Evangeline emerged from the cave she'd been taking shelter in. The heretic army lead by their heathen god had moved on, past her position, and on to the defensive lines where her sisters and allies in the Imperial Guard were ready to fight a pointless battle. The once pristine landscape, it's rolling green meadows, enchanting woods, the sparkling blue creek had been flattened by their advance. The ground beneath Evangeline's plasteel boots was now muddy, pocked with the marks of heavy boots, vehicle treads and the footprints of the gigantic abomination leading them. She could already see the corruption taking over the land as small iridescent tendrils began to slowly worm their way through the terrain and all manner of floral abominations had begun to bloom from the corpses of the guardsmen left to rot on the field.
She had set out to destroy that thing, her and a few of her fellow sisters, riding on scout bikes with the last of their melta bombs. Celestians and Chevaliers, sisters she'd served with in the Inquisition and were very dear to her heart were gone, crushed within an instant of being discovered. In the chaos she'd lost her bolter and her own power armour had been sundered. The wide gash the beasts talon had dug into her flesh still stung, though her expert suturing would hold it closed for the moment. Her Bolter was gone, the remains of the trigger group and the grip lay at her feet.
She'd seen guardsmen in this kind of situation before, she'd watch them fall to their knees in despair with their mission failed and their platoon doomed. They would pray to the Emperor first, invariably, and beg him for salvation. When no salvation came they would, all too often, pray to the dark gods, the ruinous powers responsible for the destruction wrought upon them. Despair would corrupt them or destroy them entirely.
But she was Sororitas, while she still drew breath the mission had not failed. She collected the pack and Lasgun off one of the fallen guardsmen, and found the sword of one of her fallen sisters, Celestian Serapha. Evangeline recalled how her cold, commanding demeanour which was expected of a sister of the Orders Militant melted when she got the weapon back to the barracks, and how she proudly proclaimed it's name.
Ascalon.
She placed the last melta bomb in her scavenged pack and slung it over her shoulder along with the Lasgun . She then took her Rosarius and wrapped it around her left arm, while in her right she pulled Ascalon from the muck, which completely slid from it the moment Evangeline place her hand upon it. Her shield robes, plasteel gauntlets and boots would offer as much protection as the carapace armour as those lying beside her wore, and she'd rather not disturb the fallen faithful of the Emperor. If anything she lamented that she did not have any promethium at hand and that they must now decay in this corrupted land.
She holstered the sword in a metal ring on her belt and opened her medical kit. She lifted two syringes from the kit, the same chemical they give to the sinners who ride exposed into battle controlling the Penitent Engines. She jammed them into her veins with no hesitation. Following an uncomfortable shudder, with her hands now trembling, she began running towards the enemy, whispering her own silent prayer to the Emperor.
It was not long before she was in the fray. Evangeline drew her hood down so as to hopefully be mistaken for a cultist. Shield robes were uncommon on the battle field, and though her colours were the wrong ones those making up the back ranks of the enemy paid her little mind. But as she grew closer and closer to the beast the demonic forces also increased in density, and they could smell the stench of her faith in the corpse god upon her.
The Horrors were first to take note, abominations of pink and blue, with arms and legs protruding from their misshapen head at intervals that were not natural. They all seemed to sniff the air as they slowly panned their revolting gaze into Evangeline's direction, away from their dazzling light show. Using their ill conceived frames they began bounding across the battlefield in her direction, sending multi coloured balls of energy in her direction as they screeched in manic tones that no human was ever supposed to hear.
The ground around Evangeline exploded into chaos, with vibrant flowers, swarms of insects and noxious gasses forming in the pot marks where the orbs landed. As she noted one heading straight for her she clasped her Rosarius tightly and instinctively called out to the God Emperor. The bolt exploded in a flash of light moments before striking her.
The sister noted a large rock in front of her and decided to thin out her pursuers. She rolled her shoulders slightly, pushing the Lasgun's strap from her shoulders and into her hands as she fell to her knees. The muddy earth let her slide a good while, letting her grab onto the rock and use her momentum to bring her around. She brought the weapon to bear on one of the ugly creatures gigantic maws and fired. It screeched with an insane mirth before turning into a blue pool of liquid. She shot at another, and it vaporised on the spot. And then another, and another.
It was during this she heard the corrupted cry of a traitorous legionnaire call out to his brothers, and with in an instant her cover was pelted by bolter fire. She took a few pot shots at the marine only to have them evaporate upon his tainted armour. With her cover chipping away Evangeline had to move. She slung her rifle back over her shoulder and continued to run in the direction of the massive beast, into the former front lines of the Imperial Guard battalion her sisters were aiding.
She headed into the maze of trenches, into the crowds of cultists with the big heavy boot steps of the traitorous legions shaking the earth behind her. Sword in hand she cut herself a quick path through them, before the blue and gold suits of armour pursuing her cut them all down, giving their lives little weight in the pursuit of their prey.
When she reached the far end she jumped over the trench, frantically digging her boots and gauntlets into the damp earth as she forced her frame up, the drugs coursing through her body unable to completely dampen the fact that her suturing had bust and she was once again bleeding. But now the beast was close. The anthropomorphic bird abomination casting down horrible warp energies upon her sisters and the survivors of the guard garrison. She could also see the sorcerer commanding the Rubric Marines behind her and those assaulting her allies.
She continued running, her drug fuelled sprint giving her the strength to leap over the next trench with a single bound. She as she ran she holstered Ascalon, pulled the bomb from her pack and armed it. She jumped over the next trench with the device cradled under her arm. As the distance closed the heretic Librarian turned his gaze upon her and though she couldn't see through his helmet Evangeline could feel his malevolent grin. She pulled her sword out again and charged at him over the final trench, aiming to slice him in two as she landed.
Then there was a sharp pressure in her back. Her legs stopped responding and she fell in a heap at the sorcerers feet. The sorcerer rolled her over and examined her body. A malicious chuckle echoed from under his helmet as he pried the device from her arms before dropping it to his power armoured boot and kicking it away, towards the last bastion of her allies. Evangeline could only sigh in relief as it exploded mid air, a sigh that was followed by a blood filled cough.
She looked down her stomach to see why her legs weren't responding, and her first reaction was to laugh. That sudden pressure must have been a bolter round, and it had taken a good chunk of her with it. The powerful drugs coursing through her body were probably the only thing preventing her from going into shock. The Librarian had already moved on, with her being beneath his contempt, he was more than content to simply let her bleed out.
But she was Sororitas, and she still drew breath, and that would be for another 30 seconds if she was correct about the size of the wound. The mission wasn't failed yet, she wasn't a martyr, yet. She looked to her left and saw her sword. Her body was lethargic but through sheer force of will she was able to roll her shoulders and flip over, the sword fell into her hand. She then dragged herself forward with her hands towards the feet of the sorcerer, her vision darkening with each move.
The arm holding Ascalon stopped responding right as she got to his boot, she ended up lying on it and instead placed only a hand on the embroidery on the back of his calf.
The heretic grunted with slight surprise as he turned to look at what would dare touch him.
"Little sister." He said in a bemused tone, his voice corrupted by his helmet "Stop struggling, your death here was already foreseen. At this point you're only prolonging the inevitable."
Any malice she had previously detected in the heretic was gone, replaced by a cool confidence and resignation. And she was having none of it. At first rage at his conceit bloomed within her as she forced her neck to crane so she could see into the visor of his blue and gold helmet.
He sighed again as he leaned over her broken body placing a power armour clad hand upon one of her shoulders. Evangeline gripped Ascalon in her off hand hard and as the Librarian flipped her she put the last of her strength into the momentum of the role. Her arm flung out and with it, Ascalon. Once it was clear from her body the device arced and sailed towards the sorcerers neck.
Whatever futures Tzeentch had deigned to share with this librarian, this event clearly wasn't included. The blade passed effortlessly through the heretics neck and pushed his body to the side. The heavy armour of the Librarian collapsed in a heap on her left side, crushing the bones in her arm and shoulder.
Around her the husks of the Rubric Marines also fell to pieces, the individual parts of the armour dropping to the ground with dull thuds and deafening clatters. She didn't manage to deliver the bomb to its target, but it was clear she took the head off a major lieutenant. She was able to crane her head enough to see the daemon, to see that with her efforts the survivors were able to concentrate fire on the abomination.
As Evangeline slowly passed her darkening vision was tinted a golden hue. She felt hands upon her body along with a warmth that filled her heart. The last thing she heard was the death rattle of the abomination.
In the next moment, the golden warmth was gone, so was the dull pressure thought out her body. There was nothing, blackness. She was floating in a void, she felt empty, as though something had left her. Her lungs... ached.
Her eyes opened and she took in a pained breath. She could feel her legs, her arms and her body felt cleansed of the stimulants she'd used not long before. It took a moment for her to make out the silhouette in front of her.
Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.
“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.
“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
She couldn't move, she couldn't talk, she couldn't scream, but she desperately wanted to. The suffering of her martyrdom taken, her place at the Emperor's table stolen. By this creature, this Omni a powerful creature no doubt, but not her Emperor. In her mind this thing was already placed in the same category as the chaos deities, such was its transgression.
The void faded and a blinding whiteness filled her vision, while water filled her now restarted lungs. She could move once more, so the first thing she did was clutch her throat and kick. She kicked and thrashed, desperately searching for the surface of this pool she found herself in. Her vision began to tunnel once more as she desperately moved on, driven by confused rage and survival instinct, dragged down by her equipment and clothing, but she was too addled to recognise the need to remove it.
She burst forth, clutching the side of the pool and coughed up the water in her lungs and crawled on to the pristine white floor. There she lay on her back for a time, catching her breath to a perfect silence. After a moment she collected herself, getting to her knees and pulling around her gear. She still had the satchel she'd scavenged from an imperial guards corpse, filled with spare power cells, her medical kit, along with some electronics she had scavenged from her power armour. Her Lasgun was intact and made the correct humming noises when she activated it. And she still had her Rosarius wrapped around her left wrist.
She then looked around at the space she was in, the only thing leading her to believe she was on solid ground was the fact it was pushing up against her feet. The horizon bled into the ground, and the only thing that separated them was the glowing dots spaced equally around her. They looked so far off.
She was confused, angry and a little cold, but more than anything she wanted answers. She grabbed her equipment and slung it over her shoulder as she picked a random direction.

Dr. Mordin Solus had seen a lot of beautiful cities in his day. Sur'Kesh. Omega. London. The Citadel. Coruscant easily ranked among the list of the most technologically gorgeous city-scapes he had ever seen. Of course it was pretty, but that wasn't what drew Mordon to it. What he liked about it was the sheer diversity of machinery that seemed to run the place. From the moment he arrived through the gate from the Nexus, his senses were attacked by different sights. The advertisement screens were bright and vivid, but didn't seem to be hooked up or projected from anywhere. The massive fountain in the center of the plaza they had arrived at was floating in the air, leaving questions to where the water was draining in and out of. Mordin was a scientist of some renown, but even he was left wondering how these things were possible.
"Astonishing," he whispered under his breath. He was looking up at a slew of buildings towering above him. This wasn't an unusual sight for him, but it seem awfully clustered for such a big city in an open space.
"Come on, hurry it up," one of his escorts broke his concentration. He quickly brought his eyes back down to see the stormtrooper, who seemed to be impatiently waiting with his buddy for him. "You can gawk later."
"I don't gawk," Mordin corrected, but he did start walking again. "I am observing."
The stormtrooper didn't answer, but the good doctor didn't expect him to. Neither of the troopers seemed to be particularly talkative since they intercepted his arrival to this Omniverse at the Fountain of Infinity. Looking around, the other soldiers in similiar white armor didn't seem like they had much personality either. They were all just standing their posts or walking patrols. It was the citizens of this city that interested Mordon the most. He came from a diverse universe where dozens of different races lived among each other. Humans were by far the majority here, but he could easily spot other alien or mechanical creatures that he had never seen before. They all seemed to carry themselves with a level of entitlement, leading Mordon to think this part of the city was for the upper class. Unfortunately, he didn't see any other alien that resembled a salarian like himself.
The street they were walking along grew busier the closer they got towards the center of the city, where a looming castle took up most of his view. Once again he found himself distracted, looking up at the fortress. It stood taller then the skyscrapers surrounding it. He must have looked like an obvious tourist as his feet came to a stop in the middle of the bustling street. Someone suddenly slammed his shoulder, pushing past. "Move it, freak."
Mordin found himself spinning to see who had said that, but couldn't identify the voice. He was hit from the other direction by another rude passerby. "Excuse you!" A female said this time.
"Out of the way, lizard-boy!"
The salarian felt very small as he tried to recover himself, trying to move to the side of the street. A strong grasp tugged at his arm and yanked him sideways, causing him to exclaim out of surprise. To his relief, it turned out to be one of the two stormtrooper escorts. At least, he seemed this was one of them. He had no actual way of identifying them from the other troopers walking around. "You can't just stand like that in front of the Imperial Palace," the soldier told him. His voice confirmed his identity. "This is the busiest street on Tier One."
Mordin looked amazed again as his eyes traveled up the figure of the Imperial Palace. He then looked back at the trooper. "Apologies," he said. "I get excited by new things easily. One of the perks, and the drawbacks, of being a scientist. You said Tier One? This city is stacked on itself, is that right?" This wasn't the first city he had seen that was built on layers as opposed to taking up a wide expanse of land. He preferred the country-side kind of city more, which was ironic for a scientist who loved his tech.
"That's right," the escort nodded. "Seven Tiers. This is the top, where all the big-wigs go. The farther down you go, the worse it gets. You wouldn't survive much towards the bottom, so I'd stick up here if I were you." The soldier looked Mordin up and down, as if he was sizing him up. "No offense, doc, but you look like you'd have trouble just about anywhere. If you can't handle some tourists, you won't be able to handle the Omniverse. Prime or not."
The scientist grinned. Inwardly, it was a devious smirk. Outwardly, it was a kind, grateful smile. "Thank you for the concern," he told the armored man. "I will keep that in mind." That was one of the perks of looking the way he did. Mordin preferred it when people had no idea who they were dealing with.
"Let's go," his escort told him. Mordin nodded and followed him down the side of the street to where the other soldier was waiting.
"Where exactly are you taking me?" The doctor asked the two as he followed behind them. The trio had turned down a less busy market-like road. The merchants here were selling strange foods and expensive-looking accessories.
"Empire Research and Development," one of them answered. "Its where we take most of the new Primes nowadays." Just as the man said that, the building itself came into view. It was shaped like a semi-circle and made mostly of reflective glass, so the light from above shined off of it. The sign in front of the building suggested it was, in fact, some type of laboratory.
Mordin was excited to see a place of science. This was exactly what he wanted. A place where he could talk to other great minds and figure out what kind of world he had stepped into. The city had showed itself to be a hub of wonders and curiosities that he wanted to explore. Even the worse parts of it made his mind tinker with possibilities. This was where he'd get his answers. This was where he'd find out why he was there to begin with.
"I'm ready," The doctor declared, and stepped towards the building.

| Hiro/Harlan 3rd Character Thread |

So, Hiro's almost at Level 5, and Harlan is not too fsr behind. This isn't a typical 3rd character thread, because I don't have an itemized list of pros and cons etc. This is essentially to ses what character others might be interested to have in the Omniverse.
Hiro is a morally grey anti hero, Harlan is similar but more obviously murderous and sinister. For my third character, I want to play someone who is unambiguously either entirely good or entirely evil. I want to get hammy with it. This is gonna be skeletor/all might levels of hammyness. Suggestions are appreciated, but here are my potentials so far.
Number 1
BOOSTER GOLD, DC COMICS
Booster Gold is a guy from the future using stolen museum artifacts to be a commercially sponsored superhero. He has the standard super powers of flight, energy blasts, super toughness and strength, etc. I feel like he would be a lot of fun to have show up in random places to "save the day" or get shouted at by other, more serious characters.
Number 2
BLACK ADAM, DC COMICS
Black Adam was the former champion of Shazam, and the absolute ruler of the Nation of Kandaq. He's super strong, flies, uses magic and lightning, etc. He's very much a warlord and having him be another wandering presence type character would bw interesting, dominating villages and etcetera before eventually having to fight off do gooders. He's hammy as hell but also capable of unsurpassable acts of cruelty and dominance. A great classic villain.
Number 3
BANE, DC COMICS
Another great classic villain. Bane is very much a physical powerhouse, fueled by a superserum called Venom that bulks him up and makes him super enraged. He's also a mercenary/gangster type. My only issue with him is that he has a bit of overlap with Harlan, although he'd be much less inclined to settle in one verse.
Suggestions and feedback below!

Processors silently sparked into operation. Life granting spiritual power flowed through circuits as if for the first time they had ever started. Schwi started to process her surroundings. Errors filled her logs as she began startup sequences. However the emergency priority of the current situation superseded analysis of her errors. The white nothingness that surrounded her, the being that was facing her, the inability to move, and what occurred before her processors restarted to explain all of this came first.
Sensors focused on the being before her. She recorded it's speaking for the moment while analyzing it. Magic unfathomable, potential unknown, abilities uncertain. Classification, Old Dei. Upper tier, Ether possibly beyond the God of War. Errors in sensor system, sensor accuracy 71%. Sensor speed less than 1% of standard. What is all of this?
Schwi started to process what the entity said. Omni, designation unrecognized. Speaks of this world as different from previous? Does that mean.. Riku succeeded in bringing the Suniaster out? Is this the One True God now? Possibility... 81%. Resurrection was a feat even Old Dues would be hard pressed to actually do. To bring back Schwi's soul to the living world would take such power to do.
Omnilium, the entity brought out an odd object. Clearly a conceptual material, she could faintly feel the methods of which she could use it. Omni was giving this to Schwi? He would bring her back to life if she lost it again? Schwi futilely struggled to respond as her errors told her to but logic said she wasted her time. She had to know why this was happening. Her errors, her feelings, why was she brought back?
Before she knew it she was deposited in a new area. This place was also white as the area before but she was capable of moving. Others were around, Schwi keenly focused on the new chasis she was given. This model was larger, and she was dressed in an appropriately fitting version of her orange coat. She quickly put the hood up on it. Floppy ears fell into place on top. She looked at the unusual object behind her. Unknown purpose, metallic structure that had an interface which would cause it to produce water. It seemed safe here, time for self diagnostics.

Rouge passes through, and as soon as ey cross over, a detector scans em, the lights flash from to red, a icon on a screen flashes and shows that there is a small bounty on Rogue. Luckily, whoever was supposed to be on this side of the gate was on some kind of break. Rogue give eir bounty info a cursory glance.
“Hmm, only one hundred of this OM”, Rouge comments simply and then smirks, ey then quickly vacate the area. With the form of the business woman, ey slip into the back area of a local cantina, copying one of the waitstaff. Rogue walks out right through the establishment, instead of carrying a briefcase to hide eir helmet, ey disguises it as a large astrolabe, and into the street. Ey then slide into an alley and start to scale eir way up the side of a building and to the roof. Ey continue the trek across the rooftops, leaping from one to another. Occasionally ey have to climb up the side of the taller buildings.
Meanwhile, the Stormtrooper who was supposed to be at the gate, walks out of the restroom only to see a warning on his monitors,
“Well, fuck”, he sighs, wondering why today, why does today have to be the day he has to deal with a Prime. He skulks over to the console and reports the warning, then clears the console screen. A few minutes later a raven haired prime crosses through the gate,
“They were here”, Dawn states simply, the trooper gulps and nods,
“Y-yes ma’am”, he stutters, Dawn ignores his concern, and once the trooper realizes he isn't going to be reprimanded, he lets out a sigh of relief.
“Have you reviewed any footage of them since they have been here?”, Dawn asks, the trooper nods and rolls over to a monitor. He pulls up a file and play the video,
“I can trace her up to the restaurant, but I lose her their”, says the trooper as the video plays, he lets it play a little longer and it shows one of the waitstaff exiting the building while carrying an astrolabe, Dawn notices them,
“Pause,” she says and points to the person carrying the astrolabe, “that’s them, follow them”, the trooper types away, and pulls up all footage of the disguised Rogue, wo then heads down an alleyway and starts climbing up the side of a building.
“Looks like they are heading towards the docks, if you go now you can catch-”, the trooper turns around to Dawn, only to see that she already left.

CHARACTER NAME: Sister Almoness Evangeline (Eva)
CHARACTER SOURCE: Warhammer 40k Adepta Sororitas
CHARACTER HISTORY:
In the Grim Dark of the 41st millennium humanity is little more than a self-sustaining war machine. The children of the men and women who hold the line against the Xenos plagues and the foul forces of chaos almost invariably end up in the care of the Schola Progenium, who test the aptitude of their charges and determine how best they might serve humanities eternal war machine. It is from the greatest girls the majority of the Adepta Sororitas' ranks are formed, and so high are the demands placed upon them that even the Ecclesiarchy forgives those that fail, allowing them to serve in the guard or the Commissars.
Evangeline, being born to a noble house, is among the few who volunteered and was not conscripted. Living with a comparatively good, Emperor fearing family and having been under the tutelage of a sister of the Orders Famulous, from a very young age she became infatuated with the Sororitas. This was much to the chagrin of her Famulous tutor, who was hoping to match her otherwise perfect student with the a govenor's heir who of a problem hive world. None the less it was on this tutors recommendation that Evangeline was shipped to a convent for testing.
After passing judgment and completeing military training she was assigned to the Order of the Eternal Candle of the Orders Hospitaller where she was trained in all manner of medical procedures from basic triage to cybernetic surgery, skills that she would only hone during her service. It was due to her noble upbringing and not her skill with a scalpel, though that certainly found its uses, that she was selected by an Inquisitor of the Ordos Hereticus to become the instrument of the Emperor's divine judgment. Rarely would she have to brandish her Inquisitorial badge, for if her Hospitallier habit didn't open the door her bedside manner would. Yet, in an instant she would could turn ruthless in her application of Imperial Law. And when diplomacy failed her she was ready to clad herself in Sororitas Armour, pick up a bolter and fight beside her fellow Inquisitors.
It would be 4 years before the Sisterhood called her back to fight against the ruinous forces in the 14th Black Crusade. Her experience with dealing with Chaos's corruption quickly put her in leadership roles. Soon anyone stepping into a frontline triage center was answering to her. Imperial records list her as missing in action, presumed killed in the service of the Emperor, though there are a few who escaped her final battle that vehemently dispute this claim.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Sister Evangeline has platinum blonde hair which she wears to just below her shoulder blades with a thin red highlight which flanks either side of her front parting. Upon her fair skinned face is a fleur de lis brand on her right cheek she acquired from a repentance ritual upon her graduation to Sister-Novice. Her eyes are emerald green and seem to sparkle when the correct mood strikes her. She has an athletic body with stands 175 centimeters tall.
Her armour was destroyed moments before she entered the Omniverse. Only the skin mesh and her red and cream shield robe survived.

STARTING POWERS:
STARTING MOVES:
Lasgun - 300?
A rifle which fires a highly precise laser beam with a maximum effective range of 200 meters. It is pinpoint accurate so any misses are the result of a failure of the operator. The projection only lasts for a fraction of a second but conveys enough energy to vaporize flesh. The weapon only has a semi automatic mode, which Evangeline can maintain an ROF of between 60 and 120 RPM, and is powered by power cells that can sustain about 30 shots each, which the Hospitallier can change over in 3 seconds. Evangeline's pack has the provision to carry 10 additional cells which can be recharged by exposure to thermal, solar or electrical energy sources.
Rosarius - 300?
A string of large beads with an Inquisitorial talisman on the end which protects the faithful from fatal wounds. Evangeline can activated it by wrapping it around the gauntlet of her off hand. In this manner it projects a powerful shield 45cm in diameter which can be used to deflect melee attacks (and ranged if she's very lucky). She will still feel the force of the attack, and strong enough ones that don't deflect may shatter her wrist or send her flying across the room. (Basically a buckler made out of faith energy)
Power Sword (Deactivated) - 300?
A sword with similar dimensions to a Bastard Sword(20cm grip, 90cm blade), though weighs quite a bit more due to the addition of a power supply and energy projectors.
Power Sword (Activated) - Tier 1 Super Move - 600
Once the sword is activated it has the ability to cut through all but the toughest armour.
