  In Westside We Trust
Posted by: Jacket - 02-25-2018, 11:59 AM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (14)

A big gasp come out of Jacket's mouth from a horrible nightmare he had, making him shot up from his sleep. His eyes blinked a couple of times and noticed he was fully awakened from his slumber. He looked back at the alarm clock sitting on his nightstand next to the bed reading 7:14 AM. There really wasn't time for him to sleep since it was almost the normal morning hour for him to wake up. His hand reached out for the alarm clock and set the alarm to never go off now. After that, his arm retracted back to the bed where he was still laying. Jacket didn't waste time anymore and got out of bed then headed out of his bedroom. The artificial morning sky of Tier Four shined through the window of the bedroom which gave lighting for Jacket. He slowly moved to the kitchen to take his time after an unnerving night.

The grieving prime plopped himself down into one of the chairs at the kitchen table. His elbows went on top the table with arms positioned so he could bury his face in his hands. The morning blond hair was messy and not very well combed down. He was too tired to shed any more tears since he let them all out from last night. His stomach growled from the bowels for breakfast, but depression weighed him down. It's tough reuniting with a loved one from a previous life than losing them on that same day. Life wasn't easy on Jacket and it has never been when he lived back in the previous century.

At some time, Jacket had a little courage to summon breakfast but just a simple meal that involved scrambled eggs and a piece of butter toast. The sparkling rich particles came out of the omnilium and formed the meal right in front of his eyes. It came off with a rich smell that anyone experienced when someone was cooking breakfast. The eggs steamed with a mouthwatering touch and the crunchy toast glistened with butter spread over the top. A fork was right next to the plate and Jacket's body made him eat something. He took the fork and pierced a piece of the eggs with it. The piece of egg moved toward his mouth and took a soft bite out of it. This food did lighten his spirits up just a little bit than Jacket wasted no time to leave his meal out longer.

After eating breakfast, he went off to do his daily hygiene routines that involved brushing his teeth, combing his hair, flossing, putting on deodorant, and shaving. Fifteen minutes later, Jacket sat on the couch fully cleaned and dressed for the day in his casual clothing. He turned on the flat screen television due to the boredom getting to him. The lonely prime flipped through the channels that some consisted commercials, political news talking about the Empire's daily politics, reality shows, sports, and drama shows. He decided just to see what the action news had to say about Coruscant's recent events. The female news anchor first opened with a story about the members of the growing "Avengers" were recently detained by the EPD from a crime they caused.

Jacket had enough watched the news for about twenty minutes and shut the television off. He got up from the couch and decided maybe he should get out and at least maybe visit a couple places here in Tier Four that isn't shady. Since after all, Jacket really hasn't visited or gone sightseeing in this part of the city yet. At least it didn't look or feel as bad as the other lower tiers. Imperial activity wasn't heavily here but it felt their presence on this tier was cut in half compared to the upper tiers. In his mind, he thought going to a local bar or somewhere would help get Luci off his brain, maybe. Jacket made his way to the apartment's door and opened it. An envelope laid in front of the door to his apartment. He picked up the envelope and felt it around for a bit to make sure there wasn't anything suspicious inside. The only thing he could feel was paper and decided to open the envelope. Jacket pulled out a folded paper than unfolded it to see what it said. It was handwritten and the letter read out in these words.

"Meet at this certain address. It's very important." - Chirpa

Chirpa sounded like a familiar name to Jacket but it took a moment to realize who he was. His girlfriend was friends with him and he appeared to be an aging short living teddy bear creature which locals call them Ewoks. Jacket fold the paper up and stuck it in his pocket to save the address. The ripped-up envelope was thrown away in a trashcan that was inside his apartment. Jacket walked through the complex and left the apartment building to enter the street. It was lively with people walking back and forth with different creatures wearing strange attires or normal clothing Jacket was used to. He brought out his omnilium and summoned his DeLorean in an empty parallel parking space. Once the car had appeared, Jacket opened the driver's gull wing door and shut it behind him. The sports car started up with the engine revving with a lively tune.

The prime drove out of the parking space and found a spot in the traffic for him to get on the road. Driving to the address took about fifty minutes due to the awful traffic jam on Tier Five. Once Jacket reached his destination, he realized Luci and himself were at this place last night going over plans for their mission. He pulled into the Junkyard that had piles of scrap and cars stacked on top of each other. Jacket slowed the car going about 10 mph, weaving around junk piles with his stainless-steel DeLorean. When he reached Chirpa's repair shop, the car was parked by him than shut off. Meanwhile, Chirpa was drinking black coffee out of a white mug with black letters over it saying, "Badass" while he monitored his security cameras for a minute. The scruffy Ewok noticed Jacket had just arrived and he exited the room to go to the front door.

Jacket got out of the car and shut the gull wing door behind him which he manually locked the car up. The smell of Tier Five came to his nose which was familiar with that old city smell he was used to in the 80s. Notably, here it smelt more like stinky exhaust coming out from diesel vehicles. He walked up to the door he could only find on this side of the shop. There was a doorbell that was installed, and Jacket pressed the button to get someone's attention. The door opened and Chirpa was the one that came to the door.

"Was there anyone that was following you?" Chirpa asked anxiously with his worn scruffy voice and but had a calm tone.

Jacket shook his head in a "no" response which made Chirpa relax a little.

"Alright then, come into my shop." Chirpa gave access to Jacket, letting the prime walk in.

The technician expert Ewok triple-locked the door behind Jacket than quickly followed him. Jacket noticed he was in a living room but not the best living room he has ever seen, the wallpaper was starting to fade, furniture looked pretty worn retro, one classic television box was set up on a wooden piece of furniture that had drawers, the couch and the recliners looks like parts of the once comfy furniture had rips with openings revealing the soft material they were made out of but still had use in them. Chirpa led Jacket into their underground kitchen which wasn't too big nor too small. The Ewok walked to the other end of a metallic kitchen table and pulled out an industrial chair. Jacket also joined him at the table that didn't have anything on its surface.

Afterward, they settle down at the table with Chirpa taking another drink out of his mug. He put the coffee down on the table following him clearing his throat.

"We need to talk," Chirpa said in a serious tone to the depressed prime.

I give your character 40k rules because I'm bored
Posted by: The Emperor of Mankind - 02-25-2018, 07:41 AM - Forum: The Creative Corner - Replies (16)

Read the title.
For all you non 40k playing plebs this is how it works.
M is how many inches you can move, this is normally way smaller than it should be
WS is your weapon skill if it says 3+ you need to roll a 3 or better to hit
BS is your ballistic, the same as WS but with guns
S is your strength
T is your toughness, if your T is half the enemy strength they will wound you on 2s, if it is lower 3s, if it is equal 4s, if it is above 5s and if it is double 6s.
W is how many wounds you have
A is how many attacks you and how many close combat attacks you can make in a turn
Ld is your leadership but for single model units it isn't that important
Sv is similar to your WS or BS but it saves you from the wound. This is your armour save and can be changed.
If a weapon has X" under range it uses BS and is fired in the shooting phase, if the range is melee it is used in the attack phase.
Each weapon has a type, melee means that it is used in melee, assault means you can fire after advancing with a -1 to hit, rapid fire means you can double the shots within half range, grenade means that only one model in the unit may fire a grenade weapon but if it targets a unit in a ruins fortification it will do the maximum amount of hits. heavy means if you fire after moving you fire at a -1 to hit and pistol means you can fire in combat but you can only fire pistols or any other weapon type, not both.
Certain weapons and units have abilities that will be mentioned on the page, you may fire as many weapons as you want in the shooting phase.
Every model has faction keywords and keywords
If the unit is within cover (not 100% visible) add 1 to all armour save rolls.

In the movement phase you may move X" or if you advance X"+D6, you may not charge or shoot if you advance unless stated otherwise. If in combat you may fall back 1", you can not shoot or charge unless you have the FLY keyword or specified otherwise this turn.

In the psychic phase you may use psychic powers. Each model can only use psychic powers a set amount of times always know smite. You roll 2D6 and if you meet the required number you cast it successfully, if you roll double 1s or double 6s you take D3 mortal wounds and it fails. An enemy may counter a psychic power by rolling higher with a deny the witch test, they will not get perils of the warp for this though.

In the shooting phase you shoot. S is the strength of the weapon, AP is how much the enemy's armour save is reduced by (-2 AP targeting a 3+ save would make a 5+ save) and D is how many wounds it deals, these are not saved seperately.

In the charge phase you may nominate any unit within 12" of an enemy unit to charge. The enemy unit may then fire at the charging unit as if it was the shooting phase, assuming that ther are in range. The shooting unit may only hit on 6s though. If the model lives, roll 2D6, if the total is how many inches away the enemy model is -1" you may move it within 1" and then move it up to another 3" to pile in.

In the attack phase, the charging unit will always strike first unless said otherwise. They make A amount of attacks with multiple weapons not giving you more hits unless said otherwise. After the unit has fought, the other unit may strike back. Psychic powers may be used in combat but no ranged weapons can except for pistols.

In the moral phase you get every casualty each unit sustained that turn. if they took any, add D6 and subtract their Leadership. If the number is positive, that many models leave the battlefield.

You must be within 3" of an objective to take it, if you have the FLY keyword you will not be able to take it, if you are not a troop you may take it but will contest it if another non troop unit comes within 3". If you are a troop you will take it even if a non troop unit is within 3" but will contest it against other troop units.

  Of Gals and Grails
Posted by: Artoria Pendragon - 02-25-2018, 01:41 AM - Forum: Camelot - No Replies

In the past, Artoria had always made her decisions without hesitation. A resolve that never wavered and judgement that was always just.

But today, she was no longer the judge. Rather, she stared before at the gate - at her own judgement that had been set before her. Of course, the decision to remain here in purgatory was one that she could’ve taken… Yet to stay still, was to fear the future. To fear tomorrow.

And the King of Knights, no matter how afraid, knew that should she stay here, the lack of judgement would gnaw at her sanity. The seeds of doubt would sow themselves in her mind and take root, slowly consuming whatever contented fragments of herself she had and feed those that she could only contemn.

As such, the armoured knight took a step forward, the first step to her future. To whatever laid in wait for her. She would face it and triumph, even if she were judged malevolent, blameworthy.

Artoria could not lie. She wanted to be judged reprehensible. She yearned to be found demeritorious and receive a punishment for her crimes. To be adjudicated for her crimes against Britain, no matter how severe the punishment.

Finding herself before the gate, her resolve to be punished did not waver in the slightest. Without hesitation, the knight took the final step.

The gate consumed her physical form in an instant as the knight felt herself being torn from all sides, even as she felt herself spinning uncontrollably. She could figure little symbolism for it as she ejected from the other side, spat out by the magic as she crashed into the ground with her armour clanging and clattering loudly as she spun on the stones.

The first thing she realized as her vision returned, was that she could see grass in the corner of her vision. As green and verdant as ever, the lush vegetation greeted her, granting her mind a sliver of peace, a hint that she had not received the worst judgement possible.

With expertise, the knight spun onto her feet, facing herself toward the unknown, uncertain what would greet her.

And so, the knight staggered back with a shriek emanating from her helmet. One that could only be described as panic - confusion. A lack of understanding so primal that it wasn’t conceivable to weave it into words.

In the distance, the city was unmistakable. It wasn’t exactly akin to her own, yet the similarity was unmistakable with its marble white towers and magnificent walls.

Camelot.

There's a fancy dress party coming up in the OV. Everyone is invited, but none of your characters know what to wear.

Suggest an alternate form (new statline and appearance) for the person above you (serious or otherwise). Explanations are optional, as are additional moves to go with it. Try to stay roughly consistent with their stat upgrades.

First person to post gets to suggest one for Ebony, and so on.

  Between Walls of Steel
Posted by: Moon Knight - 02-23-2018, 05:50 PM - Forum: Coruscant - Replies (23)

The Imperial prison, a home for Coruscant’s lowliest of low life. A festering pool of the fearful and evil, a holding place for criminals and worse the Avengers were in it, and for God knows how long. The Team was pushed into single file line, having to march through the dim light narrow corridors of the prison. Graffiti littered the metal and concrete walls and prisoners held in their cells only by an orange ray shield shouted and raved like madmen.

"Alright! Move it, move it! Get your ugly masked asses on that gravity lift, don't make any sudden moves unless you enjoy getting your guts stomped in,"  a grizzled, rough looking Imperial officer with scars patterning his shouted behind the team. The Imp officer kept them moving, keeping each member moving, minus the unconscious Centurion who was being dragged across the metal plated floor by two stormtroopers.

"Hey! Get back here with my stuff! How am I to blame for anything, I was fucking unconscious!" Angel complained Dick pushing her to keep moving.

"Quiet up there!"

“You better be right about this Marc. I don’t want to spend another lifetime in jail.” Marcus said slightly turning his head toward Spector, his eyes narrowing and voice only wavering only a bit.

“And neither do I.” Marc shot back, sighing. “I’m sure Jarvis will pull in.”

“You’re crazy.” Angel chimed in.

“I’ve been told.”

“How do you know Jarvis has us covered? he could have bailed on us, Ratione what do you think?” Angel said sneering at a passing trooper.

“I agree with Moon Knight.”

“Of course you do!” Angel said rolling her eyes.

Member by member the entire team was shoved into the gravity lift. Stormtroopers piled in as well, surrounding them at every corner of the lift. Their guns pointed at each member as if they were going to do something. With a Jolt, the lift came alive bringing them upward until they entered a dome-shaped building with prison cells patterning every inch of wall.

“Prisoner D667B AKA the Moon Knight you and Prisoner D773F currently unconscious are the first to be dropped off.” The Imp officer said pointing at an empty cell as he piloted the lift.

With a giant mechanical click the lift connected with the prison cell. The orange ray shield instantly shut off. The two troopers carrying Cade quickly rushed into the cell, throwing the kid on an empty bed connected to the concrete wall.

“Alright your turn moon man!” A trooper shouted, punching Marc in the back of the head before being shoved into the cell causing him to collapse hard onto the floor.

“Welcome to Hell inmate.” The officer said disconnecting the lift from the cell and directing the lift off to another cell.

Sighing, Marc picked himself up and stepped away from his Cell’s ray shield. Making his way to his own bed he shifted to his back and laid down folding his arms behind his head.

“Khonshu are you there?”

Of course my son.

“Do you think Jarvis will come back for us?”

I do not know my son, you mortals are so very unpredictable. He could just leave you and the others. Sell the Quinjet and make off doing something else.

“I doubt he’d ever do something like that.”

Who knows Marc, who knows? I have to say, we’re not doing so bad as Captain America’s replacement. You know that leadership stuff is all me right?

“To be honest Khonshu, it disturbs me that Cap could change like he did, and it’s even worse now that Hydra is here in the Omniverse. I know one thing though, when I get my hands on Baron Zemo, he will pay.”

Oh, of course, Marc my son. I want you to make him scream. Make him suffer for the pain he’s brought to those who are under our watchful eyes. We will bath in the blood of Hydra! Zemo’s face will be nothing but a sacrifice to me!

“No.”

You cannot refuse your destiny, you will not deny your god. Is this how you repay me for the great gift I have given you? My son, I have given you life again, the ability of a second chance. WHY! You are a mere child, thrown into things he cannot comprehend. Your mind has always been fractured and you are lucky that I even made you my avatar! Is this truly what I deserve for saving you?

“No…”

Then why will you not do what I ask?

“Because is this killing needed?!? Does it truly bring justice to the world? All I’ve ever wanted was to redeem myself from the sins I committed in the past and what you ask me is close to what I was before I took your mantel.”

Marc, you are doing what’s right. Sometimes an evil must be made to do what’s right. You are my blade of vengeance, a force merely here to bring forth a balance in this world. Now silence, the boy rises from his slumber, such as the Nile will rise from its shores.

Quickly, jumped off of his bed rushing to the kid as he got up.

“Stay still, kid,” Spector said holding Cade’s shoulders keeping him in place.

“Where... where am I.”

“An Imperial prison and I am... Sorry for what I- the team did to you. It was all a misunderstanding. The Empire wanted the Avengers in handcuffs.”

just a small smalltown girl in a nexustown world.
Posted by: Shantotto - 02-22-2018, 07:52 PM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (2)

Shantotto saw the blaring light coming from the portal that had opened up in front of her, it was not her own magic that had spawned the gateway, but rather some one being. “It’s shoddy mage work at best…. Lets see if it’s creator will pass my test.” She said as she waddled through the gateway.

Darkness overcame the short Tarutaru as she looked on, her small rodresting powerless at her side. In the darkness a single figure in glowing white stood, smiling. Shantotto’s interest was piqued as she waddled in the blackness towards the being clad in light. She opened her mouth to speak but when words failed to come out she looked on in slight respect.

The being began to speak, something Shantotto was irked that she could not. Still she listened as it spoke.
“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Shantotto listened to the being who called itself Omni spoke regarding the changes in the world she now found herself in. After Omni had finished his information he vanished, and Shantotto found herself in a world of white. White sky, white stone ground. “If this whole place is but a world of white… I shant find myself much delight.” She said aloud as she looked around, There was a large fountain that seemed to be the focus of attention, people and things gathered around it watching it as if mesmerized. Without warning the fountain changed shape right before her eyes. Having seen it go from a simple fountain made of pure white swans to one resembling a tall tower with sweeping archways. It was something Shantotto had never seen the likes of before, something definitely worth studying.

To the other denizens of this area, something called the nexus they seemed less interesting in how it worked and more keen to guess what form the fountain would take next. “If only it were a crime…. These simpletons could never be a Prime. Ohohohoh” she said before laughing in her signature way. Before she began to waddle off towards the closest of the many gateways around the nexus.

Behind her, Shantotto could hear people mocking her, her short stature seemed to draw ire from those of lesser minds everywhere she went. Shantotto was well beyond used to it, so she simply ignored it. Her short legs stook forever for her to get to the first gate, a duo of presumably armed guards stood on each side of the doorway. Sizing up every… thing that stepped through the gate. “Hello there?” She asked staring up at the first of the guards. “What was that?” the white armor clad guard said, his voice synthesized by the helmet of his armor. The guard before her scanned around him before hearing Shantotto speak once more. “Down here you oversized buffoon, I can clearly see you are not visually atune.” She said, mocking the stormtrooper before her who paid little attention to the words she spoke. Shantotto assumed it was largely due to his inability to understand words longer than three letters. The second guard seemed more intelligent as he chuckled at the blatant insult Shantotto had just spilt out. “What do you need?” the second guard asked

“The location that this gate does lead, is the nature of my need” Shantotto replied as she focused on the second guard, her interest in the similarly synthesized voice. “This gateway leads to the Capital of the Empire, Coruscant.” The trooper said, his face hidden and his voice modified by the helm, gave Shantotto little indication as to what he was thinking. Still he had found her banter entertaining so he couldn't be all bad. Shantotto waited for a more detailed explanation. When none came she inquired more. “ I'm not asking for every stick and stone… just clarification regarding this zone “ she said shrugging her shoulders at the troopers.

Behind her a brawl was seeming to take place turning her attention to what looked like a clown squaring up against a little girl in a black and purple lolita dress. The Stormtroopers behind her seem to notice this as well as they left their post to examine the fight. The fight however did not interest the black mage, so she simply began to waddle away, she paused looking back at the two guards. “If you lads do not wish to become a puddle of human paste ….I suggest you leave this area with all due haste.”

With those words she waddled off looking for something else to draw her interest. She glanced once more at the large central fountain that had once again changed shape, now a towering dragon spitting forth water from it's maw in a spectacular display of mist. The effect was enjoyable to Shantotto, even if just a little.

Her pause however, did not last. Instead she moved among the many people and things in the Nexus, inspecting each one with her light brown eyes, watching for small tells that each person had. Most of it was useless information she would sort through once she had experienced the Nexus to its entirety.

  Mimic Resistance Move
Posted by: Crocodile - 02-22-2018, 07:37 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (5)

A lot of talk about wanting folks to not Mimic ya stuff in the Chatbox. Some folks want a straight "Anti-Mimic" ability, some folks think it wouldn't work cuz people would think it'd be a required thingy. Well, I'll show ya how to do it, within the rules; offering both an Anti-Mimic Super Move and a Mimic Resistance Move.

First things first, whatcha gonna need for this? Well, you'll need Debuff Proficiency, for starters. You'll also need Insight (if you want to quash Mimic before they can Mimic you), Telepathy (to muddle the memory of your Move from the mind of the Mimicker), and Suppression (to keep Insight Mimickers from snagging your Moves from your mind). Without further ado, let's build a Move and Super Move.

Move: There is No Substitute for the Original; Debuff, Insight, Telepathy, Suppression (300 OM)

(Insert Name Here) is a super special person whom no one can hope to duplicate. By muddling an opponent's mind and hiding their own abilities, (Insert Name Here) makes it much harder for a Mimicker to copy their abilities. The difference in Tec between (INH) and the Mimicker is the additional number of seconds required for the Mimicker to Mimic any of (INH)'s abilities, unless the Mimicker has a higher Tec, in which case they are unaffected. This difference also affects how much less skilled the Mimicker is at using the ability than is the norm for Mimic, again not changing if the Mimicker has a higher Tec, and increasing in difficulty to use as a positive gap increases.

Tier 1 Super Move: No, For Real... THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE! (600 OM)

(Insert Name Here) is a super special person whom no one can hope to duplicate. By muddling an opponent's mind and hiding their own abilities, (Insert Name Here) makes it impossible for a Mimicker to copy their abilities for 1 round. This can be maintained from round to round by continuing to spend SP.
