  Crashin in this party!(Demetri Alt)
Posted by: Dave Strider - 08-24-2015, 10:17 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (4)

Character name:Crash Bandicoot

Character source:Crash Bandicoot

Character history:Taking Crash after he defeats Neo Cortex and Uka Uka in Crash Bandicoot Warped.

Physical Description: [Image: latest?cb=20110507002540]

Stats:(+1 Stat Increase,1000)
ATK: 4
DEF: 2
SPD: 4
TEC: 1

Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength(1000)
Ranged Proficiency(1000)

Starting Powers:
Super Jump: Basic(300)
Master Acrobat(400)

Starting Moves:

Cyclone Spin(300, Physical Strength)
Crash spins his body with such speed that he becomes a blur, attacking nearby foes with a flurry of punches and kicks, dealing a moderate amount of damage if fully taken, as well as reflecting projectiles. Crash moves at a much slower speed, similar to a brisk walk, as his speed is now being put forth into his spin, and the move lasts up to ten seconds and can be used mid air to slow Crash's descent. An attack with enough force can stop Crash in his tracks, as well as daze him from the sudden stop of his spin.

Body Slam(300, Physical Strength)
Crash jumps high into the air above his opponent, waiting until he is perfectly above them, before slamming his body down in a belly-flop maneuver and dealing significant damage to his opponent. This takes a second or so to jump and prepare, and leaves Crash vulnerable for a counterattack if he misses his target, as he must take a second to stand up and regain his composure.

Super Moves:

Fruit Bazooka(Tier 1 Offensive, Ranged 600)
Crash whips out a launcher that can fire explosive wumpa fruit, native to Crash's home. These fruits are deadly to weak enemies, and cause considerable damage to other primes if enough shots are landed. It contains a clip of ten fruit and fires at a rate of one per second. The fruits can go as far as 20m, though at that range they do minimum damage, more by the tiny explosion than the impact.

Transformations:
(Not yet implemented)
Aku Aku (Tier 1)
Crash uses his faithful companion and guide, Aku Aku, as a mask, greatly increasing his defense and speed, as well as as a small boost in his attacks. Aku Aku shines brightly and emits a wide array of changing colors during the transformation.

  One World to Another
Posted by: Simon - 08-24-2015, 06:39 PM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (1)

He blinked, and suddenly he was was somewhere much different. Along with the complementary head-swimming nature of shifting through an inter-dimensional portal, but Dante was kind of used to that. He almost instinctively braked himself on the motorcycle he was riding, sliding to a soundless stop aside the putting of the motor. Did he somehow ride into one of those aforementioned portals when he wasn't looking? It didn't seem like it, at least.

New question: what exactly what this place, besides what appeared to be a void of infinite darkness... where he could still see himself? Before he could answer, the Son of Sparda suddenly became aware of a presence in front of him - a silhouette of white, of a small, almost boyish figure, grinning with a Cheshire smile.

Omni Wrote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
With little other option at hand, Dante leaned to one side on his vehicle, dropping a foot down to steady himself and cutting the motor. With a brief sputter, quiet overwhelmed the void. The figure held out his hand, and an orb of some chromatic liquid, like flowing prismatic metal, appeared.

Omni Wrote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."
Dante's unconsciously adopted frown faltered, then suddenly twisted into a curt smile to match Omni's own. This deity's words were starting to sink in, their implications arising on Dante's head. Gradually, he was figuring out why he was here.

Omni Wrote:You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting."
With Omni's final words, the silhouette faded away- or rather, the void around them was set alight in pure white, in which the body disappeared into. In the figure's place was a fountain of sorts, a red crater with a jagged rim containing a pool of water and an intricate statue rising from the center to decorate it. The carving with made from seemed like obsidian, and the figure in question was a horned demon with folded leathery wings and bulky hide armor. The statue held in it's igneous paws an otherwise plain claymore, planted in the pedestal where its wielder stood.

Dante studied the statue for a moment- it looked uncannily like the true form of his father, Sparda. Then again, he had only vague remembrances of ever seeing his father's true from, and it may have been mere artistic depiction. In any case, the fact that such a thing was here was almost flattering to the Son of Sparda. Omni really knew what he was doing, it seemed.

Throwing out the cycle's kickstand so he could disembark freely, Dante hopped off his ride to stretch his legs and look around. The white void seemed more familiar and welcoming than the black one moment before. Despite the light, Dante cast no shadow, and there was no discernible transition from floor to horizon, giving him an odd feeling of vertigo. He was pleasantly surprised to see the distant sight of what seemed to be eight different gates, far away but all surrounding the fountain like a clock. The whole place gave him a slight feeling of déjà vu, something he almost welcomes in this new world.

In any case, Dante's reasoning for him being here was clear. His skills had proved him to be a powerful and awesome warrior, a fact that interested Omni and prompted the being to pull him to this world, a world of his creation. While others would find the idea of being a source of entertainment rather repulsive or unjust, Dante was rather willing to put on a show for this deity. This Omnilium, the Son of Sparda's new power source, his reason and being for existing here... he had to collect as much as he could. To grow more powerful, to fight and win battles, to call upon whatever collection of weapons he desired, to prove himself a powerful being to Omni.

At least, something like that. There wasn't actually any clear goal to be had, but that didn't immediately concern Dante. He was brought here to be tested, to entertain Omni, and that he would. The dark knight might not know anything else right now, but those gates looked like a good place to start.

But before that, Dante checked himself. He unclipped Rebellion from his back, seeing it still in his possession and still awakened, the crossguard open and the skulls still with open mouths, wailing silently. Which, in turn, meant Dante still had access to Devil Trigger - a useful boon to have, when it came down to it. Returning Rebellion, the demon hunter dropped his hands to his hips, feeling the twin guns Ebony & Ivory in their holsters. Calling upon reflex, Dante quickly unsheathed the pistols and unloaded a few shots to test they still worked as intended. They did.

In the process, though, the Son of Sparda took note of something. He felt notably more sluggish and weaker than before, and his connection to his devil half felt distant, not something he could easily tap into. He noticed the weight of his other equipment was non-present, so his other firearms were gone. His attempt to summon one of his Devil Arms also fell flat, as even when he concentrated he hit a mental brick wall.

Of course- it was part of Omni's introduction to him here. He had to weaken Dante first, so that he would have incentive to grow stronger. Obviously, Dante was going to have to work to get back to his former strength and skill level. Which was fine by the demon hunter.

He hopped back onto the motorcycle, started the ride up, and gunned the engine, pulling up the kickstand. Swerving away from the fountain, Dante aimed toward one of the gates and sped up to 80 mph. It was time to get to work.

Before Stu was able to even speak, he woke up in a void greeted by a strange man that reminded him of his friend Deus, what with his maniacal smile and white figure, and was then taken to a strange fountain in the middle of a blank space bustling with people and strange creatures, some of which he'd even seen before. His mouth agape, Stu swore that he must be dreaming, but figured he'd ask a random passer-by for at least some scrap of information about this weird, distorted reality.
"Hey, can ya help a body at all?"

  Once more into the breach
Posted by: Okor - 08-24-2015, 03:18 PM - Forum: The Vasty Deep - Replies (15)

A grunt escaped Okor's black-toothed excuse for a mouth, bolt and las-fire filling the air as his massive hands turned the wheel of the landspeeder, throwing the hovercraft into a steep dive. Sparks and fire coruscated across the scorched and pitted hood, as his inept motions led their escape vehicle into a collision course with a steady stream of civilian traffic, unaware of the Legionnaires bearing down on their airborne activities. Tartaros whipped around from his firing position, taking a moment to comprehend the scene unfolding before him. "What in The Emperor's name are you doing you damn fool!? We're going to crash!" The disgusting animated piece of cloth that clung to his pale white armour shouted similar, if more obscene phrases. Okor's titanic foot pressed down on the accelerator, propelling the shuttle forward, unbalancing the lone wolf, who fired his bolter in confusion, forcing a pursuing Imperial craft to jink away. The Plague Marine's single sight focused on the shimmering wall behind the sky-lane. "Patience, brother." his voice was laboured, still recovering from the bloody battle they had fought to take their prize.

The hovercar descended upon the skylane like the flaming fist of an angry god, sparking and smoking, held together by necessity more than anything else. The civilians scattered, steering their flying vehicles out of the unstoppable juggernaut of mangled steel, still harried by the fusillade of fire unleashed by the Imperial enforcement forces. An airborne transport truck loomed in front of the marines, its operator either courageous to the point of suicide, or somehow unaware of the events unfolding before them. Okor began to throw their escape vehicle off-course, but his rotten nerves proved too slow to undertake this task. The nose of the hovercar collided with the cabin of the transport, shearing away a vast expanse of the craft. If one would look closely, they would see half of the engine falling to the streets far below. The grav-plates attached to the underside of their ride sputtered and died as they careened away from the collision, the shimmering surface of the portal growing to fill their vision. For a brief moment, all was silent as they stared at the rapidly approaching gate, idle blue waters awaiting them on the other side of this reality. Their transport was a death trap. As soon as it touched the ground, their survival was unlikely, to say the least. "Tartaros. Jump." He spoke, clambering over the side. "The hell are you doing, you crazy bastard? You'll get yourself killed!" Okor's cyclopean face turned to face his brother. "I survived the guns of... Terra. With Nurgle's favour, I will survive this."

The Luna Wolf took a moment to factor in the momentum of the craft, the rapidly enclosing stormtroopers, and weighed the odds. He was a survivor, and was not one to make rash decisions. He had, however, honed his instinct to a razor's edge. The Luna Wolf quickly leaped, falling through the air as the damnable creation of cloth pitied his foolishness. Chuckling, Okor looked once more at the portal, his gaze drawn to a lone figure standing at the base of the portal. They were small, vulnerable. Innocent. Forgotten memories, lost to millenia of aging, rot, and hypno-training began to surface. Sister. I had a sister. He remembered now. Three (Or was it two?) years his junior, with a laugh that melted hearts, a freckled face that brightened everyone's spirits when it came into view.

He couldn't save her. Not when the walking dead came to their village, hungry for the flesh of the living. Screams echoed in his mutated skull, a reminder of his failure. Not today. Not here. Today, he would save someone's little sister.

He threw his weight against the side of the vehicle, several hundred kilograms of dead flesh and ceramite sufficiently altering the vehicle's course. The hovercar tilted, granting Okor a view of the proceedings as he began to crash through the gate. Tartatos rolled along the ground, his ceramite cracked. But he was alive, and moving. It would have to do for now, until they got to the other side. His sight settled upon the small, pale child his actions had preserved. She smiled, raven dark hair falling across her shoulders, blowing in the wind as the speeding wreck passed her by. He closed his eyes and leapt, rotten teeth smiling beneath his helm as he dearly he hoped he wasn't too late to save himself. The shimmering surface engulfed him, as his ungainly form left the ruined excuse of a transport, light struggling to penetrate his closed eye, the morning sun of Costa Del Sol making its presence known.

August Community Accolade Voting (Until September 2nd)
Posted by: Proto Man - 08-24-2015, 02:02 PM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (26)

Welcome to another edition of the Community Accolades!

Simply put, the Accolades involve nominating (and later, voting for) those who have outdone themselves in a particular area each month. For variety's sake, the categories for each month may be different.

You have until the end of the month to nominate your choices. After that, we will proceed to the voting phase where members will vote among the two individuals with the most nominations for each category. The only exception is if someone manages to get 5+ more nominations than the runner-up, in which case that person becomes the winner by default.

If you wish to participate, think of who stood out the most in a particular category this month and post your choice, along with a 2-3 sentence long explanation, in this thread. You are not barred from nominating your own characters, nor do you have to fill out all the categories.

The winners will become this month's "Community Stars" and will receive a blue user title in recognition of their achievement.

So, without further ado, here are the categories:

‘Best’ Character – Which character has you engaged the most?

‘Best’ Writer – Which writer wowed you the most?

Most Helpful – A staffer or a member who gave you amazing feedback on a story or was simply there to help you sort out some of your problems.

Rising Star – Which up-and-coming member stands at the crème of the crop? (must have joined within the last month and a half OR have less than 8000 OM)

'Best' NPC – What non-player character (can be a site, personal, or story NPC) entertained you the most (for whatever reason)

Purple Ribbon - Consider this a bonus category for nominating someone who, while they may not be the best and have all the twitter followers, you believe deserves to be recognized for what they bring the the Omniverse.

  Character aging
Posted by: Cloud Strife - 08-24-2015, 09:29 AM - Forum: Help Desk - Replies (2)

So, I've been wondering for a while, characters that are played on here have -so far- been characters that have hit that point where they have ceased aging (for the most part) and I was wondering, for the kid character such as Sasuke, Naruto etc. Do they have the option of, one day, aging their characters to be the age of what they are in part 2/ The most recent canon movie ages? and if so, would this require a whole omniverse event in which we skip over a certain amount of IC Time?
