Battlefield 4 [PC] - Magus - 01-04-2015 Because gunfights are fun for the whole family! Do people play? Should we get a list of names together so we can squad together? You should play; it's awesome. Re: Battlefield 4 [PC] - Dark Link - 01-05-2015 I used to play it quite a bit; I even got the Premium Edition as a gift. But it's been a while since I've last played it. But if you ever want to get a game going, I wouldn't mind reinstalling the game. But I would need to know in advance, since it takes forever to install and update all of it. Re: Battlefield 4 [PC] - Magus - 01-07-2015 omg Origin is the worst thing in the universe, too. Why the fuck do I need to launch the game through a browser? DRM is stupid and will always be stupid. Re: Battlefield 4 [PC] - Dark Link - 01-08-2015 I dislike Origin, but then again, I dislike Steam as well. To me, it makes no difference how good or bad the client is if it's still forcefully shoved down my throat. Though I will say that (at least after the updates) Origin has become a decent client and really not that much different from Steam. And yeah, the whole browser thing is just ridiculous. I know why they did it and that only serves to make the decision even more deplorable. Re: Battlefield 4 [PC] - Omni - 01-09-2015 I'm sorta over the Origin hate. It's just kind of a thing, like Steam, and they give out free games regularly which is nice. I mean, it'd be nice to not have to go through the client, but it's 2015 and these are just the rituals we must perform now to play videogames. Like 2001's having to buy a memory card or 1990's cartridge foreplay. Re: Battlefield 4 [PC] - Magus - 01-09-2015 Idk. I know Steam uses DRM, but it isn't invasive. Yeah, I need the Steam client, but that's it. It doesn't open a Firefox window, it doesn't force me to install horrifically-invasive "anti-cheat" software which attempts to run as always-on and requires permission to take a snapshot of my entire hard drive, which I now have a 'services' shortcut in order to disable whenever I'm not actually playing the game. It's just all too much. Hating Origin isn't trendy - there's a quantifiably good reason that people do it. It's not as bad as, say, UPlay, but it's really, unnecessarily bad. Re: Battlefield 4 [PC] - Omni - 01-10-2015 ... Huh. That snapshot of the entire hard drive thing I didn't know about. |
