I did a quick look around and didn't see an official thread for this, so made my own. Do feel free to hit me upside the everything if that wasn't the right call.
I have recently completed a certain quest, that one being the Stars Over the Omniverse Quest, in Coruscant. As such, I am now in need of someone to swoop in as the Storyteller and reveal the 'dark secret' mentioned in the quest description.
For quick access:
Coruscant Info Thread with the quest description: Link
The Quest Thread for it I did: Link
The Quest Approval: Link
I like to be thorough, so I hope that's everything needed. :frogpipe:

So as most of you probably know, it has been a while since I've been active in an IC capacity. For quite some time, I've desired to create an alt that I could use while I decide what to do with Dark Link. But even with my personal requirement of needing to have at least one idea for a storyline before I consider them, many potential options cropped up. And though I have managed to whittle the list down somewhat over the past few months, I'm still left with five characters that I would all regard as equally compelling choices. With Dante's Abyss approaching fast (and the pressure rising for me to jump into the fray XD), I am running out of time for a decision.
For this reason, I decided to create this thread to acquire additional opinions on the matter. In order to provide some context for the options, I've written a description for each character. If you can spare just a bit of your time, I would greatly appreciate if you could read them and then share your thoughts as to who you think would be the best choice. In about five days or so, I will make a decision and then proceed to join Dante's Abyss with the chosen character.
I encourage everyone who can to express their opinion, regardless of familiarity with the source material. Thank you for your help. If you have any questions regarding the characters and any plans I might have for them after DA, please don't hesitate to ask.
Note: Some of the entries do have spoilers of their source material.
Candidate #1: Ancient One
‘The story of a civilisation, through the eyes of its messiah.’
Character Source: StarCraft/OC
Since I was young, history has been one of my favourite subjects. I’ve always loved learning about how people behaved in the past and how they responded and shaped the events that played out. That said, contrary to widespread perception, the tale of history isn’t really a tale of great individuals and how they spearheaded progress — it is in fact a tale of how we as a whole have collectively decided to live our lives and shape the world around us. As a result, I have always wondered — can one write a story about a civilisation?
The Ancient One is essentially an outgrowth of that idea. Created among the first batch of Drones — the workers that form the backbone of Zerg colonies — he was fated for a rather short existence. But a variety of happenstances and deliberate actions ensured his survival over many millennia, allowing him to evolve mentally well beyond normal capabilities. Just as his unusual existence is discovered, he would be brought into the Omniverse along with five other drones. Lost and confused, they would turn to the oldest and most powerful among them for direction, giving him the eponymous name.
Despite being the most prominent figure in their society, most of the posts wouldn't be so much about the Ancient One himself as about the drones in general, particularly as their numbers began to increase. As the messianic figure of his kind, the Ancient One would be in a (heh) prime position to view the life of drones within a wider context. Through him, I believe it would be possible to tell the tale of how the drones would react and adapt to life in the Omniverse, and how the collective decisions they make would shape the Omniverse and their place in it.
Candidate #2: Demi-fiend
‘A thoughtful and candid half-demon, hellbent on reshaping the cosmos.’
Character Source: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Among the candidates being considered, this guy can pretty much be regarded as the ultimate Omniverse character. He is mostly a blank slate in his game, has justification for nearly all the powers and proficiencies available and has traversed multiple dimensions before appearing in Omni’s domain.
Originally a mostly normal Japanese high school student, he was one of the few humans to survive an apocalyptic event that tore the world asunder in preparation for its new rebirth. Turned into a half-demon by an unknown individual, he was forced to survive in a wasteland filled with demonkind and other hostile entities. But the trial through hellfire reforged him into a powerful force in his own right, enabling him to control demons and shape the ultimate fate of the world.
It later came to light that the one who turned him into a half-demon was none other than Lucifer, who had deliberately been grooming him to break the cycle and become one of his lieutenants. In the True Demon Ending, the Demi-fiend chose to accept this fate, destroying the world and leading Lucifer’s forces in their multidimensional struggle against the Great Will in a desire to reforge the universe according to his ideals. It is this desire that would continue to drive his ambitions even in the Omniverse.
Despite being unambiguously evil, he’s not exactly a conventional villain. Unscrupulous and goal-driven to an extreme, he nevertheless prefers to keep things simple and is fairly honest regarding his opinions and intentions. In fact, as long as one does not get in his way, it is entirely possible to have an amiable conversation with him. Those that do manage to interact with him discover that he has something of an intellectual bent, feeling perfectly comfortable discussing matters of technology and philosophy.
Candidate #3: Tamsin Suzaku
‘A shattered soul, trying to find meaning in an empty existence.’
Character Source: Dragon Ball Z AU/OC
Out of all the candidates, Tamsin is the only one I have much of a prior history with. She was the character I played on Chubbs, the DBZ RPG that was the spiritual predecessor to the Omniverse. Although she was a rather unremarkable character for most of her existence, the bonds she formed and challenges she faced did over time help mold her into something with greater potential. Unfortunately, I ended up quitting roleplaying just as she was beginning to develop into something more interesting. As such, she became an embodiment of both my successes and failures as a roleplayer.
Abandoned as a child, Tamsin was adopted by Amaya Suzaku, one of the leaders of the Servus guild, which specialised in training highly-qualified house servants. Despite the grueling and unforgiving training it entailed, Tamsin happily followed in her stepmother’s footsteps and became a maid. After Amaya was killed, Tamsin resolved to uphold her guardian’s ideals and struck out on her own. It was at this point that she encountered a Namekian named Maleficus Nova, the son of the infamous mercenary Retane (yes, that Retane), who spent his entire life living in the shadow of his father.
She served him dutifully for two years, during which they overcame many obstacles and trials together. It was during this time that she came to realise that she had the power of telekinesis. But before she was able to fully capitalise on her untapped potential, Tamsin was inflicted with a terrible curse, which over time degraded not only her body, but her very soul. Before she died, she merged what remained of her being with Maleficus, hoping to watch over her master even in death. But it was all for naught. Tamsin could do nothing but watch helplessly as her master was attacked by a mysterious entity before being wiped from existence.
Devastated by the loss of her master and the world she had once known, Tamsin would wander the Omniverse in an attempt to rebuild her life and her shattered pride whilst trying once again to fully nurture her powers. But this new world would offer little respite to her suffering, threatening to degrade her psyche even further.
Candidate #4: Aldaris
‘A noble zealot, struggling to save his people and their ideals in an unfamiliar world.’
Character Source: StarCraft
Protoss are one of my favourite alien races in fiction, but if I’m honest, they don’t make for very compelling individual characters. Most of them tend to be fairly stock honour-bound types. Of course, there are exceptions that have more of a distinct personality, like the fan favourite Fenix and Zeratul. But there is another, one who isn’t afforded as much attention or recognition — Aldaris.
The most morally ambiguous among the Protoss characters, Aldaris has something of an interesting dichotomy. He is an ardent follower of old traditions and ideals, enforcing them to an almost zealous degree, which has put him at odds with others of his kind. But despite his sometimes antagonistic role, he cares deeply about his people and possesses a strong sense of honour and justice. From this stem both his greatest virtues and biggest vices, which ultimately lead to his demise.
At the time of his death, the Protoss already faced great turmoil. Their empire had crumbled apart, they were forced to abandon their homeland and they needed to try and reconcile with their estranged and exiled brethren. If Aldaris and some of his followers were to be brought into the Omniverse, they would also suffer the loss of their spiritual connection to their ancestors on top of that.
Faced with this kind of situation, Aldaris would do his best to lead his people and work to regain the power and prestige they once possessed. But in this new universe and situation, he would find it difficult to reconcile his ideals with doing what is necessary to ensure the survival of his kind.
Candidate #5: Mordred Pendragon
‘A fallen knight, seeking prestige and recognition.’
Character Source: Fate/Apocrypha
Most of you are probably familiar with Arthurian legends, thanks to the numerous depictions they had been subjected to over time. One of the more interesting portrayals of the myth in recent years has been the Fate series, which is (in)famous for its gender-flipped King Arthur. But while Arturia is an interesting character, so is her misfortunate offspring, clone and rival Mordred.
Above all else, Mordred is a creature of contradictions. She was a traditionalist in a society that rejected women holding positions of powers. She was a champion of the common folk while resenting the fact that she was not like them. She was an honourable and idealistic knight that engaged in plotting and treachery to achieve her goals. And despite being deeply flawed compared to the ‘perfect’ king she served, Mordred was also far more humane and relatable.
Her troubled and complex existence was further compounded by, to put it mildly, her conflicting relationship with her ‘father’. Having spent her entire life idealising and admiring King Arthur, she worshiped the very ground he walked on and threatened anyone who would speak ill of him. Yet, Arthur’s refusal to name her heir to the throne deeply wounded Mordred and caused her to despise him with every fiber of her being. Ultimately, their inability to reconcile their differences resulted in their final battle at Camlann and the downfall of Camelot.
Much like her ‘father’, Mordred was deeply troubled by the whole affair in death. Even in the Omniverse, she would seek to claim what she believes to be her rightful place in the world. She would seek to prove to herself and Arturia that the only rightful successor to a Pendragon is another Pendragon.
The white of the world was blinding. It was so bright he almost thought he had stepped into the sun! Rubbing his eyes, Aang focused his thoughts. What just happened? Well, for starters... this was not where he fell asleep last night. Aang realized immediately he had been transported to some new location, and from what that ominous figure said an entirely new world.
After his eyes adjust, he takes a long look around. Strange, how things looked so blank. The long stretch of white floor, the infinite white of the sky - or maybe even roof - and the way that the horizon seemed almost seamless. To be frank, Aang was in awe. Whoever built this place was either a madman or a genius.
He could not help the chuckle that escaped. The combination of madman and genius immediately brought up thoughts of Bumi. The old coot would definitely build something like this. Sadly, these floors were probably not made of Jennamite. Aang had to resist the urge to lick the floor and test the faint suspicion.
A sigh escapes the Avatar. A whole new world had been set at his fingertips. What should he do with it? It was the Nomad in him that spoke the loudest. Exploration... A grin split his features as he imagined what creatures he could ride here, or the strange cultures he could experience. Just as quick as the wanderlust struck, so too did a wave of remorse. Immediately he thought of his family.
Inner conflict boiled. Aang was alone here. Team Avatar may have parted ways so that everyone could follow their own paths and tend to their new responsibilities, but they never stopped being a family. Aang would make a point to visit Toph's metal bending academy, and Sokka never missed a chance to stop by and catch up. Katara... well... they had their little lover's quarrels, but they were never apart. And then there was Zuko; the busiest of them all. Poor guy.
Then again, maybe this was for the best. This world could be dangerous - or maybe only he could enter it; like the Spirit world. The thought had Aang looking around with a renewed curiosity. Why was he chosen? What did this Omni want? Was he some sort of powerful spirit?
Regardless. Aang rationalized this new world was worth exploring. Maybe he could find a way back, or maybe he they had appeared elsewhere. For all he knew, the whole gang could have poofed in to the same greeting. The only thing he knew is that they were not HERE.
There was no sense standing still. Aang moves on only physically. He drags the past with him through memories and a heavy heart. A few steps in, he stopped. His eyes darted around for a moment. "I have nooo idea where I'm going..."

The stifling heat in the apartment made the yellowed wall paper of the stuffy room seem even more piss stained than normal. Summer was fast approaching and with the broiling heat and humidity came the fucking. There seems to be some odd flaw in the human mind's programming that just compels ‘em to press sweating flesh against sweating flesh, forcing every rat-bastard and bitch to wetly flop around on top of each other like a couple of stinkin’ cod dying in some fish monger's stall.
Of course, that wasn't the only kind of fucking mankind loved. Every greased gooser and pussy punter looking for a score, cheap hit or even cheaper thrill knew the way the world turned… it revolved on crime, and the dirtier the deed, the better the pay. Sure, there's plenty of triggermen out there looking to pop something off for a quick buck or fuck, but the cesspool of society had just as many dames looking to take your wad, rather it be cash or cum.
Just because Sergeant John Estes, also known as MAD BULL 34 to his enemies and “Sleepy” to his friends, was a cop didn't mean he wasn't down for a little bit of both. The giant bear of a man rested languidly on the queen-sized bed of some two-bit hooker, the flimsy aluminum legs wobbling under his immense girth as his body dominated the entire sex-stained mattress. Somewhere within the vast ocean of bulging muscles of MAD BULL 34, Joesy Ann Jones swam amidst the man's encompassing biceps and triceps.
With a static crackle from the walkie-talkie dangling from his gun belt that was draped across a chair, a meek little voice squawked out, “Calling Mad Bull, calling Mad Bull! Do you copy!? Over!”
The cop hurmpted loudly and turned over in the bed, his mass tangling and tugging all the sheets, launching Joesy to the floor.
“Hey!! What's the big idea, eh?!” She squealed in an irritatingly nasal voice. A mouse, frightened by the sound, scampered from under the bed and seemed to squeak it's agreement.
“Answer the phone, will ya bitch?” Mad Bull huffed.
Gingerly picking up the walkie-talkie, she squeezed the button and asked, “Hellooo? Who's der?”
The radio statically replied, "Who's there?" It continued, incredulously, "Who the hell is this! This is a police frequency for official police business...Over!”
Joesy held the device as if it was a dead rat -it's antennae the tail- and crinkled her below average face at it. “Sleepy!” her nasally voice whined, “they said it's official police…”
“Shattup!” he barked. “I got ears don't I?”
“Wells, I guess ya do Sleepy…” she muttered with some thought.
Mad Bull groaned as he rose to a sitting position in the bed, but the strained legs of the bed groaned louder under his massive weight.
“Tell 'em I'm busy…” he grumbled underneath his thick Burt Reynolds style mustache.
Joesy looked at Mad Bull, then at the radio still dangling in her fingers.
“He's busy he says!”
After a few quiet moments passed, the walkie-talkie squawked back, “You have to say 'Over!’ when you're done talking, it's police protocol! Over!” the little voice on the other end complained.
“But I ain't a cop!” she complained.
Expecting a harsh response from the man in the radio, she preemptively winced… but there was no reply.
“Oh! Tehehe!” she exclaimed with realization. “Over!”
MAD BULL 34 decided he'd rather kill himself than listen to anymore of this useless shit, and began to put forth an effort to dress back into his uniform. First the pants, with no underwear. He couldn't understand how any self-respecting man could agree to confine his loins to the boundaries of some tight little white panties. In his mind, it was simply to unnatural to comprehend.
Next, he snatched his blue police shirt, adorned with the many badges for death and valor for which he had earned. Even though it was the biggest size the department carried, it fit his swelling pectorals snugly. The top two buttons couldn't stretch across, so his voluminous chest hair bristled out.
Walking past the whore that was still crouching on the filthy floor, he lumbered towards a battered old nightstand and picked up his hat. The shield emblem on the front read “34,” indicating the precinct he was assigned to. MAD BULL was a legend in the 34th, renown for his violence, sadism and willingness to shoot and not bother asking questions later.
Also atop the nightstand was his unholstered gun. The piece was a masterpiece of brutality. The steel forged revolver was engraved with the words “SMITH & WESSON NY-1” down the barrel and it was likely the last thing dozens of criminal scum had ever read before he pulled the trigger. Six .38 special rounds slept in the chamber, waiting for an excuse to fly out and embody MAD BULL 34’s unquenchable wrath. Sleepy buckled the belt to his waist and slid the thunderous weapon into its leather hip-holster.
His bear-like paw took the walk-talkie from Joesy and the radio seemed like a child’s toy in his massive palm.
Depressing the talk button, Mad Bull spoke into the receiver, “That’s a 10-9 dispatch, can you run that by me again? Over!”
“Copy that, Sergeant Estes! We got a 10-31 in progress in the vicinity of Alpine Alley. Two assailants wearing Floral Gang colors. Officer Diego is presumed down and requiring back-up, over!”
MAD BULL swung open the cylinder of his revolver and gave his rounds a quick look.
“10-4 on that Dispatch. I’ll be in-route shortly. Over and out!”
Clipping the radio to his belt, the swarthy cop looked down on Joesy who was making a pouty face.
She fussed, “Why ya gotta go so soon, huh?”
He gave a noncommittal grunt and brushed at the long hairs of his mustache. With a single meaty hand he reached into the nightstand drawer and withdrew a fist-full of paper currency.
“HEY!” Joesy protested, her nasally voice reaching an ear-splitting tone. “That wad took me over a week to get!”
Paying no heed, MAD BULL shoved the dirty bills into his front pocket and began to meander towards the door.
“You ain’t takin’ my scratch again! Common bully-baby! Momma’s gotta eat too!”
“Shattup!” he chided.
“I ain’t shattin’ up, I need that bread!” she cried as she leapt onto his back and dug her nails into the blue cloth of his police shirt.
“Look here you rat!” he exclaimed before he tossed her into the nightstand, sending cosmetics, splinters and condoms flying. With finality he stopped in the threshold of the doorway and commanded, “I’ll be back next Tuesday, and don’t you forget it!”

John Estes fluttered his eyes, opening them apprehensively. The ivory white chamber was almost blinding at first, but after a time, he adjusted and began to settle. He found himself sitting on the edge of a fountain, as stark naked as the day he was born.
John Estes was a cop where he had come from, and a damn good one… depending on who you asked. His enemies called him Mad Bull, but his friends called him “Sleepy,” and that's just how he felt at the moment. With confusion, the burly, muscled man scratched at the great Burt Reynolds style mustache that bristled on his upper lip.
“Goddamnit, that's the last time I eat the double gyro special and down a fifth of Jack before I hit the hay…” he muttered.
After taking some time to compose himself, he spotted in the distance a column of Imperial soldiers marching along the Nexus in route to the fountain.
“Come to think of it, the dealer I busted last night mighta been tradin’ in PCP or LSD…” he mused.
The measured steps of the column soon stopped near the fountain and each soldier stood firmly at attention as their grey garbed captain approached the naked pile of man-beef.
“Hail Prime. Perhaps you feel a momentary sense of confusion, but worry not for this emotion is not uncommon among your kind that find their way here. As we have proposed to many, I would like to suggest you serve the Emperor of this new land of yours."
“An emperor...that's like a king or somethin’, yeah?”
“Quite. It's very much like a king…” the captain raised an eyebrow and steepled his fingers for effect, “...but better.”
He continued, “A man of your stature and size, pardon my presumption, but may I ask if you were a warrior, fighter, or soldier of your former land?”
MAD BULL stood up with a grumble, cracked the bones of his back, then his knuckles. Fully erect, he stood a head and shoulder taller than the not-insignificant captain. “I was a cop, small-fry. You need cops in this Christmas-land lookin’ place?”
The captain’s nose wrinkled. “This area is just a gateway to our world, and yes, we have need of law officers such as yourself to keep the peace...especially amongst the ruffians and rogues you are no doubt so intimately accustomed to.”
“You want me to be a cop, eh?”
“Why yes, if you don’t mind.”
“And you’d give me a gun?”
“Assuredly.”
“I could bust up criminals?”
“Yes.”
“...and plow dames?”
“Certainly?”
“Booze it up nightly?”
“If you were so inclined.”
“So this is real, this just ain’t like some PCP freakout?”
“A PC.... what?”
MAD BULL slapped the captain brutishly on the shoulder. “Lead on small-fry. I’ll bust perps and crack cases for ya if that's what you want, just show me the way.”
