  [NPC] When time stands still
Posted by: Eda - 08-30-2016, 10:54 PM - Forum: Camelot - Replies (6)

Mina had just finished her chat with her new friend , though she doubted anything romantic would come of it . Something was wrong with her , she was sure of that much . She was sure she preferred men , however even an incredibly strong one drew little interest from her . Shaking her head she knew the next part of her patrol was to check the princess' room , making sure to tap on the door first though . She did not wish to disturb the good lady Sunshine if she was busy doing something important , her usual low detached tone announcing her presence . Though for whatever reason her heart caught in her throat , nearly stopping for a few moments . Before swallowing it back down and commanding it to listen to her .

" Milady Sunshine , it's Mina . I would request to do a sweep of your quarters to ensure no evildoers have infiltrated it , is preforming this task acceptable ? "

  Charles Kouren
Posted by: Charles Kouren - 08-30-2016, 09:57 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (5)

Character name: Charles Kouren

Character source: «The Gamer» Original Character

Character history:
My name is Charles Kouren. What if life were a game? Do you think it would be fun? Well, that would depend on the type of game, I suppose. One day, I woke up with the ability to see names and titles above people's heads - just like in an MMO. At first, I thought it was just a dream. Maybe I had fallen asleep at my computer again. However, my day continued as normal. Well, as normal as a high schooler's day could be, at least. A few days pass and I figure out that I can open a «Status Window» for just about anything. After that discovery, I play around with my new abilities. Turns out, not much surprises me anymore. I can track my own Health Points and even Mana (not that I knew how to use it...).

On my home from school one day, the world around me became distorted instantaneously. I didn't know it at the time, but I had walked into an «Instant Dungeon». Kinda like a random monster spawn. Inside of the «ID», I caught the last glimpses of an all-out brawl. Confused, intrigued, and inquisitive, I walked up to the crowd. In the middle, I saw a girl about my age with medium-length strawberry-blonde hair. Despite being right up on the horde, it was difficult to make out what exactly was swarming the girl. Every time one got within her range, a powerful punch or kick made blood explode out the back of the foes.

It didn't take her long to finish off the mob, but she turned her gaze towards me. After she almost kills me because she thought I was another enemy (so glad I dodged that first punch. Second one? Not so much. Ow.), she apologizes and explains a few things about the Abyss - an underground "Magic" World - that she was born into. She trained me for a week before Omni abducted me. Fucker.

Physical Description: (originals only)
[float=right][Image: bart_i10.jpg][/float]
While not in combat, I appear to be a Caucasian teenager with a slim physical build, brown hair and hazel eyes. I stand at 5'11". I usually wear a gray shirt with a green-gray jacket over it, black finger-less gloves, dark blue pants, and black shoes. Yeah, I know. I don't attract a lot of attention...

Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 1
SPD: 3
TEC: 4

Starting Proficiencies: «Physical Strength» (1000), «Ranged Attack Proficiency» (1000)

Starting Powers: «Insight» (1600)

Starting Moves:
My Ability, «Virtual Gamer», lets me transform into a more combat-able form at will. However, it seems that my abduction lessened the effect quite a bit. Instead of a near-instantaneous transformation, I transform based on how fast I can go. It also seems that my abduction has reduced the number of forms I can transform into... Hopefully I can get them back as I grow stronger.

«Fighter»
[float=right][Image: AnimeKnightImage-1.jpg][/float]
«Fighter» is my go-to combat form, based on my love of the Fighting Genre of video games. As such, many of the moves I use in this form are based on moves used in different fighting games - mainly the "Street Fighter" series. While in this form, my appearance shifts to the image at the right. Although the appearance is different, it's only a cosmetic change in the Omniverse. Apparently, Omni deemed it better that my normal strength is the same as my favored form.

«Ki Blast» [300, «Ranged Attack Proficiency»]
The basic technique of harnessing ki for offensive purposes. It takes less than a second to gather enough energy to fire off a blast, and it reaches to nearly fifty meters before dissipating, though I am only reasonably accurate out to about 20. On impact with anything within that range, the blasts explode in a small burst, barely a foot in diameter. Each blast is about the size of a baseball, though with a large yellow-golden aura nearly three times that size around them, making it tough to judge where the actual "blast" itself is. They can be fired rapidly, one after the other from both hands, making up for their low individual power to some extent.

«Ryuushouken» [300, «Physical Strength»]
The «Ryuushouken» is a jumping uppercut in which the I spin upwards with little horizontal movement, knocking the opponent to the ground and inflicting damage. The «Ryuushouken» is primarily used as an anti-air move. However, with some practice, it is possible to use it to counterattack almost any normal move. The trade-off for this is that I am completely vulnerable to attack as I fall back to the ground, and for a split second after landing.

Tier 1 Super Attack - «Hishouken» [600, «Physical Strength»]
Like the «Ryuushouken», «Hishouken» is a jumping uppercut in which I spin upwards with little horizontal movement, inflicting more damage than the «Ryuushouken». The «Hishouken» sets itself apart with the 400-degree flames that envelope my fist during the attack. The trade-off for this is that I am completely vulnerable to attacks as I fall back to the ground, and for a split second after landing.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Confirmed!

Where did you find us? I'm a Digimon!

[NPC] A rare chance to talk
Posted by: Eda - 08-30-2016, 05:50 PM - Forum: Dataverse Messageboards - Replies (16)

Mina found herself pacing , stuffing down her anger that her own date would likely have to cancel . She would never show such weak emotions , especially not so close to the room of Sunshine . What she did not know is her voice would leave her with such a sorrow filled sound it would draw attention .

" Am I not good enough , I suppose I am just a secondary after all . Nothing meriting the time or attention of a prime , but still he could not even make time to respond to me . I suppose that is how it must be though , I am simply second to the best . So goes life I guess "

The emotionless woman had a rare moment where she showed just a hint of emotion , showing the disappointment in the development .

A Pocketful of Chiefs - The Calls
Posted by: Carmelita - 08-30-2016, 04:51 PM - Forum: Dataverse Messageboards - Replies (2)

“Hello, you have reached the Empire Police Department, how may we help you?”

“Good day. My name is Carmelita Fox-Cooper, I am calling to talk about a solution to international criminals.”

“...I beg your pardon?”

“I have a proposal that I think someone high up in the EPD should have a look at. It has the potential to crack down hard on international crime.”

“...I’m sorry, this is a little above my paycheck. Let me fetch my supervisor.”

There is silence for a couple of minutes.

“This better not be another crank call, or I swear I’ll demote you. Hello, Head of EPD PR speaking.”

“Good day, sir. My name is Carmelita Fox-Cooper, I am calling to talk about a solution to international criminals.”

“Okay, sure. Write it up, send it our way and see if it avoids the shredder.”

“Sir, I have the feeling you aren’t taking this seriously.”

“That’s because I’m not. Some random woman’s called up saying she can solve international crime, of course I’m not taking it seriously.”

“Let me rephrase it, then. I have a proposal that I think someone high up in the EPD should have a look at. It has the potential to crack down hard on international crime. It would most likely be classified as a low risk, high reward plan.”

“Ok, let’s hear it then.”

“I am an experienced police officer with a long history of successful international policing. I am establishing a non-political organisation with the aim of facilitating bringing international criminals to justice, and am contacting the EPD as one of the six principal beneficiaries of such a scheme.”

“So what’s the catch? You looking to get room to waltz in and start doing our jobs? Or worse, that of Camelot?”

“Nothing of the sort. I have a document to forward to your department of an ‘in principle’ approval of the organisation. After getting this approval, the organisation would need to work to gain approval to operate in each member’s territory.”

“Okay, even I can see this isn’t going to work. Camelot would never approve of us getting to call in folks in their territory.”

“The proposal is not for specific criminals but for perpetrators of specific types of crimes such as murder. I doubt anyone would object to these sorts of criminals being brought into custody.”

“Right then. I have to say, your idea’s not as bad as I thought. You got a date in mind for getting this document of yours signed?”

“I was planning on arranging a conference call between the departments after sending each a copy.”

“Right then. Ring 0112-EPD-35548 when you’re looking to arrange the actual call. Send me the document at [/color][color=#1155cc]EPDHPR7341@epd.gov.cor straight after this. You’ve got a lot of work ahead of you.”

“Thank you sir. Goodbye.”

A Pocketful of Chiefs - Off Line
Posted by: Carmelita - 08-30-2016, 04:48 PM - Forum: The Endless Dunes - Replies (4)

Carmelita had spent a good two days on working on the document, and she was, it had to be said, quite nervous. Chip had been busying herself in the workshop, muttering something about a stapler, but Al3x had agreed to sit with her in the little office she’d built herself in above the briefing rooms and help her out if she needed anything urgently.

She looked at the numbers in front of her. Each one led to the offices of a different law enforcement group across the Omniverse.

The first led to the EPD central office in Coruscant. Despite the problems rife within the city, SupraPol needed to remain within their rights to operate within the city, so she had planned for all eventualities regarding the office. It would be unlikely that Judge Dredd, the official chief of police, would be the one to join her planned conference call, but she had taken no chances in her preparation.

The second would put her through the the primary guardhouses for Camelot. Here, she was more confident she could wind up with Commander Sam Vimes on the other end of a magic mirror, though she wasn’t certain whether the man would be for or against her suggestions.

The third would put her in contact with the sheriff’s department in The Town With No Name. Having met Sheriff Roland Deschain personally, Carmelita knew that getting him away from his duties would be nothing short of a miracle, though she had higher hopes that he might put the stamp of approval on her suggestion.

The fourth was a line all the way across the Omniverse to the Darkshire Militia Headquarters. The current guess was that she’d get one of Commander Atelos’s officers on the line, and whether or not she’d receive any attention from the man himself was up for debate. Her request seemed most out of sorts with the struggles she’d read about in the Pale Moors, and she was a little concerned he might reject the idea out of hand.

The fifth would lead to the Cinnabar Central Police Headquarters. As far as she could tell, the current head of the guard forces was Chief Officer J Growlithe, but the details regarding the island’s forces were outdated at best. Her hope was that promises towards dealing with the Liberation Front might give her an edge on that front.

The sixth was the number of the Ambrosian Royal Guard Offices. The current head of the guard seemed to be Nyeseth, but Carmelita’s details on the subject were even more sketchy than Cinnabar. Ambrosia seemed to exist as a great blindspot in the data she’d accrued from researching the agencies on the Dataverse, mostly due to its comparatively recent creation.

She took a breath and rang the first number.

To: Princess Luna

Subject: Please Hurry Up

I will soon be going to war against the website known as "O-Harmony"  because of the despicable pairing they have put me together with. As a King I advise you, Princess Luna to conclude your business with the damnable website as soon as you are possibly able. I advise you not to use the website again, as I will be going after the ones who own and run the website. Please don't get in my way, or send the Elements of Harmony after me.

PS:  I brought the Elements of Harmony to this verse so they could take on Omni.

  Depths of Deep Darkness

The former monarch of the Crystal Empire wasn't pleased. Even as he exited the gate and saw the perfect fusion of both old school architecture and modern like that of Carmelita's base, he wasn't happy to say the least. Getting his hooves on a Dataverse Uplink Station or the Virtual Reality Device mentioned in the email from Carmelita was essential. But where could he get one of those? He didn't know. He did know he didn't want to go on the date with Dead Pool. As the cool breeze swept through his mane it reminded him of the air conditioning her base had. This alone helped to calm the levels of anger down from I'm going to butcher the entire dataverse,  to I'm going to crash O-Harmony. The blighted website was going to perish by his hooves, and his hooves alone. No one else was going to be allowed to involve themselves in his revenge.

Every employee was going to suffer and it was going to be a long drawn out suffering. For the displeasure and pain they had caused Sombra psychologically alone, they deserved nothing less. There was more to it than that, though.  "How am I supposed to find a way into the Dataverse?"
And how was he supposed to delete that information from the Dataverse without causing more trouble for himself later?

Posted by: James Knight - 08-30-2016, 02:22 PM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

Dead Pool was the name of an individual that the former king of the Crystal Empire planned to avoid. As for avoiding the situation he needed to do a couple of things in order to ensure that he could do so. One involved learning how exactly the "Dataverse" as Carmelita Sly-Cooper had called it worked exactly and where the entrance to such a place was. Once he found the entrance the other part should be easier in his opinion namely bringing down the smash hammer onto the website itself in order to make it relinquish all data on him. In order for that to happen he was going to need a place to call his own. The moment he came out of the Endless Dunes, the vehicle disappeared. Quickly recreating it out of Omnilium again, he climbed back into the vehicle. Truly the design of Chip was wonderful and also a time saver for him. Later perhaps he could see about weaponizing the vehicle. Getting into the dataverse was truly his priority presently. But where could he best obtain the goal of getting into the Dataverse? Traversing the Nexus, he used the crude map so that he could head towards the gate that led into the Vasty Deep. Roughly an hour and fifteen minutes later he'd arrived at that gate. Dismissing his vehicle he went through to the other side.

  Meanwhile, at the oHarmony HQ

Inside a large room were fifteen men and women, all sitting in their respective seats. Some sat in front of panels, typing away at keyboards as they arranged matches, other stood by a giant aquarium, netting out algea from the tank. Two manatees swam around, picking out pink and blue balls that all had a names on them.

In the center of the room was a man dressed in a suit, smoking a large cigar. He had a receding hairline stretching to the back of his head, but what hair he did have extrended up a foot up in the air. His big bushy silver mustache featured prominently on his crusty face. He blowed up another puff of smoke as she finished his last e-mail on his laptop.

Once he finished typing, the computer retracted into the floor and the man reclined in his large velvet red chair. One of his subordinate approached.

"You sure it was wise to antagonize King Sombra like that?"

The boss took another long inhale on his cigar before blowing out another gust of smoke.

"Even if he knew where to find me, he'd never get to the Dataverse."

"But sir, was all this really worth it? Was it really worth the trouble?"

The boss chuckled under his breath, the subordinate felt like he may have asked a stupid question.

"Of course. I don't care if my son was a low life, King Sombra will pay for killing him."
