  switching to Leonardo Watch
Posted by: Leonardo Watch - 11-27-2017, 02:17 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (3)

CHARACTER NAME: Leonardo Watch

CHARACTER SOURCE: Kekkai Sensen

CHARACTER HISTORY: Taken sometime after Seasson 1, but before Seasson 2

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

STATS:
ATK: 1
DEF: 2
SPD: 2
TEC: 5

STARTING PROFICIENCIES: Ranged proficiency (1000)

STARTING POWERS: Enchanced Senses - Basic (1400), Telepathy (1500)

STARTING MOVES:

The All-Seeing Eyes of God – fodder – Enchanced Senses

Leo's special power, granted by a godlike being for purposes unknown to him. With his eyes, he can see through matter, detect illusions, see the invisible, follow movements too fast for normal eyes, see other people's aura, detect micro details on stuff (like textures), etc. His vision it's weaker than how he remembers it though, but still useful nonetheless.

Shared vision – fodder – Ranged proficiency, Enchanced Senses, Telepathy

Leo can share what he sees, allow others to see as if they had his enchanced vision, or see through someone else's eyes. The target must be 100% willingly to let Leo do it for this to work, as well as not be involved in any stressful situation (fighting, chasing, escaping, etc).

Hyper focus – 600 – Ranged proficiency, Enchanced Senses, Telepathy

By concentrating for 1 second, Leo can overclock his eyes, allowing him to gain full vision over the range his Enchanced Senses work over. Instead of only seeing perfectly at point blank, the "clarity zone" extends to his whole range of vision.
Any fast movement will break the effect, be it turning his head too fast, a sudden noise that involuntarly shifts his eyes, running, etc. He can walk and turn his head or eyes normally, but he needs to be careful to not overdo it. Breaking his concentration will stop the effect too.
He can safely maintain it up to 15 seconds. Beyond that, keeping at it will start provoking headaches and dizziness, which intensify the longer he uses it, with an absolute maximum of 30s. More than that will hurt him, and he won't be able to use any of his other powers until he rests.

This move has an offensive use, in which, after the inicial 1s of concentration, Leo surprises others by making them see what he does. Because of the intense stress of the overclocking, making someone process what Leo does can cause inmediate pain and damage. It doesn't hurt much, but the intense and sudden shift in vision can disorient anyone.
Leo only keeps the effect for half a second: more than that and the target would start getting used to it, losing the surprise factor and, thus, the intended effect.
Leo can target anyone on his field of view, including multiple people, as long as they have eyes (or the equivalent). The exact limit as to how many he can affect at the same time is fuzzy, but the more targets, the more energy he needs to perform the move. At peak stamina, 10 targets is when it starts tiring him after using it once. For the purposes of this move, Leo can't activate the self-buff version and use what he sees in that mode to target and attack someone. It's one effect or the other, not both.
As any telepathic move, the effect will depend on the difference between Leo's TEC stat and his target/s: having full effect on a target with lower TEC than Leo's, dimished effect on equal TEC, and little to no effect over one TEC point onwards. How much it'll hurt is a matter of Leo's AKT vs his target/s' DEF.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. of course. And if i accidentally break anything, let me know and i'll do my best to fix it/not do it again in the future

Where did you find us? I Was Already Here, but before that: Google

TOTAL OM SPENT: 4500

Shared vision CAN buff others by allowing them to use Leo's Enchanced senses, so i restricted it to non-fighting situations becasue i don't want to buy the buffing proficiency (yet). If this proves to be a problem, i'll take away the "sharing enchanced senses" and leave only the sharing vision thing, and properly upgrade it once i buy the needed stuff.

And yes, i'm aware that Leo is a non-fighting character, but that's kind of the point: he already comes from a world where superhumans, kaiju, and terrorist attacks are a normal occurence. It'll be fun to see him deal with the Omniverse's crazyness without his superpowered friends to save his ass. There's too little of Leo being badass on his own in canon, so i want to explore that

Lastly, is it too much to ask to have my name changed to Leonardo Watch? Or else i'll just ask on the proper place after i get him aproved tho, so no worries

Posted by: Erik Vrell - 11-27-2017, 07:39 AM - Forum: The Frozen Fields - Replies (5)

Erik passed through the gate into the frozen fields. It was the first time he had been to the fields, and as he breathed in the cold air he knew he had come to the right place. He missed his mountain home dearly, and the tundra was the next best thing. The sky was hidden behind dark clouds, and snow drifted lightly to the ground in a light blanket. The horizon was also clouded by a thin mist, obscuring he horizon. Erik urged his horse forward excitedly, which responded apprehensively. It was obviously not as attuned to the cold as Erik himself was.

As the horse trotted forward, Erik wondered how to get to Dwarfholm. Although it was one of the major cities in the region, it wasn't exactly announcing its presence. Erik decided that finding one of the smaller dwarf villages and going from there would be more reliable than blindly searching for the capital. His horse reluctantly sped up at Erik's urging, not pleased by the chill. After traveling for some time, Erik saw a small group of lights in the distant fog. He approached them slowly, not wanting to startle the source. A small group of short humanoids came into view. 'Dwarves!' Erik thought to himself, a small smile unconsciously crossing his face.

The foremost dwarf signalled for the others to stop, and called to Erik. "Who goes there?" Despite his size, his voice was quite deep, with a noticeable accent. There were five dwarves in all, each of which wore a heavy coat to keep the snow off and had their long beards tied in a tight knot. They also had various weapons strapped to their belts, ranging from swords to axes to a crossbow on one dwarf's back. Two dwarves had deer held over their shoulders, obviously killed on a recent hunt. "Greetings." Erik called back. "My name is Erik Vrell. I'm looking for directions to Dwarfholm." The leader eyed him suspiciously. "Forgive me, but what business do you have with Dwarfholm?"

Erik paused for a moment, considering his wording. "I admire the dwarves skills in smithing and fighting, and their love for drink." Erik said. "I was hoping to become a dwarf friend and gain entrance to their halls." The lead dwarf inspected him for a few tense moments, before nodding, apparently satisfied with that answer. "Forgive me, Erik, was it? We can't be too careful with those darkling folk around. They don't hide their love for Nebula, though, so I trust you. My name is Davras, and I'm the leader of this hunting expedition."

Erik dismounted his horse, and reached out to shake the dwarf's hand. "Pleased to meet you, Davras." Erik said, suppressing a grin. He had heard stories of dwarves even before coming to the Omniverse, but this was his first encounter with one. Davras motioned for Erik to keep moving. "Come on then, we'll take you to Dwarfholm where you can meet someone who'll tell you what to do. We have to get moving before it gets dark, though." Erik looked at the dwarf with a puzzled expression. "Is Dwarfholm that far away? It looks like it's still bright out through the clouds." Davras chuckled, as if a child had just asked him a question with a painfully obvious answer. "Oh ho, lad, you haven't been to the fields before my have ya?" Erik shook his head, feeling as if he was missing something. "It can turn from day to dark in a matter of minutes. We're running out of daylight quick, too, so if we're not hasty you'll get to see it yourself."

Concerned, Erik simply nodded and moved to follow the dwarf's lead, leading his horse by the reigns rather than riding the already unhappy animal. The hunting party set off at a steady pace, easily moving at the same pace as Erik, despite being almost half his size. The dwarves behind Erik talked amongst themselves occasionally, but mostly kept to themselves. "So, Erik." Davras began, breaking the silence. "You said you admire our skills in smithing?" Erik nodded vigorously. "I hear dwarves works are the best in the world." The dwarf laughed at the comment. "Well, whoever told you is right. This may sound facetious, but you really won't find much better craft. So, do you have experience in smithing?"

Erik nodded again, and drew Mageslayer partially from its sheath. "I made this blade myself on my 18th birthday. It took me some time to learn, but I got it right eventually." Davras eyed the blade curiously for a moment. "Hmm. May I?" The dwarf said as he extended his arms, motioning for Erik to give him the sword if he wished. Erik obliged, and handed the blade to the dwarf. Davras hummed as he peered at the blade and turned it over in his hands. "For a human such as yourself, this is fine craftsmanship." He said finally, handing the sword back to Erik. "It's not perfect, though. There's always room to improve." Erik nodded silently, not sure whether he was pleased or upset with the analysis.

The remainder of the journey continued quietly, before they came to a gate built into a large cave opening, which was guarded by a pair of dwarves clad in full armour. "Who goes there?" One of the guards cried. "Davras, son of Darvok. We have returned from our hunt with a guest." The guards eyed Erik with the same suspicion Davras first had, but nodded and let them pass. As the doors opened and Erik stepped inside, he was struck by the temperature difference of the cavern. It was warm inside, almost hot. Erik was escorted by the hunting party through the tunnel, until it opened into a larger area where dwarves of all kinds went about their duties. Buildings populated this area, forming a whole city in the cavern.

In the centre of the cavern lay a vast, shining building. "What is that?" Erik asked breathlessly. "Mithril hall." Davras replied. "She's beautiful, isn't she?" Erik nodded in wonder, moving to follow the dwarf before being stopped. "This is where we part ways for now." Davras said. "Wait here, I'll arrange for someone to come guide you." Erik nodded once more, a little sad that his new friend was leaving so soon. "Good luck, lad." Davras said with a grin as he left.

Erik waited in the busy square for a while before a spectacled dwarf approached him. "Are you Erik?" He asked. "Indeed I am." The psychic replied, having gotten over his awe at the magnitude of the city. "Please, follow me." The dwarf said. "I work for the Mithril hall, and it's my job to set the conditions of your entry." The dwarf led Erik through the city to a building near Mithril hall. "Watch your head." The dwarf said as he unlocked the door and entered, followed by a slightly stooped over Erik. Fortunately, the room seemed to be designed for bigger folk so he didn't have to duck his heas to avoid hitting the roof.

"Now, for you to prove your dedication to the Mithril hall I'm going to have to ask you to do some... small jobs. The first job is to go into the mines and extract some cobalt. Our supplies are running low, and we're having to dig deeper and deeper to find it so an extra hand is always appreciated." Erik nodded. "Sounds simple enough. Is there anything else I need to know?" The dwarf considered the question for a moment. "Well... When you get about one hundred metres into the mines, you'll come to a fork. You may have more luck finding cobalt on the left fork, because it's been mined less." Erik nodded enthusiastically, and left the building without considering why it had been mined less.

Jakob, Angel, and The Centurion checked out cleanly with the stormtroopers at the gates. Jakob did his best to warn the two about the effects the gate had on you, but it was all for naught as he could not actually put the words together in his drugged mind. They didn't seem too illed by the transportation either.

On the other side of the gate was Tier One of Coruscant. The Empire's influence was strongest here, and the mass of secondaries was active. They could hear voices chatting up, a million of them turning into white noise - if you didn’t listen to any of them. There was plenty of other noises. Hissing steam from far away pipes. Elevator type music drifting out of public speakers. The whipping of vehicles through the air in various directions.

Behind them they could hear the broken chit-chat over walkies and comms.

Jakob was not paying attention to any of it, he was simply navigating through the sea of people. Of course, he was used to all of this by now. He has always been used to this noise and the people. Russia had not been a powerful force in his futuristic universe because it was small, it did not lack people for its armies and its work force. It was packed to the gills with humans, orcs, elves, and dwarves alike. This was more than that had been, but it was just noise and body heat.

“Wait,” Angel said, grabbing at the air between her and Jakob. “Jakob, take my hand.” She requested, even though the memory of their make out was still fresh in her mind - even if it brought a warmth to her cheeks… “That way we don’t get separated... “ She quickly gave reason to her request.

“Okay.” Jakob accepted, lifting his robotic hand for her to grab.

Angel hesitated, despite it being her idea, but took it gently. She watched as he curled the cold fingers around her hand gently, knowing full well that it was capable of crushing her fingers if he wanted to. She gulped but trusted him.

She then reached over for Cade to take her other hand. He also hesitated, if only because he was not used to ideas like this. But he also took the hand. Angel noted there were at least twenty things different between the two hands but said nothing. Just offered Jakob a smile and a short nod to express she was ready.

Jakob turned away and began to lead the daisy-chain of people through the milling crowd. His steps were slow but precise. He tugged gently as he walked, but absently. Slowly they made their way towards the opposite gate for Vasty Deep. It would have never occurred to his drugged mind that there was an easier way to do this. Several easier ways. They could have taken a cab, they could have walked ten feet the other way in the Nexus. All of this knowledge lost to his numbed cells.

He carried them through the secondaries, pushing his way through without stepping on toes or even a single elbow to the face. Then again, Jakob had two modes. Savage, and dumb.

The Russian male moved through two people gently, and in response to this, the two figures asserted dominance by crushing the human’s arm between their large masses. This did nothing to Jakob, but it made Angel cry out and pull her hand back from the closing mountains. They, twins apparently, glare in her direction. On the verge of tears, she pulled back.

Cade slid around her and puffed out his chest, ready to take them on but not ready to start trouble. Gurgle sounds could be heard from them, but then they slithered away. “That was close.” He said, turning to Angel who was guarding her hand as if it was harmed. Unable to help himself, Cade took her hand and inspected it while he questioned her. “Did they hurt you?”

Angel whimpered, but the only harm that had been done was the powerful flick of Jakob’s mechanical hand. It left a small but impressively deep bruise on the back. “No.. I’m fine.” She said, truthfully it wasn’t that big of a deal.

“It looks nasty... But I don’t think anything is broken.” He said, his fingers being tender as they prodded at the bone underneath. When she winced and jerked back, he stopped but offered her his best smile. “Sorry.”

Angel felt the heat return to her face as she stared at his attractive face... Why were heroes always so good looking? Was that a standard they had to meet? A requirement? She had to calm herself. “It’s okay. I know you wouldn’t hurt me.” She said, unintentionally a bit dreamily.

He chuckled, “That I would not.” He assured her. “Now.” He said, standing taller and looking back for Jakob. “Let us… Get… Back to..?” His words trailed off as he found no sign of their guide. “Jakob?” He called out.

They looked left, right, and everywhere between but found no sign of the red-armed Russian. “Jakob!” Angel cried out, lifting her bruised hand to cup around her mouth in hopes of amplifying her voice. “JAKOB!?”

But no matter how many times his name was called out he did not return.

Cade and Angel continued in the direction that they were headed, hoping to catch up with the man. They called and called as if looking for their lost dog. Man, woman, and whatever other gender that was present looked at them with mild disdain as they continued on with their racket. “Jakob! Buddy?” Cade tried again.

Angel narrowly missed a lifted crate with her head, the two holding it lifting it higher as she twists. She gives them a nervous look but manages a thank you and a sorry before turning back around to continue their hunt. “Jakob!?” She called him once more. She turned the other way. “Ja-!!” She stopped dead in her tracks as they saw a similar gate from the one they entered. Its swirling magic teasing them to enter. There was a sign close by: Costa Del Sol. That was the beachiest name if she’s ever heard of one. But… While they found their destination, they did not find their Jakob. “Cade?” She called out

  Nothing Full Of Something [Open]

It was all very much like a dream, and for a while Stu believed it was. After falling asleep in his regular bed on a regular night after a regular day, he seemed to wake up in a completely empty void, as if he was nowhere. The only light in the whole expanse was from the figure whose bright white presence chilled Stu, and though he tried to speak, fell speechless.

The very next thing he knew, Stu was standing just by a fountain in another great expanse of nothing. Only this nothing, was full of something. Various creatures of various species wandered around this white place, walking on seemingly no surface. The ground was as solid as it could be, yet had no texture underfoot, and no visible difference between the empty space around him. Stu was in utter shock and great fear, beginning to aimlessly stagger round this place, still at a loss for words. Naturally with his education on Ardnaria, the Planet of Knowledge, Stu no longer feared, or even minded, most of the creatures that went about their various businesses, although this place seemed totally unknown to him.

Too frightened of his surroundings to ask anybody for help, Stu continued to meander through the white void, still in awe and confusion of exactly where he was, and occasionally rubbed his eyes to be sure that he wasn’t seeing things.

Donated 10.00 to the site, so I can swap early if allowed.

Starting OM: 9647
Spent OM:

CHARACTER NAME:  Officially he has no name, but he has adopted the name "Dupe"

[Image: Royal-Tutor-Anime-Character-Visual-Bruno...161217.jpg]

CHARACTER SOURCE:  OC (But ties to a lot of fandoms)

CHARACTER HISTORY:   Dupe was made in a lab as an attempt to create an individual who could be the perfect clone of people, one who could mimic and download not only the skills and abilities possessed by the individuals, but their personalities. However, there was one flaw that the scientists who made the experiment overlooked. The  downside to him was that the personalities would still have their own desires, and wills although they were unaware of that at the time.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

STATS:
ATK:2
DEF: 2
SPD: 3
TEC: 3

STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Physical Strength - 1000
Debuff Proficiency - 1000
Ranged Proficiency - 1000
Homing Proficiency - 600
Ranged Materialize Proficiency - 600
Area Attack Proficiency - 600
Area Defense Proficiency  - 400
Remote Control Proficiency - 600

STARTING POWERS:

Insight - 1500  OM
Master Acrobat - 400 OM

STARTING MOVES:

Smart Phone - Video Replay: Barrier MK I (Area Defense, 300.)

One of the moves that uses his smart phone, or his tablet. This allows him to replay a video that involves a hero creating a Force Field. While the Force Field may be significantly weakened, this can take damage up to his maximum. (Def versus ATK or Tec of opponent, whichever is higher). This will remain standing until such is the case. This is a purely defensive move. A good hit, or any super move could shatter the shield. It requires one hand, and cannot be used while moving, unfortunately. Takes him about 5 seconds to summon, and covers the area of a mini van around him. This is summoned around his body. It does require about 4 seconds of uninterrupted concentration for him to use. It cannot when being made be used with other moves, but after it is produced, he can use other moves while it is active for 12 seconds. The barrier is very fragile, and so a single hit could break it.

This is moderately draining on his stamina, equivalent to a MK I. It should be noted that this is only the first version of his barrier, and as such weak comparatively to any that he would gain in the future to replace it.

A Not So Easy or Quick Question: Characters
Posted by: Jack Darby - 11-25-2017, 10:16 PM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (14)

The question I am about to ask is one that is too big for the Quick and Easy Questions thread. You see, I've had an idea that I'll be using for Veritas's replacement in about thirty days (give or take a few) but I want to make sure the idea would be feasibly sound, and well within the rules of the site. The idea is a character who will sort have the personalities/memories/minds of many characters from many different series/shows inside of his brain. I am not sure if such an idea would be allowed,  so I will pose the question now about the character idea.

Would he be allowed?

  Stu Gillman-Street
Posted by: Stuart Gillman-Street - 11-25-2017, 07:11 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (3)

CHARACTER NAME:
Stuart Gillman-Street

CHARACTER SOURCE:
OC

CHARACTER HISTORY:
Born in 1995 in the north European country of Fegensula, Stuart grew up as a meek and nervous child on the outskirts of the metropolitan city Cicardy. Upon going to the city’s Cicardy University at age 18, he met his dorm-mate, the antithetically confident and largely immoral Stanley Arinson. Over the next 4 years, Stan taught Stu to loosen up from his cowardly attitude to an anxious yet not spineless figure, more open to new experiences.

At the age of 22, Stu inherited a storage unit owned by his late grandfather, a man he never knew existed. As it turns out he was inheriting the veritably sci-fi-like experiments that, among other things, included a ray gun and even a device called the Intermundi that allowed him to travel between universes.

After avoiding danger multiple times in multiple adventures, usually involving Stan, Stu developed a skill for evading capture, with his speed and slim stealthy body helping him do that. He also developed great knowledge of the universes and its inhabitants by studying at the interdimensional foundry of knowledge called Ardnaria.

While Stu is kindly and willing to help others, he is an occasionally shy man whose wariness occasionally conflicts with his need to help others.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

Stu is tall (6ft 3in) skinny (145lb) Caucasian man with fairly short dark brown hair, deep blue eyes, and a boyish complexion. He has a single tattoo of a stylised A-like symbol (a symbol of the Brotherhood of Ardnaria) on the right side of his neck. He tends to wear informal clothing (such as jeans and a t-shirt) but always wears large black leather boots on his feet.

STATS:
ATK: 2
DEF: 3
SPD: 3
TEC: 2

STARTING PROFICIENCIES:
Ranged Proficiency - 1000 OM

STARTING POWERS:
Super Speed- 1000 OM

STARTING MOVES:
Simple Ray Gun (requires Ranged Proficiency)- 300 OM
A silver futuristic-looking ray gun that fires red shots of pure energy, about the strength of a standard pistol.
