data somewhere in... ah, there it was! The Communicator's technical information. Everything from the available storage space to Processor type and speed, Model ID, display resolution and a lot more info, a fair part of which was redundant. She scribbled down a few more details from the system center that weren't in the technical information section as one could never be certain. She had to roll the scroll out several times to have enough space to write everything down, but luckily she'd counted on that and thus summoned a rather large piece.
With her work finished - and she felt rather proud of it, really - she threw sand over the parchment and waited for it to dry, then rolled it up and approached Kushi who was just storing the supplies inside her hut. "Here's the message, thank you again for taking care of it!"
"Of course, wolfy-chan. We'll meet again soon!"
"We will. See you soon, Kushi-san." One final hug was exchanged, then Amaterasu climbed back into the saddle and took off towards the Coruscant portal. I'll find you, Arturia. Sooner or later!

Upon emerging from the gate, I recognize the settlement sprawling out before me. Deciding that, since I can now fly, it might be best to not disturb it, I take to the skies. The oohs and ahhs fade as I distance myself from the people strolling about far below, though a cheer from Compa remains prominent. I exhale and clear my throat, then notice Histy point in a direction. "That way," she chimes in, and I turn, a smile crossing my face. "Ooh! Do a barrel roll!" Compa suggests, and almost immediately I hear our new companion - Adam, was it? - yelling NO, NO, NO over her. "Maybe when it's just us," I reply.
Deciding I've put off an explanation long enough, I let my hands hover down to my sides. "When I was brought to this Omniverse, I was deprived a significant amount of my power. Right now I'm looking to gain it back. That's the short explanation." One look at Histy tells me I might have said too much, but I feel no reason to distrust this Adam, and so I decide not to keep too many secrets. "Will that be enough?"
"So," he responds, "basically like everybody else who got here." Hearing that comforts me a bit. As long as it wasn't just me that ended up this way, as improbable as that would be, I'm fine with working my way back up to being powerful. EXP progression was never a horrible thing.
The power buttons in my eyes twirl as I squint my eyes, surveying the waters below. Distantly I can recognize it - the Fallen Angel, or at least the peak of one of its mountains. I begin to dip down a little as we approach - it's so much faster getting to something you've already seen than it is to find it for the first time, I think. "Remember how hard it was to find this thing?" I comment, knowing Histy will remember.
"It was... certainly something," she responds, dusting her tome a bit. "My tome's still a bit sandy..."
I then hear, in unison, Adam and Compa. "What thing?" Compa lets out a sound like surprise and awe, and I get the feeling it's explanation time again. "The Fallen Angel, they call it. It's an old island that was once floating, but then it sank. Aside from that..." the corners of my mouth perk up. "It's going to be our new Planeptune."
Immediately Compa chimes in again. "Isn't it a bit small?" Adam groans, and I hear a slapping noise. I can determine it's probably a palm being applied quickly to a face, likely the owner of the palm's own face.
...For a moment I wonder what's gotten into me. "It's small, yes, but that's because it's mostly underwater. Once we raise it, there should be plenty more land to work with. And if we're lucky," I continue, "I can do most of the work with Dumdeediddlydum."
Adam responds, "what in the FUCK is a dumdeediddlydum?" I feel Histy shift, and then another groan escapes Adam's lips. "You mean Omnilium. Right. Well, you can make your, uh, 'Planeptune' or whatever you said with it if you've got enough. It'll just take a really, really long time." I can feel Histy shifting more as she takes notes in her tome, no doubt still intrigued by the Omniverse. I then hear her say, "would you mind talking with me a bit more sometime? I'd like to learn as much about this Omniverse as I can, and if you can help, it would be much appreciated."
"Pointless facts? I think I can help with that," he replies, "but it all depends on whether or not it gets boring really fast." As the peak of the Fallen Angel draws near, I slow myself down and half-land, hovering just a foot or so off the ground. Everybody hops off, taking their place on the small ledge on the side of the peak. At last I hover a little bit upwards and twirl forwards, landing on my feet as I stop floating. I lead ahead into the crack in the peak, bobbing and weaving to make my way around rocks and things.
"Careful, everyone-- I remember there being a hole in the ground up ahe--"
I feel myself fall and a scream escapes my lips.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
When I land, I find myself in the familiar land of pillars and unsecured waterfalls of lava. Lavafalls still remains a weird word, I decide, so I don't use it. I notice hitting the ground took me out of HDD, but it's nothing too bad, I think. "Yo! C'mon down, it's fine down here!" Immediately I hear Compa respond "okay" and hop down. A few seconds later, she lands on the ground in front of me and an 'oof' comes out of her on impact. A few moments later, I hear protests up above, then see about fifteen seconds later, see Adam hovering down shakily with Histy holding him up by two of his fingers with both hands. As he lands, Histy lets out a loud gasp, and I notice her face is bright red. "Woah. Histy's tough," I comment, then look to the ring of pillars.
"Welcome," says the booming voice from before. "The emerald... I sense you have returned it. Place it on the center pedestal, and this angel will return to the heavens with its new Goddess."
Immediately I'm filled with questions. "So who are you?" Adam asks, looking to me. "More importantly, the hell's up with the disembodied voice of spookiness? THERE IS SO MUCH YOU HAVEN'T EXPLAINED."
Deciding the plot's not gonna advance until I put the Sharicite on the pillar, I remove it from my hand and do just that. A purple light matching the gemstone's colour flashes, blinding everybody for a moment - or at least I can only assume it does, because it blinds me and WOW is it bright - then shaking. A lot of shaking.
I get a falling feeling in my stomach, but… reversed. I feel my legs give out beneath me, and soon everybody else is on the floor, too. "HOLY SHITBALLS WHAT IS GOING ON I SWEAR TO GOD NEP IF YOU BROKE IT I’M GOING TO--"
A humble ding fills the room. "Welcome to Angel Island, home of Planeptune," goes the voice from before, boomy as ever. "You will like what you see outside."
From a storm of binary, I emerge as Purple Heart, wings sprouting from my back. I sweep up Compa, Adam and Histy and speed through the hole to the surface… and--
"Incredible," I whisper to myself. "It's… Planeptune, just like home."

The air was humid, so close to the center of the city and the Palace. Though the sun had set and Nippur resided in the middle of the dessert in the Endless Dunes, the humidity created from the dense trees within the Palace's walls reached out a few blocks. It made this particular alley quite muggy. Sweat dripped from the forehead of Heaven's Last Angel, while he hid from his two armored pursuers. He though of making a break for the end of the pathway, but that would be foolish. It was a straight shot and there would be no way to not alert the golden clad guards.
Eon sat between two wooden crates with his knees pressed to his chest, and his revolver resting against his temple. He felt so cowardice, part of him wanted to jump up and open fire on the two brutes and lay them low. The gunslinger knew it would not be as easy as that. These two were a part of elite bodyguards. They were way more intense than Zigfree and Gulten, his first real challenges of upon arriving in the Endless Dunes. The two cannibals he'd taken down his first day in the Omniverse were a little on the all Brawn and no Brain, and that wasn't to say they weren't extremely strong. Eon had gotten injured severely in order to stay alive against the cannibal vagabonds. These golden armor bearers... they were a step above. He wouldn't be caught off guard though, like the first encounter, at least he could think this through. The Plant just needed to keep calm and wait for his friend, Kopaka, to hear or see his signal. He had fired off those six shots nearly ten minutes ago.
He should be here any moment... two on two is much better. Hell, Kopaka could probably take the both of them on. Just have to let him know that they know where the Mouse he's looking for is. Just keep calm.
A loud metallic stomp broke Eon's train of thought, and a moment of rejoice filled his body. His mechanical friend had arrived.... or so he thought... instead a golden halberd demolished the crates surrounding him, leaving a gash in the ground... a cringe of shock on Eon's face... and a smile on both the Golden Guards.

Erik slumped down on the hot earth, a little disappointed by the fight. The victory felt so... undeserved. Red Hood and Nealapph had done all of the work, while Erik had done next to nothing to the beast. The mighty creature looked so much more insignificant when it was hardly conscious on the ground. It looked even less threatening under the violet light of Nealapph's banishing circle. The horrible light reminded Erik of the banishment of Stephan Donnel at the hands of Victor Wolfe. Nepal seemed somewhat dejected in the light of his victory, and Erik couldn't help but notice him drop something at Red Hood's feet. It was a sword, and one that seemed familiar to Erik, but couldn't quite place. The psychic then noticed with a start that it was the sword of kusanagi! The chidori blade that belonged to Sasuke! How did Nealapph obtain it? Erik stood up to ask him, but before he got the chance, Nealapph had taken another banishment circle and banished himself in a rather dramatic fashion, leaving Erik staring bitterly at a black mark on the ashen floor.
Erik was lost in thought as he began his hike out of the verse, when his dataverse device vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and opened it, seeing that he had gotten a new email. Someone named Jak Mar had invited him to participate in the F-zero races. The name sounded slightly familiar, but Erik couldn't remember ever meeting a Jak Mar. Erik quickly typed out a response and quickened his pace, happy to have something exciting to do. The excitement was tinged with nervousness, however, as the F-zero races were notoriously dangerous. But really, this just made the prospect more exciting.

Quote:Christa
Red XIII
Gone from the beach, Christa made her own way into the Forest.
Far removed from the sniper, Red XIII found himself in the misty trees as well, trailed by a chuckling Karl Jak.
"You left this, Cat," the executive producer remarked. Red spun around in time to snatch the metal object out of the air with his mouth.

Nealaphh walked through the garden beneath the thousand moons, its smooth black face devoid of the three green eyes that usually heralded the coming of its dread might. The round, blank canvas was marked only by a jagged, cracked seam that had once served the sole purpose of screaming, yet now, had sealed itself shut again. Despite once again having only its mind by which to speak, the sharp slice across its jaw was a stark reminder of the effect that human emotions could have on its body. It wasn't as if Nealaphh was blind; it had never really observed the world through those false viridian swatches in the first place. They had been an allegory; a maddeningly poignant reminder of what it once had been and what it had lost. The two eyes joined by a third below the right was the mark of the Order of the Enigma, Nealaphh's erstwhile adoptive family.
Now though, it didn't even have that ironic reminder to bind it back to his old self. Who was Nealaphh anyway? It no longer wanted to be a God, but the idea of being just a mundane tool in the machinery of Omni's universe still did not sit well with it. The middle path had never really suited Nealaphh; it was either fully dedicated or fully abstinent from a course of action or belief. The garden around it was sort of similar in that regard. The plants that had been carefully planted in the brimstone pots were either bursting with vibrant colors or twisted and black. The bleary, red-purple sky over head looked down dolefully on the scene, with the light of countless unnamed and lost orbital bodies lending only a begrudging light to the stillness of the scene.
Nealaphh had been in the Underverse for several hours now, and he had yet to encounter any sort of demon or spectre that wished to torture or disembowel him. Honestly, Nealaphh would have welcomed the reprieve from having to tackle its own thoughts and insecurities. Perhaps the hordes of Diablo aware that leaving it to itself was the greatest torture that could be invoked upon the god-mind.
Or, perhaps, they were just too busy trying to deal with the Arch Dragon Queen that Nealaphh had banished to this forsaken place, not minutes before arriving here itself. Neither possibility was comforting...
