One ring of blue light, about 6 feet wide, materialized and moved up and down. Each time it passed the air, blue pixels of a still frame Vision and Marcus printed into the air. When the process finally stopped, the two machines peered around to take in the new environment.
The marshlands were fairly dry tonight. The moon was a slender sliver of silver, a steady light against the darkness. Crickets chirped in some distant cluster of weeds. The Vision had never been to the Moors, but what he could glean from the web implied that the Moors were a hotspot for entities that originated from media of the horror genre. Despite that, Vision noticed, there was a serenity here that he had not expected.
Marcus inspected his shotgun, making sure the Teleporter pulled everything in correctly. The Vision was less concerned with the journey, and more concerned with where they were.
"Watch yourself, Vis," Marcus muttered, "Heard tales of some pretty freaky crap out there."
"Affirmative," Vision replied. He opened a mental map of the Moors, trying to triangulate their current location.
"I believe Darkshire is 70 miles to the west from here."
"That's a one-hour ride," Marcus estimated.
"Query: did you bring a vehicle?"
"No, but I can make one."
Marcus lifted his hands. Cutting through the drab and gray light of the Moors, a kaleidoscope of bright colors tingled through the Terminator's fingertips. The rainbow light seemed to sketch an outline in the air, an outline of a mud cycle. The Vision lifted his own hands, creating another invisible stencil, using his internal database to improve the engines and other functional parts.
"That kid..." Marcus said, breaking their silence, "He'll be fine, right?"
"I imagine so," the Vision nodded, "There were no hostile intentions, and his injuries were not permanent. Although, I must say I agree with Captain Rogers. Your quote, tough love, unquote may do more harm than good."
Marcus twisted his lips, then said thoughtfully, "I'll be more careful."
When the mudbike was completed after several minutes, Marcus offered the Vision a ride. The android refused. There wasn't a seat, and either way, he preferred to fly.
The duo set off towards the collection of torches. That was likely Darkshire.
"Hey, Vision!" Marcus shouted over the mudbike's engine.
Vision flied lower, descending and coming closer to Marcus.
> self.setvalue density 10.330002%
Shifting...
Just in case.
"Query: what is your query?"
"You and I..." Marcus shouted, "We may be robots, but we both have... you know. Feelings. I'm pretty sure."
"I have an emulator of emotions embedded into my programming."
"And about the mystical stuff," Marcus continued, "You know that's not how the Omniverse works, right?"
Vision peered at the Terminator thoughtfully.
"What's the real reason for you taking me with you?"
The Vision looked away as Marcus turned his eyes towards the android. He flew away.
"Recommendation: keep your eyes metaphorically on the metaphorical road."
The rest of the journey was uneventful. They arrived in Darkshire at the break of dawn.

So I have a rpg system that I discovered a little while ago. Its called Hc Svnt Dracones, aka the latin for Here Be Dragons
Its a post-humanity sci-fi rpg where you play as what are known as Vectors. Engineered creatures created as humanity's successor to the worlds they left behind when they all blew up in spectacular fashion.
Here is a link to the PDF of the first edition base rulebook which I got from a friend.
Please tell me what you think and show interest. I personally would love to play this, but I have no experience as a DM and therefore wouldnt be able to run it myself right off the bat.

Quote:Continuation of I'll take it as a compliment. This one isn't open because I've got to get Dane ready for DA.
Any edits in this thread are just minor polishes before I submit it for grading. I haven't changed any of the actual plot or content.
Out of the stone gateway and into the realm of Camelot walked Dane. His stride slowing to a more relaxed, casual pace; his legs were starting to tire, and without a clear destination in mind he saw no reason to waste energy. He wasn't here with some supreme, ulterior motive - he'd just chosen this gate because it looked the least messy. Others were covered in moss or vines, while the entrance to Camelot was smooth, well cut, stone. That and it happened to be in the opposite direction from Axemerax. In retrospect, the vines could have been a better choice, he thought. After all, he wanted magical knowledge and moss or vines were typical things hermit wizards had. At least, Dane's many places of refuge were covered in the things - mostly by choice because some small part of him wanted to fit the fictional stereotype. Regardless, he'd "chosen" this one. Stone cut as well this either had a lot of time invested - or magic. Then again, it could have just been "summoned" similarly to Dane's old, itchy hat (many imaginary tears were shed at its loss).
The actual journey from the fountain had been uneventful since he ran away from Axemerax, but he didn't plan to get involved with the metal clad alien. Axe was as clueless as he was, after all, and he was bound to meet someone else with similar or better technology, and hopefully, they'd be much less eccentric. That and the guy was on the verge of killing him. Anyway, Dane wasn't a user of tools; he desired to understand and make them - while he may have been wrong, he suspected Axe couldn't replicate his equipment if given standard supplies and enough time. Yes, Omnilium could be used since it seemed to be able to fill the mechanical gaps in knowledge, but Dane hated missing information and relying on more tools to simply fill the holes was just a big fudge. He'd much rather have an actual understanding of the process involved in their manufacture.
He’d passed a few scouts coming from the direction of the gate, some of which rode on horseback, but they'd all ignored him. He reckoned he might have looked too sure of himself, and they were perhaps looking for new, struggling primes. Or maybe they were actually checking for foes, and he simply didn't look dangerous to them. Dane had nodded his head at a few of them, receiving similar motions in response. So they probably weren't just antisocial, he'd reasoned.
Nonetheless, he was feeling the loss of that hat strongly in his eyes. While relieved that there was a sun, its rays continued to stab him in the face. Viciously. He could make a new one, but that would undermine the first's legacy (and it would probably be itchy as well). So he decided to stop overreacting and just deal with it. Raising a hand above his eyes to get a better look at the unknown land, he walked onward, scanning the horizon. A large, multi-tiered city rose up into the sky, daring to reach for the clouds. Yet, higher still, was a smaller city; one that succeeded in fighting and conquering the clouds to gain dominance over its pocket of the sky. In almost no time, Dane decided that that would be his destination. It looked cool, so it probably was cool.
Of course, lacking any method of aerial locomotion, he deemed it would be reasonable to head to the city he could actually reach on foot first, and perhaps gain some information should he pass any smaller towns on the way.
Dane's stomach grumbled.
And some food. It occurred to him that he had been due a meal before he arrived in the Omniverse. But, the process of getting food was effort. And he was lazy. If he didn't absolutely have to do it now, he reasoned that it’d be perfectly fine to do later. Shrugging, he trudged onwards with a general lack of awareness of his surroundings; thinking was more important, and he had a lot to think about.

| [Faction] Heaven and Earth Interest Check |

Credit to Tearen/Nealaphh for this amazing logo!
This has been in the planning for a while now, but it's time to come into the open: Heaven and Earth is a faction that Amber and I plan to establish, if the interest is present! Note that there are still a number of open ends, and while the base structure is down many things will still be subject to change.
The faction
The brief: Heaven and Earth is faction geared towards bringing peace and prosperity for the Frozen Fields. It is divided into two main branches: Heaven is geared towards civilian interest while Earth is more of a militia. Players who join one branch are still part of a single faction and can work for both sides simultaneously.
The faction emphasizes on its duality, yet how the branches work together to achieve greater goals. Neither branch controls the other nor do they interfere with each other's assigned tasks. They both have their own respective leaderships, authority and even bases.
The goals
Heaven and Earth has both goals as a faction as a whole, and goals for its two branches. As a whole, the faction aims to:
-Establish peace in the Frozen Fields, which is to say ending the war between the dwarves and trolls, or forcing it into a "cold war" state where the active combat is relatively insignificant. A sub-goal would be to find ways to "redirect" the instinctual thirst for battle, especially from the trolls, to prevent outbreaks.
-Achieve prosperity in the verse, making a dangerous and avoided verse more habitable and possibly even interesting to tourists.
-Establish a network of military alliances with other factions to prepare for what's bound to happen eventually: a large-scale military conflict threatening to rip the Omniverse apart. In the worst case that would be Diablo's return, but it could also be the Empire or Kingdom clashing - or an event such as the Dark Data saga threatening the integrity of the entire Omniverse or major parts thereof.
To achieve these goals Heaven and Earth's branches each have their subset of tasks that they aim to fulfill.
Heaven's goals are of civilian nature. They focus on building up prosperity in the Frozen Fields and creating a more habitable environment.
-Logistics are one such goal: roads, highways, surface tunnels, bridges and other infrastructure to allow travelers to traverse the verse, if not safely then at least safer than going cross-country in the snow, over the ice and through the hazardous weather. Trade routes usable by anyone would also be a goal to reach through this.
-A neutral city somewhere deep into the verse. This would start out as a base (Amaterasu's) building up into a village, then a town and finally a bustling city. In a way this is Heaven's ultimate long-term goal to reach: to have this city be a neutral ground between factions, allowing for embassies of other important factions to be built, allowing for negotiations and conferences to be held here, and encouraging the peaceful coexistence not just of trolls and dwarves as well as dragonflight and generally all Frozen Field sentient inhabitants, but of all factions who are willing. It will probably be a long time before the largest factions like the Empire or Kingdom take notice, let alone consider establishing an embassy in this city, but that is the goal. The faction won't impose its ideals or force peace onto other factions though.
Heaven’s main base will be provided by Amaterasu.
Earth's goals are of military nature. They focus on maintaining the peace on the faction’s grounds (and eventually the Frozen Fields in general), building military alliances and intervening where necessary.
-Camps to train Earth’s members to fight (and to lead), and craftsmen to create the weaponry to hand to them. This is not a goal that is ever considered done, of course.
-Fortifications and guard posts across the Frozen Fields to defend the country in case of an attack, be that from the inside or outside.
-Military alliances with other factions, as well as non-aggression pacts to keep Heaven and Earth from being perceived as a threat or having its members be assaulted. Its goal is to maintain peace, not to establish supreme military might. Of course, said alliances would also be respected.
Earth’s main base will be provided by Amber Veritz.
Outside of these major goals, Heaven and Earth will also offer simpler tasks (“Faction Quests”) for its members which further the faction as a whole. Nothing is mandatory, but you could get some sweet Omnilium for it. Or bragging rights rewards.
How to join
You can join as a (Player/NPC) Prime or as a Secondary, regardless of what faction(s) you are currently affiliated to. This may change in the future if Heaven and Earth makes any enemies, unfortunately. Other than that you are encouraged to join other factions as this would help solidify pacts and alliances (or set the foundations thereof if the faction has no connection with Heaven and Earth yet) and creates potential ambassadors.
For obvious reasons, people affiliated with Zul’gurand or Dwarfholm will be treated with a little skepsis initially, as these factions are likely to not be too happy with Heaven and Earth’s involvement in the Frozen Fields. They will, however, be accepted.
INTERESTED PARTIES: (Note to self: Bolded characters are part of the Message blast to be sent out when the faction is founded.
Albert Wesker
Amber Veritz
Amaterasu
Celestia
The Emperor of Mankind (+ 13-Jzall?)
Erik Vrell
Summer
Warren (or Ricky)
INTERESTED FACTIONS FOR ALLIANCES:
The Black Order (Yu Kanda)
The Avengers (The Vision)
Latveria (Doctor Doom)
Other notes
-The nature of the leadership in the faction is not set yet: it is likely that Heaven will be led by a council and chancellor, and Earth will be commanded by a General and advisors. There is still room for interested parties, though!
-The “neutral city” has no set name yet. Suggestions are appreciated!
CURRENT POTENTIAL NAMES:
-Hoshi (means Star)
-Corona
-Boreale
-The thread will get updated from time to time, so be sure to check back once in awhile! (Noteworthy changes will be accompanied by a post)

A question about base teleports. I'm aware the area in which the teleporters put you are random, but is there anyway two teleporters could be 'synced' to travel quickly between two, per se, bases or areas? Of course I assume these two teleporters would only be linked to one another and perhaps even been in the same verse, but it's something I've been pondering.

Before i continue with any and all plans i want to make sure things are still on the up and up.
Some of you might know that before my forced hiatus Me and some others created a faction called The Black order.
We all know the rules that are needed to create a faction and have it recognized by staff:
Quote:1. At least 4 PCs must be a part of the group
2. Those four PCs must have met in-character
3. One member (usually but not always ‘the leader’) must own a Base. This base must be established in-character and should have been visited by the other members
4. Faction must be listed in the Faction Megathread, which means the faction must have an identity and goals of some sort.
5. It has been at least 2 months since items 1, 2, and 3 have been satisfied.
Now that i've had a chance to return to the OV and the faction was removed from both subforum and faction threads / pale moors information. I wanted to make sure i am still allowed to use it? Obviously i would like to put the original plans forwards and new members are still welcome to join and recieve their innosence weapon / become an omniverse exorcist. However, the initial members have stopped writing or switched characters.
My question is, am i still allowed to continue this as a faction or do i have to start over from the beginning? ( seeing as currently the only members available are Klaud Nine and Yu Kanda)

So I've seen a few of these go around (Monster Tinder and the Digimon Partnering Thread) so I thought I'd put my vast knowledge of the Avatar universe to good use!
So here's the deal... I personally like answering questions, it lets you get in the mindset of the character. I've comprised a few categories and some questions within. I'll evaluate each to see what one's mindset, combat style and culture are in comparison to the various Benders. You can be as detailed as you'd like with the answers, to help me get a better idea (and thus a more accurate reading.)
Personality:
- Top five foods?
- Someone disagrees with you. How do you respond?
- How do you react if you are being bullied?
- How do you react if someone else is being bullied?
- Your father is on his death bed. You know you are in his will to inherit something great. How do you feel?
- How do you regard your sibling?
- How do you feel about strangers?
- What is your favorite season and why?
- Top five random things you like?
- Top five random things you dislike?
Combat:
- Offense or Defense?
- Speed or Power?
- Lethal or Nonlethal?
- Long, medium or close range?
- Rigid Traditional stance, or mobile Adaptive stance? *
- Block or evade?
- If struck, counter-strike or disengage and reevaluate?
- Sneak attack, sneak around or openly engage?
- Fight or flee?
- Response to overwhelming odds?
Culture:
- Arrange the following by priority: Political power, personal freedom, public safety, interactive community
- Arrange the following by priority: Expand outwards, develop inwards, colonize, stabalize
- Describe your definition of "Honor"
- What does "War" mean to you?
- What would you consider a popular hangout for teenagers? (14-17 ish)
- What would you consider a popular hangout for young adults (18-30 ish)
- What would you consider a popular hangout for middle aged adults? (31-60-ish)
- What would you consider a popular hangout for the elderly? (61 and over)
- Describe your culture's food and drink of preference (alcohol included, but not necessary)
- Define Patriotic.
5-8 are more about what would be popular to the general public, though you may add in your preference as well.
30 questions is a lot, but if you're willing to answer, I'm willing to read them. (I have no life.) This is mostly for fun, though Aang might be willing to teach bending to a dedicated soul!
* A note on this, in the Avatar universe, Rigid form denotes traditional training. Those with rigid forms are often classically trained and usually considered experts of their particular fighting style. Form Fluid is a term used to describe modern fighters that are less trained and try to make up for this by constantly changing the way they fight to combat an enemy.
An example, an Earthbender with a Rigid form and Defensive preference is untouchable. Another way to look at this is Rigid forms can lead to particular styles, such as Metalbending - which requires one to be more stubborn than the metal itself (by Toph's description.)
Probending is Fluid, while many forms from Legend of Korra were Rigid.
I believe this was a big issue because of my the terms used by my instructor, and that sometimes I mix words. Anyone wanting a reevaluation may inbox me and I will edit your post.

The Earth, the site of his greatest failure, became a tinier and tinier speck in the darkness of space behind him.
Good riddance. Millions of years of careful planning, thrown down the drain by a single mixed breed alien, and now, a brilliant chance to try and undo the destruction, and the human Fist Users- hybrids unto themselves, bastardizations of his children, have thwarted him.
He admired the power of those who had a touch of Saru Blood, that somehow allowed them to prevail over true Saru, and now that he was aware of the potential, he would use it, given time. But the time wasn't right for it. At this moment, the hybrids are simply a wrench in his machine.
The space craft he was in was a creation of his own, the golden metallic body made of the same stuff as his own mortal form. This craft alone would be enough, he decided. He would send it crashing into another world- this time a lifeless one, bereft of any beings who might become hybrids themselves, and enter himself back into the cycle of reincarnation, and leave this mortal body once more to take his place as the Saru's benevolent God. In a few thousand years, the material of his ship would give birth to Saru, and he would begin the Cycle on this new world. This new Saru. Wherever it might be.
That is what would have happened, if he had not been taken by the darkness the moment the Earth vanished from view completely.
He had only had a mortal body for a brief few hours- all of which spent under the adrenaline of a fight for his life. In his millions of years of existence, he had only taken mortal form a half-dozen times, never bothering to stick around for long before. He would possess the current King, if he was simply unworthy of rule in this incarnation, breed, if he felt the urge, and then sent his body back into the Cycle of reincarnation, with the hopes that the King's next incarnation would be a more worthy type.
He had never once slept, in all his time of existence. He had never once blacked out.
When his awareness opened back up, and he took in sight of an endless dark void, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to breathe, he was absolutely terrified that he somehow died. Died permanently. True oblivion. A Saru didn't fear death, as long as their blood soaked into the ground- and their blood was a fearsome thing, hardier than any weed, they would be reborn. They had no need for an afterlife, not unless they perished in the void of space-
Just as he had been.
Was this death?
His thoughts were interrupted, as soon as he made out the grinning silhouette in the darkness.
Was this God?
The true one? That so many different species across the galaxy he had conquered offered their last hopes to?
The one that he had spurned as irrelevant?
It spoke. “My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
Chakravartin listened, unable to do much of anything else.
“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most. You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
This... this wasn't what he had been hoping for, but he could work with it. If this Omni found him interesting, and he lived for as long as he was?
He would give Omni a show.
He would bring his True War to the Omniverse, even if it took him a million years. Even if it took him capturing thousands of brilliantly colored orbs. Because nothing else interested Chakravartin more. And despite this Omni's words, for the first time in his impossibly long existence, he did fear death. For the first time, he felt as his subjects did- knowing the Cycle was not in their own hands, but that they would only be reborn by the hand of a greater power.
If the void he awoke in was even a slightest bit accurate, he would not want to return.
The darkness faded, and Omni with it.
He found himself facing a great fountain, a beautiful, carved tower, decorated with human figures, all reaching towards the precipice where the water shot first into the air, before cascading over them.
Besides the fountain, the world around him was a dull, colorless void. The mental realm he had spent most of his lifetime in was similar- although it was warm with the golden glow of his own existence... it was troubling, actually. He was sure he was furious with something, before he saw Omni, where was he? He thought... darkness? Something blue, in the distance, which made him mad... He supposed it would come back to him, if it was important. This realm wasn't warm with the glow of anything. It just was.
"The Omniverse... is smaller than I thought. It shouldn't take long to bring True War to this mess." he said at first, before noticing something on the horizon- several somethings, in about equal intervals in every direction.
He lifted his feet from the white featureless floor, intending on simply flying over there- and crashed to the ground. He couldn't fly? He couldn't fly?
The only time he had ever even deigned to touch the floor was when sending his host back into the Cycle! Touching the ground below you was something only mortals ever had to do!
He clumsily got to his feet- damn it. Would he have to actually wear shoes? Feeling the chill beneath his thin socks.
Taking a few careful steps, he sighed in irritation, heading away from the fountain, heading for the West.
It would be a long walk.
