Joining as Awoor
Posted by: PANDATRON - 08-09-2015, 10:20 AM - Forum: Joining - Replies (8)

Character name: Awoor

Character source: Original.

Character history:

It (but Awoor identifies as a "she", despite lacking gender in the proper sense) is a diety-like being. She travels in between verses contained within a "Multiverse" themed verse, helping some in need, and hindering others under various aliases. "Awoor", as a name, is only one of the many she has among the different worlds she visits, and the one she as adopted as her own "name".

Despite being extremely powerful within her verse, she doesn't know what her own purpose is, and is often in a constant internal philosophical debate about why she is here and why things matter, among other concerns, such as being skeptical of her own perceptions - what if she actually isn't a god, and she's just being tricked by an overelaborate illusion?

Ultimately, she looks for answers and the truth behind these big questions. Motivated by that, she conjures forth "avatars" of humanoids (or whatever race is most convenient) into different worlds, looking for clues as different personas.

However, in one of her travels, she has reached a new kind of verse, somehow. Somewhere she hasn't been before - somewhere new.

Physical Description: (originals only)
She walks on her four legs, but the tips of each of her horns can split into very humanlike "hands", and the horns themselves can move like arms.

Mana Arrow (300 OM). Ranged Prof, Debuff Prof
Awoor has a special item which she can summon forth - a bow of energy which she wields with her horns "hands", which can fire arrows of energy. These arrows cause no physical harm, instead, upon impact, they cause fatigue, by draining the victim's stamina. The drain typically causes a sudden loss of fatigue as if they had just made a short sprint. The victim recovers from the loss of fatigue as he/she normally would (resting or just waiting). The arrow can travel up to 100m away if aimed diagonally upwards for distance.

Fortnight of the 9th through the 22nd
Posted by: Guu - 08-08-2015, 06:00 PM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (59)

Step 1: Make a post. This post should be at least 600 words. You may also post multiple times adding up to 600 words or more.

Step 2: Click on the name of your post. See it? It's probably something like 'Re: The Story of John Doe', a large line of text above your post. This should have a hashtag and your post link at the end of it (see the bolded part on the end here: http://omniverse-rpg.com/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=1114&p=7298#p7298). Copy the entire URL from your address bar.

Step 3: Post it in the active fortnightly gains topic. The date of your post should be within the date range, GMT. If you are submitting multiple posts that add up to 600, post all the links.

Step 4 (optional): If you have posted in the current book club, please include a link to that post along with the text 'book club'.

Step 5 (optional): If you have a Recognition bonus, please include in your post 'Recognition bonus: +50'. If you have an Ascendancy bonus, please post with 'Ascendancy bonus: +100'.

That's all you need to do! When the topic is updated, you will be given 300 OM. Obviously if you have a recognition or ascendancy bonus, this will be increased by 50 or 100. A book club bonus will increase this by a further 100. If no mod has posted at the end of the topic, then it hasn't been updated yet. You do not need to ask "has the thread been updated? I didn't get my OM" every week.

New fortnightly gains topics go up every second Sunday at midnight (at the end of Saturday and the dawn of Sunday) GMT. The valid time begins on Sunday at 0000 hours GMT and ends on Saturday at 2359 GMT.

Exclamation Battle of Death Mountain Discussion Thread
Posted by: Tearen Wover - 08-08-2015, 03:03 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (313)

So!

Since Nealaphh's assault on Volvagia's lair at the top of Death Mountain will soon be at hand, I figured it prudent to lay out where my thoughts are and what needs to happen for this event to kick off.

9. Muster forces at Death Mountain, divide into Alpha, Beta, and Gamma forces.

10. Alpha force, including Darunia, engages Volvagia directly, either slaying the dragon with the Gigaton hammer outright or wounding it badly enough so it retreats to its lair.

11. Beta force infiltrates lair and plants explosives to collapse Death Mountain summit on Volvagia in the event it retreats.

12. Gamma force fights off Volvagia's brood and prevents them from interfering.

13. Cake.
It is my intention for this event to serve as the foundation for a bulk of the Omniverse Institute's membership. Joining this event does not mean you are joining the institute, but all denizens willing to help will receive a standing invitation.

I'm not sure what IC rewards Nealaphh can provide, but I'll sure as hell be making badges for participants.

I'm willing to hear any feedback on the plan, and anyone who wants to join or contribute is welcome to weigh in as well.

I'm going to be listing the groups and participants in a list below based on the squad they will be in. If you have not said so already, please confirm whether or not you will be participating in the event.

Alpha - Attack on Volvagia

Gildarts
Zack Fair
Okor
Thor
Tom Riddle

Beta - Lair Infiltration

Erik Vrell
Demetri Malius
Darth Revan
Red Hood

Gamma - Repel Dragon Horde

Connor Hound

Miranda Frost

Character name: Ada Bluevale

Character source: A character from my fantasy novel.

Character history: Since the day she was born(from clay), Ada Bluevale has heard many promising things that would await her when she came of age. Submitting to becoming the Goddess of Life, Lalvo would do anything to secure her fate as such.

Though when Lalvo is suddenly kidnapped by Aether soldiers and forced into the slave mining camps, Lalvo is more determined than ever to finish what she's started. Compelled into doing what she's told, Lalvo soon finds herself envisioning the truth about why she's forced to mine for the Aether King.

Discovering a critical mystery that will unravel itself, changing Ada Bluevale insight on what's right or what's more important towards her calling. She ends up sacrificing herself for the greater good too safe everyone.

Physical Description: (originals only)

She has pointy ears, white hair, whiter than snow and eyes that are freakishly green like grass. Her blood pulses black for she has magic from the gods above. The only thing that she likes to wear is a brown tunic, sort of like what a monk would wear.

Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 1
SPD: 3
TEC: 4

Starting Proficiencies:(1000 OM) Ranged Proficiency

Starting Powers:(1200 OM) Stealth

Starting Moves:(300 OM) Slash - she can throw out from the palms of her hands little whip like strings that glow purple. They then whip the opponent and disappears. There is no charge and takes about 2 seconds to attack with this. It has little to no damage but puts a deadly poison into the victim(though takes 2hrs to take affect)

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

The Secondary Saga - Prologue, Introductions

The Road to Omni - Day One, Part One

Quote:Day 1 - Morning

Your secondary finds themselves simultaneously gathered in a large clearing and a part of a large group of strange looking beings. (See participating members/ roster for those involved.)

This phase will last about 3 OOC days and conclude on Monday night (11:30 PDT). In order to keep active, please post at least once per phase.

Their location: The Tangled Green

How they arrived should be hinted, implied, or can be written as you like. Please put anything prior to their arrival –such as memories– in a spoiler tag (for coherency).

You may stagnate their arrival times as you wish.

Your secondaries have followed the "Ghost Girl" or another lead to this location, only to find that Omni, is quite evidently, not there.

Notable surroundings were read by the many pairs of startled eyes while the heavy scent of humidity tainted the air, thick to breathe. Lush greenery filled the horizon and covered the sky. Tropical birds chirped from afar, echoing through the forest with their incessant squawks and alarming song. Wings of bugs larger than the size of a watermelon, viciously buzzed in the air and only layered more on their already brimming senses. The atmosphere combined together was enough to remind any stray mind that those who now found themselves there were stranded, isolated, and very far from home.

In the near distance – about twenty feet away – covered by dense layers of leaves and brush, was an abandoned gray Jeep Wrangler, stashed just past the giant ruins that would immediately catch the attention of anyone around.

The sandstone ruins were covered in brambles that crawled like veins in the nooks of ancient rock. Along the side of the square temple was a hidden entrance, partially covered by a leafy branch. Meanwhile, gargoyle heads smiled and looked in every direction, appearing as though their purpose was to guard something; these lion-like statues were perched on pillars all around the clearing and surrounded the temple in a scattered pattern that could only be seen with an aerial view.

If one looked close enough, they would see some tribal markings etched on stone and tree alike.

...

With the back of her hand, Christa's pale hair was wiped gently from her forehead, already sticky with the glitter of sweat. Her dampened expression weighed with an abnormal amount of annoyance as she found herself standing in front of the large set of ruins. After everything she had gone through, the road to Omni had lead her here. Face to face with a very diverse group of people. A flurry of emotion was read by the swift flicker of her eyes as her heels dug into the soft earth and she readied her closest weapon –  a pistol – and raised it at the most threatening creature there.

This is an ambush. She was convinced and set her sights on him; blood pumping with every drumming heartbeat, while the snout of her revolver was aimed at the thing's head. Her stance had squared on the being, she observed how it was cold and motionless yet still very alive. Christa's eyes narrowed while her lips curled back into a growling snarl and she dared him to challenge her with any sort of reason that would motivate her enough to pull the trigger.

Christa, encompassed by a group of people who were notably less hostile than she was making them out to be, felt her mind thrill with paranoia. She had spent too many of her days at war. And this was just a taste of the many consequences to come.

Little did the woman know, she was surrounded by those who knew her own inhibitions all too well.

I just got back into myself, cause nothing quite does Shapeshifting/Druid like WoW does. I'm also trying out Demonology Warlock and then Shadow Priest.

  Slow Burn
Posted by: Eleanor Lamb - 08-08-2015, 12:47 AM - Forum: The Endless Dunes - Replies (6)

Daenerys woke unhappily.

Firstly, the sweltering heat that assaulted her the moment her eyes flickered open absolutely repulsed her. From the looks of things, she had been transported inside a building—though the plausibility of that in the great white expanse she and her companion had been running through seemed low—and yet even still, warmth blanketed her all too thickly. Instinctively, she placed a hand on her chest, catching her breath and coughing up sweat that had begun to slip into her mouth while she slept. Disgusting.

“…she’s waking up!” someone called, and almost immediately hands were upon her, shoving her back down onto the table—not a bed?—that she lay upon. Her back crashed into the hard metallic surface and she groaned in pain, trying her best to fight back against the hold of these people who certainly did not dress like medical professionals.

“Remove… your hands… from me… this instant!” she stammered as she struggled against the grip of two women, one scarily scrawny and the other short and pudgy. The rounder woman pushed the taller one out of the way and grip Daenerys’ shoulders much too forcibly, pressing her firmly into the table and holding her in a bind that the khaleesi anticipated she would not be escaping any time soon. “This is unacceptable,” she muttered under her breath.

“Shut it, princess,” the crass woman scowled, turning her head to look at her skinnier companion, “go tell her friend she’s awake before she has a goddamn conniption fit.” The scrawny woman hurried out of the little building.

Black Mage, Dany realized almost immediately who she’d meant. In her lapse of focus, the bigger woman won the struggle and the rightful queen felt herself forced back onto the table, where she would remain until this peasant chose to unhand her. Still, that didn’t stop her from releasing a frustrated growl. Certainly this bitch would regret laying hands on her like this under normal circumstances, but as it were, Dany had no power over her, a fact that she struggled to come to terms with having been snatched so drastically from her queendom. Well, that, and in spite of herself the Targaryen princess began to think that perhaps these two women had been responsible for her care after she’d… fainted?

The memory began rushing back to her. She and Black Mage had struggled to escape the growing calamity at the Fountain of Infinity, and in their escape she had perhaps physically exerted herself more than she could handle—certainly, she had walked long distances, but even those treks could not prepare her for running for her life for what seemed like forever. The anxiety combined with the exhaustion had done her in, she supposed, and she had fainted like a pitiful, pathetic damsel.

So where was she now, then? The last thing she recalled, Black Mage crouched over her failing body in the great white void she’d come to know as the Nexus; behind him, a large gate of rocky stone stood, welcoming them perhaps into some other zone of this Omniverse. She had not stayed awake long enough to know what lay on the other side, but perhaps her guardian had simply scooped her up and carried her to safety? If that was the case, he deserved more merit than she had given him upon their first meeting. Maybe, she thought, she had been quite wrong to doubt his abilities. Certainly he had proven willing to protect her against the likes of Drake Oneir.

Finally, the rotund nurse took her hands off Daenerys. “Alright, you can sit up—slowly,” she allowed, and the khaleesi obliged. She hesitated to comply with this woman’s orders, but the returning burning sensation in her ribs kept her from straying too far from the lady’s advice. Perhaps she was just trying to help.

Dany placed a hand to her abdomen, hoping that massaging it lightly might ease the pain. No such luck, unfortunately, as the burning began to shoot up her sides. Running, she supposed, took more out of her than she expected.

“Why is it so hot?” she whispered under her breath, slowly pushing herself off the table and back onto her feet. She wobbled a little at her first steps, and the big nurse moved to catch her, but the khaleesi pushed her away. “You will not touch me unless I say so,” she ordered, and out of the corner of her eye she could see a disdainful expression cross the woman’s face. “Thank you for your help, but I must see my companion.” She moved for the door.

“You don’t need to be going anywhere,” the nurse protested.

Dany whipped around, regretting it immediately but holding fast. “I will be making decisions about what I do and do not need to do,” she growled, “I said thank you, and I meant it. Perhaps once I reach my companion you can help me further.”

She turned and walked to the door, unimpeded now. Behind her, she could hear the woman muttering comments that, to someone whose skin was not as thick as Daenerys Targaryen’s, might’ve been hurtful. But she had been through worse, and worse things had been said about her, so she shrugged them off and opened the door.

Sunlight blinded her. She blinked. As the area came into focus, she saw Black Mage and the skinny nurse approaching her, though where they had come from she could not tell; the area around them seemed relatively populated; it seemed to be a small, relatively advanced village, from the looks of it. It certainly held more life in its tiny boundaries than the area outside the city limits; as Daenerys’ vision began to get clearer, she began to see the rest of the verse: stretches of sandy, arid turf, stretching far into the distance and out past the horizon line.

She let out a defeated sigh. Another fucking desert.
