A pale, ragged looking man materializes near the Fountain, with a great iron rod stuck through his chest. At the moment of his appearance, he's standing on his feet, but he immediately slumps to the ground.
"Oh, this is exciting. I'm not usually the one that gets moved around, y'know..." the man says softly to himself.
He lays there for quite some time, watching other beings come and go, giving a soft hello to any that greet him first.
"Oh!" he says, "I've just realized that I'm not nailed down!" He looks at the broken end of the pole, sticking out in front of him. "This is my chance, I think."
He pushes himself up against the ground, grabbing the edge of the fountain to provide support. He's not accustomed to exercise, and it takes several minutes before he's fully upright. He tries to stand up straight, but immediately falls forward. The end of the rod catches on the ground and prevents him from falling the rest of the way.
"That's close enough, wouldn't you say? Closer than I've gotten before, certainly..." he says, again to himself more than anyone else.
He takes a cautious step forward, the rod scraping against the ground as he moves. Then another step, and another. The man continues to walk along, making a slow circle around the fountain. He quietly marvels at his newfound mobility, and continues to observe his surroundings, walking around and around.

Character name: The Serial Martyr
Character source: Original
Character history: The Serial Martyr has spent the vast majority of his existence impaled on an iron spike in a pocket dimension resembling a salt flat. Occasionally, holes to other dimensions would open near him, and he would be able to converse with the people there, or try to help them in some way. Sometimes he would provide vital advice to heroes who had lost their way, other times he would simply exchange dry jokes with a disinterested passerby. Ultimately, it was all rather discouraging. Suddenly, one day, rather than things moving around him, he moved! He was brought before Omni, and then sent to the Nexus.
Physical Description: A very, very pale man with shaggy black hair and dark circles under his eyes. He's wearing a dark long sleeve shirt and slacks, both of them quite tattered. The most immediately notable trait is the large iron rod stuck through his chest, about eight feet long. The end past his back comes to a sharp point, whereas the end in front of him looks to have been broken off. The front end of the rod is constantly scraping against the ground as he walks around, and he seems to be leaning on it. There are several holes through his clothing of roughly the same diameter as the rod. He is always bearing a peculiar expression, perhaps comparable to the face of someone who has just seen something funny, but is far, far too tired to laugh about it at all.

Starting Proficiencies:
Ranged Proficiency (1000 OM)
Ranged Materialize Proficiency (600 OM)
Starting Powers:
Survival (2000 OM)
Starting Moves:
Rising Spine (requires Ranged Proficiency, Ranged Materialize Proficiency) - 300 OM
SM rests the broken end of his pole on the ground, and must stay in that spot for the duration of the attack. Around six seconds later, a similar spike emerges from the ground somewhere in his vicinity, at any angle. The end of the spike is not sharp, but it rises with enough speed to be quite painful. The spike will retract after a few seconds. After the spike has retracted, a new one can be used in only three seconds so long as it is within a meter of the previous one and he has not moved.
Let-Down - 300 OM
The pole through SM's chest is immediately pulled to the ground, forcing him to lie flat. This moves him far faster than would normally be possible, allowing him to easily duck under many attacks. However, this leaves him laying face down on the ground, and he can't move until the pole comes back up through his body a minimum of six seconds later.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

The night passed slowly after that painful battle with the strange, savage figures that had attacked the Chosen. He hadn't done much with the bodies, just dumped them back in his little alcove, as what few snowflakes as could drifted down from the open sky. He had simply left them there, and then sat in the approach to it, leaning against the wall and feeling rather...well sore. He had three rents in his armor from the fight, one in his back, and two at the front, and his helmet had been seriously dented from multiple blows to it. How he missed the bonfire, or his estus flask. In fact, he had actually tried to make the latter as the night passed and found himself strangely...unable. He did not know why he could not make it, only that he knew that he couldn't. Yet, as the night passed, as the long, cold hours passed, his pains lessened somewhat, his armor even mended itself! By the time the morning arrived, the stab in his back was gone, and his armor had only a small dent, and one of the holes in his front was completely gone! He still had a light gash on his ribs from where he had taken an axe and then a spear in the same spot, and there was still a minor rent in his armor, but still!
When the morning arrived he felt oddly rejuvenated, still a bit sore true, but he had dealt with worse pain. Blight town stood as a magnificent example considering he had spent most of his time in that place either poisoned, or very badly poisoned, neither of which were pleasant sensations. So he set out, and the morning was even pleasant. It was still terrifically cold, to the point where he had frost lining his armor, but cold was not a threat. He...wasn't really alive after all, as long as he could move, it was of no concern to him. There was fresh snow on the ground of course, and any tracks from last night were long gone. It was crisp and clean powder too, that crunched under his metal boots as he started off. The mountains soared up into the cloudy sky, surrounding him on all sides as he progressed. Where he was going he still didn't know, the giant had been lost, he had no chance of tracking the one surviving troll, so really his only option was to continue onwards. His path took him down another hillside, and then right back up a different one, he had to edge along ledges on canyon walls, and even outright scale one! Just how far had he even gone since he'd found himself in this strange realm? Miles at least, but he knew there were communities here, at the very least primitive tribes, whether of those odd giants, or the strange, spear wielding humanoids that had attacked him. What he would do when he found either given the hostile reception...well he wasn't really sure.
Hours passed, the sun rising up through the clouds, visible as a dull, bright spot in the cloud cover. The Chosen Undead made steady progress, now in a warren of cliffs, practically a maze. Some towered taller than others, great slabs of rock with crevasses and protrusions great for climbing. Others were smoother, or even covered in a hefty layer of ice that prohibited such activity. Sometimes they came in 'layers' where in a cliff face led down to a wide ledge, that gave away a meter or so later to another cliff that led to another ledge that finally led to the canyon bottom. Sometimes, there were higher canyons, where two cliffs sandwiched a path between them, requiring one to walk all the way through or climb up one of the walls to be able to see or access the lower paths. Some of the canyons had sweeping, rushing rivers with rocks churning them to froth, in some places the surface of the river was completely frozen, and it split and diverged over many areas. Treacherous terrain at the best of times, where a wrong step could dislodge ice or send one slipping down the canyon paths. It could either be a short fall or a long one, landing in soft snow or hard rock, or if you were particularly unlucky, the rushing, rolling river of freezing cold ice. All in all, probably comparable to some of the more treacherous areas the Chosen had been through, like those rafters in that massive cathedral. So, he took his time and moved carefully over the canyons. His sword was sheathed with his shield strapped to his back. Gauntlet covered fingers would grip handholds while feet searched delicately for new places to step. His metal covered body stayed to the center of paths, or pressed up to cold cliff faces as he traversed them, and the river was avoided whenever possible, and progress slowed down significantly.
Once again he was alone, although he was still watchful, there were at least two threats that he knew of now, and he was willing to bet there were still more he had yet to even see. Yet, for once it seemed he was going to get the drop on his enemies for once. For, as he advanced along a cliff edge, he caught the sound of talking, born along the wind. Gruff, guttural voices, somewhere near him. The fact that they were talking meant they had yet to realize he was here, but he would show them soon enough, that was for certain.

It was an average day in the Ark. Toybox Girl ADAPT waved as she passed by a very large robot four times her size sporting a set of powerful boosters on both back and legs that could push him faster than most robots could move. Aquila Airs, he was quite the competitor in the Union wars even with his size disadvantage. With advances in technology the strongest Cosmic Heroes tended to be humanoid types, whether robots, magical, or otherwise. There weren't many purely mechanical robots that competed on level ground with humanoid types. Of course, among those Toybox Girl was no exception. As a humanoid type robot invented by famous C.S.-tan, she sported the unique and powerful technology that lasted without issue over the couple years since her creation.
She wandered her way into the simulation rooms at the Mission Center. It was a popular spot on the Ark, the rooms provided a virtual reality and brought to life famous missions of old. The one and only fight which was known to have occurred against the actual Chaos himself as he possessed emperor Gigandroff was recreated and turned into a simulation battle from which future cosmic heroes could train against. But she's done that quite a few times, so she set it to the Cactpetus Vacation. Not every mission had a serious theme, but the enemies could be just as deadly.
As she loaded in the simulation though, something else appeared. A figure appeared in the darkness, a strange silhouette that spoke of another world and a strange substance. Toybox Girl frowned and tried to speak, but her body was frozen. This sent up all sorts of alarms in her head as she tried to move and do something. But soon she was in a land of white and she couldn't quite recall that she had been trying to start up a simulation. A systems check immediately drew up dozens of errors.
Booster Down
Radar Down
ADAPT System compromised, 95% memory wipe.
Physical analysis inconclusive.
Wireless Communications Down.
Much of her system was altered or changed, and Toybox Girl was not happy. Whatever this Omni person was, he was powerful. He probably could have killed her. But this wasn't the Demon Force's style, she would never have woken up in her own body and much of it would have been under analysis at some Demon Force Base R&D Department. She could at least thank her 0s and 1s that the enemy hadn't captured her. So she started analyzing the data she had gathered from her experience. Omnilium, that was interesting so she figured out where Omni had stored it on her and brought it out from inside her ADAPT system. Holding it in her backpack attached arm, she looked at it and knowledge came to her that wasn't in her memory but suddenly showed up. She knew how to use it. Unsure but needful of something, she brought the substance over to her mechanical parts on her head. She had to restore her systems somehow, so this would be a test.
Wireless Communications Partially Restored.
Wireless Hotspot discovered.
Well, this was something to look into. The stuff had worked, but it had taken a substantial amount of what little she had of it. Toybox Girl went through her programming and security protocols. After satisfied that she couldn't be hacked easily, she cautiously connected to the available network. Her thoughts explored the Dataverse and quickly started to sort out the data and focus on the information she wanted right now. Physics varied on area, from step to step you could find that the gravity values and other physical phenomenasuch as time in the universe changed. A great many people were here in this universe but none seemed to think that this was their own universe. Or perhaps there were natives somewhere undiscovered or blended in to this mad house. Primes were those that were summoned here by Omni himself telling that every one could report identical experiences in being summoned whereas Secondaries were otherwise brought here and their circumstances varied greatly... all this information was quick to come up and once she found a reference or a keyword she could search it and discover more information. Before she knew it, she had spent hours sifting through information available and with a lot more to go. "I'm not going to find a way back to the Ark standing around here.."

The wasteland was a pretty dramatic contrast to the white abyss that he was in before. So were the bones that were littered all around the cliff which he was about to go hurtling down. Aw, hell. Alain jumped off as he hit the ground, his vehicle in mid-air for just a second before it landed with a horrible crunching noise, completely crushing the bone it had landed on. Continuing to speed off the cliff, it flew off the edge and hit a tree before the impact with the ground. Alain slid down the cliffside, stabbing his blade into the rock as he approached the bottom to lower the speed of his descent, and jogged over to the bike to survey the damage. It was by all purposes, decimated. A wheel had fell off, there were more than five different holes of varying severity, and there was more smoke coming out than he knew was even possible. Should've gone slower. Now what? There was only the distant howling of wolves to be heard through the fog that enveloped the wasteland in front of him. Alain ditched the idea of creating another bike very quickly, as he imagined it'd end with either crashing into something in the fog, breaking the new bike and likely a few of his own bones, or getting assaulted by some kind of monster that was attracted by the noise, though both happening weren't exactly out of the question either.
None of his other choices were very desirable, so he gave up and resigned to walking through the fog instead, making sure to use his Dataverse Device so he could do something as he took a nice, calming stroll through the badlands. Moving for what seemed like forever, the only sights being blood, bones, fog, more wasteland, and the flickering image of his device's holographic screen. He tapped the headphone more than a few times in some kind of reboot attempt, but it did nothing at all, the screen merely continuing to have short bursts of static before cutting out entirely, then cutting back in another few seconds. It was annoying, but he persisted until he did everything he wanted in the Dataverse, then resolving to the fate of marching endlessly forward. The stench of death, decay and the like weren't exactly helping Alain's opinion of the place, though neither were the constant howling coupled with what he swore were sounds of flesh being torn apart by some starving, perhaps desperate creature. While it was expected that something would jump out at him on the endless stroll into the fog, a horde of vampires, zombies, skeletons, or maybe just a pack of wolves, nothing that he saw even approached him, the noise eventually fading into nothing but dead silence. After a few hours of walking, staring at the sunless sky out of pure boredom and a significant amount of consideration at the idea of setting up camp, Alain eventually arrived at a small, apparently deserted village.
Alain moved through what would've appeared to be a ghost town at a first glance, all doors closed, no sound made whatsoever. He'd stopped and sat down for a few moments, wondering if he should loot the houses or use them as shelter. Alain heard the creak of a door opening behind him as he was still thinking, turning around to greet who, or whatever stepped out. "Uh, hi?" The resident of the village slowly opened the door and walked out, hesitant. "You're not a vampire?" Alain gave them the angriest glare he could, and they merely stared back. "Yeah, I'm a vampire that just decided to walk straight through your village. Without pale skin. And no armour or weapons on me. Idiot." The villager showed no sign of offense at all, merely stating his request. "Look. You're clearly tired from walking here..." the villager looked back down the road Alain walked down, likely to check if he actually had wandered in on foot. "And we need your help. There's at least one person in the village who's one of the nightwalkers. I'll give you a place to rest in my inn, but in return, you find out who these people are." Though it was something to do, Alain was skeptical. I just happen to walk in while this guy's got a job for me? Unlikely. Not impossible, however. "And I should believe you why? I just got here, and you having a job for me seems a bit more than a coincidence...not to mention, that if you are telling the truth, you shouldn't really be trusting me, should you?" The Innkeeper thought for a few seconds before responding. "We've been living in Darkshire, basically a highly fortified town, for a while, but ever since they got the hint that we had a vampire in our group when we first moved in, we were all kicked out before a single person could protest. We're only alive because Dracula's vampires are far too focused in their attempts to breach Darkshire, they weren't aware that some of us were kicked out, now defenseless. The vampire with us, however, has likely gone rogue. Also, no, I shouldn't really trust you, but Dracula's army will find us soon, assuming the bloodsucker here hasn't killed us all first. So, what do you say?" Alain sighed in annoyance. He didn't appear to be lying. Oh well, better than sleeping on the ground and getting stabbed in my sleep. "Guess we have an agreement."

Anyway, this one pertains to NPC's. Can a secondary prime/ NPC have a bounty on their head?
Also what happens if a secondary falls into the Underverse? And how often does it happen?
Are samples of the water in the fountain of the nexus allowed to be taken out of the room?
Also do we have to post book club to weekly gains?
Maybe these were mentioned at the beginning but I can't recall the answers now.

Step 1: Make a post. This post should be at least 300 words. You may also post multiple times adding up to 300 words or more.
Step 2: Click on the name of your post. See it? It's probably something like 'Re: The Story of John Doe', a large line of text above your post. This should have a hashtag and your post link at the end of it (see the bolded part on the end here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1114&p=7298#p7298). Copy the entire URL from your address bar.
Step 3: Post it in the active weekly gains topic. The date of your post should be within the date range, GMT. If you are submitting multiple posts that add up to 300, post all the links.
Step 4 (optional): If you have posted in the current week's book club, please include a link to that post along with the text 'book club'.
Step 5 (optional): If you have a Recognition bonus, please include in your post 'Recognition bonus: +25'. If you have an Ascendancy bonus, please post with 'Ascendancy bonus: +50'.
That's all you need to do! When the topic is updated, you will be given 150 OM. Obviously if you have a recognition or ascendancy bonus, this will be increased by 25 or 50. With book club bonuses you may earn up to 250 per week (sometimes the bonus may be bigger on special occasions).
New weekly gains topics go up every Sunday at midnight (at the end of Saturday and the dawn of Sunday) GMT. The valid time begins on Sunday at 0000 hours GMT and ends on Saturday at 2359 GMT.

Adrift (1/3)
Blackness. She felt it intertwine and consume her soul, it was a sensation she would not soon forget. For a split, disjointing second, she felt an immense affliction as she came to. Any sensation she felt was met with a sharp pain, splitting through her forehead and into the back of her skull. An intense pounding, one that matched the beat of her heartbeat. Unable to think, Caira winced with pain, but through an open eye she recognized darkness. Her neck jolted suddenly as she inhaled a hesitant breath that reminded her craving lungs of the sensation and fulfillment of air. She drew in a heavy breath and found that she was surrounded by infinite nothingness, there was still clearly air to stretch her lungs, as she had ascertained. The female continued to regain her composure and realized her body was horizontal, yet, gravity did not protest to weigh or orbit any surface or ground. How did I get here?
Any attempt to excogitate how she had appeared in her present state was denied by a sort of blockage in her mind, and the pain increased as she attempted to recall the events. Perhaps a polar form of instillation derailed her memory. A lifetime was not something someone soon forgot, and hers had been replaced with an acute headache, she was definitely alive. Still, her dubious theory seemed infallible at the time as she desired to believe she was not dead and the pain was evidence enough to dissuade her from believing so.
As she continued a sweep of her surroundings, she felt no culpability nor onus, and the lack of gravity evoked awareness to her own unencumbered body. Caira began by listing the facts: I'm definitely unconscious, I am unable to recall what I was doing before this.. But if I am not, and I'm trapped in some sort of illusion, things look pretty bleak. Poison can cause hallucinations.. It's possible that a poison is the cause of.. All this. Her eyes met the darkness before her, she was within the Mouth of the Devil.
"Strange though, it feels as though I am drifting in an altered course of reality.." She spoke to the nothingness, to the darkness, and just to hear the familiar ring of her own voice purr to her ears, she felt a bit of comfort in the familiar timbre. She accounted, to the best of her ability, all of her astute senses and to this place which seemed to hold onto her, without any evidence of a physical grasp. As Caira sighed, exhuming her thoughts and delving into the point of pain, she leaned back to see if the nothingness would warp to the outline of her imagination, she found a strange sense of support suddenly tingle, as though there was density in this emptiness yet. This shock reached her breath which was mildly obstructed with the accelerated rhythm of panic and consternation.
"Humm..." She felt the agony in her skull lessen with the vibration of the tone, and then she squirmed, and turned upside down with a small struggle. Her hair tumbled downward suspiciously. Perhaps that meant the trick was up. But it was this that finally told her, "I'm not trapped at all!"
A gale force wind rippled from the nothingness, and her clothes and loose garments shook at the force. The tsunami wave of wind caught her off guard, and spun her around a bit, but she was sure she had imagined it, because it was such a surreal feeling. Instantaneously, as though she had strum the right tune, a light brightened the darkness. It appeared as a pathway to a coruscant star, only further convincing her that she was no longer conscious. But with a flash in the starless sky, a beacon of exalted cynosure was streaming with light before her. She faced the unparagoned being, upside down. When she saw it did not have eyes, her own averted from his face.
Omni..present? She assumed as the bright silhouette had introduced itself. She suspected there was something more to it but listened wholeheartedly. Omnilium.. And he can create fearless beings? Well.. Incentive to be fearless, with an irrevocable reason.. Caira attempted to understand, and was mightily intrigued by the being's words.
"Waiting for...?" Her voice trailed off as he had vanished by the time she could compose her question and allow it to stream from her lips.
