Saw a lot of people doing personal C&C in their own threads. This is nice, but it only really benefits the person who made the thread (arguably it can help people reviewing too but to a lesser extent). And with bookclub gone it seems like it'd be nice to have a thread for people to post their threads and give or receive feedback. Just post here with any threads you want feedback on and give feedback on others, then people will give feedback on yours.
I'll start with a thread of my own. Please give any feedback you have on The Good, The Bad, and The Chiseled.

Hey, Gaston and I were wondering whatever happened to the Omniverse Book Club? I'm aware that we isn't being done anymore but is it possible for someone or some staffer to start it back up?

Skeletor wandered through the frozen wilderness with a bitterness festering in his heart. The parting with Wiess had been long overdue, as the girl still clung to a notion of heroics despite the darkness that was clearly growing within her. Perhaps in a few more years, she would be more willing to join his kingdom. For now, the heavily wounded prime needed a place to lay low, a lair from which to plan his next attack against Nebula. That idiot doctor had not yet found the main lair from which Nebula was orchestrating these attacks, and until such a time, Skeletor felt no compulsion to further risk his own neck. He needed minions, spies and pawns that he could send to do these things FOR HIM. What a sorry state he was in if he needed to fend for himself in this strange world.
These dark thoughts hovered over his brooding as Panthor trudged through the snow, too grumpy to do more than sullenly march on. The snowstorm was as strong as ever, and to the travelers’ dismay it seemed to be getting only more powerful as they travelled farther into the verse. Skeletor scowled up at the weather. In Eternia, this paltry snowstorm would be a simple trifle to banish, or at least to mold around himself without obstructing his travel. Yet here in this accursed prison he could not be so frivolous with his power.
Through the blinding snowstorm, Skeletor thought he could spy the crumbled remains of some delapidated structure, a shelter from the storm if nothing else. As he and Panthor drew closer it became clear that this ruin was part of a larger collection, indeed a veritable city that had been claimed by the snow. Skeletor dismounted, but didn’t use enough care while doing so, and his leg nearly buckled as a jolt of pain shot up his leg. The Warlock grimaced, “That nimrod Nebula will pay for this!” he muttered to himself slamming a fist against the nearby wall. The action dislodged a buildup of snow from the roof which swamped the injured prime, and caused Panthor to leap away in surprise.
“Blasted SNOW! I will not be made a mockery!” Skeletor fumed, purposelessly. This was why he never chanced real injury if he could help it. The rightful ruler of Eternia needed rest, he needed a chance for his wounds to mend. Even a prime’s advanced healing wouldn’t be enough after the beating he had taken in saving this wretched flurry-infested verse. But getting that rest would require him to abandon his revenge, halt his schemes, wait for time to pass him idly. He-man and the Masters of the Universe thought him a coward for fleeing conflicts as quickly as he did. In truth Skeletor simply had better things to do than deal with the aftermath of a mistake.
The warlock struggled inside of the most intact building he could find, and paused, noting the very intact campsite that he had stumbled into, its inhabitants seemed tribal, and it looked like all five of them were away at the moment. In that snowstorm, he could probably have been within striking distance and not even have known they were there. The fireplace’s embers were still warm, and it was only a simple spell for Skeletor to reignite the blaze. Panthor lumbered into the building after him, squeezing through the doorway and immediately settling next to the fire, completely unconcerned with any new scents she could detect.
Skeletor also elected not to concern himself with the owners of the camp, confident that if it came to blows they would know his power. He sat near the fire, and with no better recourse to divert his attention began fiddling with his scanner. He had accepted the item from Dr. Regal with barely more than a moment’s thought, quite sure that the Imperial scientist had been concerned only with securing the safety of the world. Now that he stopped to think about it, there had been little to no questioning to his intentions with the devices, especially given that there had been mention of the power that the scanners could contain. His own stolen power seemed to be nearly gone, expended to destroy the villains of Nebula. And he hadn’t gotten any more out of it! The mistake continued to gnaw at Skeletor, as he sat by the fire. Panthor had fallen asleep, now snoring quite lazily in the flame’s glow. But Skeletor’s mind was in tumult, so deeply emmeshed that he almost didn’t realize that the camp’s owners had returned. Skeletor rose to his feet, wincing as imperceptibly as possible. Four hunched figures with large tusks and even more prominent mohawks had entered the building, spears in hand, and a large creature that Skeletor didn’t recognize hanging from a pole between two of them. Their largest, whom Skeletor expected was the leader took a step towards him.
“That’s a big cat, ‘Mon. Wha’chu doin here, eh? You wanna axe!”

CHARACTER HISTORY:
Growing up, Damon was had very little physical or magical potential to speak of making him the
“Family disappointment” for a nobility family however he does have a burning desire to protect the people he cares about. This led him to perform an invocation in the attempt to form a contract with a demon however he was considered to be inadequate as a patron and was rejected even by weaker demons. An assassin hired by a rival family to kill the head and thereby takeover his lands, Fortunately that night Damon was unable to sleep so he had been fruitlessly practicing magic, this meant that he was the only person who could alert his family. Even though there was no reason to save them, after all they didn’t exactly accept him, something inside him made him scream at the top of his lungs. The assassin ran in and tried to stop him screaming by plunging his dagger into Damon’s neck but the damage was already done: his family were woken up and the assassin was scared away. As Damon lay bleeding out on the floor: a major demon was intrigued by this selfless show of heroics and chose him as his patron. The room was bathed in red light as the demon possessed him, his hair bleached white and his eyes darkened becoming fully black with red irises, his wound seared shut as Damon writhed in pain. His family were horrified and tried to exorcise the demon but it was too late and the demon was there to stay… Time passed and Damon was in constant conflict with the aggressive demon he became a recluse staying away from society, as he regained control his appearance began to shift back to what it once was only reverting to his demonic form when he became too emotional and lost control.

Once again the demon found himself within the nebulous realm of dreams known as the Astral Verse. This time however, there was no painted girl and there was no city. Instead Kuzuru appeared sitting atop a boulder in the center of a glade. A breeze danced through the trees and nipped at his flesh, drawing out goosebumps. Birdsongs filled the air, underpinned by the buzzing din of insects. Squirrels and other woodland critters scampered from tree to tree each of them completely oblivious to the paragon of murder placed among them. It wasn’t until the demon scanned the heavens that this place appeared to be anything more than a forest. Once his eyes crawled past the horizon the sky gave way to a star-filled void. Vertigo clamped onto the demon and he returned his gaze back to his surroundings.
Instead of the forest he found a desolate wasteland. His boulder was still present, but there was no life in sight. What few trees still stood were nothing more than shriveled husks of their former selves. Dust-covered skeletons littered the cracked clay earth. A harsh gust of wind slapped the demon’s face. He scowled and hopped down from his perch. He sniffed the air and frowned. There was no blood here. The death that surrounded him was the worst kind. It was a lethargic and bland wasting that occured over the course of centuries. Yes he was an avatar of slaughter and he courted the lovely lady death, but this lack of action sickened him. Kuzuru spit onto an animal skull.
“What a boring dream,” he mused and continued to walk through the badlands.
Every step that Kuzuru took sent slight tremors through the clay underfoot. Spiderweb cracks propagated out from his footprints, mulching the clay into piles of red gravel. Spires of twisted stone breached through the earth and climbed towards the sky. These spires morphed into hellish facsimiles of skyscrapers. These towering leviathans were made from the same red clay and looked as if they were made by giant cavemen. A single curved sprouted from Kuzuru’s forearm which he dragged against the stone structures. This horrendous scraping noise echoed throughout the barren city.
“Anyone out there?” he called, raising his voice as loud as it could go.

Asriel's feet felt cold as he walked on the tile of the first floor of the council tower.
The first floor was an enormous lobby where many beings, many of them not human, sat in various chairs, waiting to talk to the council or some other important mage types who lived here. It was surprisingly modern and reminded him of Mettaton's hotel. He supposed all the rooms in the tower were likely lit with the same device that lit this room, which looked like a lightbulb, although it was probably magitech. It fit into slots in various torch-like devices that lined the room as well as holes in the ceiling. Oddly, there were no stairs or elevators here.
He saw a human man sitting at a wooden desk. He was wearing a red business suit and looked exceedingly normal compared to the rest of the citizens he'd seen.
"Oh, hey, kid. So, why'd you come here?" the secretary drawled with a light Southern accent.
"W-well, I'm a new arrival in this Omniverse place." Asriel quietly explained. "Some wizards told me that this city was a place in Camelot for magical beings to live and that there might be a master who will teach me magic here."
"So, you want to join our apprentice system? Well, come with me to the council, kid. They'll decide if you're worthy."
Someone sitting in the lobby sat up and yelled, "When can I see the council?"
"Shut up." the man in the red suit said. "You'll be able to talk to them soon."
Then, he took out a wand from his pocket and muttered something Asriel couldn't distinguish. The secretary turned to a wall and created a portal to the top floor where the Council meets to discuss various topics.
So that's how they get around in this tower. the child thought.
The man explained that the Council only gathers once per week to talk to people who wanted to see them.
"Go on." the secretary said with a kind tone and a smile. "Step through."
Asriel walked through the portal, which closed as soon as he arrived in the room.
The council's room had its walls, ceiling and floor made out of stones. It had 14 chairs where the councilmen (and women), as well as one other, could sit that surrounded a large wooden desk.

Character source: One Piece
Character history:

Appearance:
https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/one...0928152449
Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 4
SPD: 2
TEC: 2
Starting Proficiencies: (4600) Physical Strength(1000), Ranged Proficiency(1000), Area Attack(600), Area Defense(400), Ranged Materialize(600), Debuff(1000)
Starting Powers: (4400) Hive Mind(400), Disassemble(800), Foresight(1500), Advanced Enhanced Senses(1700)
Starting Moves: (1200)
Hook (Physical Strength, Debuff) : (600) A large golden hook, replacing Crocodile's left hand. Useful for attack, but also for defense via the large bulb at the base. The hook itself is about 0.6 meters in length from bulb to tip, but the bend gives it a true reach of only about 0.5 meters. The bulb is roughly spherical, with a diameter of 0.5 meters, and may be used as a bludgeoning weapon. By slipping off its golden sheath, Crocodile can reveal a far deadlier weapon underneath: a porous, stainless steel counterpart filled with a deadly poison. While the hook itself will only deal about half as much damage on a direct hit, this poison will moderately sap away at a foe's health for about 10 seconds before the Prime immune system rids the body of it. Multiple hits don't increase the damage of the poison, but DO reset the duration back to 10 seconds.
Sables: (Debuff, Area Attack, Advanced Enhanced Senses) : (300) Crocodile forms a miniature dust devil in the palm of his hand, charging the requisite energy for a few seconds before allowing it to enlarge to encompass a 50 meter area around him. While the storm is relatively weak and won't hinder movement or speech, the sand within it makes it impossible to see anything further than 1 meter away, and the noise of rushing wind hinders hearing in the same range. Even scent is affected, as it becomes impossible to trace where any particular smell may be coming from within the vortex. Enhanced Senses, however, are unaffected entirely, as are other abilities which grant preternatural senses, nor is Crocodile himself affected as he is able to feel the presence of people within the storm by how the sand hits them. After causing this storm, Crocodile can either release it, at which point it will remain for about 10 seconds before subsiding, or he can maintain it. Doing so allows him to continue to hinder his foes, but can become rather draining if maintained for long periods. Typically, any duration longer than a minute will exhaust Crocodile to the point of ineffectiveness in combat, and even a "fire and forget" usage can become bothersomely tiring if used too often and too quickly. While maintained, the storm remains centered of Crocodile, but if released it will be centered of where he released it.
Suna Suna no Mi (Hive Mind, Disassemble) : (300) Crocodile has mastered his Devil Fruit powers to the point where he can turn individual portions of his body to sand while leaving the rest of his body unchanged. In effect, this allows him to more quickly change his limbs, head, or small portions of his torso and abdomen to their Disassembled state, though how much more quickly depends on the size of the area to be changed. Bullet-sized portions are changed extremely quickly, while larger portions take more time. As a general rule of thumb, the time it takes for Crocodile to convert half his body into sand is half the time if takes to convert his whole body, with smaller and larger portions taking proportionally more and less time. However, regardless of how much of his body he actually changes, the energy drain is the same as it would be if he had fully transformed into sand and therefore very rapid conversions will leave Crocodile exhausted in short order.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

| Keeping your faction active - any tips? |

This question goes out to all you faction members out there, especially to the leaders, and is an open invitation to everyone to discuss.
Let me preface this by admitting openly that I am probably going to use what information you're willing to share, to improve Heaven and Earth, or whatever other faction I may participate in/lead in the future. So... don't share anything you're not comfortable with having copycatted :frogpipe:
What is it that you do with your faction that is keeping it going and active? Or if you're a member, is there anything you do from your non-leading position to help keep the faction alive?
Sample questions:
-What would you say is the most "important" part of the faction's setup to get people interested? Proper goals, an awesome logo, a roster of "celebrity" characters with well-known players (e.g. Alex, Shawn, Sammy, Kelsie...), something entirely different?
-Do you keep people interested with fresh quests and events?
-Do you organize in-house events like jousting tournaments or summer vacations? Or more serious storylines to keep people engaged?
-What about your faction forums? Do(es) your faction(s) have a lot of activity in them? (this is not a request to reveal information from them, the faction forums are private for a reason!)
-For those with "canonical" factions (looking at you, Thieves Guild and Avengers), does it help that you picked something existing rather than inventing your own faction name?
-How do you manage the PR to get people's attention without annoying anyone (both IC and OOC)?
-How much time would you say are you investing into faction stuff?
-Is there a "secret trick" to it? Something that has to click and everything will flow nicely?
This also extends to anyone who may have led guilds in MMOs or similar games before, though obviously the sample questions don't really apply!
