Posted by: Beta Ray Bill - 12-18-2015, 05:59 PM - Forum: Joining - Replies (19)

Character name: Darth Nihilus

Character history: Darth Nihilus was an ordinary man who had lost every thing to the mandalorians even the will to live. The event that made him were catastrophic , the republic created a super weapon called the Mass Shadow Generator, they activated it on the planet Malicor 5,in order to defeat the mandalorian crusaders. The weapon was activated on the planet, when it went off Nihuils was on the planet. the Mass Shadow Generator ravaged his body and gave him a thirst for the force. later in his life he trained under Darth Traya and became dark lord of the sith. At one point in his life he infused his soul to his armor making him invulnerable to normal attacks. In the end of Nihlius's life he was about to devour the planet Telos when the exile fought him in single hand combat and killed him. As Darth Nihilus's dark essence spewed out of his armor Omni took him and brought him to the Omniverse.

  Brainstorming: F-Zero Circuit
Posted by: Simon - 12-18-2015, 05:07 PM - Forum: Omniverse Discussion - Replies (15)

A long time ago, one of my potential storylines for Dante involved him delving into Tier 4 of Coruscant and helping out a Secondary involved in the local F-Zero circuit, who had become a target to the mafia beneath the surface of the circuit.

Of course, this was a long time ago. With this story line not even having the chance to see the light of day yet, I'm taking a different approach and making it its own thing. I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try and give light to one of the many Omniverse attractions that have yet to be fleshed out significantly.

But then, I thought, maybe some other people might like the opportunity to participate in a high-octane anti-gravity race championship. Nobody has as of yet the F-Zero circuit here to actually RP any races, so I thought I might present an opportunity here for any people that might like to try it.

As the thread title implies, this is only a conceptual thing still. I had imagined my Secondary character going through the several different races of the anti-gravity F-Zero cup while trying to keep herself from being sabotaged by the organized crime. While this was originally a solo storyline thing, I figure some other people might like to participate, either getting involved with the controversy or just competing in the races. I have no intention on making it a big event or competition the likes of the Secondary Saga or Colosseum, just something fun and different to try out.

OOC thread

Fight takes place on a train on a trip through an absurdly-varied track of scenery. Beginning in a nondescript town, progressing through areas of terrain resembling the various verses of the Omniverse, under water, through solid walls, and even the clouds and over the moon, without rhyme or reason as to how or why, though a bearable, consistent 'atmosphere' remains in place for several meters around the train itself.

Introduction round may begin at your leisure. Intro posts are not subject to the word limit.

Colosseum - Championship - Shang Tsung vs Bandit
Posted by: Storyteller - 12-17-2015, 02:14 PM - Forum: Camelot - Replies (5)

The final match loomed on a crowd fed on a diet of blood, violence, and death for the last few hours.

Down below, the arena had been transformed into something from a nightmare journal. Half of the arena was a rolling field of dying grass, dotted with partially withered shrubs and flowers. A river ran the length of the battle area.

At the center of the Colosseum, the ground swelled a few yards higher. It was at this point that the landscape changed from dying grass to red dirt and dust. A giant, squared archway loomed high over the rest of the building, casting a shadow upon a small portion of the crowd. The Black Gate was a large structure made of nearly indestructible black stone. A large altar stood at its center, nearly two stories above the ground. Stone stairs extended from both sides of the gate.

On the western side of the Black Gate, the red landscape was dotted with fires that seemed to burn without needing fuel. Every now and then, some fissure or hole in the ground would spew lava or something that looked and smelled too much like blood for comfort.

The blue river that ran the length of the zone turned from clear water to burning red lava the moment it passed the gate. The river of lava curled through the zone before ending in a large bubbling pool. Even the air on that red side of the gate felt heavier and more oppressive.

From his viewing area, Victor von Magnus let out a sigh as he looked at the details. He had seen them all himself so many years ago, when the fate of the Omniverse hung in the hands of the Kingdom of Camelot. To see the very place where hundreds of young men and women had died replicated for the purpose of scenery felt strange and uncomfortable. Did the people in the crowd not realize how close it had been to the entire Omniverse being consumed by Diablo?

Down below, Shang Tsung and the Bandit with no Name stood on opposing sides of the altar, their expression neutral as they waited for the sound that would start the final combat.

Colosseum - Bronze Match - Magus vs Adam Gaite

With the crowd thinned out, only the most extreme patrons had returned for the consolation bout.

Mister Valentine…

Mocking words flitted through the Prime’s mind, passing like water through a sieve. Once more he was encompassed by the darkness, overcoming and threatening to swallow him. The gunslinger found his arms and legs immobile, as if bound. His senses failed to function, their faculties stolen from him. As the weight bore down on him, he heard the call once more.

Oh, Mister Valentine…

The voice was foreign to the ex-Turk, though it stirred within him a familiar rage. There were but a few occasions on which Vincent had felt such ire; he could not readily recall the last time. Perhaps…?

Vincent Valentine…

The sourceless voice continued to invade his thoughts, stirring such contemptible emotions within his mind. As the pale Prime writhed in the encompassing umber, he felt renewed vigor taking control of his form. With it came nauseating vertigo, a dizziness as one might feel upon awaking from a vivid dream. As the rage bubbled up in his veins, Vincent felt his sense begin to perform, if begrudgingly.

You stir…

All at once, the raven-haired man’s eyelids sprang open, his brain exploding with sensory input. Bleary eyes took in nigh-blinding light from around him, his crimson irises struggling against the strain. Pain tore through his musculature as he struggled to move his limbs, his chest heaving heavy breaths. His body felt as if plunged in ice water, his nerves prickling as numbness gave way to white-hot burning. Agony wracked the ex-Turk’s brain as he struggled to grasp where he had awaken. Though his brain commanded a roar in response, his lungs could offer only a meek groan.

Hello again, Mister Valentine…

Vincent snapped to attention, ceasing his half-hearted thrashing and narrowing his light-scalded eyes on the ceiling above him. As the world slowly came into view, he allowed his heart and lungs to slow and the wracking pain to ebb. It would be nearly twenty minutes before the gunslinger could find meaningful thoughts and words to puzzle together where he found himself. As he took stock of his surrounds he awaited the intrusion of the voice, though it seemed silent for the moment.

The pale Prime lay supine on some sort of table, his limbs bound by what appeared to be soft bindings composed of a leather-like material. From his vantage point he surmised that he was in some sort of medical facility, taking note of the fluorescent lighting overhead and a few nondescript medical instruments on a nearby cart. A glance toward his feet told him that he was stark naked, covered only by thin medical dropcloth. Vincent could only presume that he was in an exam room, though the examiner was nowhere to be seen. The acrid smell of disinfectant seemed to confirm this assumption. The pale Prime’s sluggish mind struggled to work out how he had ended up where he now lay, attempting with great effort to recall what had happened to him. He felt blood-flow slowly returning to his skin as he thought back to that day, now so long ago.

As if in response to his query, the gunslinger felt a sudden surge of pain tear up the back of his neck and into the base of his skull. One thought instantly entered his mind as the pain began to subside: the Abyss. He had no sooner recovered from his apparent death in the Abyss, than he was incapacitated by one of the officials in the infirmary. He gritted his teeth as he recalled this memory, the electricity crackling from the stun baton. Gazing down at his chest beneath his dropcloth, he spied the large, jagged Lichtenberg scar he had been granted shortly before the encounter. The ex-Turk surmised his attacker had abused this previous injury to subdue him.

The question remained: just who had brought him here?

Right, as is, I'm suffering from a chronic lack of motivation to write on my second account, Iskandar. I'm trying to get myself back into the flow of things, but as said, lack of motivation to write for that character is kinda killer. How much stress/how much of a pain in the ass am
I going to be if I ask for Iskandar to be reverted back to Black Star and is it even possible/would I have to start from the very beginning again?

THIS IS GLOBALLY IMPORTANT: Government Compliance Game
Posted by: Thaal Sinestro - 12-16-2015, 08:15 PM - Forum: The Whateververse, Man - Replies (30)

This isn't about Extra Credits, this isn't about learning to make better games. This is about a LITERALLY DYSTOPIAN use of games to motivate government compliance.

It's launched in China, and will be MANDATORY FOR ALL CITIZENS in 2020.

This is terrifying. This is real, and it could seriously change things for the Chinese people. I'm infuriated and hurt by this, honestly. I really am. I'm so sad that this is happening, and so ANGRY. I feel betrayed, in a way, that this kind of thing is being used to control people for the benefit of a quiet and complacent populous. This shit is terrifying.
