  Prototype 2: Alternate EVERYTHING
Posted by: Alex Mercer - 11-23-2017, 05:20 AM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (6)

Alright, so anyone here like Prototype 2? Me too! Gosh these fight mechanics are so smooth and... HEY! Mercer's back! C'mere buddy, lets... wait... what? Evil? NO! Not evil! Why!

*Reads into the lore.*

That's... that's ... so fucking lame... One girl? It took one girl to sway your vote? Common dude, I know heartbreak hurts but jeeze...

SO... I want to do a fanfiction to show how I think it should have gone! I think I'll do it in the Astral Verse and have Mercer slowly remember it. Time between taking a damn nuke to the brain and his arrival in the Omniverse having sort of "Reset the ol' ticker" much like the precurser to Prototype (the original) did.

Don't get me wrong, Mercer is not going to be some Supercancer (superman but with cancer powers,) he'll still be somewhat the anti-hero he was for Prototype (where he saved Manhattan then left it to heal after Elizabeth Green (the bitch that actively spread the virus, while Mercer more killed infected and ate them.)

This time though, I'm thinking about painting him as the Anti-Villain who seeks to bring Humans up to the next stage, with the goal of turning everyone into "Evolved," perhaps sans the weaponry... or maybe very moderate versions...

I plan for him to go back to studying the original Blacklight, reconnect to the old Alex Mercer's work and figure out what made him, what this retrovirus' true potential was and, by extension, what he could do to improve the new wave of dominant species on the planet.

He will use morally gray means to infect people "for their benefit." One such person uncovers Mercer's intent and being part of the original Manhattan massacre blames him for all the carnage and seeks to end him. Sound familiar? This is how it could have been... Instead of trying to end the world, Mercer HAS THE POWER to make it better...

What's even more delicious is Mercer gives up consuming humans and has even learned to seperate minds and "regurgitate" them by sacrificing biomass. So he's effectively given up his own power, while this Anti-Hero James Heller is consuming and growing more powerful...

It shifts balance from Heller vs Mercer, Good vs. Evil, to a balance of perspective. Mercer is a good guy doing things in a shady way - and Heller is also a good guy doing things in a shady way. Heller sees Mercer as trying to end the current way of life, and Mercer sees Heller as, essentially, himself not too long ago...

Can you TASTE This juicy plot or what? Am I just too excited about the Anti-Hero Vs. Anti-Villain, or does this actually sound like how P2 should have been? I'd love to hear your thoughts or maybe get a few ideas!

Drossel von Flugel
[Image: DrCEKSy.png]

CHARACTER SOURCE: Fireball

CHARACTER HISTORY: Drossel is the 'daughter' of the late and most definitely great Windstile von Flugel. Living in a world where robots and humans are constantly at war, Drossel has been confined to her father's country-sized hyper advanced mansion to learn the structure of the world before she can attempt to reunite humanity and inorganics. Sadly, she never got a chance to do so before she was whisked away to the Omniverse, which she believes is simply the world outside her mansion. For now, she'll attempt to discover the "Charming Humanity" her father was always rambling about in his books.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Drossel is a pure white robot with black joints and a cyan powercore, humanoid but unmistakably robotic as well. She has a streamlined design overall, rounded limbs and thick cylindrical legs that taper off into flat circles as opposed to any kind of foot. Her head is rounded with a double-jointed headpiece at the back mirroring a large ponytail, and she has large cyan eyes but otherwise is featureless facially. Her only article of clothing is her father's favorite crimson cloak, which is almost constantly generating dust somehow.

STATS:
ATK:1
DEF:2
SPD:3
TEC:4

STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Physical Strength – 1000 OM

STARTING POWERS:
Master Acrobat - 400 OM
Hivemind - 400 OM
Survival - 2000 OM

STARTING MOVES:
Capo-rate Kick (Requires Physical Strength, Master Acrobat) - 300 OM
An attack born out of Drossel's inability to discern the different kinds of martial arts, she simply decides to mix them all up. Drossel avoids an attack, be it ranged or melee with a Capoeira style flip to the side or backwards, putting her into a handstand. While positioned like this, she performs a side snap kick from Karate, where one leg is placed behind the other's knee, then it 'snaps' outwards and kicks up, or down in this case. This gravity aided kick is decently powerful and fast, but performing it before an enemy strikes leaves her wide open, easy to hit and knock down.

Astrology Unit "Ra" (Requires Physical Strength, Master Acrobat) - 300 OM
Drossel dons her Ra model add-ons, a mask and a staff. The mask is a beautifully carved ceramic beak-shaped mask, with cyan accents and 6 feathers on the back. The staff is a polished 6ft. copper staff, ending in a silver chakram circle with many viewing glasses inside. While wielding these Drossel adopts a more defensive fighting style, like Bojutsu. The staff restricts her movements somewhat, but the range afforded by the staff makes her much more effective at one-on-many combat.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

CHARACTER NAME: Pennywise the Dancing Clown (It)

CHARACTER SOURCE: Stephen King’s It. Borrowing from the novel and the 2017 movie.

CHARACTER HISTORY: It came into being while in an empty space surrounding the furthest reaches of the universe. This void was called the Macroverse. It’s true form was that of a mass of glowing, pulsating orange energy, or "deadlights". It was an abstract and immaterial being drifting through the ether of outer space— a force that was driven to consume. For millennia It fought against the forces of conception, viewing the Guardian of creation, Maturin the great cosmic turtle and feasibly It’s “brother”, as endlessly lesser and stupid.

At some point, It was spat out from the Macroverse and landed in what would one day become the town of Derry, Maine, causing natural disasters from It’s earth-shattering impact. After sensing the incoming occurrence of humans in the area, It fell into a pattern of hibernation and lived underground, awaking in cycles every twenty-seven years to feed on the fearful denizens of the area. The physical form It assumed was usually that of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, designed to both lure in and frighten its preferred prey: children.

Every time It awoke, vicious massacres, suicides, and mass deaths would occur, and as It went back underground something of similar brutality would lull it to sleep. For many years It’s influence darkened the streets of Derry, the unsolved disappearances of children and a general sense of being played with haunting the people in their everyday lives. Everything changed, however, once a group of children known as the Losers Club became aware of It’s sinister power.

Following the first Ritual of Chüd, a physic, metaphysical clash used by the Losers Club to defeat It in the year 1958, It was sent to what the children assumed to be a permanent doom. This was not the case, as It would soon awaken someplace else entirely, with a brand new food source to seek out and exploit... Omnilium.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

https://pre00.deviantart.net/d5fa/th/pre...bocjyb.jpg

Upon entering the Omniverse, It was trapped in one of It’s most favored of physical forms: Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Pennywise is a silly-looking figure that stands at about 7'7", with long, spidery limbs, chalky white skin, and bright red tufts of hair sticking up around the top of It’s head. It’s eyes are yellowish-silver and cat-like, though they sometimes turn sky blue to lure in unwitting prey; they are prone to drift out of alignment when focusing on multiple things at once or when confused.

This creature also has on clown makeup, cherry red paint covering the mouth, dabbing over the nose, and streaking over It’s eyes in spikes. The clothing It wears appears almost antiquated, silvery-blue with funny ruffles around the wrists, knees, and neck. There are silver bells attached at the sleeves, jingling merrily. It has puffy sleeves akin to a Victorian doll, colorful clown shoes, and orange pom-poms in place of buttons.

STATS:
ATK: 3
DEF: 1
SPD: 3
TEC: 3

STARTING PROFICIENCIES: Physical Strength (1000)

STARTING POWERS: Master Acrobat (400), Shapeshifting (1400), Malleability (1000)

STARTING MOVES:

Vortex of Teeth (requires Physical Strength, Shapeshifting, Malleability) – 300 OM

It is able to unhinge It’s jaw not unlike a snake in a second’s time, revealing the frightening number of bone-breaking teeth hidden behind that friendly grin. It has strong lip and jaw muscles, allowing for It’s maw to open wide (roughly wide enough to consume a baby antelope whole) and bite down with a strong bite force. These teeth erupt from the beast’s gums as it swoops in to take a mouthful out of an opponent, resulting in the upper portion of It’s face tilting backward at an ungodly, horrifically-stretched angle and causing the eyes to roll back in It’s skull. This awkward position leaves It’s front side and neck area vulnerable to attack. It takes a small amount of effort to do this, but It can only maintain the gaping maw look for a short amount of time (no longer than a minute) regardless.

Claws (requires Physical Strength, Shapeshifting) – 300 OM

Despite the goofy Mickey Mouse gloves covering the hands of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, It is able to instantly sprout wickedly sharp five-inch claws that are greyish-white in color. The claws are curved, allowing for It to latch onto prey more easily as they attempt to flee. While the claws make it a bit awkward for Pennywise to scamper after a prospective kill on all fours, they ultimately do not hamper It too much. The claws take a small amount of effort to manifest and can remain indefinitely, but they are physically taxing on It and slow It's speed. They can do medium to heavy damage dependent on a target's DEF stat.

Puppet Without Strings (requires Malleability, Master Acrobat) – 300 OM

Like any successful carnivorous species, It has a collapsible bone structure designed for efficient locomotion and flexibility for turning during high-speed chases. In combat, this allows for It to turn on the spot to attack an opponent standing behind It, twisting It’s bones in a series of sickening pops to look an attacker in the eye. It also lets the clown tuck itself into very tight spaces, squeezing through like a mouse might squish itself to fit under a door.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yep!

Where did you find us? Bruh.

"I will vouch for you."

Specialist Daniels was the average kind of person, wearing the same ragged looking fighting clothes as all the other rebels do

"A few people see you as a hero, most see you as some guy who ditched us after the big fight"

The two figures walked down the once clean and neatly kept halls of the City 24 administration building, now grimy and fairly littered, Daniels opened a door into a large open room, scraps of clothes and trash piled in the farthest corners with mattresses and sleeping bags strewn about though there were some people sleeping and apparently injured.

"This is it?"

Cobalt turned to look at Daniels, his voice sounding grim through his vocoder

"Yeah... You can stay the night, but a quick poll showed no one wants you here, we'll give you some supply but you have to be gone tomorrow."

Daniels somewhat ushered Cobalt into the room before closing the door and walking back down the hall. Cobalt stepped into the room, it was dirty, and hadn't been washed since the rebels took the city from the union. The floors were wood tile, though it was hard to tell through the clothes and sleeping bags, the walls were white wallpaper with simple designs varying from a lighter gray, and it was covered in a layer of grime. He stepped cautiously as if he were sneaking into something until a hand shot out from the corner next to the door to grasp Cobalt's armored leg, a man lay on a mattress elevated by a few stacks of books and cardboard boxes, the man looked sick, his grayish looking skin and watery green eyes didn't help his case, he looked up to Cobalt, whimpering quietly before speaking up in a weak voice

"Are you here to help us?"

These words echoed in Cobalt's mind for hours, he had never seen such an ill fate, it was almost traumatic as if it were one of his most trusted brothers on his deathbed, the words scarred him to the point where he still remembered the exact moment when he woke up in the black.

Words fell on deaf ears. The Nexus didn't bother Cobalt, and he wasn't going to be arrogant enough to pretend to understand it's reason for bringing him here, or knowing what he was going to do next, his gaze fell to the white figure that had been speaking for the past few moments, he reached out and took the orb the figure was handing him and looked at it in a dull curiosity. He looked back to the figure which was still speaking, though it was only a buzz in the back of Cobalt's head, he didn't worry, he knew it would come back to him, and if it didn't, oh well. The only thing Cobalt actually heard from the figure was

Quote:"...You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

[Image: 3499E11A46513A0B87D61CDE69CE805E6C772EAD]

The black was replaced with white, and the trickling of a large stone fountain, the buzzing in Cobalt's head stopped suddenly, he drew his carbine with his right hand, pointing it at the floor as he drew his knife with his left hand, detecting hostility for no apparent reason, he'd stare at the fountain for what felt like eons but was only a minute, he sighed deeply, coughing loudly in the echoing emptiness of the Nexus, he glanced around, noting the doors and the distance that lay between them whispering ever so quietly to himself

"This is where they went?"

obviously this meant nothing to anyone else, and it didn't mean anything to him. He stumbled groggily, sheathing his knife and raising a hand up to his mask, rubbing it as if he were rubbing his face after a hangover, he'd keep his blaster handy as he took a step, stumbling slightly while looking at the floor. His heart skipped a beat as he felt as if he were going to fall through the ground, suddenly realising that this white expanse had solid flooring, he started walking in a nondescript direction, grumbling quietly as though this entire situation inconvenienced him.
