  BeastMaker: Revan vs Jzall
Posted by: Revan Noctis - 11-11-2017, 08:20 AM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (6)

It’s time to duel!

Arriving by special invitation to the beautiful patch of land in the Vasty Deep two Primes meet and face each other in a place known simply as Duel Island. The island though aesthetically pleasing had been transformed into a field of battle for holographic creatures, these battles would become known only as BeastMaker!

Revan stood in a green field believing himself to be alone, a rumble was felt as the ground shook around him, the ground opened up next to him as a large platform rose out of the ground. Revan took notice the platform looked to be made up of extremely advanced technologies like that found on Coruscant.

Revan had been told his purpose coming here was to challenge another prime to battle, now he realised this would be no normal fight. Still there was not yet any sign of any other Prime. Where was his would be opponent?

  Beastmaker: The Game
Posted by: Amaterasu - 11-11-2017, 07:02 AM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (11)

A little background
Well, I doubt that anyone here knows the fantasy book series called "The seventh tower" (by Garth Nix), but all credit goes to the author for coming up with the game and rules. I figured that I might as well share it with you guys.

The premise

Beastmaker is a boardgame played by at least two people, wherein you draw cards representing monsters and place them into seven slots on the board that each represent an attribute: intelligence, heart, temper, skin, speed, strength and Joker. The board then creates a beast based on those seven attributes. Finally, the beasts battle to the death, with the winner being the last one standing.
As a traditional boardgame this would probably necessitate various rules and such to determine a winner, but it makes for good writing material for people who want something a little more laid-back than traditional Omniverse fights.

The rules

First, the board: like any boardgame it's a fairly small, maybe 1x1 meters or so (or perhaps someone would like to make an enormous duel arena, Yugioh style?) shaped roughly like a roman colosseum: the center is formed by a circular arena surrounded by walls which hold a number of magic stones that project light to create a hologram of the beasts during the battle phase. For each player there are seven rectangular slots into which the players lay their cards.
The seven slots are the core part of the game's drawing and swapping phases: they govern the attributes of the beast that will be summoned during the battle phase, it is thus advisable for each player to pick their cards well, though some luck is also involved.
Note: What each slot does for your monster is pretty much up to your interpretation, so long as it's credible (a Goron placed in the Speed slot won't be lightning fast).

-Intelligence: How smart is the beast, but also how does it think? Predators for instance will be more aggressive, but a human-type race would formulate plans.

-Heart: What type of internal organs does the beast have? Swift creatures would need organs suited for bursts of speed, whereas endurant ones need durable organs.

-Temper: Fairly simple, this one determines the temper of the creature and complements Intelligence. Is it calm, aggressive or patient?

-Skin: Fairly simple too: what's the creature's skin like? Fur or scales, can it camouflage or is it sticky? It's also an important factor in the creature's defense.

-Speed: How fast is the creature, and what "type" of speed? Is it endurant for long stretches of time or can it move lightning-fast but tires quickly?

-Strength: Possibly the simplest - how great is the creature's raw physical strength? Some creatures may also complement their weak muscles with magic power though.

-Joker: The wild card among the attributes, Joker gives the beast a special property. For instance if a card of a flying creature is put here the beast may be winged, whereas placing a dwarf would give the beast an axe or hammer as a weapon.
Note: This one is the most open to interpretation by the writers. An "Eagle" card placed in this slot could give your creature feathered wings, or it could give it extremely sharp sight. It could also give it a sharp beak or talons. The key is to write something credible.

Speaking of cards: there's also a card deck. Each card has a picture of a creature of the Omniverse on it (monster, humanoid, anything goes), and a standard back so they're indistinguishable from each other when face down. There must be at least 14 cards to play but there's no upper limit. Each creature on each card has seven attributes but they aren't described on the card. The only way for a player to really know what a card does is to either have played Beastmaker before, or to have studied, read about or met the creature in the Omniverse themselves, giving seasoned and experienced Omniversians a great advantage.

The game is divided into three phases: the drawing phase, the swapping phase and the battle phase. These occur one after another in that order and each have their own separate rules.

The drawing phase: in turn, each player draws a card and decides which of the seven slots to place it in, face down. Each slot can only be occupied once. Once all seven cards are drawn and placed by both players they reveal their respective seven cards and the game progresses into the swapping phase.
(Note: Omniverse-specific rules exist to regulate this. Please read below)

The swapping phase: a short phase wherein the players may freely look at their opponent's seven slots and decide if they want to adapt their beast to their opponent's by doing up to two swaps - which, just as it sounds, means to swap two cards into each other's slots - and/or one discard - which means to discard a card from one of the seven slots and replacing it with a new one from the deck. Swapping and discarding are both not mandatory.

The battle phase: Once both players declare that they are ready the board projects a hologram of the beasts into the central arena, which then battle. The players may give orders or advice but the beasts are free to listen or act otherwise (if they can even understand the words). The battle goes on until only one beast remains standing.

OOC Rules:
Drawing Phase: The cards are given to the players by a neutral game-master. This person picks seven random cards for each player and PMs them. The players then respond, also in PMs, how they want to fill their slots, before writing their post. This is to prevent the players from cheating by picking optimal cards or waiting for their opponent's post to decide on the placement of their own.
A player's post must include them placing each card into a slot, and briefly describing what that will result in.

Swapping Phase: As for the drawing phase the players must first PM the game master about what swaps and discards they want to do, if any, to prevent reacting to an opponent's strategy.
A player's post must include them swapping or discarding cards, and describing the beast that is summoned as the Battle Phase is about to start.

Battle Phase: This follows the standard Omniverse combat gameplay. Beasts don't have any moves or powers unless they were given something by their Joker card. It is also possible for the players to agree to placing the beasts in a battlefield of some sort.

Word count and time limits are decided by the players. Number of rounds must be 3 at least (one for Drawing, Swapping and Battle phase respectively) but can be more.

The cards
Every Omniverse being can be depicted, as well as the number of cards in each suit if you want to roll random numbers to pick a card. Suggestions are welcome! (Suits are just to order the cards and don't have a gameplay element)

Basic Jump - 300

STARTING MOVES: 600
Claws: 300
Alex shifts the biomass in one of his hands into a four-digit blade like structure. The change effects his entire arm, taking on a wicked, sickly black form. The transformation takes three seconds, but is not fatiguing in itself. The claws are fast and agile, requiring minor fatigue to use, making them his go-to weapon. They don't fair well against higher defense, and are more meant for minor slashing damage, perfect against unarmored targets.

Hammerfist: 300
This huge mother of trucks has no license plate. It takes three seconds to transform an arm into this dense, massive glob of biomass. The fist is a bit larger than a basketball at the base with a thickness that extends up to the elbow. The mutation transforms up to the shoulder into a thick, macabre looking black biomass. Wielding the Hammerfist is unruly and slow, but it packs a mighty punch. Victims caught in this clobbering hammer are dealt moderate bludgeoning damage and knocked back up to ten feet from the force.

Consume: 0
No crime if there isn't a body right? After landing the final blow, Alex will reach out with twisted, brackish tentacles of biomass and pull his victim into himself, converting their biomass to his own. For now, this has no major benefits... old habits die hard, right?

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

  Dino' Huntin' and Brain Washin'
Posted by: Gaston - 11-10-2017, 10:59 PM - Forum: The Tangled Green - Replies (2)

Gaston escaped from Coruscant's service centre deep in the night. He had told his partner that he was just going to get groceries, and made his way to Tier One. From there, no one questioned him as he went on to the gate he had first come to the verse in. The Stormtroopers at the gate questioned him, asking for his identification, but he had claimed he was told to exit the verse for the advancement of his service. Perhaps they were tired, perhaps new to the job, or perhaps they just didn't care. But with some quick talking, he was able to escape. From there, he went into a gate, sufficiently far away from Coruscant, but close enough he could get there quickly.

When Gaston stepped into the gate, he was confronted with a deep green sea of grass. Looking around, he found himself in a clearing, though not far from his location was a deep forest. It appeared to be like a normal forest, filled with trees, but also littered with vines. Gaston gasped at the sight as he considered what was required. If he wanted to make any distance, he'd have to make his way through that: a deep forest. How could he make it through there with any speed? Suddenly, an idea sprung to his mind. Almost everything he had tried to summon with Omnilium had worked, as of now. So it would only make sense that he could summon a horse to help him traverse the deep forest. Standing still, the burly man closed his eyes, and began his craft of shaping the Omnilium. As he stood he visualised an Omnilium orb, glowing rainbow, appearing in his hand. He began pounding it with his fists, shaping it into first the legs of the horse and then forcing it up, spreading it out into a body. From there he slapped more of the glowing luminescent stuff onto the body, pushing it upwards into a crude head shape. There were many imperfections in the shape, but when he opened his eyes, there stood a perfectly formed horse, complete with a saddle.

"Are you a magician?" came a high-pitched voice, ruining Gaston's post-concentration daze.

Nearby, a small boy had watched Gaston in an odd mixture of awe and confusion. The strange man had made punching and pulling motions with his hands, seemingly to nothing, but then, suddenly, a horse had appeared in front of him. So it only made sense for him to ask how the man had done it.

"What? Magic is treachery and deception! I am a noble warrior, and I would never partake in such... tomfoolery!" Gaston waved his arms wildly as he spoke.

"Waah! You're gonna cast a spell on me!"

Gaston gritted his teeth in frustration. Was the child listening at all? The boy began to run, but Gaston leapt forward in front of him.

"You be quiet, boy! I told you, noble warriors like myself don't partake in magic!" The boy was beginning to annoy him. But as he spoke, an idea came to his mind. "Say, do you know your way around this area?"

"Um, I uh, know where some of the main cities are, I guess. Not much for civilisation around here, besides Ambrosia."

"What is this Ambrosia?"

"A city where tons of people are there, uh, the mayor, she's a prime-" Gaston cut him off.

"You said her-I believe you mean him, correct?"

"Uh, no, she's a chick. So, anyway, you should probably go there if you want a city."

"Unbelievable! Take me to a different city."

"Sorry to tell you, but there's not really any others."

"Shameful! Fine then, I'll go make my own camp! I don't need a city to survive!"

"Okay then. Sorry to tell you, but I'll just be going. Gotta get back to my house for supper, and all that."

Gaston nodded and began to let him go, but then stopped himself. How useful would a completely subservient, brainwashed companion be? This child was at an age where he could very easily be manipulated to serve Gaston's purposes.

"Say, how would you like to become my assistant?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you'd go with me on adventures! We'd fight off monsters and get treasure and attention! You just need to come with me, and we'll begin training!"

"Hm... Maybe I should talk to my mom about this?"

"Nonsense! I'm sure she'll understand! So, if you're coming, get on the horse!"

The boy considered for a moment. He wasn't completely sure that his mom would be fine with him going, but she had always taught him to take opportunities that rise. And this certainly seemed like an opportunity for adventure, experience, and money! He gleefully jumped onto the horse as Gaston began to move ahead, his horse clomping across the bare jungle floor. It had trouble making it over some vines, but as soon as they came across a road it was an easy traversal through the forest. The child looked around in awe at the trees they passed.

"Never been in a forest before?" Gaston asked him.

"No. I live in the West side of the verse, so I usually don't see trees like this. Even though they're a lot shorter, I like these trees better 'cuz they have cool leaves."

Gaston laughed. "How does one get so amazed by something so small," he muttered under his breath.

After a few hours, Gaston and the boy had come upon a cave, very large and very dark, straight to the side of the road. Gaston pulled the horse over to the field outside of the cave, and turned to the child.

"Now, listen to me, boy. There may be... unfavourable creatures, in that cave. Monsters that will attack us. So! Grab the sharpest stick you can find so that you can help fight!"

The boy looked distraught for a moment, but then started looking, determined.

"I was joking!" The boy turned around, and Gaston began summoning a weapon for him. It would be a double-sided axe, perfect for a beginner. At least, Gaston thought it would be. He wasn't exactly sure, but it seemed to make sense. As soon as the weapon was summoned, Gaston tossed it to the child. The boy barely caught it, but managed to, and then faced Gaston with a grin on his face.

"Let's go get 'em!"

Gaston crept into the cave, followed in toe by the child. He clutched his blunderbuss in hand, ready to shoot anything inside. And soon, they found the target. A bear slept in the middle of a large chamber. Gaston gestured for the child to run in, and he gleefully complied, slamming the ax down with a scream... and hitting the ground. The bear awoke with a roar, turning to the boy and baring his claws, as the child squealed. But Gaston took the opportunity, shooting the bear in the side. It turned to him, running, but the boy smacked it with the ax. It was not a very powerful swing, for sure, but it actually landed this time. Progress! Gaston again took advantage of its distraction, charging with his knife out. He tackled the bear with a strong leap, and dug into its side with his knife. The bear began to bite, but Gaston punched it in the snout, slamming its head on the ground.

"Yes! Dine upon feces, foul cretin!" he yelled, as he dealt the killing blow to its neck. "So child, that is how you kill a monster! Now, let's sleep! We have a long day ahead of us!"

Though the boy took a minute to recoil, Gaston wasted no time at all beginning a night of rest and dreaming, despite his very recent acts of destruction.

  Panty Writing Practice [M]
Posted by: Guu - 11-10-2017, 07:46 PM - Forum: The Creative Corner - No Replies

Quote:Practicing writing as my third character, Panty. I’m really close to unlocking her but I just had to get this out of my system.

Okay, I want to make this clear from the beginning. I’ve seen what other writers do, and I’m just going to say, I am NOT like them at all! I am not here to entertain you with the same shit they do. You won’t see words like “prologay” or “epiloog” or however those words are spelt. I just want to let you pissants know one thing:

I AM NOT HERE TO ENTERTAIN YOU!

If that bothers you, then blame Omni. I will get through my life how I want to and won’t be dragged down by the fucking bullshit that other writers do.

MY LIFE IS NOT A NARRARATAVE!

HOWEVER IT’S FUCKING SPELLED!

Now if your goal of reading my story is to get your rocks off, then get your pencil dicks out and get ready to fap away, we’re starting out the way i like it!

Our fucking story begins with me, in bed with another guy I met. I never got his name, nor do I remember what he looked like, but I remembered his uncut johnson quite vividly. I also remember how much of a needy fucker he was. One round he was already crying next to me.

Again, not here to tell a fucking story, so talking about feelings are out! But apparently, he wouldn’t shut up about some guy wanting to kill him. I mostly ignored him while trying to flush out the taste of pennies with a hotel mint, but something I said caught my attention.

“Thank you lady, I didn’t want to die a virgin.”

Well, that explains a fucking lot! I practically had to place landing lights on the goddamned bed just so he knew where to aim.

As for his imminent death, not my area anymore. After my fucking sister planted a sword in my goddamn skank of a face, I knew that my hero days were over. Go figured a goddamn child would free me from heavenly obligation, thanks to this prime thing, I can fuck all I want without consequence. No more scrounging for heaven coins! Fuck that shit. No more menial hero work!

“Sorry i’m complaining, you probably have better things to do than to pay attention to my suffering.” He said. He was giving me a puppy dog look.

Oh this fucker! I see what this is!

“Did you only take me to bed so I would get attached to you and agree to protect you?” I said.

“Yeah… I didn’t think it would work, the last three warriors didn’t go for it either.”

“Last three...” My eyes shot open, “How many women did you hook up with before you whored yourself to me?”

“Ummm… well, honestly, you’re the first female warrior I’ve found desperate for a shag...”

“Oh my fucking god, I don’t want to know!” I said as I leapt out of bed and reached for my clothes. “I don’t believe this, you’d rather fuck sweaty, hairy, fat, bar-dwelling adventurers before me? I was there all night!”

“I didn’t know you could fight...”

“Bullshit! I’ve been introducing myself as an angel! I even took out a drunkard early in the night!”

Suddenly, a man in ninja robes leapt through the window, and whipped out two scimitars. Me, in an instant, pulled out my fucking weapon and shot him between the eyes. The ninja fell to the ground lifeless.

The man I had been fucking looked ecstatic at this development.

“Oh thank you! I’ve been saved!”

“Well I haven’t!” I transformed backlace back into a pair of panties and slipped them on. I started putting the rest of my outfit back on.. “The Omniverse sucks, all I get is fucking table scraps!”

As I storm out the room, my head held high, I suddenly had a horrifying thought. I marched back into that room.

“Please tell me you were a bottom with all those guys tonight..” I said, as the taste of pennies still lingered in the back of my throat.

  Assimilation
Posted by: The Borg - 11-10-2017, 06:45 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (3)

Character Name: The Borg
Character Source: Star Trek OC

Character History: The Borg is/are a vast collection of cybernetic organisms linked together by a hive mind (called ‘The Collective’ or ‘the Hive’).  The individual entities are often called ‘drones.’  The Borg seek to assimilate alien cultures and technology into themselves for the purpose of moving closer to perfection.  The Borg has spent thousands of years on this slow march toward perfection, encountering and assimilating numerous species into its Collective.

There are no individuals within the Borg.  Even so, from time to time, the Borg is known to elevate one drone as a physical representative of the Collective.  Commonly called a ‘Borg Queen.’

One day, a Borg drone simply vanished from the Collective.  It had been pulled into the Omniverse, possibly because Omni mistook the one for the many (but who knows for sure).  When the drone arrived in the Omniverse, this single Borg became the many Borg.  A latent string of coding in its cybernetic body triggered, perceiving this change in environment as a near genocide of the Borg Collective.

But the genocide was left incomplete.  From this Borg, new Borg will flourish.

New variables will be analyzed and solved.  The playing field has changed, but the parameters remain the same.

Perfection.

Resistance is futile.

The Omniverse will be assimilated.

Physical Description: The drone brought to Omniverse, having become a new iteration of the Borg Queen, has altered its appearance in order to appear unimposing as it analyzes its new environs.  The Borg take the form of an unimposing man in his late 20s.  Nappy brown hair and blue-ish green eyes.  Scruffy facial hair and mute, non-aggressive clothes like the ones you’d buy at Target.  His skin is that of a pale Caucasian.  Black-framed glasses round out the look.  The Borg’s right eye is a prosthetic that appears, for all intents and purposes, like a normal eye.

The Borg stands 5’9” and weighs roughly 155 pounds.

  The King Arrives
Posted by: Meruem - 11-10-2017, 04:17 PM - Forum: The Nexus - No Replies

How very strange. How very unnatural.

I always knew what I was, even before I was born. King. The rightful ruler of all that stands below me. My birth merely confirmed it. I am stronger, faster, better, more intelligent, more fitting than any other living being.

That is simple fact. I am destined to rule.

Until one finds out that someone stands above you.

This Omni. I knew nothing of him until now, yet he has existed all along. So was I wrong?

“Hey. You there. Are you a new Prime?”

I look up. A white being. Not Omni. This one is taller, with black eyesockets and more of a ridged, chitinous exoskeleton. I suspect it is a human in armour.

Next to him stands another such being. “Careful, 34999.”

“I know.”

I find I am sitting, but I rise.

I …. what?

My body is … different! So much weaker! I feel as I did when that nuclear bomb went off. Unnaturally weak. Robbed of all but a fraction of my true strength.

I look up at the two white beings. “Where are my vassals?” A note of urgency passes into my voice. “Where is Menthuthuyoupi? Neferpitou? Shaiapouf?”

The second of the two, the calmer, raises his palms. “That’s okay, you’re confused. This is the Omniverse. You’re in the Nexus.”

I listen, even as I feel my stress level rising.

“We’re stormtroopers. We come from the Empire. Our home is Coruscant.”

He points far off, and my keen eyes spy an archway of shimmering steel. Human creation, or Omni’s? I have so many questions.

He leans forward. I can see that he’s scared, but trying to reach out to me. “You’re a Prime, right?”

Prime.

“What is that?” I ask.

“It means ‘someone who was summoned by Omni’. We,” he gestures to himself and the other white one, “Were summoned by Primes such as yourself. Some folks call us ‘secondaries’. We don’t have powers. Most of us … most of us are pretty normal. But Primes like you can’t die. And you can summon people, items … anything.”

My eyes widen. ‘Omni’ had mentioned these things, but only in vague terms. Summoning people? That means … Komugi can live again.

My heart races.

“So you,” I say flatly, “Wish to recruit me to your cause, yes?”

They balk momentarily. Then the speaker speaks: “We try to recruit Primes, yes.”

“That is only logical.” I touch a finger to my chin. “This world is very different to mine. There seem to be many new rules.” I look up. “Tell me, if I come to your ‘Coruscant’, am I obligated to join you?”

He shakes his head, and I can tell he’s pleased. “No, not unless you want to.”

Hm. “And there, can I freely obtain information?”

He nods energetically. “Yes. We have a library, the greatest in all the Omniverse! You’re free to peruse it. We’ll even give you a place to stay on Tier One. It’s the greatest place in Coruscant!”

He swallows. Something is making him nervous, and that’s plain. He’s afraid of me.

“… All that we ask is that you follow the rules. Violence is strictly prohibited. Theft, damage of property …”

He goes on to list a number of rules and I listen patiently. All of the rules seem perfectly reasonable. I would have decreed much the same. Though I’m surprised they allow such freedom. What does this ‘Coruscant’ look like?

When he seems finally done, he seems expectant. I am perplexed. Do Primes normally find these rules so difficult to follow?

I nod. “I understand your rules, and I agree to follow them for my duration in the city.”

The two stormtroopers look at each other, sharing something. I’ll admit, I’m not so taken with the idea of following the orders of lesser beings. But not all humans have proven to be savages, and whoever runs this city must be someone of reasonable power and intelligence. Perhaps this world is different.

“I have a question,” I ask.

“Fire away,” says the first stormtrooper, now seemingly less jumpy in my presence.

“Are you all … humans, in this city?”

“Yes, mostly. But we’re from a world where many races share the same planets.” He pauses. “What is it like in your world?”

I think back.

When I arrived in that world, I was different. Young. I did not shy from violence.

The King tears his way free of his mother’s womb. The Queen lie bleeding, and one retainer rushes forward to treat her injuries.

This retainer does not see the King. This retainer not prostrate himself.

His head vanishes.

“Do not make me repeat myself,” says the young King. “Bring me food.”

So imperious was I that I let my mother die without even learning the name she had given me.

That only came later.

With his three vassals, the King moves East, to the republic of East Gorteau.

Along the way he feeds and discovers his power. He feeds on the nen of others. Rare humans, those with great power, fill him with especial power and taste the best.

I took their country … I dethroned their despot ruler.

I was still so young …. I knew so little.

That’s when I met … her.

In boredom, the King has begun to learn various games. He reads, learns their rules, and then proceeds to play the world champions of each board game.

None of them offer any challenge. Some of them try to run. They don’t make it far.

Then arrives a young woman. Blind and feeble, a snotty nose. A pathetic sight, but the greatest Gungi player in the world. And she beats the King.

Time and time again, she beats the King.

And he finds it …

Invigorating.

My vassals were all wrapped up in the final preparations for processing the country’s denizens, bringing them to me to eat. That was my purpose. To be the King. To rule.

And yet, all I cared about was a game. Because every minute I spent playing, I could feel my mind expanding. New concepts …. new potential strategies. I was compelled. I dove willingly into the depths of the game and found my hunger for greater depth growing in tandem with my mind.

Shaiapouf feared it.

The first day I felt fear was when all the people of East Gorteau had been assembled to be processed. That is the day when the humans struck back. They bombarded the palace with lances of nen from the sky, not knowing that other humans in the firing line.

The King finds Komugi bleeding out and orders his vassal, Neferpitou, to save her. She will live.

He understands now. He cares for her.

But even though they had struck against me, I found it in myself to be the better leader.

I went to parley … with that man.

Netero, chairman of the Hunter association, challenges the King to fight.

The King refuses. He offers to talk. To make peace between their two races.

The chairman Netero hesitates. Then he tells the King of his mother’s fate. That she died … and told the doctors the name she’d decided for her son. The King’s name.

Netero knew it. And he would tell the King, if only he could beat him.

I was blinded by hunger. By the game. It was just like fighting Komugi in Gungi. It was exhilarating.

I executed my strategy flawlessly. Unlike Gungi, the sides were not equal. While he was a truly exceptional human, the most powerful and the greatest fighter I have ever met, I was objectively his superior.

But he had not expected to win. I could not fathom his logic. I did not understand my enemy.

The Chairman, Netero, his right arm and leg gone. His vital energy, nen, spent entirely on his final attempt to win the fight …

He has accepted his death. He smiles and speaks the King’s name.

Then he plunges his fingers into his own heart.

Within his chest explodes an atomic bomb.

Even the atomic bomb didn’t kill me. But I only barely clung to life.

Shaiapouf and Youpi … they found me. Fed me most of their own bodies. They were … exquisite. Filled with the greatest energy I had ever tasted.

But the bomb had infected me with a sickness that nothing could purge. It spread from me … first to my vassals. And then to her.

The King sits, playing Gungi with Komugi. The radiation sickness that grips him is contagious. But still she sits with him, even after his retainers have passed from it. They play.

“Komugi …” he says. “It appears I never defeated you a single time.”

“What are you saying? We’ve just gotten started!”

“Yes …”

They play.

But the King is tired.

“I need to take a short nap,” he says. “Will you hold my hand?”

“I understand,” she says.

They sit in the silence.

“Komugi,” he asks. “Will you call me by my name, one last time?”

“Good night,” she says.

“Meruem.”

All these memories are difficult to recall. It feels like it was all a long time ago, somehow.

Perhaps this is all a dream. Perhaps this is the afterlife.

The stormtrooper clears his throat. “Well … well then, would you like to come with us?” He motions to his vehicle, a small bike.

I realise I have been standing still and silent for a long while. “Yes,” I say finally. “But I think … I think I would like to walk.”

The troopers share a look. “As you wish,” says the speaker.

His voice sounds a bit like Netero’s. My tail coils. But his body language is totally different. He wears a helmet, but the fear is written on him like plain ink. He is common.

We walk, and I think.

CHARACTER NAME:
Haseo
CHARACTER SOURCE:
Dot Hack Anime
CHARACTER HISTORY:
Ryou Misaki otherwise known as Haseo is a sophomore in a private high school. Living in alone tokyo he took up the game 'The World' after talking to a friend about it. Haseo was once the player 'Sora' in the previous version of the game. Though he has no memory of it due to Skeith's data drain. Ever since making the character Haseo his old character data wandered as an AI which had reunited with Haseo as Skeith.

When first entering 'The World' He was taught how to play the it but at the same time betrayed by the people whole taught him and almost ended up being pked. Had it not been a young girl character named Shino who stepped in to help and gave words of encouragement and a older man named Ovan who pkked the pkers, Haseo started to see a reason to play.

He was part of a small group called 'The Twilight Brigade' which disbanded not long after Ovan left the group.

Haseo went through many changes searching for his former comrades though when his love interest Shino got pked by a mysterious player named 'Tri-Edge' the player playing Shino fell into a coma. Haseo needed revenge and to do that he needed to defeat this 'Tri-Edge' to wake shino from her coma.

He hunted for many months asking pkers 'Do you know of Tri-Edge?' All to get little to no real information until 1 month later out of nowhere Ovan showed himself and told Haseo that 'Tri-Edge' would return today to the scene of the crime.

The losing battle of Haseo versus Azure Kite ended with Haseo getting data drained by accident as the intended blow was meant for Ovan who was standing behind Haseo. Haseo who was to focused on him had no idea of Ovan being there and ultimately was reduced back to level 1.

After much help with his new friends Silabus and Gaspard Haseo got back his 3rd form and Skeith powered up with him. Haseo is also part of a secret organization that helps debug the game even though AIDA is technically not really a bug. The avatars are their weapons and through them they gain unfathomable power but at the risk of losing their life.

In his earlier years in search for Tri-Edge he was a famous PKKer known as 'The Terror of Death' though he has disregarded that name he is still a force to be reckoned with.

After tracking down the real Tri-Edge he found Ovan who revealed himself as such.

Clearly outmatched his character data was almost destroyed but thanks to his avatar and zelkova he gained a new form and skeith powered up to its final form.

Cubia who had been unleashed onto 'The_World' for a second time was defeated by Haseo and his avatar Skeith and peace was restored to both offline and online worlds.
