just a small smalltown girl in a nexustown world. - Shantotto - 02-22-2018 Shantotto saw the blaring light coming from the portal that had opened up in front of her, it was not her own magic that had spawned the gateway, but rather some one being. “It’s shoddy mage work at best…. Lets see if it’s creator will pass my test.” She said as she waddled through the gateway. Darkness overcame the short Tarutaru as she looked on, her small rodresting powerless at her side. In the darkness a single figure in glowing white stood, smiling. Shantotto’s interest was piqued as she waddled in the blackness towards the being clad in light. She opened her mouth to speak but when words failed to come out she looked on in slight respect. The being began to speak, something Shantotto was irked that she could not. Still she listened as it spoke. “My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.” Shantotto listened to the being who called itself Omni spoke regarding the changes in the world she now found herself in. After Omni had finished his information he vanished, and Shantotto found herself in a world of white. White sky, white stone ground. “If this whole place is but a world of white… I shant find myself much delight.” She said aloud as she looked around, There was a large fountain that seemed to be the focus of attention, people and things gathered around it watching it as if mesmerized. Without warning the fountain changed shape right before her eyes. Having seen it go from a simple fountain made of pure white swans to one resembling a tall tower with sweeping archways. It was something Shantotto had never seen the likes of before, something definitely worth studying. To the other denizens of this area, something called the nexus they seemed less interesting in how it worked and more keen to guess what form the fountain would take next. “If only it were a crime…. These simpletons could never be a Prime. Ohohohoh” she said before laughing in her signature way. Before she began to waddle off towards the closest of the many gateways around the nexus. Behind her, Shantotto could hear people mocking her, her short stature seemed to draw ire from those of lesser minds everywhere she went. Shantotto was well beyond used to it, so she simply ignored it. Her short legs stook forever for her to get to the first gate, a duo of presumably armed guards stood on each side of the doorway. Sizing up every… thing that stepped through the gate. “Hello there?” She asked staring up at the first of the guards. “What was that?” the white armor clad guard said, his voice synthesized by the helmet of his armor. The guard before her scanned around him before hearing Shantotto speak once more. “Down here you oversized buffoon, I can clearly see you are not visually atune.” She said, mocking the stormtrooper before her who paid little attention to the words she spoke. Shantotto assumed it was largely due to his inability to understand words longer than three letters. The second guard seemed more intelligent as he chuckled at the blatant insult Shantotto had just spilt out. “What do you need?” the second guard asked “The location that this gate does lead, is the nature of my need” Shantotto replied as she focused on the second guard, her interest in the similarly synthesized voice. “This gateway leads to the Capital of the Empire, Coruscant.” The trooper said, his face hidden and his voice modified by the helm, gave Shantotto little indication as to what he was thinking. Still he had found her banter entertaining so he couldn't be all bad. Shantotto waited for a more detailed explanation. When none came she inquired more. “ I'm not asking for every stick and stone… just clarification regarding this zone “ she said shrugging her shoulders at the troopers. Behind her a brawl was seeming to take place turning her attention to what looked like a clown squaring up against a little girl in a black and purple lolita dress. The Stormtroopers behind her seem to notice this as well as they left their post to examine the fight. The fight however did not interest the black mage, so she simply began to waddle away, she paused looking back at the two guards. “If you lads do not wish to become a puddle of human paste ….I suggest you leave this area with all due haste.” With those words she waddled off looking for something else to draw her interest. She glanced once more at the large central fountain that had once again changed shape, now a towering dragon spitting forth water from it's maw in a spectacular display of mist. The effect was enjoyable to Shantotto, even if just a little. Her pause however, did not last. Instead she moved among the many people and things in the Nexus, inspecting each one with her light brown eyes, watching for small tells that each person had. Most of it was useless information she would sort through once she had experienced the Nexus to its entirety. RE: just a small smalltown girl in a nexustown world. - Shantotto - 02-23-2018 Shantotto paused for a moment when she realize she had the shiny orb of malleable energy in her pocket. She drew it out and proceeded to study it, her light brown eyes surveying every shift of color and every change in shape. The substance seemed akin to how clay functioned allowing the sculptor to shape it to his every whim. This was a true opportunity to learn the true limits of the Arcane Arts and something that Shantotto what experiment on in great detail. The more she studied it, the more she was intrigued by it. The next course of action would be to learn how to transfer her magic abilities from vanadiel to the Nexus. As she studied it she found an almost engram hidden in her subconscious, studying that gave her reason to believe that she would be able to recreate an old favorite of hers, the ancient spell”freeze”. The concept was simple enough create a vacuum, introduce shards of ice that rotate around creating a small maelstrom. And then flash freeze anything caught inside. She drew upon the power granted to her by the orb of malleable light, where she took time to Target a small area in the white flooring to attempt to bring forth her magic. As she focused she saw the Maelstrom forming and lo and behold it exploded violently freezing the floor. Going back looking for more of the engrams such as the one she had just drawn upon, she was cross to find there were none. Still the being that called himself Omni had stated that her orb of omnilium would allow her to recreate the Spells regardless. Instead she turned her attention once more to the orb and try to summon a journal slowly a journal took forum in front of her, shining brightly with light from the omnilium. Once it was finished, Shantotto cracked open the leather bound book, a small quill and inkwell nestled hidden in it’s cover. She removed the quill ,dipped the reddish gold quill into the ink and began to scribble. The notes were clearly not written to be readable. The notes, written in a coded language she had developed, we're easily decodable by someone of similar intelligence. Tho it was more a fove of habit to write in such a way. These notes merely detailed her plans on developing and adapting the magics of her universe to the way and workings of what she was told was the omniverse. Closing the book she focused on the book and its size got small enough to fit on the inner pocket of her robe. Shantotto paused, taking a moment to explore the robes she wore, the linen fabric layered with rich silks was lacking power, at least the same powers that the relic armor once held back on Vanadiel, while not a problem she knew the robes, and her stardust rod, we're instrumental in increasing her powers to the levels of a good. The loss of such power was almost welcome. “Ohohohoho” she laughed aloud as she considered the situation. To one such as her this was an example to show those that had always said she was powerful only due to her lineage. To the fools who believe power is only wrought by blood….I shalt prove their brains be not more than a spud.” She said aloud. Each person or thing walking nearby her stopped to stare at the short woman who was standing in the middle of the all white nexus, talking to herself. “Weirdo” “Coocoo” “Nutcase” The words were but a blunt edge doing nothing to the Doctor who had spent the majority of her life fighting for the likes of such people. No even in such a place, and with little renown, this place was secretly a blessing, one that she hoped to take advantage of to the fullest. RE: just a small smalltown girl in a nexustown world. - Shantotto - 02-24-2018 Shantotto listened in to the sounds of combat far behind her, the clown and gothic Lolita girl seemed to be going at it. It was none of her business so she waddled away slowly, heading towards the next most interesting gateway. This gateway was guarded by soldiers clad in armor she was familiar with. As she approached it, one of the soldiers addressed her. "Greetings young miss... What can we help you with." Shantotto was used to being addressed as a young woman and often even as a child, naturally she didn't correct the man, instead responding with her usual rhyming way. "This gate seems to be similar to what I called home... Nothing is more comforting than well chisled stone." Her rhyme seemed to catch the man off guard. As he laughed at her. "Do you always speak in such a manner? He asked her, the sound of his maille clinking together was a familiar sound as he moved around straightening his spear. " Are you laughing at the way I speak?.....its no stranger to me than looking upon the weak." She said mocking the soldier, who looked on at her in mock anger before cracking up laughing once more. Shantotto ignored the laughter irritated with the low level of people she had encountered thus far. Instead going into the gateway to explore it. |
