Anticlimax
#1
Erik slumped down on the hot earth, a little disappointed by the fight. The victory felt so... undeserved. Red Hood and Nealapph had done all of the work, while Erik had done next to nothing to the beast. The mighty creature looked so much more insignificant when it was hardly conscious on the ground. It looked even less threatening under the violet light of Nealapph's banishing circle. The horrible light reminded Erik of the banishment of Stephan Donnel at the hands of Victor Wolfe. Nepal seemed somewhat dejected in the light of his victory, and Erik couldn't help but notice him drop something at Red Hood's feet. It was a sword, and one that seemed familiar to Erik, but couldn't quite place. The psychic then noticed with a start that it was the sword of kusanagi! The chidori blade that belonged to Sasuke! How did Nealapph obtain it? Erik stood up to ask him, but before he got the chance, Nealapph had taken another banishment circle and banished himself in a rather dramatic fashion, leaving Erik staring bitterly at a black mark on the ashen floor.

Erik was lost in thought as he began his hike out of the verse, when his dataverse device vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and opened it, seeing that he had gotten a new email. Someone named Jak Mar had invited him to participate in the F-zero races. The name sounded slightly familiar, but Erik couldn't remember ever meeting a Jak Mar. Erik quickly typed out a response and quickened his pace, happy to have something exciting to do. The excitement was tinged with nervousness, however, as the F-zero races were notoriously dangerous. But really, this just made the prospect more exciting.
