November Community Accolades (Until December 7th)
Posted by: Proto Man - 12-01-2015, 09:03 PM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (12)

Welcome to another edition of the Community Accolades!

Simply put, the Accolades involve elevating those who have outdone themselves in a particular area each month. For variety's sake, the categories for each month may be different.

If you wish to participate, think of who stood out the most in a particular category this month and post your choice, along with a 2-3 sentence long explanation, in this thread. You are not barred from nominating your own characters, nor do you have to fill out all the categories.

In the event that it's needed, I'll extend this for 'run-off' voting between people who might be neck-and-neck with votes.

The winners will become this month's "Community Stars" and will receive a blue user title in recognition of their achievement.

So, without further ado, here are the categories:

‘Best’ Character – Which character has you engaged the most?

‘Best’ Writer – Which writer wowed you the most?

Best Bud! – A staffer or a member who gave you amazing feedback on a story or was simply there to help you sort out some of your problems.

Rising Star – Which up-and-coming member stands at the crème of the crop? (must have joined within the last ninety days OR have less than 8000 OM)

Favorite :frogsiren: Moment - Whether in-character or out-of-character, what moment had you spewing police sirens.

Favorite Faction or Partnership - It can be because of in-character exploits or just a highly entertaining out-of-character tandem.

Favorite Fight - We've had like, a dozen and a half of these, both in structured formats and in the free-for-alls in and around Nippur. What is/was your favorite match-up? In-character only (apologies to our OOC/non-canon battlers).

Favorite NPC - Which nonplayer character, prime or secondary, entertained you the most? Please note the 'owner' of said NPC, just in case someone (me) is ignorant of their exploits.

Purple Ribbon - Consider this a bonus category for nominating someone who, while they may not be the best and have all the twitter followers, you believe deserves to be recognized for what they bring the the Omniverse. (The winner must be a DIFFERENT person than last month's winner)

  A Day Changed
Posted by: The Rogue - 12-01-2015, 05:06 PM - Forum: The Astral Realm - Replies (13)

Quote:The morning of the day he had a daydream about while he was in Courscant

Connor jolts awake as his alarm goes off. As he comes around he notices the mass of frizzy red hair in his face. He smiles loving down at it.

“Brooke...it’s time to wake up babe”, he says with a smile. She turns over and Connor looks lovingly down at her. She opens her eyes, blue-ish hazel color, with a hazel ring around the pupil.

“Hi…”, she says softly. They both smile and laugh.

Connor slides out of bed and heads towards his dresser. He opens the very top drawer and pulls out a black t-shirt. He slips it on and grabs some clean pants. He puts them on and then grabs his two holsters. He straps the smaller to the upper part of his left thigh, and the bigger to his lower right.

He walks out of his shared room as Brooke gets herself dressed. He heads down stairs and to the kitchen. He starts making breakfast.

“Good morning”, Brooke says from the top of the stairs. Connor looks up, and she is dressed in jeans, a grey t-shirt, and black letterman style jacket with the Batman symbol on the front. She has her Bullpup Lynx rifle, Thorn, slung across her back.

Connor smiles up at her and she smiles back, “Good morning”, he replies back. She runs down the stairs then throws herself at him, he catches her and spins her around a bit. She laughs gleefully, then he kisses her lips.

“You seem more loving today, is something wrong?”, Brooke asks as she breaks the kiss.

“Yeah...just a nightmare,” he responds as he lets her go. He returns to the kitchen and resusumes cooking breakfast.

“Why was it such a nightmare?”, she ask as she sits at the bar counter.

“Well, I was torn away from here with no way to get back”, he says offhandedly, then he thinks ’to you’.

She yawns “Sounds frightening!”. Connor smirks and puts scrambled eggs onto two plates and two pieces of bacon each.

“It was certainly when I died,” she gasp when she hears him say that.

“What how?”
“I wrecked, then got shot”
She gasp and holds him as they eat.

We all know  I would come back to this.

How big are most Verses?

I know it says that the Master TP grants you up to 80 meters... That's what something just over 240 feet?

But you can buy Super Moves for something a bit better.

What if I had Master TP, and bought a move that allowed me to Teleport to a person that wielded Brave Sword(They have to buy the Move)

The Alpha Stigma, A New World to Destroy
Posted by: Dave Strider - 12-01-2015, 02:47 PM - Forum: The Nexus - Replies (10)

The dim light of the burning candle lit the small cell, its warmth reaching out and caressing the surrounding stacks of book and the man who sat upon the stone floor, his eyes wavering back and forth as he soaked in the information from the most recent reading material he had received. The Alpha Stigma awaited his execution, though it almost seemed as if he was forgotten long ago. His caretaker, an was kind and sympathetic older man, pitied him enough to bring books for him to read until his final days came to an end. Ryner had come to terms with his execution long ago, perhaps it was for the better. He was unpredictable, dangerous, and most likely a menace to society. Whenever he lost control...

The Alpha Stigma winced at the flashbacks of destruction and turmoil. He stared out into the darkness for a few moments before turning his eyes back to the page and finding his place. Still, there were things that still hung on the edge of his mind. Ryner gave a sigh. He still wondered what had happened to Sion, and why his friend had turned against him. Was someone manipulating him? Was he forced to do what he did? In the worst case, was that his plan all along? No, it couldn't be. That wasn't the Sion he knew, there had to be some unknown force at play.

Ryner shook his head at his thoughts, he kept getting distracted, he flipped back a few pages and began to reread the words, hoping they would sink in this time. However, his thoughts wandered to Ferris. As much as he hated to admit it, he missed her. With her teasing and accusations of sexual intentions, even her massive obsession with dango.

The Alpha Stigma tossed the pages on the floor before stretching his arms and giving a chuckle. He often forgot how much of a monster he was when he was with Ferris. Sometimes she seemed more destructive than he was, even if it was just an illusion. The power of destruction within an Alpha Stigma was far greater than that of any regular human, even if they were Ferris.

As Ryner rested the back of his head on his hands and lay upon the cold floor, he wondered what would happen after he was gone. At least now, he could nap whenever he wanted without getting yelled at for it. His eyelids fluttered for a moment before his mind began to rest, the candle flickering as it soon burned out.

Darkness.

With a gasp the Alpha Stigma quickly sat up, awake and sweating. It felt as if he just woke from a nightmare, but he knew all too well that what happened was real. Those long days proved his doubts wrong with each sunset and sunrise. As he looked around he found himself in his cloak, the blue and white design clean and new. He felt his face and felt no stubble or hair, as if he was freshly shaven. He remembered being in his cell, so maybe this was just a dream. Then again, his surrounding felt as real as the books he read and the stone he slept on. He then turned to see a mysterious white figure before him. Before he could utter a word, the figure spoke to him.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

What was this? Some kind of game? Whatever it was, why would this guy have interest in him? Ryner felt confused, he would bring only destruction to this world, just like he did in the real one, if this was a dream As questions raced through his head, the being spoke again, holding out some rainbow reflecting orb.

Quote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."

Ryner doubted that this so called omnilium could give him and endless amount of naps or even give him peace, but he decided to continue listening to this Omni as he continued his speech.

Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. "

Wait what? What madness would this be? The Alpha Stigma then spoke up for the first time.

"Hold on a minute, what do you mean reborn? Do you even know what I am? What I am capable of doing?," Ryner's voice increased with each word. "This curse will destroy anything, and the only way it wont is when it finally destroys me! If I am able to come back who knows-"

Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

Then the smiling apparition was gone.

" What the hell ?! What am I supposed to do you giant genie?! "

The area around him then became a bright white as a fountain appeared in front of him. A red pentagram was subtly etched into the fountain floor, the water obscuring those outside from clearly seeing it unless they were inside. Ryner leaned over and sighed as he saw the sign. What now?

  Plugging In
Posted by: Enzo Matrix - 12-01-2015, 11:28 AM - Forum: The Vasty Deep - Replies (3)

After such a short time in the Omniverse, Matrix was already beginning to learn it well.

It didn't take long for him to navigate through Costa Del Sol, use his Omnilium to summon a boat, and quickly depart the initial island of this verse. He only had to glance at the map a few times during his trek across the Deep to make sure he was headed the right way. Eventually he arrived at Cinnabar Island, ignoring the small Imperial blockade just the same as they disregarded him. He hadn't been gone too long, but he knew the flow of time was altered here, so he was curious to see what he had missed in his absence.

In his typical fashion, he ignored the inhabitants of this island as he marched through the village, locating the dirt trail that led into the wilderness where he'd built his home. He did, however, keep a sharp eye out for Mewtwo, since he had many questions for the mysterious leader of Cinnabar. He wanted to know exactly why the Pokemon had sent him to Coruscant, when surely his "fearless leader" knew it was a fruitless exercise. He saw no sign of the psychic Pokemon, so he simply made his way down the long trail that separated his home from all the others.

After a short stroll through the jungle, he arrived at his property. A cursory glance showed him that nothing had changed, and everything was still intact. He didn't go towards the front door, and instead walked up the steps to the deck that wrapped around the sides and back of the house. He walked around the corner to their small pool, and couldn't help but laugh.

AndrAIa sat in one of the lounge chairs, clad in a simple black bikini and a pair of sunglasses. She held a drink in one hand, and was content to simply peacefully look out at the untamed wilderness that served as their view. She ran her other hand through her blue hair as she looked over to Matrix upon his arrival, and immediately smiled at the sight of him.

"I'm glad to see you've been hard at work," Matrix joked, putting his hands on his hips as AndrAIa merely smiled and a took a sip of her drink.

"Welcome back!" AndrAIa said in response, brushing Matrix's comment aside for the moment. She was far too relaxed to even think of getting up to greet him. "How was Coruscant?"

"A waste of time," Matrix scoffed, his arms falling to his side as he spoke. "Anything that might be useful is screened out by the Imperial authorities. I didn't stick around after that. The place almost suffocated me."

"Well, I'm glad you made it out of there intact," AndrAIa replied, with a wide grin. "I almost didn't let you go by yourself."

"Yea," Matrix shook his head. "So, what have you done since I left?"

AndrAIa paused, and looked to the sky thoughtfully for a moment. Matrix thought she might be thinking up a story, but suddenly she began to speak.

"Where to start?" AndrAIa asked rhetorically, giving her boyfriend no time to interject. "I reorganized the house. I have everything set up just right now, so we don't have to worry about the home front. I also learned that we want to look into a place called the 'Dataverse' since it supposedly is a massive information bank. Also, I threw the loveliest dinner party with some darling neighbors of ours," she quickly explained, but then a sly smile crept onto her face, and she continued after a brief pause. "So, what were you doing again, while I was working so hard?"

"Well, you know. The time distortion," Matrix stuttered, not having a clue what else to say. She had obviously made significantly more progress than he had.

AndrAIa pushed her sunglasses up to her forehead, and winked at Matrix. He quickly regained his composure, however.

"I've gotten my eye to work with the Dataverse, though," Matrix said, taping the side of his head that housed his robotic eye. "There's a lot of information, there, but it's impossible to sort through it all efficiently."

AndrAIa kept her eyes on him as he moved and spoke, but she kept up her comforting smile. "That's why we need to physically enter the Dataverse, and visit that library."

"We...what? How?" Matrix asked, taken aback by the mere suggestion. She made it sound so simple, and he wondered how much she had learned in his absence to make her seem so casual about it.

"We just need a device that will take our bodies and plug them into the information highway," AndrAIa said with a casual shrug that undersold such a daunting task.

"Oh, is that all?" Matrix replied in disbelief. "And where do we get one of those?"

"It's the Omniverse, babe, and you're a prime," AndrAIa laughed as she reminded him. "If you want it, you get it. You've just got to use that Omnilium to make us one."

Matrix tilted his head a bit. Her logic was sound, but he had no idea where to start. He wasn't quite used to the concept of willing things into existence. He did know one thing for sure, and that was that it would end up in that lower basement he'd set aside to serve as the defensible command room of their home. He sighed, and wondered if maybe he should just go spend a few hours using his Omnilium to create a workable underground headquarters. He figured he could use his cybernetic eye to connect to the Dataverse and learn how to, well... access the Dataverse. It certainly made sense, and one could never be too prepared. He grumbled with some resolve as he began to make his way towards the back door to the house. He turned and looked to AndrAIa, who made no motion to leave her chair.

"I'll get to work," Matrix announced, opening the door.

"I'll be here if you need me," AndrAIa replied, raising her glass as if to toast him.

Matrix shook his head and let out a small laugh. He'd traveled halfway across the Omniverse for answers and found none, and she hadn't let the island and already knew the next steps. He was afraid to know what else she might uncover while he was down here working. In the end, it was all the same. Whatever route they could find to get back home to Mainframe.

He entered the house and walked through the kitchen and living room, and opened the secure door to the lower level. He slowly descended the stairs after closing the door behind him. Upon descending he found himself on steel balcony that circled the entire upper floor, with several rooms that broke off from it. The lower level had a wide open bottom floor, but also more doors that led to other rooms. Matrix walked down another flight of stairs that deposited him on the lowest level, and stood at the center of the room. He took a deep breath and looked around.

There was a lot of work to do. Things to summon and place, and then likely move around afterwards. His robotic eye clicked and twisted as he accessed the Dataverse with it, pulling up some guides and information. He skimmed through what he could find about physically entering the Dataverse. But in the end, he knew he had to quit stalling. He hated using Omnilium because it simply took too much time and he was very impatient, but he knew he'd have to suffer through it again so that he could build something that would serve as a respectable base in this land. It wouldn't be the principal office of Mainframe, but it would have to do.

Matrix just sighed and held out his hands. He summoned forth an orb of Omnilium and began to work.

Spreading the Cho'Gall virus! (Heroes of the Storm)
Posted by: Undyne - 12-01-2015, 02:23 AM - Forum: The Arcade - Replies (8)

As the Blizzard fans among you may know, there's a new hero in HotS called Cho'Gall - a two-headed ogre that is indeed controlled by two players! For extra awesomes, Blizzard is giving him - them? - away for literally free: all you have to do is win two games by playing with a friend who already owns him. This includes even AI matches, so it couldn't be easier to get the hero even if there's huge skill differences.

For those of you who would like to save 10k gold (lots of grinding) or 9,99$ or whatever he costs, post your account name and I'll add you on battle.net! (I will post mine as soon as I can log in, hue). Or just add each other once you have the hero and we can spread it even more easily.

Litle info on Cho'Gall for those interested:
As it's controlled by two players, Cho'Gall is very reliant on good communication - then again, so are most heroes. He's amazingly fun though. The Cho player controls movement, the Gall player can not influence where they're moving. Gall also has no autoattack, but instead offers a low-cooldown ranged ability. Both have specialized ability sets (Cho is tanky and sustained, Gall deals huge damage), which gives you the best of both worlds: a tanky mobile assassin with area of effect damage, woot! On the other hand, if your enemy kills you they get two for the price of one, and they only need to keep track of four positions on the map. Also, Cho has amazing trolling potential with dragging his teammate into doom. Buuut, that's part of the fun!

  Vote For Us! (December)
Posted by: Kakashi Hatake - 12-01-2015, 02:15 AM - Forum: Bookkeeping Archive - Replies (529)

You like having more people to play with, right? That was a rhetorical question, because having more people to write with is awesome. Do you also like OM? If the answer is 'yes', which OBVIOUSLY it is, then please vote for us on the following sites!

RPGfix (every 12 hours. If you register, your votes count as x2. Worth the couple of minutes to make an account if you're going to be voting every day)
Top RP Sites (Daily)

When you vote, please post here with your total vote count for this month. So "Voted: 1", "Voted: 3" or whatever. Just keep track of 'em. For our counting purposes, clicking vote on both sites, or on RPGfix if only that is available, counts as 1 vote. If you post less than twelve hours since your last post, we won't count it. This means you can get up to two vote counts a day if you vote exactly every twelve hours. Simple? SIMPLE.

At the end of the month, if you posted ...

7-13 times: You get 100 OM.
14-23 times: You get 200 OM.
24+ times: You get 300 OM.
Every day: You get 300 OM, and a hug from me for being so damn diligent.

If you have an alternate character and wish to claim your reward on that account as opposed to your main one, please let us know in the topic before the month ends. If you don't, we'll assume you want the OM on the account you posted with.

We're going to trust in this that people actually click the links and don't just reply. I mean it only takes a few seconds to click these links anyway, but if there's a discrepancy between the posts here and the number of votes, and people really want to try and scam their way to a few hundred extra OM without voting, then we'll just remove this. Capiche?

Thanks for voting everyone! If you have time, please also leave a vote and review for us on Top RPG sites (once only).

Colosseum - Semifinal - Adam Gaite vs Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung’s body had been mended by omnilium, but the scars beneath the surface would linger for a long time. With his eyes set on the goal ahead, he glanced at the standard of Diablo wafting in the snowy wind behind his shoulder.

On the other side of the frozen landscape, Adam Gaite smiled faintly at the dwarven equipment that lay behind him.

Somewhere, the gong rang out and the two best fights in Group B began their bout.
